After waiting 1.5 hours for our food, it came out of the kitchen quite burnt. The food was inedible and overpriced overall. How poorly run a restaurant is when a plate like that leaves the kitchen? The gastronomic incompetence is complemented by rudeness. After about an hour of waiting, we dared to ask how long it would take, as we were already quite hungry. The response from the plump man who introduced himself as the manager was: A one-hour wait is completely normal here on a Saturday. Our somewhat astonished expressions led us to ask: Where are you from? No matter where we come from, we'll definitely never come back here. Definitely not recommended.

We had made a reservation in advance for my birthday and explicitly stated that we were bringing a dog and would like a quiet table on the terrace. Unfortunately, nothing was prepared when we arrived. The waitress simply told us we'd have to take care of things ourselves, so we pushed tables together, found cushions, and waited. It took over half an hour for the first (and ultimately only) drink to arrive. The food also took a very long time to arrive. My steak au four was so dry it was practically inedible. Unfortunately, my guests weren't satisfied with their dishes either. I also found it disappointing that no one even asked how we were satisfied. We'd had very good experiences here on previous visits, hence the two stars – which made it all the more disappointing that nothing was right on my birthday.

Unfortunately, the service was very poor. We were ignored and couldn't place an order for 15 minutes, even though there were hardly any other guests present.

Very friendly service. The ham hock lacked sauce, but it was easily refilled. The food is very filling and recommendable, so the price is justified.

Everything took forever. For the drinks to arrive. For the ordered food to arrive. The restaurant was only a third full inside, and not even half full outside. We waited a good hour for our food. Three of the five dishes that arrived were lukewarm to cold. The children's meal came with mashed potatoes, which I would argue isn't even a proper homemade mashed potato. The staff was generally friendly, but very inexperienced.

We had lunch on the terrace – very friendly service, the food was tasty, and the portions were generous – we highly recommend it!

On August 20, 2025, I wanted to celebrate my birthday with five people. We reserved a table, and everything went smoothly. The service was friendly, but when the food arrived, it was lukewarm. To top it all off, after what felt like about 20 minutes of not ordering anything, the boss, Mr. Sommer, came over and demanded we pay if we didn't order anything else. He also slapped a "reserved" sign on our table. I've never experienced anything like that before! We've been regulars for over 20 years, and we've never experienced anything like that before! Very disappointing! As a guest, you should ask in advance how long you can sit!

We've stopped at Sommer's Wirtshaus several times during our short bike rides. And time and again, we feel well looked after here – whether inside or outside, whether the sun is shining or the clouds are gray with rain. Delicious food leaves us full and satisfied, especially thanks to the friendly staff. We'd like to share this satisfaction and recommend Sommer's Wirtshaus to other visitors to the beautiful Elbe Valley.

I ate at your place on August 4, 2026, and I must say that it was very pleasant at first. We were served quickly and attentively, and the appetizer was truly delicious. When the main course was served, however, our joy vanished. We had ordered a cordon bleu and a knuckle of pork. The cordon bleu was unfortunately very dry, and the fat layer on the knuckle was so hard that a brick would have softened it. When I asked if it was normal for the fat to be so hard, our server took the plate to the kitchen, returned about a minute later, and said, "The kitchen says this is normal. If it's too hard, just leave it on the plate if you don't want to eat it." It was also very obvious that the crust was burnt and had been scraped off. I thought to myself, maybe it would still taste good—other than that. But then I found a hair in the sauerkraut, and when I tasted the sauce, it was all over for good. I didn't mention it to our server again, as I expected a similar response anyway. The sauce tasted very artificial—like it came from a can. I'm a chef myself and know what a good beer sauce should taste like. I think it's a shame that I paid a lot of money for a meal that I ultimately barely got to enjoy. I wish you a pleasant evening, though.

Sommer's Wirtshaus is truly one of the best restaurants in Dresden's Laubegast district! It's a rustic restaurant with down-to-earth Bavarian cuisine. The portions are relatively large, and freshness is a top priority. The salad isn't a boring iceberg lettuce, but contains arugula alongside fresh bell peppers. You can choose your own side dishes. I think it's great that they even serve fresh boiled potatoes, not just boring fries and croquettes! Currently, they're serving fresh chanterelle mushrooms, an absolute highlight. The service is generally friendly, though sometimes a bit overwhelmed. That's probably because many students work here, and every beginning is difficult. One thing is very amusing: the menu lists a Wiener schnitzel made from "house pork," which is, of course, technically completely incorrect! A Wiener schnitzel consists of veal, and a breaded pork schnitzel is actually a "Wiener-style" schnitzel. As the owner, I would change that as soon as possible. I can recommend this restaurant and am already looking forward to my next visit!

Amazing traditional German food!

Always a lovely spot right on the Elbe for spontaneous meetings with friends. Friendly staff. My only minor criticism: the Quarkkäulchen (curd balls), advertised as "homemade" on the menu, were unfortunately a convenience product. The other dishes are of good quality and very tasty. Especially in summer, please note: the kitchen currently closes at 8 p.m.!

Not recommended as a guest you will be ignored one hour before closing time

I recently visited Sommers Wirtshaus and can highly recommend it! The restaurant is incredibly cozy and quaint, ideal for a relaxing evening. The service was friendly, attentive, and super fast, so we immediately felt at home. The food was simply fantastic! The schnitzel was tender as butter, and the salad was fresh and crisp – perfectly matched. The cabbage noodles with the delicious sausage were a particular highlight and really impressed me. Another plus point is the fantastic view of the Elbe River, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. I will definitely be back and can highly recommend this inn!

We visited here during Pentecost. With a few minor exceptions (not noteworthy here, as they were discussed with the staff on site), the food was absolutely delicious. The service was always pleasant and friendly. The beer garden was very inviting with a view of the Elbe. Unfortunately, we didn't get to use it for long. A downpour was the culprit. A restaurant you simply enjoy visiting again and again I've been coming to this restaurant regularly for several years – and for good reason. The quality of the food, the atmosphere, and the friendly service impress me every time. It's one of those places where you feel welcome from the very first moment – ​​whether with family, friends, or even alone. The cuisine impresses with traditional dishes prepared with care and taste. I particularly appreciate the German and Austrian classics, which are not only authentic but also always served fresh. The schnitzel with fried potatoes is, in my opinion, the best in all of Dresden – crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, perfectly seasoned, and simply a delight every time. The ambience also contributes to a feeling of well-being: cozy, well-kept, and with a touch of rustic tradition. At the same time, you can tell that the work here is done with passion – the service is always friendly, attentive, and courteous, without being intrusive. What makes me particularly happy is that even after all these years, the restaurant hasn't lost any of its quality – quite the opposite. You can feel the team's passion for what they do. For me, it's become a kind of regular spot, where you can always rely on good food and a great time.

Laubegast is already a particularly beautiful spot on Dresden's Elbe River bank. It's even more so when a restaurant in a prime location, right on the Elbe Cycle Path, entices with an interesting menu that lives up to its promise. I thoroughly enjoyed the vegetarian options... THANK YOU.

According to the receipt, Sophie served us. Unfortunately, it is also the reason why our rating is so bad. The ambience is great opposite the Green and directly on the Elbe. However, the service didn't really treat us pleasantly. Rather disrespectful and unfriendly. We then decided against a longer stay and paid as soon as possible. If the service had been different, we might have been happy to stay. In addition, around €12 for a beer and a soda is a really sporty price…

Quaint inn located directly on the Elbe. We were lucky that we got the last available seats without a reservation. Service staff are quick, friendly and relaxed. Although the inn was full to capacity, there was no rush and drinks and food arrived in a reasonable time. We had an onion roast with fried potatoes and turkey breast with a pumpkin seed crust. Both meals were leisurely and top quality. And the portions would have fed one more person. Prices are perfect. We had a lovely evening with delicious food and friendly service. We can recommend it with a clear conscience.

We were here for dinner on March 16, 2025 with seven people. The prices were really 😧 steep! But hey, I'm happy to pay a bit more for good service and quality. But that's not how it turned out, unfortunately. Some of us would have liked to have asparagus, but we were told that it had been sold out since lunchtime. Can't you put that on the big board in front of the restaurant so that guests know straight away?! So I ordered a "pork knuckle, crispy grilled with barrel-fermented sauerkraut, grandma's potato dumplings and sauce"! After waiting for over an hour, I got my food. Crispy grilled??? No such thing. It was more like a mushy pork knuckle that was partly raw on the inside. Ugh... Tasted like shit!!! Some of the other meals also went back halfway because they tasted simply awful. My recommendation: hire a proper chef who knows his craft and doesn't scare guests away so that the prices are justified!!!

This week we went to Sommer's Wirtshaus for a business lunch. As always, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was wonderful. As a company we also had our Christmas party there. The buffet was amazing! Absolute recommendation! VG, Zobjack family

The food was OK. We were scheduled for 1 p.m. on December 27th. reserved. After about 90 minutes we received our food. Another table ordered before us and even received their food after us. When asked, the waitress said there was a shortage of staff. It stayed that way. Maybe next time you should warn your guests right at the beginning, not serve so many guests or give out a compensatory drink. But the whole thing wasn't satisfactory.

We were recommended by friends and we were absolutely fine with it. A reservation is definitely recommended! It's comfortable to sit in and it's warm, even though there's no vestibule and we actually sat next to the door. Nice staff and super delicious food. All dishes were great. Dessert can be found on the ice cream menu. There are also various dishes from the South Tyrolean area - Kaiserschmarren or apricot dumplings, for example. My roulade was super tender and the sauce was absolutely perfect, the red cabbage was delicious and seasoned a little differently than usual. I've perhaps never had it so delicious! I could go back straight away. 1000 thanks to the kitchen! The only thing I really didn't like was that some of the tables had stools without backrests. If you just want to sit back and relax, that won't work. And for me this is a must in the restaurant. There are high chairs that have at least a small backrest - I would replace them with this one.

Great food, delicious and also very good in terms of price. For everyone, it's been a long time since I've eaten something so good outside. Always happy and highly recommended.

We were here for dinner. A table was reserved the day before, but this was not necessary as there were hardly any visitors on Sunday evening. The service was friendly and accommodating. The dog was also welcome and even received water and treats. The food came after a short time, was plentiful and tasted excellent. All in all a successful evening. Personally, I would say the price is on the upper limit.

Was invited to a family celebration. Food was very tasty 😋. Only the service was poor for me. Drink or food orders took a very long time from order to delivery. Cutlery for eating had to be requested separately. I won't go to Diesel Lokal myself.

We are Laubegasters and have given the inn a second chance. Like the first attempt, we were seated, but no one came to take the order. It was busy both times, but given the reasonable prices I don't want to wait 20 minutes to place an order.

We wanted to go out to eat at the end of the holiday, unfortunately that didn't work out. The restaurant was open until 10 p.m., we were there just before 8 p.m. The waitress came once to take the drink order and a second time to bring the drinks. Since we were still deciding what we wanted to eat at the time (just after 8 p.m.), the waitress told us she would come back. After waiting half an hour and waving and shouting several times but being consistently ignored, I went to the counter to place the order. The waitress looked at me completely surprised, asked which table we were sitting at and explained to me as a matter of course that the kitchen was closed (it was 8:40 p.m. at the time). Then she hurried away, I thought she would sort it out and then come back to us. But unfortunately nothing happened again. After another ten minutes I went to the front again to pay and again commented that we would have liked something to eat. Comment from the man behind the bar: “Well, they looked and looked. If you don’t decide…” Mistakes can happen and when we are forgotten... it happens. But this stupid answer wasn't okay because the waitress didn't ask again or inform us that the kitchen was closing. And to add: there were two gentlemen sitting next to us who tried to pay for over half an hour, but were also ignored. Luckily there is a pizza supplier and a kebab shop in Laubegast, so we didn't have to go hungry that evening.

When, on my bike tour stop, I am served a country house brawn with excellent homemade remoulade and wonderfully "baggy" fried potatoes with the perfectly tapped Bavarian Hellen by a waitress who is as charming as - I can hopefully say this: ultimately attractive - it makes me happy and I'm with you Not really worth rating stars. PS the inn is located directly on the Elbe, which is particularly picturesque…

Space in the beer garden was good, as was the food, service was friendly but professional with problems, a beer bottle was served to you without a glass and you only got it when you asked. Cutlery is only available upon request.

The view of the Elbe was absolutely beautiful. The guest garden is kept simple. The service staff was quite hectic even though the guest garden wasn't full and the guests came one after the other. We were still waiting for a colleague, but had to say 4-5 times that we were waiting for a colleague to eat. The two cellar workers kept coming and wanted to eat. That was a bit intrusive. The food was definitely very good and tasty. In terms of price, it's too overpriced for a pub.

Immerhin bekamen wir 3 köstliche Leitungswasser und in Ermanglung einer Karte, wollte ich zahlen. „Mit Karte oder bar?“ Spätestens jetzt hätte ich stutzen sollen - bar. „12,-€ holte ich etwas verdutzt aus dem Portmonee, die samt Kellnerin verschwanden, ohne dass ich etwas sagen konnte. Wartet man heute nicht mehr darauf ob und in welcher Höhe man ein Trinkgeld geben möchte? Naja, irgendwie doch Glück gehabt, dass wir nicht auf Toilette waren, ein Spülgang hätte womöglich meine Bargeldreserve gesprengt und ob eine Umbuchung auf Kartenzahlung problemlos gegangen wäre? Zur Küche kann ich leider nichts sagen, konnte ja nichts aussuchen.

I had dinner here with my grandma a few weeks ago. Super friendly staff, we had the blonde waitress, she was extremely accommodating and gave us a great visit. I myself have some unusual eating habits and usually have a hard time in some places. But something was offered straight away and they immediately adjusted to my needs. The food was also very good and we will definitely come back! We were lucky enough to get some of the chanterelles and they were so delicious. Definitely recommended.

I have never experienced such poor, rude and even discriminatory service. I ask myself the question, when you have invested so much money in a business, why such staff are hired. The blonde waitress with the glasses definitely shouldn't work in customer contact. The managing director (Mr. Sommer) should think better about it... I can't comment on the food because we left the beer garden after 10 minutes.

We came from jogging and wanted to eat and drink something in the beer garden. Unfortunately, our water bottle from jogging was still on the table. A blonde waitress warned us, shouting loudly across the beer garden, that it wasn't appropriate to consume our own drinks. Clear. We didn't plan on that either. We would have put the bottle down immediately. But the tone was so cheeky and outrageously unfriendly that we no longer had any motivation to eat or drink anything here. The sound still makes the music. Someone needs to explain it to her...

Traditionelles deutsches Restaurant direkt am Elbufer im historischen Ortskern. Deutsche Küche mit saisonalen und vegetarischen Gerichten, Kinderkarte. Schneller Service und gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Das Restaurant hat auch einen Biergarten mit kaltem Bier im Sommer und heißem Glühwein im Winter (hat uns an einem frostigen Januartag gerettet :)). Ideal für einen Zwischenstopp auf einer langen Wochenendwanderung oder Radtour. Das bei den Einheimischen beliebte Restaurant ist an den Wochenenden und am Freitagabend ein Treffpunkt für die ganze Familie. An diesen Tagen ist eine Reservierung für das Abendessen unbediengt erforderlich.

When we had pushed aside the slight annoyance about a very young, very snippy lady in the service (who obviously wields an iron scepter) and sat at one of the few tables in the outside area (make sure to reserve - "nice" tables are reserved as a general rule and will be awarded based on "nose" ) we were able to enjoy the well-kept beer. Service's early warning system "8 p.m. kitchen closes" (!!!) works, because at 8 p.m. sharp there isn't even a pretzel left. The portion sizes suffered quite a bit during the lockdown, the giant crumb schnitzel we used to admire is now an average schnitzel with a dollop of fried potatoes. Maybe it was because we ordered the food shortly before the kitchen closed and there wasn't any left, who knows. The pasture-raised beef tartare was also clear; given the price, it must have been the butcher's favorite beef. The 2nd stage early warning system went off shortly before 10 p.m. and you are asked to complete the ordering process with the call "last" round. Because at exactly 10 p.m. the departure takes place by hectically putting together the seating and collecting the seat cushions. So you don't even have time to digest the shock of the huge bill - 8 beers, 1 schnitzel, 1 tartare and 6 doubles result in a bill of €116!!! That's what I call sporty - inner-city prices in a beer garden in the east of Dresden. Or just a tourist joke. It's a shame, we were here often before Corona. But there are other beer gardens in DD. Gladly reasonable prices for reasonable service, but don't rip me off. And if so, please do so with charm and friendliness. That ma

The inn was packed on Sunday lunchtime. The young woman who served us was open-minded and tried to please everyone. The gentleman behind the counter made an unfriendly, stubborn impression. That was off putting. The steak and cheese spaetzle were tasty and hot. The macaroni for the kids was cold and the burger wasn't good either. The meat patty was completely solid and dry. In my opinion it wasn't fresh. But after waiting for over an hour for the food, you were just hungry and didn't want to go back. A pity.

The food was ok but unfortunately everything was too expensive... Who deserves a golden nose here?

Very nice and rustic food is very tasty and there is something for everyone

We ate there for the first and last time today. You felt like second class people. First we would have to get the menu ourselves. After everyone in front of us was served, we wanted to leave. If only we had done it. The food was lukewarm and came after over an hour. Other guests who arrived after us had their food much earlier. The waitresses regularly asked other guests whether everything tasted good and whether everyone was satisfied. Nobody came to us. To top it all off, we were presented with a bill for 70 euros for 3 dishes and 4 drinks. No thanks.

We spontaneously decided to spend an evening in the inn. Despite the restaurant being full, our food arrived on time. The service staff was constantly on point and asked how we were. The food is amazing and the prices are completely reasonable. Always happy again👍👍👍.

Hier kehren wir seit Jahren sehr gerne ein. Bayerisch angehauchte Speiseauswahl. Alles sehr lecker. Biere und Getränke gut. Und die Elbe fließt ruhig vorbei. Ein Ort zum Einkehren

Leider wurde schon wieder unser Essen vergessen, das war nicht zum Ersten Mal. Der Service war auch völlig überfordert. Sorry , wir kommen nicht nochmal hierher

Obwohl im innenbereich niemand war und der aussenbereich nur zur Hälfte gefüllt, warteten wir gute 15 min auf unsere Getränke. Unsere speisenbestellung wurde komplett vergessen.

Diese Gaststätte ist sehr zu empfehlen, da man direkt einen Blick auf die Elbe hat, sehr gemütlich eingerichtet und man kann draußen auf der Terrasse es sich auch gemütlich machen und bedienen lassen. Sehr freundliches Personal und das Eis war auch sehr lecker.

Sehr nettes Personal, Essen top. Tatar vom Weiderind hatte mein Mann, ich hatte Steak a four mit viiiel (richtigem) Salat, also ohne Eisbergsalat usw....Getränke auch lecker. Bier könnte etwas kälter sein (lt. meines Mannes). Wir kommen definitiv wieder. Ich glaube man sollte für Samstagabend reservieren, wir waren so gegen 16 Uhr dort, draussen wurde es ganz fix voll. Wir saßen direkt vorn, mit Blick auf die Elbe....

Mal wieder im Wirtshaus. Bei schönem Wetter ist die Terrasse ideal. Das Bier ist immer noch sehr lecker (auch wenn der Preis mittlerweile mit 5,90€ sehr ambitioniert ist) und die Speisekarte offeriert neben den bekannten Gerichten punktuell auch saisonale Angebote. Das Steak mit Würzfleisch war sehr lecker und vollkommen ausreichend. Prima auch die Bratkartoffeln als Beilage! Fazit: Sehr zu empfehlen.

Super schöne Lage, Leckeres Essen. Kellnerin Celine war top. Daumen hoch, wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Tolle Lokalität ! Auch für Elberadwegnutzer ideal. Sehr gute Auswahl an Speisen. Die Teller reichlich gefüllt. Ob privat oder Firmenveranstaltung klare Empfehlung. Parken direkt möglich, aber nur begrenzte Kapazität.

Kenne ich schon lange, war aber heute zum ersten Mal hier. Klasse Essen, toller Service. Da werde ich gerne einmal wiederkommen....

Zum 6mal innerhalb drei Wochen da gewesen, Essen lecker, Getränke gut. Service qualitativ gut bis sehr charmant. Im Jahr 2023 allerdings auf VISA Zahlungen (nicht immer, sondern nur heute) mit ‚eigentlich nicht‘ zu reagieren regt mich deutlich mehr auf als es sollte. Komme dennoch wieder und zahle wieder mit VISA.

Beste Lage am Radweg, bayrisch aufgezogen. Service sehr bemüht. Auf das Essen mussten wir über eine Stunde warten. Wahrscheinlich der bekannten Personal Notstand. Aber geschmeckt hat's.

Wir sind vom Blauen Wunder aus hierher gelaufen ca. 4km und haben ein sehr leckeres Mittagessen bekommen. Die Bedienung sehr freundlich und das Essen lecker. Auch für Kinder gibt es eine extra Speisekarte. Wir kommen gern wieder. P.S. Wer nicht gut zu Fuß ist, in ca. 350m Entfernung ist die Straßenbahn der Linie 4 oder 6.

Super Personal ging auf unseren Wunsch (Essen teilen) ein und brachte unser Essen auf 2 Tellern. Das ist wesentlich mehr als man erwarten kann. Die Karte ist sehr transparent, die Portionen groß der Hof schön. Das Essen sehf gut. Kommen sicherlich bald wieder!

Schönes Restaurant. Das Essen ist sehr Lecker. Großes Lob an den Koch. Das Personal ist sehr Aufrichtig Nett und Hilfsbereit. In dem Restaurant gibt es ein Einzelraum wo man auch eine Party, Geburtstag feiern kann. Vor dem Restaurant gibt es genügend kostenlose Parkplätze. Der Ausblick auf die Landschaft ist sehr Beruhigend und schön. Wir kommen wieder und möchten uns sehr Bedanken.

Seit vielen Jahren unser Stammlokal, weil das Essen einfach vom Geschmack und Größe der Portionen unschlagbar ist. Die Bedienung ist immer freundlich. Leider sind in letzter Zeit auch die Preise für die Getränke, im Vergleich zu anderen Gaststätten unschlagbar hoch geworden. Was eigentlich ärgerlich ist, dass die Öffnungszeiten kurzfristig willkürlich geändert werden und nicht identisch mit den Öffnungszeiten auf der Homepage sind. Oft wird über Nachmittag die Gaststätte geschlossen. Trotz telefonischer Anfrage und Zusicherung, das geöffnet ist standen wir mehrfach vor verschlossener Tür. Für uns sehr ärgerlich, wenn man Anfahrtsweg und damit vergeudete Freizeit in Kauf nehmen muss. Der Besitzer, Herr Sommer, sollte diese Regelung vielleicht einmal überdenken.

Unfreundlichen Service. Absolutes no go!!!

Ich bewerte hier nicht die Speisen und Getränke sondern die unfreundliche völlig emphatielose ältere Bedienung heute am Sonntag Mittag am Tresen stehend. In Laufklamotten fragte ich höflich ob ich die Toilette benutzen könnte. Ein unfreundliches erst nicht verstehen, dann musste ich nochmals kleinlaut nachfragen, kam mir der Preis von 50 Cent entgegen. 50 Cent die ich mir sicher leisten kann - nur eben leider nicht einstecken hatte. Ja ich bin mir bewusst alles hat seinen Preis, aber einmalig als LäuferIn ( ich könnte es verstehen wenn ich als Spaziergängerin gefragt hätte ) die Toilette zu nutzen kann nicht das wildeste sein. Ich wäre für einen Restaurantgast gegangen, welche sicherlich nicht alle trotz Verzehr diese nutzen. Also um es aufzuklären ich „durfte“ nicht auf die Toilette. Diese Reaktion der Dame war absolut deplatziert und vollkommen unnütz. So schreibe ich meine Enttäuschung runter, anstatt mich als Gast für das Lokal aufgrund einer positiven Erfahrung einzufinden. Schade für mich und schade für den Wirt. Ich wünsche der Bedienung, dass sie den Weg zum Laufen findet ( macht nämlich zufrieden und glücklich ;)) und dann einschätzen kann wie man als LäuferIn manchmal in Situationen kommt, wo ein freundliches „Ja klar“ die Welt retten kann.
