Spindler in Berlin

The portion was really a joke. 16 euros for half a toast (really half a toast) with two eggs and some hollandise sauce. Plus 3 potatoes that come from the Shire. Never again!

It's a great brunch place, the food and the coffee menu are successful, definitely don't pass by!

For me, the Spindler on Paul-Lincke-Ufer is one of the best French-inspired restaurants in Berlin - for both breakfast and dinner. The stylish interior, the warm, competent service and, above all, the excellent cuisine are convincing across the board. At dinner we tried French black pudding on fine mashed potatoes with apple compote - perfectly balanced, creamy, spicy, with a balanced sweetness and sourness. I chose duck breast in beer sauce with bok choy and a classic French potato gratin. The duck breast was wonderfully fried pink, tender and aromatic, the gratin - with thinly layered potatoes in cream - was a dream. The lobster bisque starter was also intense, elegant and complemented with loving details such as saffron aioli and shrimp. The dessert – mousse au chocolat made from 70 percent chocolate – had an intense yet delicate taste, and the portion was perfectly sized. Even the little details are right: the fresh sourdough bread, the excellent cappuccino and the stylish presentation of each dish. I think the prices are absolutely fair for the quality offered - it's not for nothing that Spindler is one of the 50 best restaurants in Germany according to OpenTable. If you want to experience a special evening in Berlin, this is the right place for you.

We sat in the restaurant for nearly an hour. The food, including the starter and the main course (steaks), arrived after an hour and was cold. The waitress didn’t apologize and even tried to argue Definitely we don’t recommend. .

Nos sentamos durante 40 minutos esperando 5 platos. Después de preguntar qué estaba pasando, llegaron los filetes que estaban fríos, así como los espárragos que se sirven completamente no calientes. La camarera no puso la mesa. cuando nos quejamos de que habíamos estado esperando y la comida estaba fría, discutió y dijo que pediría a la cocina que lo calentara pero el plato ya no sería como pedimos y llevaría tiempo. Ella no se disculpó por un momento. Pagamos por las bebidas y nos fuimos.

The restaurant has a great ambience. We were there for Easter brunch and sat outside. With the building's warm weather, lilac bushes and Mediterranean architecture, it felt like you were on vacation in France. The staff was very nice, although some only spoke English. The taste of the food was also very good. However, I unfortunately have to say that I find 16 euros for two pancakes a bit overpriced. I ordered the savory version with fried egg and bacon. The two slices of bacon were simply slapped onto the pancake - unfortunately, lovingly prepared looks different.

Loved it! ❤️ The interior design was beautiful and I especially loved the paintings! We had croissants 🥐 and coffee ☕️ and both was delicious 😋 definitely more on the pricey side! The staff was kind and helpful. Would definitely come back and try breakfast here 🥞

18 euros for a slice of bread. There used to be twice as much. That was a bit disappointing today. Apparently the owner has changed.

Nuestro último almuerzo en Berlín antes de ir al aeropuerto. Absolutamente gran ambiente, lleno de lugareños todos pasándolo muy bien. Nuestro almuerzo era delicioso y el patrón Frank nos dio excelentes recomendaciones y nos trasladó al sol cuando hacía calor fuera. Sin duda visitaría Spindler en nuestro próximo viaje - maravilloso ambiente y hospitalidad.

One of the best places in Berlin to have a delicious breakfast. Great food, great interior design. Everything would be even better if you could There would be 1-2 more service staff here on weekends. There are simply not enough staff for the number of guests.

We've had better days in Spindler. Food hop and top. Steak great, beef bourguignon dry and disappointing. Staff between studious and cool/impersonal. The big thing: from 9.30 p.m. all the tables and chairs around you on the terrace are cleared away and folded up, even though they are open until 11.30 p.m. No motivation to repeat any time soon. Too bad...

if you’re looking for an amazing brunch spot, Spindler is the place to be. The service is kind and attentive, food is delicious, cocktails are amazing and the location is perfect. “Something English” had one of the best sausages i’ve had in a long time and the cocktail was definitely something to write home about 🤍

Were there for brunch on the weekend. Unfortunately it took 1 hour until we had the Eggs Florentine. Why does it take 1 hour for an egg on toast? This is unacceptable as you come for brunch/breakfast without eating anything first. My companion had circulatory problems because it took so long. It wasn't full either, the service was just too slow. The service then also forgot to bring extra plates and behaved as if it wasn't a problem. No apology, just casually noticed that the plates hadn't been brought. It's a shame, otherwise it could be a top store if it were managed more professionally. Price performance ratio not good.

The atmosphere is wonderful, its clean and stylish. But I agree that prices are way too high for the taste. Maybe we were not lucky, but cesar salad was too salty, I ordered extra chicken for 9 eur and got a tiny (around 100 grams) piece of chicken including 2 bones. Not to mention it was a bit dry and salty…

The cheese plate isn’t exactly a feast for the eyes but they offer a good selection, each one delicious. One of best spots around to enjoy the sun

We were the first guests for breakfast in the morning. Everything was absolutely delicious and the service was really friendly. The busier the store became, the more service deteriorated. We didn't get several drinks because they were simply forgotten. The store is very attractively decorated with beautiful pictures that can be purchased using a QR code. Despite the increasing stress level, the service always remains friendly, so that minor mistakes are readily forgiven.

The food was served almost cold. Definitively overpriced for the quality they offered.

A nice end to our Berlin trip. Beautiful restaurant on the historic Paul-Linke-Ufer. We were very nicely guided through the evening. The starters (scallop, octopus carpaccio) were really strong, but unfortunately the meat didn't score well in the grill menu with three side dishes and the creme brulee had a super subtle vanilla note, but the caramelization wasn't quite successful. The evening was still very nice and enjoyable, hence the five stars.

Our two meat courses where way over salted, the vegetarian courses where so unbalanced that it was nauseating and we had to get fries to even it out. The waiter forgot us twice, first with the wine and then with our food so we sat there a solid hour before getting served and with this price level you would expect much more. Also tried for over two weeks to get a copy of our receipt but impossible to get a reply. Nice place and location but this ruined our evening so can’t recommend at all.

Food is tasty, but unfortunately not a taste explosion. We had the Roseline and Avocado & Egg Tartine with an extra egg. The portions are very small for the high price. We also paid €5.80 for an egg - that's really incredibly expensive. The rating for food and ambience speaks for itself - average, nothing more, and actually too expensive for that. About the service: The staff was friendly, but one employee spoke almost no German, and another employee was lost when we wanted to know more about the wine. The time since the restaurant opened could have been used for a language course. I feel like I'm being treated badly as a guest when no effort is made to communicate. The moules frites were only served with a bowl of lemon slices and water upon request, which was actually a given. The water was also scalding hot. Furthermore, our table was not cleared for fifteen minutes after the meal was finished. This is no way to treat guests. Conclusion: Not recommended.

I had an amazing experience at Spindler celebrating my birthday with friends! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was excellent—attentive without being intrusive. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The combination of a beautiful setting, great company, and outstanding food made for a truly special evening. I couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate, and I’ll definitely be coming back! Highly recommended!

Food was great, service very good. A little slow, but maybe because it was very busy. Big con for some: no changing table for babies, nor place for a "makeshift" table. If you need one, you have to make it work on the stroller.

The Worst Cocktails in My Life Let me tell you about the most disappointing drinks I’ve ever had. It started with an Aperol Spritz—or should I say, a glass of sparkling water with just a single drop of Aperol? Half the glass was ice, and the rest tasted like sadness. But it didn’t end there. My friend decided to try their Bloody Mary, and honestly, it was beyond disgusting. It wasn’t just bad—it was unrecognizable. Somehow, this experience redefined low standards for cocktails.

An excellent restaurant for guests with a focus on quality and the best location. With a view of the Landwehr Canal you can dine and chill out here. An archaic building in the cult Kiez Kreuzberg on the Paul Linke Ufer offers the iconic background of well-being, which is perfectly reproduced by the equally cheerful staff. Everything is right here. Absolutely Berlin. From a culinary point of view, the focus of the trip is on France, but it is also open to vegan and cosmopolitan customers and does not push fusion elements off the edge. Young cuisine with obvious know-how and international service.

We come regularly for brunch and love it. Attentive and friendly service. A wide selection of breakfast and lunch dishes. The food is always of the same standard and very fine.

One of the best places I went eating in Berlin. They also have gluten free options for the bread. The service was by far the best, we couldn't find a place inside and it was raining outside but they wiped our tables and chairs, brought a few blankets and made sure our table is covered from the rain. People are those who make a place great. Definetely will come back.

One of my favourite brunch spots in BERLIN! The food is reasonably priced, especially regarding the view and the setting in spring and summer. The Eggs are to die for - especially the avocado toast and the eggs Benedict. The service always excellent it can be slow when it’s full but still great. The ambiance on the out- and inside is great.

We had reserved a spot outside at 8:00 PM. Upon arrival there was no room and everything was full. We had to wait 20 minutes for a table and we only got our food around 9:40 PM. The staff was very friendly and did their very best to please everyone. The food was delicious. Quite salty. Nice wines, but expensive. Overall a nice place with good food, but logistics didn't seem quite right!

Its a very Nice terrasse in Kreuzberg , the ambiance is good. Service is excellent but after reeding so many good advices i was very disapointed by the food! The gaspacho was warm ( although it was a very hot day ) mixed with a lot of tobasco and Pepper , way too spicy !! Then my salade niçoise came : Not bad but so poor for 19 euros . For dessert the strawberries with cream were also disapointing …

What a nice restaurant with a great outside seating area. We had a octopus carpaccio with good flavours and a great presentation. The msg. I send them about preparing the bottle of rosé champagne was humbled and they even informed me about the price Just to make sure it was oké. Me and my Lovely girlfriend even toon a dessert which we usually dont do and even that was as good as expected. But the biggest surprise was the Bill. It was cheaper then anticipatid even with the price of the bottle i ordered. All and all a very nice place to go and have dinner. I would deff. Go there again. Make sure u have a reservation and sit outside. Enjoy.

Party of 5, the service was quite trash compared to the fine quality of the food. The staff looked overwhelmed. Our meals took around 1 hour and 30 minutes to come out. Not exactly the best experience for the price you pay. This is my wife’s favorite restaurant, but this was my first time. We are willing to try again in the future.

We were amazed when we paid €23.60 for two 0.2l glasses of Savignon Blanc, which we had been waiting for for ages and which tasted like a €6 wine. Last week we were in Amalfi, Italy and got a bottle for this price

Leuke plek maar arrogant restaurant. Wij bestelden vooraf olijven en brood (omdat hoofdgerechten al zo prijzig zijn). Dat werd niet gebracht en uiteindelijk na herhaaldelijk vragen 1 minuut voor de hoofdgerechten. De goedkoopste fles wijn is 43 euro. Het eten is echt wel lekker maar kleine porties en echt erg hoog geprijsd.

In town for a work conference and I’ve been back here twice just for the Caesar Salad. The ability to take something simple and straightforward and make it absolutely perfect says a lot about their attention to detail. The perfect blend of umami, freshness, acid and crunch is pure magic. Wash it all down with a dry Riesling for the full experience. Special mention to the wonderful team. Warm and welcoming. It's very pretty but it's mostly expensive and not good quality for the value. Unfortunately disappointed. The Benedict eggs were overcooked, on a stingy piece of bread, too much sauce.

We were looking forward to a beautiful Sunday morning and a delicious breakfast. Unfortunately, despite having a reservation, we got a very small table in a cramped corner. Other guests were offered better seats, even though they arrived later. Overall, it's a shame because the location is very nice.

Only when these are repeated for the third time will they be complied with. Orders are ignored/ignored. Although the portions give the impression that the concept of Lokas would be to make a lot of money. The portions are very manageable, half a piece of toast on top of two eggs in an avocado with 4 halved mini potatoes covered in sauce. And the whole thing for €16. The coffee was super thin. It's actually a shame, if the service and the price-performance ratio were to change, then it would also have potential for Berliners! Beautiful front garden and chic restaurant.

I don't recommend this place. I went there with 2 friends for brunch (because this is one of the few places in Berlin that accepts reservations) and we all had problems with our food: one friend found a cooked bug in her food (which clearly was in the spinach that had not been washed), my bacon was raw and the other friend's eggs were overcooked. There was also big confusion around our order when we had to pay. Under the tent is extremely hot when the weather is good, a fan is needed.

I come from the catering industry myself and was visiting today with my wife. We were absolutely thrilled by the entire team and the boss's sympathy. The whole team is not only extremely professional, but also incredibly friendly. To eat: I can confidently say that we had some of the best prepared food we have ever tasted! About the ambience: Stylish, cozy and absolutely unique (including the building!!) Conclusion: Absolute recommendation / worth every cent. You are awesome!

The food was very good, but the service and comfort when sitting were quite unsatisfactory. Little things like a water bottle, a spoon or a plate were forgotten and you had to wait a long time for it.
