Spaghetti Oper in Mannheim

We were in Mannheim for a concert and left early because of Pentecost. When we were wandering aimlessly through the city center and found the shop on Google, we just popped in. It was super delicious, and the owner and staff were incredibly friendly! If we're ever in Mannheim again, we'll definitely come back! Large portions at a really fair price.

Absolutely disgusting!!!!! On my trial day, I was sexually harassed, touched, and humiliated with disgusting comments about my figure. "Bend over and I'll have a good view." The boss wanted to kiss my neck and grab my ass. As if that wasn't enough, I was also racially abused. He said he had bought me cheap from the slave owner. I started crying in front of him and fled to the bathroom, completely distraught. When I returned, I was coldly asked if I was done with the "whining." I was devastated, and to this day, this experience still haunts me. This is not a restaurant. This is a place for abuse of power, racism, and disgusting behavior. Stay away!!!!

Despite the change of ownership, we really enjoy eating here. The dishes are still delicious. The menu has been expanded, and you can now pay by credit card. All the staff are friendly, attentive, and courteous. Highly recommended!

Tolles Restaurant mit ausgezeichneten Speisen und sehr freundlichem Service; beim Hereinkommen wird man sogar vom Chef begrüßt. Es werden außergewöhnliche Gerichte angeboten. Wir hatten als Vorspeise ein Gelbflossen-Thunfisch-Carpaccio, was sehr frisch und hervorragend war. Als Hauptgang gab es zwei sehr feine saisonal-regionale Spargel-Spaghetti-Menüs (Spaghetti sind Hausgemacht) und zum krönenden Abschluss haben wir einen hausgemachten Kaiserschmarrn mit selbstgemachtem Eis bekommen, der besser war als den, den wir in Wien gegessen haben. Familien freundlich ist der Laden auch. Die nette Bedienung hat sich sogar zwischendurch um unseren Kleinen gekümmert, sodass wir in Ruhe essen konnten. Alles in allem ein super Abend! Wir empfehlen die Spaghetti-Oper in Mannheim auf jeden Fall weiter.

Great restaurant with excellent food and very friendly service; When you come in you are even greeted by the boss. Exceptional dishes are offered. We had a yellowfin tuna carpaccio as a starter, which was very fresh and excellent. As a main course there were two very fine seasonal regional asparagus spaghetti menus (spaghetti are homemade) and to top it off we had a homemade Kaiserschmarrn with homemade ice cream, which was better than the one we ate in Vienna. The store is also family friendly. The friendly waitress even looked after our little one from time to time so that we could eat in peace. All in all a great evening! We definitely recommend the Spaghetti Opera in Mannheim.

The Spaghetti Opera is an absolute insider tip if you fancy good, homemade pasta. The ambience may seem a bit old to some people, but I think that's exactly where the charm lies. The food is always freshly prepared, portions are first class and super tasty. Within just a few visits, the Spaghetti Opera has become my absolute favorite restaurant. Wir kommen als Familie immer wieder gerne hierher. Seit über 30 Jahren! Die Gerichte und die selbstgemachte Pasta sind mega. Durchweg. Vorspeisen und Muscheln superlecker und man hat eine große Auswahl! Die Besitzer sind immer superfreundlich und jederzeit zu einem Smalltalk bereit. Wir bedauern es sehr, dass die Besitzer (ein älteres Ehepaar) nun aufhören, aber wir wussten bereits, dass sie bald in Rente gehen. Wir hoffen, dass die neuen Eigentümer genauso freundlich sind.

Ich könnte jetzt hier einen Roman schreiben, aber das ist die Sache nun nicht mehr wert oder viel mehr gesagt, das sind die Besitzer nicht mehr wert. Wer so abwertend und lautstark mit seinen Gästen umgeht, tut gut daran, das Restaurant in hoffentlich bessere Hände zu übergeben.

Grauenhaft! Wollten nach einem Kinobesuch nebenan im Atlantis noch eine Kleinigkeit essen. Da wir es wagten, uns (in einem fast leeren) Restaurant einfach an einen Tisch zu setzen, wurden wir auf äußerst unfreundliche und oberlehrerhafte Art zurechtgewiesen und darüber „belehrt“, wie man sich in einem Speiselokal verhalten solle… Wir haben uns nicht sonderlich willkommen gefühlt. Sorry, so geht man nicht mit potentiellen Gästen um. Nie wieder!!!

I've been wanting to go to the Spaghetti Opera for years, but never made it. But when I heard about the impending change of ownership, I finally went within a few days. It was definitely worth it! Absolutely fantastic service! Such warmth is rare these days. The food was very good, especially the lamb's lettuce with homemade potato dressing! A poem! The value for money is more than justified. Fair prices for the high quality. I'm really glad I made it in time!

The Spaghetti Opera is simply legendary... Unfortunately the best times are over, but still very tasty food and Moni & Rainer in a class of their own!!! It's really a shame that an era is coming to an end here at the end of the year.

We had dinner there with 9 people on Tuesday. We were warmly welcomed as soon as we entered. The lovely service is complemented by the super delicious noodles. It's been a long time since we met such warm and attentive people. We would all like to thank you and come back!

The Spaghetti Opera lives up to its name! The owners do the reception, taking the order and bringing the food to the table with dedication and love. The dishes are extensive, all fresh and homemade and there is something for every taste. Above all, the lamb's lettuce with croutons, bacon and potato dressing was a highlight for me, very tasty and, like everything else, perfectly seasoned and a good portion. If you can't manage your portion, you can also take it with you! The tiramisu is also really a crowning conclusion to every beautiful evening. As soon as we entered we were met with the smell of cold smoke. Unfortunately, it didn't get any less during the meal. The ambience is generally very old. From the outdated and kitschy decoration to the burn marks on the menus. Unfortunately the quality and good taste of the food was overshadowed by the mood (triggered by the owner). The owner was mostly very friendly and accommodating at the table, but there were already comments about our order because we had “only” ordered one main course and one drink per person. The owner repeated this in a loud voice in the kitchen - just for your information, the two gentlemen only have one main course - During the meal we were the only guests who heard an argument between him and his wife. All in all - no thanks!

All the magic from 20 years ago has faded, the waitresses are quite rude (both) and the food is mediocre... "everything used to be better"

little place in Mannheim, Germany. the name recalls Italian cuisine, but very tamed with Teutonic taste... and it's not that I expected more. Still edible. What I didn't like was the bill... not so much the amount itself. So we went in and the waiter, an elderly man... probably also the owner, immediately informed us that we could only pay in cash... well... what does he do? We're here now... okay, come on. ok we have dinner then while we were there we see the other people paying by credit card. not wanting to make a mess we sketched and paid... but in short the moral is that the little man got paid in ⚫️..... then they complain when they come to Italy eh....

Super freundlicher, aufmerksamer Service, richtig angenehme Atmosphäre, sehr gutes, leckeres Essen. Kompliment an Küche und Servicepersonal, hab ich selten so gut erlebt. Das Preisleistungsverhältnis ist übrigens auch angemessen. Sieht erstmal leicht teuer aus, aber die Qualität ist auch sehr gut und damit passts dann auch wieder. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Wir sind Stammgäste und so hab ich gestern Abend (18.10.) dort meinen Geburtstag mit 10 weiteren Gästen gefeiert. Der Tisch war schön dekoriert und wir wurden wie immer freundlich empfangen und bedient. Das Essen hat allen geschmeckt und alle waren sehr zufrieden. Ich kann die Spaghettioper wärmstens empfehlen, oftmals ist es schwierig spontan einen freien Tisch zu ergattern, deswegen empfiehlt sich eine Reservierung. Die beiden Besitzer sind stets freundlich, zuvorkommend und aufmerksam. Gibt nichts zu bemängeln. Danke für die schöne Geburtstagsfeier.

Beide Servicekräfte sind super freundlich, versuchen alles Recht zu machen. Bitte fragt sollte etwas fehlen oder nicht zu eueren wünschen sein, der Chef kümmert sich persönlich darum, dass es auch an nichts fehlt.

Man fühlt sich sofort willkommen und das schon IMMER! Eins der Besten, wenn nicht sogar die beste Pasta in der Stadt. Ich bin so glücklich, daß sie Corona überstanden haben und wir dieses Restaurant in Mannheim weiter wertschätzen können. Ihr seid einfach klasse - bitte bleibt weiterhin so süß und bezaubernd ♥️

Schon beim freundlichen Empfang fühlt sich der Gast wie nach Hause gekommen. Die Speisekarte ist abwechslungsreich und nicht nur mit den verschiedensten Pastagerichten bestückt, die sehr schmackhaft sind. Auch saisonale Gerichte wie Muscheln fehlen nicht. Die Pasta ist stets hausgemacht und schmeckt entsprechend lecker. Eine Reservierung ist empfehlenswert, wenn das Restaurant auch bis spät am Abend geoffnet ist.

Das beste was man haben kann. Hier stimmt einfach alles. Die Spaghetti sind ein Traum. Die Kombination mit Lachs und Ananas in Curry Sauce ist genial. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Wir sind Stammgäste in der Spaghettioper. Hier ist jeder willkommen, ob alleine oder mit der Familie. Wer Nudeln liebt wird hier fündig. Besonders empfehlenswert sind die grünen Nudeln; Soßen in Hülle und Fülle. Als Vorspeise - nehmt unbedingt den Feldsalat mit Kartoffeldressing!

Leider haben wir in diesem Restaurant nicht essen können. Die „Gastgeber“ waren beide sehr forsch und unhöflich. Man hat sich als Gast nicht willkommen gefühlt. Meiner Meinung nach, haben sie ihren Beruf als Gastronom verfehlt. Wir wurden schon am Eingang in einem rauen Ton vor die Tür verwiesen, weil man uns erst kontrollieren müsse. Ich habe für alle Gastronomen vollstes Verständnis. Sie müssen die Regelungen umsetzen und stehen deswegen unter Druck. Aber so darf man nicht mit seinen Kunden sprechen. Wir warteten draußen ( Minuten und wurden dann aufgefordert einzutreten. Auch dies in einem unangemessenen Ton. Da wir nicht reserviert hatten, sollten wir nun an der Theke warten, bis wir kontrolliert werden und uns setzen können. Alles ok, auch wenn wieder der Ton die Musik macht. Während des Wartens wollte ich schon einmal eine Karte lesen. Dies wurde mir wieder in einem harschen Ton untersagt. Da wir einen Termin hatten und nicht so viel Zeit, mussten wir das Restaurant verlassen. Ohne Groll wollten wir gehen und nach dem Termin wiederkommen. Ein Herr lief uns zum Ausgang nach und beschimpfte und beleidigte uns. Sehr schade, dass man so mit seinen (potentiellen) Gästen umgeht … gute Besserung!

This is a really fun pasta restaurant located in the funky north west quadrant of Mannheim. Although apparently refurbished the décor is 1970”s retro style. Its not that big inside and on a Wednesday it was busy so reservations are advised. We shared a bruschetta, which was OK, tasty but small covered in a tomato type paste. There is a terrific selection of different spaghetti dishes with many intriguing ingredients. We had the green noodles with chicken strips spinach and Gorgonzola sauce, which was rich and creamy with plenty of chicken. My wife had green spaghetti with prawns and vegetables. Both were great and the service friendly all washed down with a nice bottle of wine. If you want no nonsense pasta for dinner then this is a place to head for. Interestingly they stay open until 5 am at weekends!

Nice service is the only positive thing I can say about Spaghetti Oper. At a place that specializes on pasta, it was a shame to have overcooked spaghetti. But worst thing – they used dried(!) herbs to season! I had a dish with mussels, and about 40% of mussels on my plate were either cracked or closed (one should throw away unopened mussels after cooking – they can cause poisoning). My date had crayfish pasta: they used marinated (canned?) crayfish, which tasted like a resin and marinade taste remained so strong that it was unspoiled even by excessively heavy cream sauce. Cannot recommend.

Located at the outskirts of the Quadrat in Mannheim, which is really a hassle to find a parking area and to have a patience for the traffic. The 2 ladies who served us were just a delight. Excellent Service and very courteous. The serving is quite big and the green spaghetti was lovely. The creme is just heavy that makes you full immediately (or it is just me). But the ambiance is quite romantic.

The Spaghetti Oper is one of my favorite places to go. The waitress has been there for ever and is such a sweet heart. Me and my oldest friend we have been coming here for roughly ten years now and we still love it! The food is just amazing and you will find that the dishes actually are named after protagonists of all kind of operas and musicals. Really fun! And take this: The dish with mussels is called Starlight Express!!! My favorite dish is the pasta with dug, almonds and honey sauce. It's got an extraordinary sweet and salty taste to it. Just wonderful! If you visit Mannheim, I would recommend eating out here!
