Beautiful typical German restaurant. We ate very well. €30-40/person. We loved it. Nothing touristy. Highly recommended.

Los platos son muy sabrosos, ya que hacía mucho frío el día que visitamos allí, pedí sopa Soleynka para empezar, se sirvió a la temperatura adecuada, en una cantidad razonable y con un excelente sabor. El schnitzel también se hizo correctamente y sabroso. Lugar recomendado, pago solo en efectivo.

Small, fine pub with seating and delicious food. We were very positively surprised because at first glance you don't necessarily expect a restaurant. There are minus points for the incredibly unfriendly and annoyed waiter.

I stopped here for dinner and had the Beef Romulade. It was very good. The meat was very tender though slightly under seasoned. Very Large portions so you will not leave hungry! Service was pleasant. They automatically charge a small gratuity for the table service (~5%). Atmosphere was warm and cozy. Felt very local and nice especially with the age of the building! It is CASH ONLY. So be prepared. Overall good restaurant with traditional German cuisine!

We searched for an authentic German restaurant and found Sophien 11. Everything was so good. Food, service and value.We had the Snitzel with ragu and cheese. One of the best meals I have ever had in Germany

En cuanto entramos la encargada nos saluda en alemán con cara encantadora..cuando se dio cuenta que éramos españoles le cambia la cara y nos pregunta si tenemos reserva...le decimos que no y nos dice que no podemos cenar...tenían la barra vacía y le pregunto aquí tampoco?? Y me contesta que solo puedo estar una hora en la barra...en resumen no quería que estuviéramos allí y me enfadé bastante y la chica que la ayudaba riéndose ante mi enfado..muy muy mal educados y trato fatal al turista...muy orgullosos estos alemanes...trabajo en turismo y yo siempre les he tratado de 10...vaya decepción!

Quaint restaurant with delicious home cooking. Grandma doesn't cook it any better! The prices are absolutely reasonable for the amount of handwork in the kitchen. I can't understand the criticism of the service, after all I'm not the only guest who wants to be served. And that you have to sit at a table with strangers, yes? This can happen in such a small restaurant. Of course, most people lack understanding because you are the most important thing to yourself. Reservations should be made if you don't want to be turned away at the door.

Great backyard! Our food was simple but good

My wife and I wanted to drink wine and a beer in the evening. We have been visiting this restaurant for 30 years, we live here. It was full, but there were still three seats available at the counter. But we were told because we didn't want to eat. This is a disgrace for Berlin restaurants, a disgrace for Berlin and an impudence on top of that. Please avoid. Because if this sets a precedent, Berlin will have lost a tradition. There are enough tourists coming too.

They charged service charge on their own and never said anything about this beforehand. Also I asked for a napkin and they said “for what?”…. Also I asked for water and they asked me “still or sparkling” trying to sell water naturally so I asked for tap water and they said they don’t give tap water…. Horrible service….

A decent, quiet and serene restaurant, generally preferred by middle-aged and older Germans. The staff was warm and the food was delicious. However, only cash payment can be made.

The cuisine is very correct, however be careful with your extra consumption, €3.50 for a glass of water, €3.90 for a glass of sparkling water and you are charged an extra cutlery per person

No friendliness from the staff... My husband, who doesn't eat pork, chooses a beef dish with mashed potatoes, and discovers that his dish is garnished with bacon. Nothing was specified in the menu. No commercial gesture from the waitress; he had to pay for his plate without having consumed it.

My partner and I went to eat, since we wanted to go to a typical German restaurant. They attended to us super quickly and kindly. They gave us the menu and told us that they had some dishes of the day, which were each for €9.50. We ordered two of these dishes, they were very delicious and of good quantity. We also ordered two beers. We got the bill for €28, a very good price. Without a doubt a place to go.

A cute old Berlin restaurant with lots of charm and German cuisine. In summer you can dine in the courtyard, which is comfortably laid out. The food is super tasty and rich. You will be warmly welcomed. Highly recommended. A reservation should be made.

Only on a city trip in Berlin I actually planned to go to another restaurant on the other corner of the street. It turned out to be closed and so I had to look for something else. I came across Sophien 11. Cozy traditional German restaurant with friendly service. Please note: payment can only be made in cash, but there is an ATM about 400 meters away.

Good typical German restaurant.

Not recommendable. The guest garden looks nice in the back yard, but the service staff is unfriendly and incompetent. You are seated - at a table with strangers - even though there are still other tables available. But then you are completely overlooked and ignored, while other guests who arrived later have already drunk their first beer. Meanwhile, the two older women who serve there are standing around, chatting and smoking. Things didn't seem any better at the other tables; people waited forever to pay or for the tables to be cleared. I can't judge how the food tastes because I didn't order any - then left without comment. The prices are average for mid-range, the portions don't look particularly large. Hopefully no tourists get lost in this juice shop and get a completely wrong impression of our city. The fact that you can't pay by card here says it all. There are dozens of better alternatives 100 meters away at Hackescher Markt.

Chic restaurant with a small romantic beer garden in the back yard, friendly and direct Berlin service. Food and drinks came to the table very quickly, as did the bill. Today, you rarely get a choice from, for example, cabbage rolls and so on. Gladly again.

Eine Perle in Berlin. Hier gibt es super feine Berliner Küche zu absolut vernünftigen Preisen. Leider in der heutigen Zeit immer seltener. Auch Vegetarier kommen hier voll auf ihre Kosten. Der Service war sehr freundlich. Es hat einfach alles gepasst. Wir kommen wieder. Schaut euch unbedingt die Speisekarte an.

We had a fabulous sparraggus cream and an equally amazing eins bain[?] Pig knuckle. Excellent strudel and house beer. Too bad we were no able to return. Con: Place is a little small.

Very good German cuisine, including delicious vegetarian options, tarte flambée and a daily menu, at fair prices for the location. Attentive service with a lot of Berlin warmth. The small beer garden in the inner courtyard has a lot of rustic charm - as does the entire house - and lots of greenery. I had dinner here with a few colleagues from all over Germany and everyone really enjoyed it. The audience was diverse - tourists, families, afterwork. The Sophien 11 is definitely on my personal shortlist. Note: Only cash payment possible.

I sat in the rustic pub, dark wood, old furniture, lots of pictures of old Berlin, a lovely atmosphere! I had an excellent coachman goulash! The service was really nice and quick, I felt very comfortable and will definitely come back, the menu still had a few Berlin classics to offer that I would like to try. Thank you 😊

It's a beautiful place with such a cute courtyard, decent food but with the worst waiter ever. I ordered a ginger ale that never came and the waiter still blamed me for not reminding him he forgot when it was time to pay (what the hell???). For the record, I was at a table with five of my friends and they had to remind the waiter every time they ordered a drink at least once. It's ok to forget but at least be nice to your customers is the least you can do. Funny because we all counted the right amount of money for the bill and when he counted it himself, 10 euros was magically missing and he even wanted us to pay for the ginger ale that never came... how lovely! I would definitely recommend this place if rudeness and being mistreated by an a*****e is your thing

Great restaurant if you want to get stole by the waiter. You ordered a drink but never had the chance to drink it because the dude forgot about it. Bad luck for you, you have to pay because apparently we are too stupid to not ask. And when you tell him that it’s his fault, there is surprisingly 20euros missing from the total count. What an absolute a........! But I have to say the main dish was extra delicious, never had this kind of schnitzel before. But the service? I'm really disappointed because the food was so amazing but you spit on our face with you final disgusting move (final disgusting move = stole us money because he is a d0uchebag) Ciao ✋

If you are in the Jewish quarter near Hackescher Markt, you need to find Sophie’s 11, a small quaint restaurant that serves traditional German food. From the fresh flowers on the tables to the original historic photos on the walls, this place is a gem! We both ordered pork schnitzel. One with mushrooms & the other with horseradish. Both delicious with a chilled white wine. Dessert of kaiserschmarrn was a delight! Thank you gals for such a memorable evening in Berlin, your historical & beautiful city. We hope to be back!💕

Charmant petit restaurant, près d’une des sorties des Hackeschen Hoffen. Il est possible de manger dans une cour très calme, au son d’une fontaine. Les plats sont typiquement berlinois (recommandation pour le gulasch). Pas de plats enfants, mais ils peuvent faire des efforts pour eux. Attention, pas de paiement par carte, uniquement en cash.

There is a point deduction in advance for not being able to pay by card - I find it almost ridiculous in 2024. At the same time, many other restaurants/cafes no longer accept cash. We thought the food was "okay" - but it wasn't a highlight and I personally have experienced the dishes better several times - at comparable prices. I found the service rude, and I also found the tone inappropriate, especially when dealing with other guests. What really surprised me was something I had never seen (or paid attention to?) in Germany or Western Europe - there was an "envelope" item on the bill, which was about 5% of the total amount. Research revealed that it was some kind of charge for the “coverage.” I don't want to classify this legally at this point, but I assume that the prices on the menu should be final prices - that's my understanding. I wouldn't recommend the restaurant - the overall package doesn't suit me.

For me an absolute must visit when I am in Berlin. Quaint restaurant, super delicious food, perfectly priced and a nice atmosphere. The service is friendly, with the typical Berlin style. Direct and warm. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and can only recommend Sophien11!

Very good, home-style German cuisine. We ate there four times during our stay in Berlin and everything was very tasty. The service is friendly and warm. If some people rate the service here as unfriendly, it's probably because they can't cope with the Berlin mentality. Personally, I'm from Cologne and, just like the Berliners, we have a relaxed mouth and our hearts on our tongues. I find it very charming and am already looking forward to our next visit. Sophien 11 is a real insider tip for tourists.

Quaint pub and good German food. We came without a reservation and were lucky to get a table in the small, rustic restaurant. The dishes correspond to good German home cooking. The range of drinks is quite good; there are only German wines on the menu, which corresponds to the character of the pub. The service was a bit impersonal, perhaps the waiter was a bit stressed because the restaurant was full. Cash only! Price-performance ratio is quite okay.

Recommended by an American friend who lives a few months a year in Berlin, excellent suggestion. My wife had the devil's schnitzel, I had the goulash, and both were delicious. Potato soup to start was perfect. We did not realize there was an outside area to eat but it would not have mattered for us because it was 3° out and we needed someplace warm. The inside space was quaint, pictures on the walls, an old-fashioned cash register, only a few tables and beer taps that look like they have been there forever

If you like typical German cuisine, you will find it here. In addition to the a la carte, daily specials from the kitchen are posted on the outside wall of the house. The dishes are classic, hearty, with lots of meat and Berlin warmth. Unfortunately, we were a little late and were warmly welcomed after a short phone call, as the kitchen actually closes at 9 p.m. and we were still waiting for our order. Absolutely wonderful! Thanks. Kathi & Norman were very friendly, attentive and up for any joke. Unfortunately, not everyone can cope with the open, clear, direct manner and "Berlin snout" - as it is colloquially called. But it is precisely this honest, authentic and critical nature that makes the city so wonderful. Anyone who looks at the house from the outside will notice that it is one of the smallest houses on the street - and in fact it is also the oldest building on the street. The small interior is cozy and rustic. The beer garden in the courtyard of the house, which is open in summer, is very nice. We were happy with our food, just classic home cooking - even if it's not one of my favorites. And the Fassbrause is always delicious. We really enjoyed the evening. The Sophie 11 is particularly recommended for a visit to the beer garden.

i have been there few times. Food is good But service is poor. Our last diner there, we ordered food and alcohol for 2 persons. And the waiter has refused to bring us a glass of tap water.

Ein wunderbarer Ort um klassisch Deutsch zu essen. Kohlrouladen, Kassler, rinderroulade, Grünkohl. Egal alles schmeckt. Is essen eigentlich ente nicht deutsch, aber hier werden kindheitsträume was das Essen angeht wahr. Essen wie bei Oma. Wirklich zu empfehlen. Danke auch an die sehr liebenswerte Gastgeberin die den Service alleine schmeißt. Das ist anschaungs Unterricht wie es gegen kann. Danke

Echte berliner Küche, frisch zubereitet und lecker, sehr freundliche Bedienung, tolle Athmosphäre, cool und gemütlich. Im Winter unbedingt reservieren, im Sommer kann man auch wunderbar draußen sitzen. Wir kommen jeder Zeit gern wieder!

Das essen hat mich gar nicht überzeugt. Besonders der Kaiserschmarren war sehr trocken und nicht lecker. Die Portionen waren auch sehr klein. Nicht zu empfehlen!
