Shinsen Sushi in Kelheim is a great place for sushi and Asian delicacies. The dishes are freshly prepared and served with attention to detail. I particularly like the variety – in addition to classic sushi combinations, there are also interesting bowls and specialties. The atmosphere is relaxed, ideal for a cozy meal with friends or as a takeout. The location on Ludwigsplatz is centrally located and easily accessible. If you want sushi that shows the effort put into it, then this is the place for you.

One of the best sushi places we've been to in Europe. Quality bar for us is California. Really good serving sizes too (huge pieces of tuna).

The food was good overall, the waitress was extremely friendly, and the portions were really generous. One small suggestion for improvement: When ordering sushi, it would be helpful if the sushi types were described more precisely. A brief note would be especially helpful for special versions (e.g., with caviar). Otherwise, absolutely recommended!

Spicy, delicious, simply good – Shinsen Sushi Kelheim! We started with delicious sushi – fresh, perfectly rolled, and absolutely delicious! Then we had Thai curry with shrimp (delicious!) and chicken in hoisin sauce. The latter wasn't for the faint of heart – I was sweating and my nose was running. 😅🔥 But in terms of taste: a hit! The price-performance ratio is absolutely fine, the service is super friendly, and the atmosphere is pleasant. Conclusion: Highly recommended – we'll be happy to come back (and well prepared for the spice)! 😉

The restaurant itself is very understated. But the food is truly delicious, fresh, and not your average meal. The sushi 🍣 is also really good. All the service staff are very friendly and prompt. We're coming back.

The food is well-balanced and very interesting. Unfortunately, the interior is far too dark, and the noise level of the customers lacked a certain coziness. Nevertheless, it's worth a visit just for the food. The second visit earned it a fifth star because the sushi was really very good.

When the weather is nice, there is plenty of seating outside. The food is delicious and the portions are large. The prices are okay. I personally found the mango rice dessert to be overpriced for the tiny portion. The sushi is high quality and very tasty. All dishes were beautifully prepared. The homemade lemonades are refreshing and delicious. There were small language barriers with the service staff, but these could usually be solved by pointing at the map. Otherwise the colleague was fetched.

One of the best shushi I've eaten... we eat a lot of sushi and are picky. Very fresh and the ratio of salmon and rice is perfect (lots of salmon, lots of shrimp - no skimping here!). The rice is also perfect, even the rocket maki (fine and aromatic taste) was amazing and everything is beautifully prepared! The service is on point, friendly and available for a chat! I come from Kelheim but live in Austria, otherwise we would definitely come here regularly. Definitely worth a visit!!!!!! Thanks to the Shinsen Sushi team ❤️

A very nicely and comfortably furnished restaurant. The food is always first class and the service is always very polite and courteous. For anyone who likes Asian cuisine, the restaurant is an absolute must. There's really nothing to complain about. Shinsen is now my absolute go-to when I want to eat something good in Kelheim.

Went there for dinner today after the walk. You can't go wrong with fries. I had pepper beaf which was supposed to be spicy (according to the menu). It wasn't even that spicy and unfortunately tasted very bland. Meat was also tough. Unfortunately, the service was also totally overwhelmed because there were only two of them and the outside area was of course full given the weather. Too bad.

Cozy atmosphere with a family touch. Top service, very customer oriented, excellent food and drinks. Here you can feel comfortable as a guest. The saying “the way to the heart is through the stomach” is true here. For me, this is a first-class restaurant.

Been there several times in the last six months, the last time three weeks ago: Sushi is extraordinarily good, tasty, fresh with a large selection and beautiful presentation. There is also classic Thai food, which I thought would taste the same as always, but here too the preparation was fresh, very well seasoned and simply really tasty. The duck was simply well done, well prepared. The stars say it all, it's like that, nice little restaurant, with great service, super friendly staff. Oh yes: I'm "just" a guest there, simply thrilled by the cuisine and atmosphere. Keep it up and I'll become a regular. To say it all, the price is also right, good value for money.

Have now eaten at Shinsen for the third time. Sushi as well as the other dishes were always delicious and portions were plentiful. Friendly owners and good value for money. Come back soon! 😊

Shinsen Sushi is probably the best Asian restaurant in Kelheim - for years. There is a huge selection of sushi, including some vegetarian options, which I really like. It always tastes fresh and is extremely tasty. My favorites on the menu are probably the miso soup and the Oshinto & Kampyo Maki. The service is super friendly and has always made it easier for me personally to order, as I sometimes have difficulties with it. In summary, a wonderful restaurant with great interior design and fast, reliable service!

We were there for the first time today, but it definitely wasn't the last time! Both the peanut curry and the sushi were excellent, the service was super friendly and on the ball and the atmosphere was pleasant. We sat outside and were given a blanket when it got a little cooler.

Delicious food right at the starting point. Large selection of hot dishes and sushi. However, the teriyaki sauce was too runny for me personally and tasted more like a very sweetened soy sauce. The curry peanut, however, was very tasty. Portions are definitely sufficient!

We ate sushi, it was very tasty and fresh, fast, friendly service. Drinking water is very expensive. We sat in the beer garden, which doesn't really have any ambience.

Sushi is freshly prepared, top quality and absolutely reasonable in terms of price. Asian dishes are enough for big appetites and taste very fine. Price performance highly recommended. 💯

From our point of view, an absolute recommendation! We are not from the area, but have been to the restaurant several times and have always been looked after in an extremely friendly and courteous manner. In summer there is probably usually a place outside, in winter we would definitely recommend a reservation.

Sushi and sashimi are excellent, the best I've eaten so far and I've been around a lot. The sushi/sashimi is so fresh, you think the fish needs mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and it swims again, great! The little boss who bustles around in the restaurant is very friendly. The waitress, who is also smaller and stronger, is a bit resolute; she is probably some kind of boss or something like that. We'll definitely come back, but then I'll have to talk to the waitress!

Wonderful weather, wonderful location in the center of the beautiful town of Kelheim, super nice, friendly service, constantly smiling and perfect German!!!...And the stress that is inevitable with a good visit is almost unnoticeable. I was outside in the beer garden and not only enjoyed the delicious food but also the beautiful surroundings. The guest room is also very invitingly decorated. Yes, and everything is super clean. I also saw that the other guests were happy and satisfied.

Great ambience, as it is relatively dark in the store, a feel-good atmosphere is immediately created. No elaborate decorations with kitschy frills, the operators let the food speak for itself. And this one is terrific! The price is very fair as the ingredients are of the absolute highest quality. The staff is also very friendly and you get your food quickly. Highly recommended is the shinsen platter and the baked banana as dessert. The best sushi I've eaten so far. If there were more stars, they would have deserved them too :)

I had fried noodle with chicken meat. No taste, pasta overcooked. Carelessly done. Expected more for €13.90. Once and never again.

We actually went there the first time to eat Chinese, but when we saw the sushi at the next table, we couldn't resist and ordered a small plate for two. That was 2 weeks ago and I've been there 4 times since then 😊😅 You can probably only find better sushi (if at all) in Japan 😉

We had dinner there yesterday and ate the following: maki sushi, nigiri sushi 🍣, fried duck with rice and peanut sauce and udon noodles with duck. We had delicious lemonade to drink and what can I say: we were very excited! Everything tastes delicious, the waitresses are very friendly and give very good advice, the atmosphere is pleasant and the price/performance ratio is really great! Grade 1 - we'll be back 😊

I always enjoy going there. The atmosphere is very nice. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the food is simply to die for. Whether warm cuisine or sushi, you will find something for everyone. If you don't like raw fish, but sushi, there is vegetarian sushi or even fried.

Great sushi. We tried a variety of different rolls that were very tasty. A little bit too expensive compared to other sushi places but still worth going.

First time here and we loved it. Tom ka gai and small spring rolls as starters. Self made lemonades as drinks. Main dishes were peanut sauce chicken with rice, different sushi and salmon tartar. Icepresso (macha ice cream scoop and espresso) as dessert. And all of them were very tasty. We definitely come again. A bit irritating that we were the only guests on a Saturday around 14:00. This restaurant deserves more.

The food is so good that I could go there every day. We mostly eat duck. The sushi are also a burner. Unfortunately they are a bit expensive, but worth the money. The owners and service are soooo nice. The portions are huge. We will be back. The restaurant is very small. You deserve more stars.
