Stadtmauer in Hannover

Nice shop, but tipping should still be a gesture from the guest and not something the server takes for granted. My girlfriend and I both work in the restaurant industry and like to tip, but surely it should be a given that we only accept tips after the payer has expressly agreed to it? With a bill of around €17, simply putting two €10 bills in your wallet and then turning around the same second without saying "that's right" is a bit cheeky, especially since, as I said, we normally like to tip and would have done so anyway. I hope this criticism is understandable because otherwise the shop is really stylish and has a pleasant atmosphere.

Unfortunately, a very unpleasant incident occurred during breakfast at this restaurant. We were a group, and everyone paid for their own order. As the last person to arrive, I was suddenly charged an additional amount for a drink. I hadn't ordered the drink, however. Without any warning or question, the amount was simply added to the bill. Only when I explicitly inquired was I told that this drink was "still outstanding" and that I would have to pay it now, since the others had already paid. I find this practice absolutely unacceptable – you can't just arbitrarily add amounts to the last guest just because it's "convenient." I politely asked for clarification, but only after I suggested filing a fraud complaint was the amount reluctantly refunded. For me, this isn't an unfortunate isolated incident, but rather a clear indication of questionable business practices. I didn't receive the bill, just my receipt. Transparency and honesty are fundamental to every restaurant business. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. I will therefore not visit the restaurant again.

We went there for the first time today and were very disappointed. The quality of the food was subpar. My chicken schnitzel was reminiscent of Chicken MC Nuggets from "ja!" (the meat had no texture whatsoever), and the mushroom sauce tasted like it came from a packet. I left almost everything. Normally, people ask how your food tasted, but here the service matched the quality of the food – nothing came, and they just bluntly took the money. That was €50 for nothing!

The service seemed a bit overwhelmed and uninformed. The woodruff spritzer takes some getting used to, as it's apparently made with leaves and doesn't taste sweet. The ambiance is pleasant.

We were impressed right from our first visit. Appealing menu, absolutely charming location both inside and out. My girlfriend had an allergic reaction to an ingredient in her cocktail, and the staff immediately helped her with exceptional attention and courtesy. I've rarely experienced such professionalism and helpfulness. Thank you, we'd love to come back.

This place is the worse place to eat! Please don’t waste your time! They don’t have any hospitality! Management is horrible! Just a horrible place to eat or to spend your money! Please keep away from this place! TRASH! The food was garbage! The drinks were trash! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

Today I ate with three friends at the city wall by the river and we found our evening very disappointing. There are several reasons for this. It started with the drinks when we ordered spritzer and lemonade, which are made with syrup. Two of the drinks were completely missing the syrup. When I asked the male colleague about this, he said that "the raspberry spritzer isn't supposed to taste of raspberries at all." When I asked what the point of this drink was, I only received an irritated reply. Then several details of our order were forgotten, including the extra syrup, a burrata on the pizza and a sauce that we had emphatically requested. We had to ask colleagues several times to correct our order, which really wasn't complicated. Finally, we found the staff, especially the men who served us, to be very unfriendly, unmotivated and even rude. I must say, though, that the women inside were very understanding when paying and apologized several times. Nevertheless, we won't be coming back.

Unfortunately disappointing – reservation couldn't be found, service lacking customer service. I had personally reserved a table for eight people at the Stadtmauer on the Leine 1.5 weeks in advance and entered my details directly into the staff iPad. When we arrived yesterday, the reservation couldn't be found. Instead of offering a solution, I was given a completely different name three times – one that didn't even remotely resemble mine. Only after I became visibly annoyed did they suggest we go to "6 Sinne" instead – which we declined, as the menu is different there and we had specifically reserved for the Stadtmauer. The manager sat next to us and didn't say a word. It's a shame – there were eight of us and we were looking forward to the evening. However, under these circumstances, we won't be coming back. In the future, we'll prefer to eat somewhere where reservations are managed reliably and where guests are treated with a bit more attentiveness.

I highly recommend this restaurant

We had only ordered two drinks, and when we paid, we were shown the receipt only after asking for it. It showed a bottle of wine that we hadn't ordered. The waiter, grumpy and without apology, removed it from our bill. Outrageous!

We were warmly welcomed, the staff is very attentive and polite. The food and drinks were good and we were able to sit outside against the wall in the sun! It's in the middle of the old town, the area outside is large if you sit in the middle it can definitely be a bit louder.

The drinks and food were brought very quickly and were tasty. The potato snow tastes very good, but towards the end you struggle a lot with the portion😅 The waitress who took our order made a very disinterested, listless and arrogant impression. The other service staff were much nicer.

Phenomenal position by the river, very nice and pleasant view, nice green tea with honey, and you can pay with a card only if the bill is more than 50 euros, for smaller bills cash, shame.

Sitting outside was nice. Very friendly and attentive staff. Schnitzel was okay, the fries were very tasty. Price/performance ratio is okay. Sanitary facilities are clean and hygienic.

Where should I even begin? My wife and I wanted to go out for a nice meal for our anniversary. This place was definitely a failure. We were there at 5:50 p.m. but had reserved for 6:00 p.m. Actually no problem. We then wanted to sit at a nice table by the wall and were then very rudely told that we were too early and should come back again. There were enough tables available. My wife said just stay calm and we'll come back in 10 minutes. Order placed OK The first course was also very quick and we didn't even have any drinks. OK, not so wild. The first course was cleared away and it took forever until the second course was brought to the table. We both had burgers. My wife's fries were cold and old, the bacon was almost raw and overall not tasty. The garlic dip was best. We will definitely never visit this establishment again. Starters were good, main course not worth the money and the service was terrible. If we had gone out for a doner kebab

I thought it was excellent there. The selection of food and drinks is great, and some of them are truly unique. The baked sweet potato was delicious. The homemade lemonade was also delicious. Excellent value for money. The service was also top-notch! The atmosphere; we sat outside by the river. I only went inside briefly to use the restroom, but I found it incredibly spacious and stylish. I'd love to go back the next time I'm in Hanover!

Met up with friends there. The ambience by the river is really nice. Unfortunately the service seemed a bit annoyed. The schnitzel was quite small and the 1 tablespoon of sauce wasn't enough for €17.50. The homemade fries were very good.

Very bad and very good in one visit makes the rating ok, it's difficult to find a positive opinion... Great location, very nice waitress, unfortunately half the pizza was completely burnt. I don't know how that could have happened in the kitchen, but the other half was excellent and very tasty. So, the pizza should have been returned or a 50% discount was offered, but unfortunately, that wasn't granted. I could have only gotten a small espresso as an apology... This would have deserved a catastrophic rating, but because of the otherwise very good service, because the other half was very tasty, and the other pizzas from my neighbors were also good... it's an exception and I'm giving it 3 stars.

Were here on a Saturday evening. Reservation went well. Service wasn't perfect, but good and friendly. Food came quickly and tasty. In terms of costs, however, they tend to be in the upper third.

Lovely restaurant, right on the Leine River in the old town. It got a bit chilly towards the evening, but the restaurant has blankets available for use. The drinks and food were delicious. I would go there again.

I had dinner with my partner in the afternoon when the weather was good. The restaurant was really busy, but despite the many guests, the food was excellent. We enjoyed a delicious cheesecake which we really enjoyed and the drinks were also excellent. Due to the high number of visitors, the service was a bit chaotic and disorganized, but still friendly and attentive. You could tell that the staff were under pressure but still tried their best to keep us happy. What was completely unacceptable, however, was the incident that I experienced when I came back from the toilet: the apparent owner of the restaurant slapped an employee in the face for no reason. Her eyes were wide, she was obviously shaken. An incident like this has no place in any restaurant, no matter the situation. Violence and disrespect can never be excused. We will not visit this restaurant again and can only strongly advise against dining there.

The atmosphere is quite nice, especially the outside area. The service was tried but not really nice. Unfortunately, our drinks really weren't good, especially for the price. Unfortunately, Matcha Latte only tasted like milk. Maybe nice for a coffee but I wouldn't really recommend it.

We were here for brunch. The offer (buffet) is extensive and delicious. You can help yourself to freshly squeezed orange juice. The service is friendly and attentive. We liked it very much.

Always delicious, I would like to see a few more vegan dishes on the menu, e.g. B. a vegan pizza or a vegan burger. Otherwise it's always good and there's something for everyone :)

5.20 for a flat white, card payment from 15.-. A receipt is not placed on the table. Still questions? The cheesecake is almost certainly not from Patisserie Elysee (at least that's what it says on the board in front of the door). Service is friendly and attentive. Were there for brunch today. What was very negative was that our 7 year old daughter had to pay the full price of €24.90. impudence. The buffet was otherwise completely ok... nothing special... but ok. Service was virtually non-existent… you had to keep looking. Ambience & toilets super clean and really nice!

The two of us recently had dinner here. The “Wilder Bock” burger together with the rosemary-raspberry lemonade were very good. The service was very friendly. Unfortunately, the music was very loud that evening, making it difficult to understand the person you were talking to. Unfortunately, the chairs do not have a proper backrest, but are very low.

Location is nice, service is mostly nice and food is very good. But alcoholic drinks always taste strange. With tons of ice cream and too little alcohol, you're somehow making false savings when it comes to prices.

We actually like going to this restaurant because we are always completely satisfied and feel very comfortable there. We only noticed the waitresses negatively several times yesterday. Taking the order at the table was without eye contact or smiling. The gentleman seemed annoyed, as if we were bothering him. When a lady continued to order, she simply left the table in the middle of the order and told her colleague to continue taking the order. This led to confusion on both sides. The highlight was the conversation between the two aforementioned servants right next to us. The lady said loudly that she didn't feel like working today etc. I think other guests noticed that too. Of course, this statement is humanly understandable in this stressful job! But please don't be so loud in the presence of guests. One more thing: there was a piece of aluminum foil in the matcha latte (?!)

I can't say anything about the food as we only had something to drink. Otherwise, a cozy atmosphere with comfortable seating. The prices are normal, even if you might think otherwise from the outside.

During our visit to the Hanover Christmas market, five of us were in the city walls and had a very entertaining stay: The ambience is lively and modern - especially in the back area you can sit and chat. The service is variable: While the reception was very friendly, we subsequently had three different service staff who were not particularly friendly. The food, on the other hand, was great: burgers, pasta or bowls, everything was super tasty and brought quickly.

Very stylishly furnished and cozy. I really liked the Christmas menu, I had a Christmas bowl, something a little more unusual, and it tasted great.

A nice visit every time. Because of our space, we couldn't be seen as well by the staff, so the service wasn't as good as previous visits.

The alcoholic drinks didn't taste good and strange, the Gin Fizz tasted like cardboard and the Sex on the Beach had a bit of cinnamon and wasn't tasty.

So basically I think everything is great - but it's getting old - ten years ago when they opened the restaurant in Hanover - now it has had a lot of competition.

A cool location, also for a final evening. You meet nice people and the heaters make it possible to sit outside. Everything fits 👌

I've been to the city wall on a leash several times and have always been very satisfied with the food and the service. That's why I wanted to celebrate our "Christmas party" there with my work colleagues (finally after 2 years, due to Corona). We had reserved our table outside, but when we arrived it was not prepared. Well... The food was good and so was the service. Suddenly it was said that we had to clear the table, despite having a reservation. Please?! After consultation, we were allowed to stay. From then on we were just completely ignored!!! We would have liked to have ordered dessert and a drink or two, but no chance. Really very disappointing!

In summer weather, a very good place to sit on the banks of the Leine in the evening and enjoy the atmosphere. The food is quite solid, but there is nothing outstanding or special. The drinks menu offers a lot of choice, the homemade lemonades offer a lot of variety.

*Perhaps some menus should be changed. Some of them look disgusting* The visit to the restaurant was worth it. Great service, very tasty food and the toilets were also super clean and different than others 😊.

Nice staff. Portions sometimes a bit small, especially some drinks (Bailys coffee). Food is delicious. Not the cheapest store, but you shouldn't expect that there either. Nice toilet rooms.

The restaurant is just a few meters from the Leine. Both the outdoor area and the indoor area invite you to feel at home thanks to their upscale furnishings. Lunch is offered at reduced prices from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Our dishes were reduced in price by €3.00 and €7.00 respectively, without any loss in quality. The evening menu shows quite hefty prices, but the location and amenities justify the pricing. The drinks aren't exactly cheap either, small water €4.30, wheat beer €6.10. You should be prepared for a corresponding final price.

The food is really very good. It's nice to sit outside, even if it's a little colder. However, you often have to bring your time as you sometimes have to wait longer for the employees.

I had the pleasure of spending my lunch break at 'Genuss am Fluss' on the city walls in Hanover and it was truly a lovely experience. The location right on the water is simply ideal to escape from everyday life for a moment and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. I ordered the 'Wilder Bock' burger and it completely impressed me. The meat was juicy and cooked to perfection, the combination of flavors was excellent, and the side dishes were fresh and delicious. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive - exactly as you would expect. Overall, a completely successful experience. A great place to unwind and enjoy good food during your lunch break. I'll definitely be back!

So the price-performance ratio is simply not right. Overpriced for standard products. You only pay for the ambience here. So I can really only advise against it. Everything looks great on the outside, but if you look closely you quickly notice that this is not a quality restaurant. More bistro quality.

We had reserved and our seats were not available on time. Then we were moved twice again, which I found very chaotic, even though there wasn't much going on. Food is tasty but doesn't have the quality that the price suggests.

A good place to eat with your loved ones in a great atmosphere. the dishes and ingredients are rather modern and the staff, although young, is attentive and very nice. We've been here three times and so far the food has been really tasty. The only negative point is the many pigeons.

As a woman, I would be happy to have a place to put my handbag when I freshen up. Otherwise everything was great, we would love to come back!

We were there on July 19th. We ate with you and were, as before, absolutely satisfied. The service is quick, friendly and accommodating even with special requests. The food was very good and the quantity was sufficient. A small point of criticism is the very small dessert menu. We would be happy to come back and of course recommend your house.

The buffet is excellent and has lots of delicacies. We felt completely comfortable. The highlight were the fresh waffles, which you could garnish yourself, but even without toppings they were great.

Pizza extremely delicious. The outdoor area is great and relaxing thanks to the great location and enough distance between the individual tables.

Perfect location. Service excellent. Fast & friendly. That's why the 3 stars. The food - Barbequeen burgers and truffle fries - unfortunately MSN has to say, subterranean. The pattie really didn't taste like anything. The burger itself was totally dry. And anyone who has ever eaten truffle fries + truffle pomayo at the “Casador” in Hamelin knows what something like that should taste like. Unfortunately, that was miles away here. In summary - location great, food unfortunately zero stars 🤷‍♂️.
