The usual German food in a quaint and cool cafe style restaurant. Food was good quality and tasty and the service was great. Definitely a good spot to hang out before a concert at the longhorn nearby.

From the outside, it looks like a dive bar, just as you'd imagine. But that's deceptive; the menu is pleasantly small and filled with fresh, delicious dishes. Even as we sat in the narrow outdoor area, a delicious aroma wafted from the kitchen. I had creamed polenta with garden vegetables and goat cheese. It was incredibly delicious. The service was also very attentive. A truly memorable experience. We'll definitely be going back. My companions all raved about their sauces, which must have been unique as well. Someone loves their job—it couldn't get any better.

The Spelunkerei impresses with an ambiance that seems as if time has stood still. The decor has an authentic character and conveys a feeling of authenticity without being artificially dated. What makes the Spelunkerei particularly special is the rustic atmosphere that prevails in the pub. Furthermore, the restaurant impresses with excellent food and impeccable service. A must-see!

A very good experience when I stumbled upon their stand at the Weindorf. Excellent wine, delicious spätzle. The staff was very friendly and regularly checked on me if everything was okay. I recommend it, and if I'm ever in Stuttgart again, I think I'll try their restaurant.

A small, quaint restaurant in the heart of Stuttgart-Wangen. Very cozy and lovingly decorated. We sat outside in an alley between the restaurant and the neighboring building. Here, too, we never felt like we were sitting on the street. The service was unexpectedly young, friendly, and accommodating. The menu is classic Swabian and not overly overstuffed. We enjoyed the food. 👌 I think this won't be the last time we're there.

A true insider tip with soul My sister recommended it, and she definitely didn't overdo it. The Spelunkerei is a true insider tip! Truly rustic German cuisine, authentic Swabian, with a cozy outdoor and indoor area that's almost nostalgic. Here, you can simply soak in the moment with homemade specialties and a swirling beer. A place with character! Down-to-earth, warm, honest. We'll definitely be back!

Left: Filetgeschnetzeltes (pork fillet | pepper | cream | spaetzle), Right: Swabian Zwiebelrostbraten (German beef | onion | spaetzle | Lemberger sauce | salad) Addition: We stopped by again on May 11, 2025, and ordered (again 😁) Swabian Zwiebelrostbraten. Again, very tasty. 👍🏻😋

A nice place tacked in a quiet area. This is a 150 year old house that was recently (4years ago) turned into a restaurant. They left most of the pictures, books etc in the house so you can imagine how unique it looks. The food was very good with some very nice local cuisine …. The waiter was very friendly and helpful.

Very cozy Swabian restaurant with an authentic atmosphere and friendly service. The Maultaschen were excellent - homemade, seasoned just right, and served with fresh potato salad, as it should be. The onion roast was also perfectly fried and wonderfully tender. We'll definitely be back!

Unfortunately, our visit to the dive bar was a complete disappointment. The lamb's lettuce was dressed with a run-of-the-mill potato dressing. Mushrooms from a jar were served on top. The onion roast was tough and the cook didn't get it done enough for any of us. A very small portion of spaetzle was served with it. When we asked for extra sauce for 4 people, a very small carafe was brought to the table and we were even charged for it. Unfortunately, the incredibly cozy atmosphere and the excellent service cannot make up for the really bad food. We were so disappointed that none of us wanted to try dessert. The portions were so small that we went to Burger King afterwards. Not justified at all for the prices of the dishes. The question really arises as to whether the extremely good reviews are not bought. Very disappointing, we will never come back and really can't recommend a visit to anyone.

Quaint location with a small flaw. There were four of us at this great spot. The menu and daily specials offered enough choice so that everyone could find something to their liking. The food was simply very good and very professionally prepared. Fantastic desserts. The staff is extremely friendly, competent, and was able to answer our questions about the background of this wonderful location. Every corner of the restaurant has its own charm and is unique. Only the restrooms (men and women) need attention. Unfortunately, there was a lack of cleanliness and technical maintenance (lighting, loose toilet seats), and the soap dispensers were empty. (We were there quite early in the evening.) Conclusion: Highly recommended due to the excellent cuisine and unique ambiance. One star deducted due to the situation in the restrooms.

Von aussen ganz nett und urig gestaltets Häuschen aber. Wir hatten extra einen 2-er Tisch, zu unserem Geburtstagsessen reserviert. Leider mussten wir trotzdem ca. 20 Minuten warten, biss der Tisch dann frei war. Wir haben auf einem Barhocker an einer Wand gewartet und der versprochene Aperitiv, der aufs Haus gehen sollte, kam nicht. Der bestellte Rostbranten war leider ausgesprochen zäh, die Röstzwiebeln waren geteilt auf dem Stück Fleisch. Die eine Hälfte war matschig die Andere, aus einer Dose, trocken und hart. Die Schmor-Rindersoße war ebenso aus einem Fertigmix, einer Tüte oder Glas entsprungen. Spätzle aus der Tüte (geschmacksneutral) und eine einzige Sorte von Grünem Salat mit Dressing, das ganz süß schmeckte, auch aus irgend einem Fertigmix, übergossen. Alles sehr lieblos. Da helfen auch keine grüne Stoffservietten. Die Wände und Decken sind auch nicht gerade apetitlich, mit Spinnweben und staub übersäht. Nie wieder

Had a 4-course New Year's Eve menu. Super tasty. With greetings from the kitchen, 2 types of homemade butter with bread. The waiter brought and ordered the wine list, sparkling wine, white wine, red wine, water, beer, whatever we wanted to drink. Will definitely visit again. Since it's quite small, reservation makes sense

The Spelunkerei is a fantastic restaurant with wonderful hosts and a brilliant chef! We were there for the first time for the four-course New Year's Eve menu - further visits will definitely follow. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy and nostalgic, with wallpaper, paintings and photos as well as old books, lamps, typewriters, etc. - lovers of individually designed restaurants will get their money's worth here. Of course we weren't there for the ambience, but for the food and drink. The two warm hosts have put in a lot of effort and really live their hospitality. Requests were addressed very attentively, the wine list was top and refills were always made in a timely manner. The courses were well spaced and beautifully presented; The feast for the eyes was followed by a taste explosion. We thought it was great to get to know the super friendly chef, who asked after each course how we liked it and shared his thoughts on the creations he had conjured up for us. Thank you for the absolutely great experience with you and for how much effort you put into your guests.

Great nostalgic location! You wouldn't believe what's hidden behind these walls - great regional cuisine - discreet yet present service - always an open eye and ear - a gigantic wine list and it was delicious across all courses! Keep it up - GREAT!

We definitely give it 5 stars! We reserved a table for my husband's birthday after we were impressed by the arbor in the wine village. The food was absolutely delicious (venison goulash, schnitzel, spaetzle) and the prices were also reasonable and the portions were decent. Even our 10 year old, always hungry sons found what they were looking for and were fed up! We didn't have to wait long at all and felt well looked after the whole time. The atmosphere of the dive bar is really special. We'll definitely be back. Thank you very much ❤️

Wow, this was gorgeous. Popping here for lunch before hopping on a tram to the zoo we loved the quaint rustic feel about the place. It felt like an old traditional home. We were the only ones here and so were greeted warmly and provided a German menu. Google Lens to the rescue. My partner had consumed a wholesome breakfast beforehand so opted for just a dessert which was a pudding of sorts with cherries and homemade vanilla custard. Delicious. I needed a break from meat so opted for seasonal salad with goat cheese. It was so compacted with various leaves and the two portions of goat's cheese were some of the best I've eaten. I have never been full of just eating leaves but this was filling. Which was a shame as I wanted to eat more of the delicious bread that i saw being carved up at the back. To drink I tried the homemade lemonade which fresh ginger was the prominent flavour. Overall a great place to eat.
