Service is great! The staff is really friendly. We received our food quickly. The paratha is good. The kottu is also nice, but it lacks Sri Lankan flavor. The gravy used for the kottu should be changed. The chicken also needs to be fried more for better taste. The gravy should have a stronger curry powder flavor. I hope you will improve this in the future!

We came there to eat as it was said this is a nice place to try Sri-Lanka’s cuisine. Service was so bad, I went out of the cafe being sad. I’ve never experienced this kind of crudeness and the way the owner, I guess, was doing me “a favor” didn’t help and made the experience even worse. I wrote below about the food. Despite Flammen being great I wouldn’t visit this place again. As food ordering shouldn’t be a roulette game, stomachache after visiting a restaurant is Big No-no and employees making you feel guilty for their mistakes is unacceptable About food: My friend ordered Chicken Flammen and it was EXTREMELY good - I fell in love with this dish. Chicken was so soft and juicy, veggies crunchy and all the right size, bread which was part of the dish was hot fresh baked. I’m The Foodie - it’s unbeatable. I ordered smth else (I forgot the name) - it tasted bad and later I had stomachache. Portions are big tho

Simply a great restaurant❤️! The food was super tasty, fresh and made with a lot of love. The staff was really friendly and attentive - you immediately feel at home. The furnishings are also stylish and cozy. All around a perfect experience!

There were 6 of us spontaneously without a reservation and we all ordered something different and got everything warm on the table at the same time. I was impressed then. The food tasted delicious and everyone was very happy. The service was very attentive. We'd love to come back.

Food: The taste of the food was okay, but nothing special. Service: Unfortunately the service was absolutely disappointing. The staff was unfriendly and we didn't feel welcome. Polite answers were given to polite questions, and glasses and plates were loudly and carelessly slammed on the table. Ultimately we were even asked to leave the restaurant because other guests were waiting. This is completely fine, but the manner was anything but friendly and respectful. Even though we paid quickly, we were repeatedly asked in an unfriendly manner whether we were leaving. Conclusion: If you're looking for food that tastes okay, you might find what you're looking for here, but if you value friendly and respectful service, you should definitely look for another restaurant. There are many Indian or Sri Lankan alternatives in Berlin with better food and service.

Restaurant with South Indian and Sri Lankan dishes. Informal environment. Friendly staff. Cheap but still ethnic food to my liking. Main courses of chicken or lamb cost between 14 and 17 euros. They also offered us a spicy piadina with sauces as an appetizer, and the course ordered with white rice in a common bowl to share, a kind of fried focaccia that is a substitute for bread and a small bowl of salad each. We also ordered a typical dessert. We were offered a low-alcoholic fruit drink at the end of the meal. We spent around 22 euros per person for dinner including a water and a 0.5 jug of house Chianti (if you feel like it you can also try an Indian wine), and we were more than full and satisfied. We left a good tip as we had a very good time.

Mutton fry was hard and the biryani which as per the thumbnail on Uber Eats is supposed to have chicken didn't have any meat. It was vegan.

Appam was served cold. Thats one thing you never do. Never serve appam cold.

Very nice food, delicious plates. Lots of options for vegan and vegetarian people. Also, many gluten free dishes. Attention is kind, although sometimes everyone seems to be in a rush. I can recommend the mango coconut shake 🪇 I appreciate that there's almost always a place to sit, even without reservation.

Good authentic srilankan food. We ordered chicken kothu parrota, which was very good and had spicy touch to it. The mutton rolls were tasty. We were warmly welcomed, and the staff were polite and chatted with us for some time. We would highly recommend this place and would visit again.

We recommend Appam and Chicken roast curry here if you are having food for the first time here. We found both really good. The ambiance was also nice with Tamil songs playing. Will be going there again after some time since the food is good

Their signature monk cocktail was excellent, and the food was flavourful. My only critique is they asked if I wanted it spicy and I said yes. They gave me "white people" spicy, which is more of a critique of white people's inability to handle spice. I would have liked a little bit more of a kick.

Excellent South Indian food, probably the best in Berlin. They have Filter coffee, Dosa, Appam and Idiyappam. The spice level is almost true to what it should be and can be adjusted to more on request. They also have a good selection of vegetarian dishes. I had the Filter Coffee (Chennai style), Fish Chettinad with Idiyappam and Chicken Roast. Can’t wait to go back!

We ordered chicken fry, with hoppers which was good. Then it was Parota with Chettinad chicken curry, which was also good. Highly recommend those two. Then it was coli biryani- again I have no idea why there is bell peppers, zucchini in chicken biryani. Super not authentic. Did not taste like biryani at all. The gravy that was served with it also wasn’t great and there was no yogurt, which is a must for a plate of biryani- definitely would not recommend. They charged 2.50 for one small cup of sweet coconut milk which was atrociously expensive for that quantity :/. Felt super bad for ordering it later. They really need to re think what they give for what quantity and how much they want to charge. The staff- super super slow. Had to wait for the takeaway order and bill forever. Neither a wow nor a bad place. They can do much better.

Very good food, fast and friendly service. The Yogi tea was not as sweet as other restaurants and was well blended. The dishes seemed very fresh, the redfish was super juicy. Our chosen dishes were all South Indian style and tasted accordingly. Next time we will try coconut dishes and the chillies.

The best biriyani i had in a while 😍

I had a masala dosai and Porotta. Dosai was decent, with a tasty potato filling, although the dosai itself was over-fermented. Parotta was mediocre, as it was very dense. We were disappointed with our waiter who was mean and condescending. Overall it was still a decent meal.

Lunch at this restaurant will never disappoint. On a rainy day, the staff at this restaurant served us home in a bowl of hot lentil soup with soft bread on the house and it was delicious. We had fish meals and chicken tikka sizzler. Absolutely delicious and the portions were too much for us. Must visit to indulge in the spices of South Indian cuisine.

If you having cravings for Srilankan and South Indian foods, this is the authentic place in Berlin. The Dum Biriyani in the weekend is so delicious. Chicken Kothu is nice 👍

There were four of us there and since then we have all had stomach problems, cramps, diarrhea and sometimes even a fever. Unfortunately not a nice experience.

The food was initially delicious, but unfortunately the service wasn't particularly interested or particularly friendly. There were four of us eating there, unfortunately all four people have had stomach cramps since the visit. Although we often eat South Indian or Sri Lankan food.

Unfortunately I was disappointed with my last visit. I had lamb with spinach and a bhatura. The Bhatura seemed like it was fried for the second time, so not fresh. The lamb dish also didn't give the impression of being freshly prepared. The meat was tough and the sauce had a kind of old taste. The service was okay, but not particularly friendly. I often eat Indian food in various restaurants in Berlin, but this one was in the lower quality ranking. All in all not recommended.

We went to this place with office colleagues on a busy Thursday. It was quite a walk from office but it was worth. Firstly this is not a srilankan place it’s a South Indian restaurant. What a food they have it’s awesome. We were so hungry they served 7 people a free soup and bread. We ordered a lot of stuff. Only chutney was not so great rest everything perfect.

I love this restaurant. I come here quite often with my family. The spicy food is actually spicy, so be warned!!! The chicken biryani on weekends is sublime. Chicken literally falls off the bone! Service is typically good and also great atmosphere.

Terrible experience. We got the Paneer dosa & Mutton biryani There were only 3-4 Cubes of paneer in the whole dosa with full of potato - they should have named it masala dosa instead. The mutton biryani tasted like they added Maggi masala - the taste was good but I don't want to taste Maggi when I order biryani. The service was also not great - the person who served was not very responsive to our queries. Don't recommend. Saravana Bhavan(Postdamer platz) dosa was way better with full of Paneer + cheese for the same price

The food is neither good nor bad. Service was neither impressive. It took long time for the service staff to notice new customers. Food was below average compared to other similar category restaurants in Berlin. Do not recommend this place considering the overall cost to value.

Was pulled in by the 'south Indian' menu and branding as a south-Indian and Srilankan restaurant. Ordered the Jaffna Jackfruit curry. Tasted like the one you get at a Bombay restaurant. Neither the taste nor the ambience brought the familiarity of the south. Even the music running on the background were some Bollywood Pop numbers remixed by a guy named DJ Pradhaan. If you are looking for authentic south Indian or Sri Lankan cuisine, you could well be disappointed.

There’s a Rajamouli look alike serving there who thinks he is the Bahubali😂 Someone tell him if he is a bit less rude then he might get the extra ‘please’ he so craves for doing his job… In no way it is meant demeaning but He IS Arrogant. Food was okayish Paruppu soup was good… Coconut chutney is made by someone who has never had authentic coconut chutney😂 Outdoor seating is good but on the Main Street so a bit noisy but still good on a nice weather day. There is another server there who is very kind and gentle, appreciated him over the ‘rude boss’ Overall okayish

Wonderful food and very friendly and fast service. The seven of us ordered a variety of dishes, all of which were seasoned differently. Sometimes different dishes are served in the same sauce. Luckily that's different here. We will be back definitely.

In the middle of beautiful Kreuzberg, there is very tasty food from Sri Lanka/South India & from very, very warm staff. Here you will be served with warm hospitality, any special requests will be taken into account and you will be met with good energy. I would love to come back. The food is really amazing but the waitress was very racist. I remember coming there with german friends and she was nice but when I went there here behaviour was indecent and not welcoming. Being a South Asian restaurant they should be good and hire people who see everyone through the same eyes.

It was a relief to find some good Tamil food. Enjoyed the variety of food and Tamil spices.

Except for my fish curry, which was really tasty, everything else was rather disappointing. A lot of it was very bland. I have lived in this region for over five years and know how authentic it should taste. Unfortunately it was far from that and very expensive. It's a real shame because the restaurant actually has a great menu with dishes that you wouldn't otherwise find in a standard restaurant.

It didn't taste good at all. Then they brought me the wrong dosa. There was a hair in one bread and the other tasted like it was 2 days old. The lamb was totally tough. My stomach is still unwell the next day.

Worst food ever in Germany. We came here based on the reviews. Named to be an South Indian Restaurant but no Indian touch. Only the menu names look South India. Better name it just Asian so people would not realise what exactly it is.

Heard and read many good reviews about this place so decided to give it a try when I was in Berlin. Booked a place on their website and received a confirmation too. When I reached there the next day, the place was closed. It was not mentioned on their website that the restaurant would be closed. How could they send a reservation confirmation if the restaurant was closed that day... Very disappointing.

The spinach with cream cheese is by far the best in all of Berlin. Absolute regular place and full recommendation. The salty lassi also has a lot of cumin, which I find really tasty.

Very authentic Dosa and Idly, the sambhar has the right texture, not too thin and not too thick, very balanced and authentic spices used. The coconut chutney was freshly prepared and curry leaves add the perfect blend. I would recommend for everyone whosoever is looking for eating an authentic dosa in Berlin. The staff is super friendly and warm welcomed. Chennai Kaffee is must try but not to forget to mix in the bowl before sipping, ask instructions to the owner if required. Would like to visit again to try chicken roast 😋😋😋😋

Fantastic place, what you see is what you get, no hidden costs, no bad quality, no disappoinment. The chief, an older guy with a beard, is a fantastic host. He knows what people want, can give a good suggestion. No discrimination if you are alone or a smaller group. Great place!

I can recommend it without any problem, I found South Indian cuisine here for the first time in Berlin in addition to the Indian cuisine known in Germany. The whole atmosphere on my first visit seemed very familiar to me. Another plus point...
