As always: a lovely evening with delicious food in a beautiful setting.

We sat outside. It was lovely there. The service and food were great!

Unfortunately, sometimes you make a mistake, and last Friday at the Rosenbar, it was quite obvious. ☹️ It started with friendly service and good cocktails, but from then on, the process was only second choice. We ordered the set menu, and the process was rather mediocre. The restaurant was busy, and the wait times between courses, especially for the main course, were extremely long. After a few inquiries from us, they promised to take care of it. From then on, the wait staff was visibly uncomfortable coming to the table. Eventually, the meal was served, and dessert came extremely quickly afterward—it seemed as if it were a case of eat it and get out of there. Which we did. It's been a really long time since I didn't tip when paying, and it was absolutely not appropriate here! I won't be giving it a second try. It's a shame, really...

The Rose Bar has been located in the former Rose Pharmacy since 2019. The furnishings are listed as historical monuments and create a truly special atmosphere. The service was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, and the "Café Gourmand" is the perfect way to end your meal. Both vegetarian and vegan options are available.

Great restaurant, great ambiance, super delicious food. The music in the dining area was okay, but a bit too loud; it could be turned down a bit for conversation. But otherwise, it's top notch. We'll be back.

I can only give this place four full marks because I had a fantastic evening from start to finish! Upon entering, I received such a warm welcome that I immediately felt at home. The food came quickly, even though the restaurant was packed. I ordered bruschetta and, for the main course, a fillet of beef with a port wine sauce that was mouthwateringly delicious. In short, if you're looking for a treat for yourself, this is the place for you! Thank you for the wonderful evening ☺️🌹

Very nice ambience, as many here describe. Unfortunately, the two of us were seated at a table for six, despite having a reservation (for two). Only later did we notice the many (free) sweet corners by the pool that we could have used. Overall, I wasn't entirely satisfied with the food. The taste was good, but the desserts were significantly overpriced for the small amount. The cocktails were missing cane sugar. Furthermore, and this bothered me most, a waiter touched my shoulder in a friendly manner while serving me. I also found the service a bit overambitious. The fact that they sat down with us at the table at the end to pay the bill was unprofessional, too. All in all, I think €60 for two drinks per person and a small snack each... steep.

The former Rosen Pharmacy has been redesigned into a very good restaurant. Its rustic ambiance is very pleasant. Professional service and excellent food are definitely good value for money. Everything is just perfect, even the drink prices are very reasonable for the city center. Always worth a visit.

The terrace was closed without any indication when booking! The restaurant is very small, the service very slow, we had 2 prawns and 2 pieces of bread without accompaniment for 15 euros, no taste it's a shame because the service was ok!

For me, this is one of the best restaurants in Saarbrücken. The staff is always friendly, accommodating, and in a good mood. The food is very good, and the value for money is definitely good. When the weather allows you to sit outside, you quickly forget that you're in the middle of the city.

We had a wonderful evening in a cozy atmosphere, especially with our two dogs on the outdoor terrace. Great cocktails, and above all, excellent food. I recommend booking, especially on weekends. I highly recommend it.

The server was so rude and pushy. When I told him that I’d need a few minutes to look over the menu and he told me to hurry up. Never had service like this before Saarbrucken! Also, while I finished my wine I notice how pleasant he was to the other white customers. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE

We had a very pleasant evening at the Rosenbar. From the food to the service, everything was impeccable. The menu is quite small, but the selection is perfectly adequate. I also think the price/performance ratio is very fair. All in all, a great restaurant in Saarbrücken that is definitely worth a visit.

I don't know where to start. We reserved a table online (Saturdays) We were then told on site that we had to sit outside, which we didn't really like. It was quite cool outside. There has to be a better solution! The restaurant shouldn't decide whether I sit inside or outside. This must be clearly communicated when making the reservation or clearly described online. When we were at our seat outside, we made it clear that we would like to sit inside as soon as something became available. Of course this was forgotten. After asking, after an hour, we were brought in. Luckily, because it was pretty cold and unfortunately we had to see a rat running up the wall outside on the terrace. The restaurant doesn't even have to be able to do anything about it, but it's still not nice to look at. We waited an incredible 1:45 hours for our food!!! Never experienced anything like this. We were very patient and asked after 1:30 hours. People always tried to find excuses. It's not like it's very busy and everything was ordered at the same time and that's why it's taking so long. I have to say. As a guest it's not my problem. All other restaurants have the same problem. As I said, the food came after 1:45 hours!! The food tasted okay but nothing special. That's why there's one star. Unfortunately, we weren't the only dissatisfied guests in the store. Our next table complained that the meat wasn't medium rare but relatively raw, and the shrimp weren't completely cooked through. The waiter took the plates to the kitchen and then came back. The kitchen then said that the meat was medium rare and the prawns were perfectly fried. Of course the guests had a different opinion and the mood afterwards was accordingly. Of course you have to say that the waiter was the poorest pig because he had to justify himself everywhere. But maybe it would have been the better option to simply not always look for excuses and accept that things won't get better. We definitely won't eat here again and hope that no one has to have such an experience. Best regards

Leider wird man 2h30 rausgeschmissen. Zuerst wird der Umsatz mitgenommen, und wenn man noch schön beim Wein sitzen möchte...keine Chance Schade, dass hier das Motto nur Commerz ist!!!! Werde ich nicht mehr besuchen!!!!

So when we were there we received a very nice welcome, all the waiters I met there were very nice and the food and drink was also very tasty. Actually I'm not doing a review but it was just perfect and you just felt comfortable and happy because of the nice people and the very good food and the fresh cocktail.

Heute waren wir zum ersten Mal hier und wählten das Lunch-Angebot. Für schlappe 19,90 € bekamen wir die Trüffelpasta mit einem Salat vom Buffet sowie einem Dessert. Wir nahmen einen leckeren alkoholfreien Aperitif dazu sowie den Auxerrois des bekannten saarländischen Bio-Winzers Ollinger. Für Präsentation der Gerichte, Geschmack und das gute Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist die Punktzahl absolut verdient. Der freundliche Service tut hier sein Übriges, um den Aufenthalt sehr angenehm zu gestalten.

I like the restaurant, but... When we went last time, I reserved a table. And upon arriving, the put us in some ugly area near the door where ppl go smoking. That part of the restaurant looked very unpleasant, with no decor, dirty plain walls etc. Another couple near us even left immediately after getting similar table. I'd rather you tell me that you don't have a free table, than give me such a "surprise" and put us in a goblin hole and your waiter refusing to do anything/pretending that this is acceptable in this price bracket. **Our experience in the restaurant – mixed impressions** We went to this restaurant twice. The first visit was wonderful - the table was ideal in the main room near the bar, the service was attentive, the food was tasty and the drinks were excellent. It was one of the best restaurant experiences in the city, which is why we would give it 5 out of 5. The second time we reserved a table online for 8 p.m. and arrived at an almost empty restaurant. The main hall was completely empty, but a member of staff immediately led us into a small, secluded room. She then asked us to go back to the entrance and wait while she prepared the table - we waited about five minutes. We politely asked twice if we could sit by the window in the main hall, but were refused. This was understandable, as other guests may have already reserved these tables, but the room we were led into was terrible. It felt like we were in two completely different places: the first was cozy and deserved a rating of 10 out of 10, while the second was more reminiscent of a train station snack bar. Our table was right next to a door through which guests were constantly coming and smoking, and the smell of smoke was very unpleasant. The walls were dirty and there were holes in the ceiling, giving the impression of neglect. The atmosphere left a lot to be desired, so we wanted to eat dinner and leave as quickly as possible - although the quality of the food and drinks remained high. For 51 euros we ordered 2 warm main courses and 2 drinks. We also planned to order desserts and possibly additional drinks, but our important evening was ruined and we refrained from ordering any more. We left the restaurant after 45 minutes as the room was extremely unpleasant. We could have spent more if the owners had taken care of this room by dividing the door with a curtain, cleaning the walls, repairing the ceiling, and creating a cozier atmosphere with appropriate lighting and decor. Our overall rating for this place has now dropped to 2 out of 5. We understand that in the future you should call in advance to reserve a place in the good hall. However, it may be better to choose a restaurant where you are guaranteed to receive adequate service, good food and a pleasant atmosphere - especially if the average price is above average. *Note: The photos in this report are from our second visit.*

Simply a wonderful place: a bar and restaurant surrounded by the furniture of the old Rosen Apotheke, combined with modern flair. Then the food: Italian-inspired starters, a selection of burger variants (including a vegan falafel burger) and a few high-quality meat dishes such as real Wiener schnitzel or steak. Delicious! The drinks menu shows a wide selection, as befits a bar. Everything nicely served and arranged. I'm thrilled :)

Sehr schön gemacht. Vor allem der Innenhof Mega schön. Essen ist super, aber ich kenne auch die Köchin und darf ihr super Essen auch privat genießen. Sehr nette Leute. Kann ich nur empfehlen.

I was there with my husband on New Year's Eve and was expecting a 5-course menu with champagne accompaniment. Were there at 7 p.m. and only got 2 small oysters at 8 p.m. and no trace of champagne! We made it to the third course and then we left, it was 10:30 p.m. and we were still hungry! And €240 less, I think this was our last visit there!

Can't rate the outside area because we were only inside and it was pretty narrow and not very comfortable. The food took a long time and wasn't anything special. Service was good, but seemed "artificial/over the top" for my taste.

Ein Familienabend zum Vergessen! Eigentlich wollten wir am 1. Adventswochenende den 87. Geburtstag meiner Mutter feiern, aber der Abend endete in einem Albtraum. Mein Essen war schlecht, das Fleisch zäh, die Pommes nur noch lauwarm, der Salat meiner Frau leider ungenießbar, weil viel zu ölig und die Ziegenkäsetaler nur noch Gummi, da diese ebenfalls nicht mehr warm genug serviert wurden. Die Bedienung war in dem proppenvollen Restaurant spürbar überfordert, aber den Gipfel an Dreistigkeit leistete sich die Chefin des Restaurants, die mit einem anwesenden Familienmitglied befreundet ist. Kurz nach 21:00 Uhr teilte sie meiner Nichte mit, dass es wohl durch einen Fehler des Restaurants eine doppelte Buchung gab und sie bat darum unseren Tisch für 8 Personen möglichst schnell ein weites Mal vergeben zu können für 2 Tische à 4 Personen wartende Gäste. Wir hatten zu diesem Zeitpunkt gerade die Hauptspeise hinter uns und noch einige Desserts bestellt und bereits für einen nicht unerheblichen Tagesumsatz gesorgt. Ich kann mich nicht daran erinnern schon jemals so dreist zum schnellen Beenden eines Restaurantbesuchs aufgefordert zu werden. Dieses Restaurant wird mich mit dieser Inhaberin jedenfalls niemals wieder als Gast zu Gesicht bekommen! Es hat mich eine Menge an Selbstbeherrschung gekostet, meine Unzufriedenheit nicht so lautstark vor Ort zu artikulieren, wie es eigentlich angebracht gewesen wäre, aber meiner Mutter war es unangenehm genug, herauskomplimentiert zu werden.

Unfortunately disappointing service – not recommended I ordered from the Rosenbar online shop, but the promised delivery date was not met. Questions about my order were impossible because I could only reach the associated restaurant by phone, where my concerns were only relayed verbally. Unfortunately, my email inquiries remained unanswered. The customer service left a lot to be desired and I had the impression that there was little interest in customer concerns. Overall a very disappointing experience - I would strongly advise against ordering here.

Currently there is a big social media and advertising offensive, unfortunately there is little behind it. Vegan antipasti variation consists of the same bread that is already available with aioli, which is already available anyway, a bruschetta and olives. Not very imaginative. The salads (Rosenbar and Fregola) differ marginally. The price of €25 if you also order beef fillet tips is clearly too high for what is on offer. Estimated not 100g of meat, 2 cocktail tomatoes and some leaf lettuce certainly doesn't justify the price. Ambiance at the front was great, at the back it was rather normal with annoyingly bright lighting. Service okay.

This place is always packed when we walk past. This evening was our first time. Love the deco with the ambiance of an old pharmacy. Lots of choices of alcohol and cocktails. Service is super friendly. In the bathroom, there are nicely folded individual hand towels for the guests. They serve some baguette with Tsatziki (very good) as a greeting from the kitchen. We ordered a truffle burger and steak pasta, both delicious but a bit too salty. Overall, a lovely place to spend a nice evening.

I've been to the Rosenbar several times and every single visit has been wonderful. The atmosphere both inside the old pharmacy and outside in the courtyard is great. The service is top and pleasantly relaxed. The portions are reasonable for the prices and everything has always tasted very good!

Beautiful courtyard, also beautifully decorated inside...Hamburger with fries, manageable portion at 16 euros, too expensive, in my opinion, there were burgers for over 20 euros

I can't say anything about the bar as such because I haven't been there yet! But during a visit to Saarbrücken I had delicious nightcaps! Cherry and plum! Awesome, I've rarely had something so delicious! 😃 I immediately googled where you could order the nightcaps! These are produced by the Mosel Distille and can be ordered via the Rosenbar online shop! No sooner said than done! After initially having some problems with the order, everything finally got sorted out thanks to the help of Mr. Bonfiglio! Thank you very much again for that! 👏 The cooperation with the return was also great! 👍 I'll order there again and hope it works out straight away! 🙏

Great service! Very friendly and personable as well as attentive. Unique ambience in the old pharmacy and great outdoor area. Very good value for money, especially for the beef steak! I've been a guest three times so far and all the dishes were perfect. Clear recommendation!

Absolutely beautiful. Food is really quite good too. But you really save money on alcohol. We ordered the Illusionist Gin with Tonic and even though I know the gin, I'm sure it wasn't in the drink. It usually impresses with the fact that it turns purple after mixing it with tonic. It was clear and the gin is actually blue. Was there even gin in the glass? Questions about questions. Furthermore, it is to be expected that the waiters are familiar with the range on offer. We basically had to explain our own booking system to him. Everything is rather suboptimal. Sure it's nice there, but unfortunately the details aren't right at all.

The location is of course unbeatable - a former pharmacy as a bar and then with such a beautifully designed courtyard - that's hard to beat! We have been here many times and are never disappointed. The dishes are all super tasty and beautifully presented, there is a great selection of drinks (sometimes with slightly different drinks beyond Aperol Spritz or Hugo). The service is great - friendly, attentive and creates a good atmosphere. We keep coming back!

On Saturday we were guests at the Rosenbar in Saarbrücken with friends. It makes a difference to convert a pharmacy into a restaurant. The weather also played along and you sat in the Backyard is simply gorgeous. As a starter we ordered the antipasti platter, which was very tasty. Main course was truffle pasta and steak with fries. Both were very tasty. What was a little annoying was unfortunately a waitress who came across as a bit annoyed. Otherwise, I can only recommend the Rosenbar. The prices were also ok, we paid around €200 with four people. I think that's totally fine 👍🏽

Our last visit to the restaurant was a bit mixed. First we had a table outside right by the pool. Actually a nice location, if the pool hadn't looked pretty murky and unkempt. Well, we weren't there to swim, but it was still unsightly. Secondly, the pigeons in the tree above us objected to our presence and s***ted on some of our fellow guests. Of course the restaurant can't do anything about that, but a pavilion or awning over the tables under the tree would help. We were then given a table inside. It took a very long time until we got our food, and that's why the waitress gave us an extensive greeting from the kitchen (which was also confirmed to us when we asked about the accuracy), which was then taken away from us again 5 minutes later by another waitress, because it was an oversight and it was an order from another table. Since we had already eaten some of it, the fact that it is either thrown away or presented to the actual recipient in a pretty way doesn't exactly speak well for the restaurant. It wasn't our mistake and we would have honored it accordingly when tipping. The food itself, which was ultimately really for us, tasted excellent. But I'll have to think twice about whether it justifies a return visit.

Waited 2 hours for the food. Food was cold and sometimes wrong. The managing director turns around and sends his staff forward to clarify the whole thing. I have no idea how this restaurant got such good reviews.

Were there today with 6 people and 2 small children. Otherwise there were really few guests for a Saturday evening. Nevertheless, unfortunately I had a bad experience there. First of all, the positive: the atmosphere is quite nice. Food quite good. In terms of price, however, it is also in the higher segment, which means that this is of course expected. Beef fillet quite small, could really be a bit more. Other dishes such as burgers and pasta are good in size. Everything really tasted good. We were also lucky enough to be served by a really friendly lady. She did her job really well👍 But now to the negative: Although the restaurant next to us was almost empty from 7 p.m. (except for 2 gentlemen who were eating a salad, a table with 4 young people and two guests drinking cocktails outside), the food really took forever. Maybe the reason why there was so little going on? Really frightening for a Saturday evening. You should think about it. Of course, you shouldn't be surprised if the children get a little louder at the table - after all, it's boring. I would also like to point out again that they were really quite small (one was just 2 years old), but they still had fun and said it loudly from time to time, but actually everything was within reason. Anyone who has children of their own can follow me. And that's exactly where the problem lies. The restaurant is absolutely not recommended for families with children!! The other 7 young male service staff probably felt disturbed by the children. The nice female waitress was then sent ahead to tell us that we should rein in the children more. Apparently guests complained, which is almost unimaginable considering that we were almost alone in the restaurant and the few other guests were even sitting much further back. In my opinion, people here want to be more than they are and can be! Conclusion: Food ok, but not outstanding either. Waiting time catastrophic. Unfriendly for children! We definitely won't be coming back.

So the cocktails and the food are super delicious. However, the piece of fillet could have been a little larger, especially because it was really very good and perfectly fried. The portion of noodles, on the other hand, is quite large. The food came quickly and the service was always attentive and quick, if a bit cold. The atmosphere is great, very cozy and beautiful. As already complained in other reviews, I would have liked to have the salad before the main course and not with it. We would definitely like to come back :)

The restaurant may be good, but the service in the shop is the last!!! When the order was paid, too little was delivered. There was no response to multiple written complaints for weeks. The phone call did not lead to any further processing.
