Spitzwegstube in Saarbrücken

I eat at Schwanenkönig regularly and am always impressed by the quality of the food and the great service. The food is very tasty and freshly prepared. The menu is always supplemented by seasonal dishes so that the selection never gets boring and there are always special dishes on the menu that I particularly like. The service is great. Special requests (fried potatoes instead of fries, etc.) are always taken into account. You feel comfortable there and it's almost family-like because the Schwanenkönig has permanent staff. Even if I'm only there every 4 weeks, they always remember my favorite drink etc., that's something.

“Food” without rating because no consumption took place. The service/customer treatment is evaluated. We wanted to book the “Wine Event Bar” for a wedding celebration (request for 15-20 people). Since we did not yet have all the information to calculate the costs and the promised wine list was only sent to us 4 days after the viewing, we were not yet able to make a binding booking. With the wine list (2:40 p.m.) we should give a short feedback/binding confirmation based on further inquiries by the evening. We responded at short notice with a further request for information and asked for an extension of this deadline until the following evening, on which we then agreed. After we hadn't received any response to our reservation request almost 2 days later, I asked them again. I was informed that the room had now been reserved for another, smaller (12+2 children) group. Our contact person would be ill (didn't get in touch afterwards or ask for understanding) and 20 people wouldn't fit in the room (quote from the website: "In our wine event bar you can comfortably and comfortably with up to 20 people celebrate in a private atmosphere.") ... There weren't enough cake sets either. We never settled on the number “20.” We were offered a place in the main restaurant and should come and take a look. If I had any questions about the new location, which we didn't yet know, I contacted the managing director again. But since she didn't have time, she wanted to contact us again the next few days. After she didn't manage to do this either, we went there a week later, looked at the room and talked to the daughter. Since she didn't know anything about the matter, she wrote everything down. She wanted to talk to our previous contacts, the managing mother and her partner, and get in touch again. Here too, and thus from the third (!) person, we have not heard anything more to this day. We still canceled.

We ordered four plates. The first plate was served cold and then just warmed up. The others were brought much later. The waiters didn't even apologize. The boss said that they will try to serve better next time.

The taste is authentic. Atmosphere is really nice. But I think it should be more options😊
