Spreegold Mitte in Berlin

We went there for a work team dinner and the service was very attentive and friendly :) I had Peanut chicken bowl and it was delicious, the only suggestion is that it comes in a bigger bowl because I couldn’t even see what was inside and no possibility to mix it. Everything else was great, food very tasty, desserts very nice also. Not crowded and nice atmosphere.

The reviews are mixed. However, I wanted to see for myself. My conclusion: I would not visit the Spreegold again. I had the creamy soup. Taste OK, but only lukewarm. Also difficult to eat as the mushrooms in it were too big. Plus a peanut chicken bowl. The chicken was dry and the bowl was in the middle of the pack in terms of taste. Both came together. That didn't fit. The service was friendly but not attentive. I had to wait a really long time before I could pay even though the restaurant was almost empty.

Extensive menu with a huge selection of dishes. What's great is that there are seasonal specials. Unfortunately it was no longer possible to order one of these on a Saturday morning. The acoustics could be a little better, creating a relaxed conversation is difficult.

This restaurant is a fantastic find! The food is undeniably delicious – I especially loved the cheese omelette, which was cooked to perfection. However, the popularity of this place is a double-edged sword. While the quality is high, expect significant crowds and lengthy wait times for service. Be prepared for patience if you choose to dine here. Despite the wait, the delicious food makes it worthwhile for many, but it's something to keep in mind.

The place is crowded and it has a lot of waiting Make sure to order all of your orders including the desserts at the same time better to leave the coffee at the end of the breakfast because it's going to be cold since they are in rush and the food takes around 20 minutes to be ready sometimes take 25 The food is delicious and the avocado and the chicken tastes very good I would recommend the omelette with some stuffed cheese and extras

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the cuisine. I had the Bacon Egg Sambo, and my partner had the Avocado and eggs. The dishes were very cold in the service. The egg on my sandwich was way overcooked and the overall taste was bland. The value for money is therefore really bad. 40 euros for two passable breakfasts, it's disappointing.

On paper, it's a good restaurant. But ultimately not that much. A little expensive, which is not a problem when the quality is there. This was unfortunately not the case. The food was very cold, the eggs overcooked. Save your money and go have lunch at Coffee Fellows across the street.

Good Food for breakfast and lunch and very great service, the price is normaly. We was for lunch here and the soup and my burger was amazing, very fresh and healthy for a burger. We comeback. Thank you.

Yesterday I visited you with two friends. Because we liked it so much, we came back straight away today. The service staff are super friendly, we all enjoyed the food and the beer was also very tasty. 😉 We will definitely come back on our next visit to Berlin.

We came here for breakfast and the food was lovely. Such nice interior and great atmosphere. Our only complaint was that the service was quite slow but besides that, it was fantastic and I would still recommend. We had the porridge and the truffle pesto toast and eggs - delish!

Such a beautiful and quiet place for breakfast. The food was tasty, fresh and very good presentable. The service was pleasant and nice, our waitress was very nice. Location close to Alexanderplatz and very central. I do recommend this place when visiting Berlin for either breakfast or lunch.

Very friendly welcome, we had the chance to meet one of the room managers who was French, so it was both comfortable for us but also the opportunity to meet a very pleasant and professional young woman. Went there for a coffee but unfortunately got ripped off. We had ordered a cappuccino from the menu for €3.70 and expressed our surprise at the size of the drinks served, the size of a latte macchiato. The waitress commented: “Anyone can do small!”. Large cappuccinis were billed for €4.70 and are listed elsewhere on the menu. It's hard to believe that this was a misunderstanding since we expressed our surprise to the waitress. Intransparent menu and tricky waiters. Very bad experience, although the coffee was tasty!

Fantastic shop! Cool furnishings, super attentive and friendly staff, great breakfast! We stayed at the Motel-One opposite and after thinking about it for a while, decided to have breakfast at Spreegold. Our decision couldn't have been better. A really large selection of different breakfast offerings ended for us with a delicious Eggs Benedict and pancakes with berries. Lovingly prepared and tasted A1! We would have loved to try our hand at the entire menu. Our breakfast was rounded off with great coffee and a fresh orange juice.

Along with a yummy truffle gnocchi I had amazing service from Alouise today! She spoke German and English with me, Spanish with the table next to me and then French with a large party that entered! Best afternoon - thank you!

We had a stellar experience, with reasonably priced lovely food, friendly staff and a waitress, Eloise, who was an absolute star. She made perfect recommendations, was keen to help and accommodate all our requests, spoke fantastic English and sparkled with personality. We came in late, tired and hungry and she went out of her way to assist us. The place was cozy and nicely decorated for fall and perfect for a chilly evening after an unusually hot September day. Highly recommend and all the best to the whole crew!

Lovely breakfast with big portions delivered with great service!

Since we were staying at the hotel across the street, we didn't want to go far and chose the Spreegold. We had breakfast there and absolutely loved it. Everything suits you, price performance, friendliness and service. Angie gave us good advice and we will definitely come back. The green Shakshuka is particularly recommended.

The service was lovely! The food is not that expensive and the portions are quite big.

Super yummy! the staff are great and the food was excellent. A little pricy but definitely recommend for a nice brunch out. For the matcha fans, they have a great range and the nicest tasting matcha i’ve ever had! x

We had a spontaneous meal here in the evening, got a table quickly and the conditions were very friendly and attentive. The food and drinks were very good. The taco had a bit too much dip. Unfortunately, one taco wasn't enough to finish everything. The fried oyster mushrooms are very crispy and the truffle dip goes well with them. The lasagne was well seasoned and very tasty. However, there could have been a little more fresh basil for my taste. All in all, we had a lovely evening and would love to come back!

Went there one morning for breakfast, ordered a simple avocado bread and accidentally got one with eggs, which I wasn’t even mad about just told the person that brought it that it’s wrong and from that moment on my waitress developed a major attitude towards me, they obviously misheard my order as the two dishes also sound similar. They told me that the bread with eggs is what I ordered and I told them that I don’t even eat eggs…blaming the customer is never a solution and I work in service too. You don’t even have to say sorry just say it was a miscommunication or something but don’t get mad towards the customer…was a bit weird. Avocado bread “with salad” came with a few salad leaves around the bread it tasted good but for around 10€ not worth it. I won’t come back. Two stars instead of one for service though because the waitress from another table was super sweet and kind! Atmosphere two stars as I did not feel welcome after the waitresses change in attitude and the outside seating is also not very cozy. After paying the waitress also turned around immediately and walked away mumbling “have a nice day”

We went here for breakfast two days in a row. Very tasty food, the drinks are also delicious. Everyone will find something here. There was always a waiter nearby if you had a request. Totally recommended :)

The map is very confusing. I couldn't tell which dishes were sufficient as a full breakfast portion and which were not. The pancakes were delicious and luckily they were enough. Unfortunately, the waiters didn't know straight away what grain was in the bread. There is only one toilet per gender, which is not enough for such a large restaurant. The toilet seat in the men's toilet was so loose that you were afraid of falling off the toilet.

We had the pancakes, took a sometime until we got it, the pancakes were pretty dry and chewy. The atmosphere and staff were great, but the pancakes were very disappointing.

As someone with years of experience in the restaurant industry, I have to say that the service could be improved. Our waitress, a shorter woman with dark, curly hair, seemed uninterested. She literally threw a teaspoon at us, didn't wish us a good appetite, didn't smile once and didn't say goodbye to us. The food and the ambience were good.

Beautiful cafe and delicious breakfast options. The presentation is top notch so it the taste, it’s so difficult for dishes to taste good when they are so pleasing to the eye. But nothing disappoints!!! Loved the flavour, portion size. But items are not cheap by any means, sure you can get the lunch menu but who wants to have chicken curry at a non Indian restaurant. We got waffles, blueberry pancakes, paleo salad everything tasted great. Highly Recommended!!!!

I don’t want to be harsh, but unfortunately, they’re not spreeing gold. ☹️ The pancakes were made from a mix, not fresh, and served with canned fruit and dried banana chips. A star goes to the staff. Wouldn’t recommend it for brunch at all.

The food wasnt like on the reviews at all. We were very disappointed. The taste was bad and the presentation even worst. Benedict eggs with mayo insted of holland sauce..?? The staff is nice and kind that is the only plus I would say. The rest really bad. Lucky there are other places for breakfast. I would not recommend this place for breakfast. Sorry.

Food was nice! It was worth it to wait for it ( a bit long). We had Canadian pancakes, keto eggs, Benedicts with bacon and fruits. Juices were tasty. Around the restaurant is not that nice, but it’s okay.

The store sucks, you are resistant, oppressors, delete everything that has bad feedback, and there is still cash in this country and you want to suppress people from paying in cash, as long as cash is still available, it is our right to pay with it. The food itself was okay, but unfortunately the quality wasn't high enough to justify the high price given the small portions. The restaurant is modernly furnished and well maintained, but some areas are a bit dirty and appear worn. The service is attentive without being intrusive.

Exactly what we were looking for: super fresh and delicious. Had a salmon bowl and it didn't disappoint. The semi-dried tomato was a real taste explosion! Fair price and great service. I didn't find it loud either, but we weren't sitting under a box either.

The food was super good and the service was super friendly! BUT we were there in the summer and since it was raining we sat indoors. There was neither air conditioning nor fresh air there. Sorry, but it's really bad and a real indictment for the prices charged.

I’ve been there a couple of time over the last years, as well as the other Spreegold. It used to be a good place to have a breakfast or brunch. Prices were slightly above the normal prices but nothing THAT much out of the ordinary. But now… 16 to 24 euros for a salad? Really? 8,70 euros for a cheesecake that seems defrosted to me (and with a funny old taste)? The price/quality ratio is waaaaay to low in my mind. The worst is huge difference between the picture they show (Instagram, menu) and what you get. You will find other coffee shops 20 meters away does the same for half the price. I would not recommend this place at all. EDIT: the worst, the company has complained about my review saying I was defaming. I don't think this is how you should handle customer's feedback.

Great food selection! We went to breakfast and got the Green shakshuka and crispy Benedict dishes. Both excellent. The green juice is potently healthy and very good! Would come back again when we come back to Berlin.

We had bought some products, Bundt cake, cookie, cinnamon roll, porridge with nuts and berries, avocado bread. The cinnamon roll was super dry. Since we were there around 10 a.m., we suspect that the snail was simply from yesterday. An absolute no go for the price. It's okay that nothing should be thrown away, but then with transparent communication and a discount. There were two mini shreds of lettuce on the avocado bread, the rest was an incredible amount of dill and parsley, which you don't want to chew on and which completely overshadowed the avocado taste. That's not necessary, Strunks aren't pretty to look at either. Not worth the money for just under 10 euros. Unfortunately, the porridge was also pretty tasteless. The Gugelhupf is a bit too sweet and pretty standard, but you can also buy it cheaper. I remember Spreegold from a few years ago and I was thrilled - what happened? 😑 Unfortunately no more recommendation.

Incomprehensible. Everyone eats except one, the service was completely lost. It took 2 people to deliver ketchup and mayo to the fries. Unfortunately, the sauces only came when everyone was ready. Except for one of us, who is still waiting for his chili cheese burger today. Not recommended & too expensive for the poor service

Come not 😖 The new menu is so disappointing. Everything is very expensive, the portions are smaller than before, and the service was also normal but she didn’t make the effort to make it better! 🫠 We ordered Kaiserschmarr’n XXL to share between the three of us, and it was the same plate they gave us for the small portion less than two months ago! And because it was dry we wanted extra syrup but they brought us warm butter 😅 not normal !

There were four of us there for breakfast, there wasn't anything “normal” on the menu, I then ordered a croissant with cream cheese which looked delicious, but unfortunately tasted very strange. I don't expect perfect German from the service staff, but the fact that they don't even know what a tube/straw is or a hard-boiled egg is rather sad. It's a shame because the atmosphere is very nice.

Ordered the Eggs + Avocado Stack Bread, which was tasty BUT: you're paying +13€ for avocado toast with a bit of sauce, tomato, 2 eggs and some leafs as decoration. For that price you could easily serve at least two bread toasts, not just one. but also, if Spreegold is going to serve only one miserable toast (not a big one may I add) for +13€, then the least they could do is serve a well made plate. But nooo. On top of my toast were the two poached eggs and on top of them, a whole half avocado. Not cut in slices, not spread on my bread. A full half avocado on top of my poached eggs, and the tomato, sauce and leafs on the side. So like a deconstructed avocado toast? Had to carefully remove the two poached eggs from the bread so I could spread the avocado, then put the sauce and the tomatoes, the leafs and then put the eggs on top again. Either make me pay a fortune for a miserable single but well made avocado toast OR keep making horrible plates but that at least get you full for the price.

Amazing food, service and atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor seating. Extensive menu and bakery. Definitely something for everyone. We had breakfast and everything was expertly cooked and great coffees. Highly recommend!!

Too expensive for what it offers. Especially if you make the mistake of ordering water, you pay for it in gold. They only accept payment by card and at the end they have put in the POS that you leave them tips while the waiter is above your head and sees what you choose

Positive things first: The bowls are delicious! Negative things about food: The asparagus soup was a citric acid. I know it from “experience gastronomy” to cover up the fact that the soup already has a bite. I'm assuming that's not the case here, but it still wasn't tasty. The wild mushroom schnitzels came with some very burnt/black breading, but were otherwise relatively tasteless. About the service: Well.. he tries very hard. However, there were many indications that our waiter was neither trained nor experienced. It's a shame for us, but also a shame for him and the management. An experienced waiter could have generated significantly more sales and tips and, on top of that, ensured that people would recommend the restaurant to others. Unfortunately it remains a tourist shed with completely exorbitant prices.

Ordered crispy chicken salad. There was nothing crispy, little salad, lots of bread and the price for such a salad was in the top league! Service inattentive, disinterested! I'll keep a note of Spreegold - so I won't be disappointed again! And then card payment with an intrusive tip request!

We've been going to Spreegold for breakfast for years, but from now on we don't plan to do so anymore. The menu, with its already very high prices (for example a chocolate roll for around €5, 3 eggs Benedict with salad for €17!!!), has not only deteriorated but also drastically reduced in size. Who came up with the idea of ​​simply eliminating the most popular omelettes and replacing them with just one? The customer base has also (understandably) visibly shrunk. Please bring back the old, diverse and characterful menu, not the dreary and bland free layout that currently appears on the menu pages. As it stands now, Spreegold is just another expensive Berlin cafe. Really very unfortunate and totally incomprehensible to me as a customer why all the popular breakfast options are being removed. Back then there were great pictures of the dishes on the menu so that you could see what you were ordering. Of course, this has now been removed for “logical” reasons.
