Sigiriya in Berlin

The food is not quite like the original. Similar to Indian food but tasteless and very unseasoned. Small portions and high pricing for no good reason

Take the Appe (50-53) or Kottu Rotti (45-47) and youll be so happy :)

Very tasty food and drinks!!! Highly recommend the tea of fresh orange, cinnamon, cloves and honey. I never thought of putting cloves into a drink. It had a refreshing taste from the orange and aromatic flavors from spices. These two curries served with appe taste decent too.

The food is just 1a super delicious and the drinks are great too. However, unfortunately you're still hungry afterwards and that's the reason why I go far too rarely. I had the lamb for around €17. Given the quality, the portion is certainly appropriate for the price, but I would prefer €5 more pay and would at least be full. So that's why I'm deducting a star, no matter what I've had here so far, unfortunately it's just too little and therefore doesn't fill you up, which is a real shame given this great food and I think for some people it's the reason why you don't go there so often. So please think about your portions and then feel free to adjust the prices. Then I would eat out a lot more often because the food is great!

The food seems authentic and is delicious. Here you can find things that you wouldn't otherwise find in the neighborhood. Both the parents thought it was good.

Great Sri Lankan restaurant in Berlin! I tried the chicken kottu, lamb kottu, and appa with fish curry. The lamb kottu was a standout—generous portions of meat and very flavorful. The fish curry was incredible, and the service was friendly and attentive. Only downside was the price of drinks, and the sambola could be improved as it wasn’t quite up to standard. Overall, a fantastic experience. Highly recommend, especially for Sri Lankans craving a taste of home!

Leuk klein restaurantje; wij zaten gezellig buiten (het regende maar er is een groot afdak). Zoon heeft coeliakie en wij werden aangetrokken door de "glutenvrije opties". Dat was geweldig: heel erg veel keuze omdat ook de noedels en pannenkoekjes met rijstmeel worden gemaakt. We vroegen of het "echt heel erg glutenvrij was want coeliakie..." en de serveerster knikte heel beleefd, waardoor we niet wisten of ze ons begreep in ons matige Duits of gewoon beleefd wilde zijn en daarom ja zei maar we hebben het erop gegokt omdat ze op de kaart overal duidelijk bij hadden gezet (per gerecht) of iets glutenvrij was of niet. Wij aten de "hoppers" (leuke gefrituurde rijstpannenkoekjes) met allerlei groentengerechtjes en alles was heel erg lekker en ook heel betaalbaar.

the kottu was pretty good, not exceptional and definitely needed more salt, and more flavour in general. the curries looked super good though and menu was typically Sri Lankan. sweet staff, nice chill local vibe. would come again to have hoppers & curry 😇 (half vegan menu, half that you can add meat or fish :))

A small, nice restaurant with Sri Lankan cuisine. Every visit is a small trip to Sri Lanka. In addition to the traditional dishes, there are also typical drinks and the service is always courteous and polite. Always my pleasure!

Delicious cuisine and friendly service.

The food was okay, but not as Sri Lankan as I have experienced in the country. So unfortunately not a highlight in Berlin. The price-performance ratio is semi-good, the portions are small for the price. I had appa with eggplant curry and sambal pol. The curry came in a mini bowl and was definitely not enough for 4 large Appa flatbread bowls (more like only 2). Unfortunately, the flatbread bowls arrived 5-10 minutes after the eggplants, so my food was rather cold. :( The staff was really nice. We asked if the window could be closed because it was very cool last night. Unfortunately they forgot this and other guests sat down so they could no longer close the window. I probably won't come again. A pity!

So the food wasn't really bad, but unfortunately it didn't really taste like anything either. The portion is small, costs as much as a large, normal portion and unfortunately the taste is somehow lacking. All of the meat-free options are vegan, but I don't think they're that good either. The strawberry lassi is an absolute highlight.

Went on Saturday evening no crowd at all. Get plain Hoppers which are soggy and blent Don't recommended) and nothing is provided to dip in And vadai is also not tasty at all but served with jam but a good combo We Get mutton biryani and chicken biriyani But its not buriyani at all Just chicken curry and mutton curry mixed with basmati rice with excess oil. They use an excess amount of salad that does not cut the stems of the leaves also very uncomfortable to eat Service was good

Interesting food, unfortunately the service was probably new and quite overwhelmed, even though it wasn't that busy. There were two of us, our dishes didn't come together, cutlery was missing, both dishes were only lukewarm.

Overall it was okay: Service was rather weak - that's okay if you're quieter, but you could ask if you'd like something else to drink and how it tasted. Portions rather small. The taste was good, but nothing special. Would rather not come back.

The food was very interesting to try, however, the portions were pretty small. It does not look like it on the pictures, but there is one layer of food that is just spread over a plate. If one is really hungry, these portions will not make you full. Mango lassi was awful..

The eggplant and pol sambole appe are delicious. But there are also many other delicious dishes. It's just something special. You feel really good afterwards because the food is also very healthy. Also great for vegetarians. The employees are very friendly. I always enjoy going there.

The beetroot curry was great and very spicy. Also they make some amazing appams. Just Don't order the kottu parotta here.

Almost all dishes here are gluten-free and also suitable for those with celiac disease! Anyone who has never tried Sri Lankan cuisine should definitely come here. The selection of vegan dishes is also very large! It took me a long time to decide on a dish and I will plan the restaurant again on my next visit to Berlin.

One of the best Srilankan restaurant in Berlin. Great atmosphere and fabulous one. They have gluten free foods and vegan options. One of the best one i recommend is their kothuroti with fish. And the ambience of the restaurant is so peaceful feels like home.

I have visited the place couple of time and I have tried the menu that offers a wide range of authentic Sri Lankan dishes – from curries and rice to kottu, string hoppers and hoppers etc.. all customisable to our spice preference and have vegan options also. The friendliness of the staff, especially the owners, ensures a warm, welcoming atmosphere.The place is clean, cozy with beautiful Sri Lankan arts, adding to the authenticity and charm of the dining experience. Discovering a place in Germany that truly captures Sri Lankan cuisine is rare, but this restaurant hits the mark. It's like a little piece of home. Highly recommended for a delicious Sri Lankan meal in Berlin!

A nice restaurant with exceptionally friendly staff. The food is enjoyable, though I believe the portions could be slightly larger. The drinks are also excellent.

Unfortunately I find the portions small for the price. For 2 people with dessert around €70 without drinks. But you can eat in very good restaurants!

Great Sri Lankan food! Tried the Kottu and String Hoppers, both were great. They served a great chili oil/paste with the Kottu which would go even better with their fried rice(look for biriyani in their menu). Desserts were also good with the highlight being the watalappan. Service was great and although the space is small atmosphere was great.

So einen Laden braucht kein Mensch. Hatte einen Tisch für drei Personen, per Mail reserviert. Per Mail kam die Bestätigung der Reservierung und einige Tage vor dem Termin, kam auch die Stornierung der Reservierung per Mail, ohne Angabe von Gründen! Der Betreiber scheint es nicht nötig zu haben. Dann eben nicht, es gibt noch viele andere Restaurants!

Sigriya! What a beautiful restaurant, amazing staff and amazing food! Special thanks to the whole team who made us feel so welcome and served up the best cocktails and food! Wir kommen aus Augsburg und sind jedes Jahr mindestens einmal zu Besuch in Berlin. Ein Essen im Sigiriya ist dabei immer ein absolutes Muss! Es ist einfach nur köstlich. Mein Lieblingsgericht ist die Nummer 50, Hoppers mit Rote-Linsen-Curry und Kokosnuss Sambole. Es ist auch für Veganer geeignet und schmeckt super lecker! Ich freue mich heute schon auf das nächste Mal!

Sigiriya offers dishes typical for Sri Lankan cuisine. In the ordered dishes we could taste (and smell!) ingredients and seasonings like coriander, cinnamon, goraka, pandan leaf, lemon grass and more. The food is simply great, we enjoyed every bite of it. Although it wasn' as spicy as Indian food you can ask for some chili which makes the dishes really hot, be careful with it! Overall we enjoyed our late lunch at Sigiriya very much and definitely will visit it again 👌

außergewöhnliche Gerichte, interessante Gewürze - sehr empfehlenswert!

Durchschnittlich, wenn überhaupt. Von den tausend angepriesenen Gewürzen war überhaupt nichts zu merken und die generelle Qualität war auch nicht bemerkenswert. Bild von einem Kathu roti Gericht "mit Salat und papadum als Beilage" spricht für sich. Schmeckte genauso ereignislos, wie es aussieht.

Søde service. Første gang med mad der fra og den var fin. Har spist indiske mad og der er bare mere smag i. Specielt deres brød var bare fedt og ikke meget smag.

I had a great experience eating the Sri Lankan food for the first time. Sigiriya Berlin has many vegetarian and non vegetarian options. Atmosphere is very nice and the staff is super friendly. I will definitely go again when i get the chance and highly recommend others to come dine.

Sehr leckeres Essen. Laden war komplett voll, trotzdem nicht lange gewartet. Gemütliches Ambiente, etwas laut wenn es voll ist. Gepflegte (Damen-) Toilette.

Das beste Essen was ich je in Deutschland in einem Restaurant hatte. Beste Sri Lankanische Küche zu guten Preisen und sehr netter Bedienung. Auf jeden Fall komme ich wieder.

Das Vorspeisen (eine Teigtasche und eine Art Falafel) waren ziemlich trocken. Die Hauptspeise waren gut, könnten aber für den Preis ruhig größer sein. Kartenzahlung möglich.

This charming little restaurant, tucked away on Main Street, truly lives up to its name. **Dining Experience:** I visited Sigiriya Berlin on a Tuesday evening with my wife and was promptly seated by the attentive host. **Service:** The service at Sigiriya Berlin was impeccable. Our server, Sarah, was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also very attentive to our needs. She offered great wine pairing suggestions and made sure our water glasses were always full. Kudos to the entire staff for their professionalism and warm hospitality. **Price and Value:** While Sigiriya Berlin is on the upscale side, the quality of the food and service justifies the price. Considering the outstanding flavors and portion sizes, it was a good value for a special occasion.
