Overpriced!!! We have been there as a group of 6 persons - had brunch and ordered different drinks and foods. Unfortunately the portions were very small and even not the quality u expect they should be. For the price definitely a big flop! Service stuff very nice and friendly!

Ich habe über 1,5 Stunden auf die Gnocchi gewartet! Eine Erklärung dafür gab es nicht. Geschmacklich bewerte ich die Gnocchi mit 4/10 Punkten. Daheim kreiere ich in 10 Minuten definitiv Besseres! Schönes Ambiente aber mein Essen und der Service waren leider eine Enttäuschung. Da gibt es weitaus bessere Alternativen in Berlin, die Geschmackserlebnis und ein warmes Ambiente vereinen. KEINE Empfehlung.

Absolutely loved everything here! The food was amazing and the staff were genuinely sweet and welcoming. Every single dish we tried was delicious, but the real showstopper was their French toast – hands down the best we’ve ever had! Do yourself a favor and don’t leave without ordering it when you visit.

Wonderful ambiance on Paul-Linke Ufer. Very friendly and attentive service – in both English and German. Reservations are possible, and, above all, there's no time slot. All of this is a rare occurrence in Berlin these days. The food is also incredibly delicious. Perfect for a slow Sunday – we'd love to come back!

A Memorable Dining Experience at Spindler My hotel recommended Spindler as a top spot for steak in Berlin, and it didn’t disappoint. While the steak was cooked slightly beyond medium rare, it was still flavorful and well-prepared. The standout for me was the buttery mashed potatoes—easily one of the best things I’ve eaten on this trip. A delightful surprise was the pairing of olives with buttered bread, something I hadn’t tried before. It added a unique twist and complemented my side salad beautifully. Another highlight was the roasted garlic clove served alongside the steak—soft, aromatic, and a perfect flavor boost with every bite. I finished the meal with a glass of Zacapa 23, which rounded out the evening perfectly. And the crème brûlée? A touch better than the one I had at Royal Grills—smooth, rich, and beautifully caramelized. If I find myself in Berlin again, I’d definitely return to Spindler. If you do not like cigarette smoke with your meal ask to be seated inside away from the open patio windows.

I had a deeply unsettling experience at Spindler on Saturday. Food was OK, staff was friendly but while trying to find the restroom, I accidentally overheard a very aggressive confrontation between a chef and a woman seated at a table. He was speaking to her in an extremely threatening manner something no guest should ever witness, especially in a full, open restaurant. This was not just unprofessional, it was disturbing. Personal matters should never be handled like that by staff, and no one, especially a woman, should be spoken to in that way. I left immediately and I certainly wouldn’t feel comfortable returning.

Spindler is a lovely place. The seating inside and outside is very comfortable. There aren't many places in Kreuzberg that offer such a terrace atmosphere. The food isn't cheap, but ultimately, it's fair. Everything here is of high quality. Very good bread, excellent wines, and the starters and main courses combine classic flavors from German and French cultures. Always with a fancy twist, a small variation that makes the whole thing culinary interesting. The person responsible for this in the kitchen knows a thing or two. This is a place I really enjoy going to.

So, I went there based on the good reviews and was very disappointed. 19 euros for a mini sourdough loaf with avocado is a lot. I expected top-notch flavor, but that wasn't the case. We also had to wait 10 minutes before we even got a menu. 30 minutes before a drink even arrived. The food didn't arrive until about 50 minutes later, after a bitter complaint. As compensation, we were promised a coffee and an orange juice. The orange juice ran out by 12:30, and the coffee never arrived. Never again. There are much better breakfast restaurants at a better price.

I had the Avocado & Poached Egg Sandwich for €18. It was delicious, but the portion was WAY too small. For €18, I expect to be full. I could eat the same amount again. 5 stars for taste, 2 stars for value, and 3/5 stars overall.

Unique! A French brasserie of the highest caliber. From the tender lamb accompanied by a magnificent, highly aromatic jus to the perfectly prepared asparagus with homemade hollandaise sauce – a pure delight! A huge thank you to Chef Dave and his crew. The ambiance also deserves 5 stars, designed and thoughtfully prepared with a lot of heart. Bojan's service is caring and unobtrusive. Thank you! It looks good from the outside, but unfortunately, it looks cheap on the inside. The eggs Benedict are very greasy, and the hollandaise sauce is definitely a cheap store-bought version. We were unfortunately very disappointed with the food. Friendly service, but also expensive prices.

SPINDLER on Paul-Lincke-Ufer combines historic Kreuzberg charm and a stylish ambiance in a beautiful Wilhelminian-era building right on the canal. It's been my absolute favorite for weekend breakfast for years: Eggs Benedict, French toast, or pancakes are always excellent, and the service is friendly and professional—a perfect, relaxed start to the weekend.

Service was so slow We waited, not kidding, 90 minutes for the main course to come out & they forgot some of the appetizers. They got us some free bread tho Thanks for nothing

This was a firm favourite for us. We've been several times for dinner and had some of our best meals in Berlin. However, we went last week and the experience was... chaotic. Food was just okay and looked like it had been lying around awhile before making its way to us. The presentation of the entrecôte was very underwhelming and the meat was very fatty (but the tender parts were delicious). Although wait staff were lovely the service was very hit and miss. Things didn't come, we reordered, they still didn't come. We had to get things taken off the bill because of this (items we were charged for but never had). It seemed like no one had ownership over a table (like in most restaurants servers have their sections to look after). We're huge dessert fans but again it was very average, chocolate mouse was gritty and inconsistent, creme brulé was nice, crumble was a bit miserable looking (and tasting). We've since heard there's a new owner... maybe this explains the issues or maybe it was just a bad night? However, we spent over 400 euro so expect a level of quality. To end on a positive note: the cocktails were absolutely amazing.

We only had something to drink. The service and location were nice. The hand soap smelled very good. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the tea, as it was very simply made. All in all, though, we had a lovely time together.

For me, the Spindler is one of the most beautiful breakfast spots in Berlin – stylish, relaxed, and located directly on the picturesque Paul-Lincke-Ufer. I was already impressed by the evening meal, but the breakfast was also impressive across the board. I chose the "Something English" – a creative, high-quality take on the English classic: homemade white pudding, a homemade jalapeño cheddar sausage with visible jalapeño pieces, grilled portobello cheese, beans, two perfectly cooked eggs, a flavorful green oil emulsion, and three thick, crispy slices of bacon. Everything was well thought out, expertly prepared, and exceptionally tasty. The croissant deserves special praise: crispy, buttery, crumbling into wonderful sheets – served with homemade jam and cinnamon butter. Tip: If you're a couple, order one croissant with side dishes and one plain – then it's perfectly sufficient. The cappuccino and cortado are also great – strong, round, and at just the right temperature. My companion had a sandwich that was just as fresh and lovingly prepared. In conclusion: A place to linger, enjoy, and return – breakfast at Spindler isn't just a meal, it's an experience. Highly recommended!

Incredibly sweet waitstaff, but they didn’t seem to have control over the guests and their orders. Some in our party had to wait more than 30 minutes longer for their dishes than those who were served first. Additionally, they forgot several of the dishes and sides we had ordered. The food tasted fine.

The portion was really a joke. 16 euros for half a toast (really half a toast) with two eggs and some hollandise sauce. Plus 3 potatoes that come from the Shire. Never again!

Nos sentamos durante 40 minutos esperando 5 platos. Después de preguntar qué estaba pasando, llegaron los filetes que estaban fríos, así como los espárragos que se sirven completamente no calientes. La camarera no puso la mesa. cuando nos quejamos de que habíamos estado esperando y la comida estaba fría, discutió y dijo que pediría a la cocina que lo calentara pero el plato ya no sería como pedimos y llevaría tiempo. Ella no se disculpó por un momento. Pagamos por las bebidas y nos fuimos.

We sat in the restaurant for nearly an hour. The food, including the starter and the main course (steaks), arrived after an hour and was cold. The waitress didn’t apologize and even tried to argue Definitely we don’t recommend. .

The restaurant has a great ambience. We were there for Easter brunch and sat outside. With the building's warm weather, lilac bushes and Mediterranean architecture, it felt like you were on vacation in France. The staff was very nice, although some only spoke English. The taste of the food was also very good. However, I unfortunately have to say that I find 16 euros for two pancakes a bit overpriced. I ordered the savory version with fried egg and bacon. The two slices of bacon were simply slapped onto the pancake - unfortunately, lovingly prepared looks different.

Nuestro último almuerzo en Berlín antes de ir al aeropuerto. Absolutamente gran ambiente, lleno de lugareños todos pasándolo muy bien. Nuestro almuerzo era delicioso y el patrón Frank nos dio excelentes recomendaciones y nos trasladó al sol cuando hacía calor fuera. Sin duda visitaría Spindler en nuestro próximo viaje - maravilloso ambiente y hospitalidad.

One of the best places in Berlin to have a delicious breakfast. Great food, great interior design. Everything would be even better if you could There would be 1-2 more service staff here on weekends. There are simply not enough staff for the number of guests.

We've had better days in Spindler. Food hop and top. Steak great, beef bourguignon dry and disappointing. Staff between studious and cool/impersonal. The big thing: from 9.30 p.m. all the tables and chairs around you on the terrace are cleared away and folded up, even though they are open until 11.30 p.m. No motivation to repeat any time soon. Too bad...

if you’re looking for an amazing brunch spot, Spindler is the place to be. The service is kind and attentive, food is delicious, cocktails are amazing and the location is perfect. “Something English” had one of the best sausages i’ve had in a long time and the cocktail was definitely something to write home about 🤍

Were there for brunch on the weekend. Unfortunately it took 1 hour until we had the Eggs Florentine. Why does it take 1 hour for an egg on toast? This is unacceptable as you come for brunch/breakfast without eating anything first. My companion had circulatory problems because it took so long. It wasn't full either, the service was just too slow. The service then also forgot to bring extra plates and behaved as if it wasn't a problem. No apology, just casually noticed that the plates hadn't been brought. It's a shame, otherwise it could be a top store if it were managed more professionally. Price performance ratio not good.

The atmosphere is wonderful, its clean and stylish. But I agree that prices are way too high for the taste. Maybe we were not lucky, but cesar salad was too salty, I ordered extra chicken for 9 eur and got a tiny (around 100 grams) piece of chicken including 2 bones. Not to mention it was a bit dry and salty…

The cheese plate isn’t exactly a feast for the eyes but they offer a good selection, each one delicious. One of best spots around to enjoy the sun

The food was served almost cold. Definitively overpriced for the quality they offered.

We were the first guests for breakfast in the morning. Everything was absolutely delicious and the service was really friendly. The busier the store became, the more service deteriorated. We didn't get several drinks because they were simply forgotten. The store is very attractively decorated with beautiful pictures that can be purchased using a QR code. Despite the increasing stress level, the service always remains friendly, so that minor mistakes are readily forgiven.

A nice end to our Berlin trip. Beautiful restaurant on the historic Paul-Linke-Ufer. We were very nicely guided through the evening. The starters (scallop, octopus carpaccio) were really strong, but unfortunately the meat didn't score well in the grill menu with three side dishes and the creme brulee had a super subtle vanilla note, but the caramelization wasn't quite successful. The evening was still very nice and enjoyable, hence the five stars.

Our two meat courses where way over salted, the vegetarian courses where so unbalanced that it was nauseating and we had to get fries to even it out. The waiter forgot us twice, first with the wine and then with our food so we sat there a solid hour before getting served and with this price level you would expect much more. Also tried for over two weeks to get a copy of our receipt but impossible to get a reply. Nice place and location but this ruined our evening so can’t recommend at all.

When it's sunny outside - a Sunday dream.

Food is tasty, but unfortunately not a taste explosion. We had the Roseline and Avocado & Egg Tartine with an extra egg. The portions are very small for the high price. We also paid €5.80 for an egg - that's really incredibly expensive. Unfortunately one dish was forgotten and we had to eat separately. +/- Service was ok + Location is cool + good to sit outside in summer too -small portions (price-performance ratio doesn't fit) -expensive add-ons

The rating for food and ambience speaks for itself - average, nothing more, and actually too expensive for that. About the service: The staff was friendly, but one employee spoke almost no German, and another employee was lost when we wanted to know more about the wine. The time since the restaurant opened could have been used for a language course. I feel like I'm being treated badly as a guest when no effort is made to communicate. The moules frites were only served with a bowl of lemon slices and water upon request, which was actually a given. The water was also scalding hot. Furthermore, our table was not cleared for fifteen minutes after the meal was finished. This is no way to treat guests. Conclusion: Not recommended.

I had an amazing experience at Spindler celebrating my birthday with friends! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was excellent—attentive without being intrusive. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The combination of a beautiful setting, great company, and outstanding food made for a truly special evening. I couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate, and I’ll definitely be coming back! Highly recommended!

Food was great, service very good. A little slow, but maybe because it was very busy. Big con for some: no changing table for babies, nor place for a "makeshift" table. If you need one, you have to make it work on the stroller.

The Worst Cocktails in My Life Let me tell you about the most disappointing drinks I’ve ever had. It started with an Aperol Spritz—or should I say, a glass of sparkling water with just a single drop of Aperol? Half the glass was ice, and the rest tasted like sadness. But it didn’t end there. My friend decided to try their Bloody Mary, and honestly, it was beyond disgusting. It wasn’t just bad—it was unrecognizable. Somehow, this experience redefined low standards for cocktails.

An excellent restaurant for guests with a focus on quality and the best location. With a view of the Landwehr Canal you can dine and chill out here. An archaic building in the cult Kiez Kreuzberg on the Paul Linke Ufer offers the iconic background of well-being, which is perfectly reproduced by the equally cheerful staff. Everything is right here. Absolutely Berlin. From a culinary point of view, the focus of the trip is on France, but it is also open to vegan and cosmopolitan customers and does not push fusion elements off the edge. Young cuisine with obvious know-how and international service.

We come regularly for brunch and love it. Attentive and friendly service. A wide selection of breakfast and lunch dishes. The food is always of the same standard and very fine.

One of the best places I went eating in Berlin. They also have gluten free options for the bread. The service was by far the best, we couldn't find a place inside and it was raining outside but they wiped our tables and chairs, brought a few blankets and made sure our table is covered from the rain. People are those who make a place great. Definetely will come back.

One of my favourite brunch spots in BERLIN! The food is reasonably priced, especially regarding the view and the setting in spring and summer. The Eggs are to die for - especially the avocado toast and the eggs Benedict. The service always excellent it can be slow when it’s full but still great. The ambiance on the out- and inside is great.

Very nice place, we also liked the food, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. The service is not friendly (and not just once so far) and they try to squeeze every last cent out of the customer with overpriced additional services. The price-performance ratio suffers.

Really nice place but the service was bad. It took 1.5 hours before we got food and they didn't have a table for us even though we had booked 14 days in advance. Not good enough! The food was really good though.

We had reserved a spot outside at 8:00 PM. Upon arrival there was no room and everything was full. We had to wait 20 minutes for a table and we only got our food around 9:40 PM. The staff was very friendly and did their very best to please everyone. The food was delicious. Quite salty. Nice wines, but expensive. Overall a nice place with good food, but logistics didn't seem quite right!

Yes, the food is still good, but the prices suggest a higher quality… >absolutely PROVINCIAL is the fact that on Sunday afternoon there is only a significantly reduced menu, i.e. no normal food offer. Incredible. And: The service used to be clearly more attentive. SHAME.
