We ate there last night, and you can expect good, home-style cooking. The drinks arrived promptly, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. Between ordering and eating, we played a round of darts. They politely pointed out that the food is freshly cooked and therefore might take a while. There were a lot of guests there, so we were able to fill the time by playing darts. The food portions are sufficiently large. However, I would have liked the plates to be a bit larger to make it easier to cut the schnitzel, for example. I think the prices are absolutely fair, but I would have liked to see portions for children. The portion of "Ossi" pasta is very large. Since there were no separate children's dishes, we opted for the pasta for our 8-year-old son. That would have fed three children. They also offered us a wrap, which I thought was very kind. Personally, I find that a bit awkward. Unfortunately, I didn't see that it was possible to order this as a children's portion. I would have liked to sit outside, but the weather wasn't cooperating. The outdoor area looks very inviting. Maybe next time... I'll definitely remember to take a photo of my meal for the review. My "Dead Grandma" was very tasty, well-seasoned, with potatoes and sauerkraut – cooked a bit too long – but still very tasty. We'd love to come back.

Great concept for reviving old classics. Our dishes were delicious, but some of them lacked a bit of pizzazz - it's supposed to taste like grandma's. <3 The schnitzel was really delicious. The solyanka as an appetizer was very good! The service was excellent. Stay tuned, the concept is great.

Today, after more than 30 years, we were back at our sports venue, the Südoststadion. Also known as the "Temple" among cyclists... it was a journey back in time. We used to race bikes here in the 80s. Nothing has changed... except that today we stopped by Oma Kuchinke's at the stadium and were very pleased with the menu and the service. Thank you very much. We would love to come back...

Everything was very nice, and the food was delicious. The Wiener schnitzel with fries and salad was incredibly tasty. The spicy meat was also amazing. You really feel at home here.

This is absolutely amazing and a brilliant idea. Food like your grandparents used to make with a regional twist. Not only that, but it's truly delicious. The service is fantastic and friendly. Even the sound system in the restrooms puts a smile on your face. It's clean, dogs are welcome, and you can watch the athletes sweating it out outside. We'll definitely be back when we're in the area. 5 stars for this thoroughly thoughtful restaurant.

A very nice restaurant. I will and will definitely return. I didn't get to try everything. The food was okay, the drinks, the service were excellent, and the price was reasonable.

We've been there twice since reopening this year. Once with my wife and daughter. We got a table spontaneously even though we hadn't reserved, and they made every effort to make it happen. We've also seen it differently at other garden pubs not far away... The chicken nuggets with fries looked like a meal (kids' meals are often a disaster...) and the nuggets were homemade, which makes parents happy too! Then we went again this Wednesday with a few friends. We sat outside first, then played a few cards inside until the end. Everything was great, delicious food, several types of beer on tap, and a few different ones than usual. The same applies to the dishes: traditional but also dishes we haven't had in a while. Nice service and even a good chat with the owner. Keep up the good work, you're in for a treat 👍

We spontaneously met up with friends at Grandma's four days ago. It was our first visit since Kuno and Hasi. We were absolutely thrilled with the varied menu and the friendly service. We only ate one Würzi each, but the dessert (cold dog and pancake) left us with a permanent grin that still lingers today. We've filed a complaint for the flavor explosion! 😉😉. Never again. Not because of the offer, but because the manager of the shop is hanging out in the outdoor area with his friends from the neo-Nazi scene. Questionable tattoos on the edge of what is legally permissible and relevant scene clothes like Thor Steinar leave little room for other interpretations. It's a shame that the club tolerates something like that.

As a restaurateur, I can only be honest, the food is very tasty and served very professionally, calmly, relaxed, etc. I felt like I was on vacation, especially the waitress with short blonde hair is very, very well-groomed and totally friendly... We spontaneously went to the new operator and were very positively surprised. Nice service, delicious food / home-style and at the end there was a drink recommendation (salty grapefruit). It was a completely successful visit. Gladly again.

Our first visit since the change of operator and you can feel the breath of fresh air in the house. We were very impressed with the food, everything was tasty. The staff is smart and on point, you won't suffer from thirst here. We'd love to come back!

After a disparaging look at my Asian friend, we were informed that all (unoccupied) tables (i.e. all inside) were reserved and therefore there was no space for the two of us. At 5:00 p.m.! We certainly won't go to Grandma Kuchinke again... What a shame.

Unfortunately, the kitchen was already closed at 9 p.m. on April 29, 2025. Was sent away. Should come back tomorrow. I idiotically drove back to the restaurant today, April 30, 2025 at 6 p.m. Today everything outside was reserved. When I asked if I could eat inside with my three other family members, I was told that I should leave. So...they said it would take 1.5 hours until you got something and they advised you to come again. Funny, because at that time all the tables outside were reserved but only half occupied. It's a shame for the guests who have reserved and, according to the logic, have to wait 1.5 hours. I'm now in Cafe Grundmann. I don't have to drive out by car to do this. Schnitzel and other specialties are available here within 20 minutes. Despite the house being fully booked. Are allowed to use a reserved table.

We just wanted to test the successors to Kuno&Hasi and were very optimistic because the reviews so far sounded really good. So we went to “Grandma Kuchinke” on Sunday at 7 p.m. There we were asked to wait a moment. Then the waiter came back and didn't take us to one of the free tables, but asked us to leave because the kitchen would be overloaded because the outdoor area was full. Even our objection that we had time and could wait a bit before eating could not soften him. It's a shame, I imagine hospitality to be something different. We then went to Theo's "Ambrosia". As always, we received a very friendly welcome and were very well looked after.

Congratulations on the “Best Schnitzel in Leipzig” award! Another request to the guests who are dissatisfied with a longer wait for their food: freshly prepared and high-quality dishes take a little longer and the enjoyment of the excellent food makes up for it.

Went to the family Easter dinner. We were warmly welcomed. The menu is good local cuisine. We ate brawn and asparagus and were really very full afterwards.

We have been regular guests since it reopened. For us a wonderful restaurant according to old rules. The service is so wonderful, you can talk to her freely. Excellent! The food is plentiful and simply bomb, that's how old cooking works. Absolute recommendation! I'm always happy when I get to come here!

The food is on point, with a small and regional menu. Hopefully the quality stays this good for a long time.

It's wonderfully quiet to sit in, the children can run and play on the adjacent sports field and the service and food are excellent!

After the renovation, well what can I say six out of five, really, really cool! This is an Ossi restaurant, our gentleman would be a regular there! The guy at the bar is a machine! And the service? Straight away and totally likeable, just like it is here in the East. You can have a nice meal there in the evening, you can come and watch football. I mean, there's still a perfectly normal sausage soup here - I'll find it somewhere today!

Absolute recommendation! The new restaurant is off to a great start – great service, great food! You notice immediately: everything is freshly cooked, with great attention to detail. After many very positive stories from our circle of friends and acquaintances, we have now met the new operators of the athletes' home. We were greeted very friendly, the drinks menu is, in contrast to the old operator, more extensive and you can freely choose between 5 types of beer on tap, the food was very rich, freshly prepared and damn tasty - price/performance all thumbs up👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 At the end, we have to say that it was a wonderful visit to the restaurant for us with very friendly bar staff/waiters who always showed a smile and we always had the feeling that they enjoyed their work and that they harmonized very well as a team - please stay like that and we will now watch the Bundesliga and Champions League broadcast more regularly 👍👍👍

We spontaneously had dinner here with our two children. The cuisine is good, home-style. The portions are large in terms of price-performance ratio. Everyone was fed very well. In terms of ambience, it's just a sports restaurant. If you're hungry and just want to eat something, this is the right place for you, even with children.

We were there for the first time today. We were thrilled in every respect. We now come regularly and recommend it to others.

I was a big fan of the old team, the drinks were great, the employees were incredibly friendly and the catering was great including lots of vegetarian options! So it works! That's why I'm a little sad that the new operator's new menu doesn't offer anything vegetarian except for one dish, even though that's so easy today. I hope this will be adjusted and I'll be happy to come back!

Unfortunately, far too expensive for the “quantity” on the plate. Culinary upper class, which wants to be celebrated here, is unsuitable for a sports restaurant. If you then charge two euros extra for changing side dishes (fries to fried potatoes) and have to look for the fried potatoes on the plate because the side salad bowl is also on the plate, my understanding stops. Are not saturated (!!) out of there 🤷🏻‍♂️ Sorry, with all your kindness, that's not going well. Anyway, good luck 🙋🏻‍♂️

New operators, old concept? Can this work according to Kuno&Hasi? The new operators have carefully remodeled the restaurant, giving the restaurant a new touch and creating its own beautiful charm. The hall was expanded (video screen & darts). The menu is still German cuisine, wonderful and very tasty, freshly prepared (schnitzel would be pounded). Drink selection is also fantastic. Prices great and service very nice and helpful. Nothing can really go wrong. We'll be back. P.S. For vegetarians the selection is quite small. Maybe a veggie burger to choose from?

Not exactly friendly. I give the food 3 stars because it is certainly delicious, but we didn't even get to eat. It's one thing if it's busy and you need to inform customers that the food might take longer. But in service it always depends on how you say something. First we were unkindly asked if we had made a reservation, then as a matter of principle we had to wait 5 minutes to take a food order and only accept drinks. And to the completely normal and friendly question about how long the meal might take, the answer is "we're not at McDonalds here". We've never felt so unwelcome anywhere and we're really not people who like to complain just to complain. We understand that everyone has a stressful or bad day, but if you work in this area you should still try to remain somewhat friendly. We work with customers every day and manage it. We won't come here again. It's a shame because we just moved here and the restaurant is around the corner.

You wouldn't think it, but this small, inconspicuous restaurant still offers really good traditional food and drinks at an affordable price. The service is friendly and quick and the food tastes really fantastic. Keep it up!

A place where hospitality is still taken literally. We were able to sit in the lovingly furnished beer garden in wonderful weather. A great menu makes you want to eat something. We received very tasty food on attractively designed plates. The chef knows his craft. The service is quick and communicative. That's joy. It was a relaxing afternoon for us. Thank you very much.

Hasi googled me using the identity card, called my former place of work, reported that the wallet had been found and left his phone number. Nice, quaint sports bar. We were there with 2 children, schnitzel with fries was plentiful and was well received by the children. The cauliflower was well prepared and the farmer's breakfast is also recommended. Recommendation for a delicious meal in a rustic atmosphere.

Hallo, was das Ambiente angeht ist alles sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Wir haben draußen gesessen war in Ordnung. Der Service und das Essen waren allerdings top da gibt's nix zu meckern. Gute Auswahl an Gerichten+Tagesangebote. Immer einen flotten Spruch auf den Lippen aber nicht zynisch sondern eher zum schmunzeln. Trotz dem Ambiente sehr empfehlenswert 👍🏻

Buon cibo ad un prezzo onesto e buona anche la birra! Fanno anche, come piatto tipico, le rane. Ho visto che, in alcuni tavoli, giocavano a un gioco con i dadi. Conviene andare presto o prenotare, soprattutto la sera, perché la cucina chiude verso le 21. Consigliato!

Wie immer super lecker und der Service einfach nur super. Draußen sitzt es sich wirklich toll, der Freisitz ist gemütlich und urig. Innen ist es so lala, etwas ungemütlich und unnahbar aber das gute Essen macht es wieder wett.

Absolut spitze. Eine echte Perle am Rand des Parks. Das Würzfleisch war genial. Beef mit Letscho als spezialgericht top.
