Gasthaus Zum Schützen in Kelheim

Ein herzlicher Empfang durch den sehr freundlichen Inhaber, der hervorragend Französisch spricht. Ein wunderbares Erlebnis! Der Inhaber empfahl uns einige köstliche Balkan-Gerichte … und der Service war exzellent. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Freundliche und aufgeschlossene Bedienung. Guter Service. Balkangerichte auch mal anderes (z. B. Burger im Fladenbrot) und sehr lecker. Schade, dass wir hier nur im Urlaub hingehen können.

Leider eine sehr enttäuschende und ekelhafte Erfahrung. In meinem Salat war eine Made – so etwas sollte in der Gastronomie absolut nicht passieren. Noch schlimmer war allerdings der Umgang mit der Situation: Anstatt sich ernsthaft zu entschuldigen und professionell zu reagieren, wurde ich vom Küchenpersonal noch blöd hingestellt. Als wäre das nicht schon genug, gab es weder einen Rabatt noch irgendeine Form von Entschädigung für diesen Vorfall. So geht man mit Gästen einfach nicht um. Hygiene, Kundenservice und ein angemessener Umgang bei Beschwerden sollten selbstverständlich sein. Für mich leider absolut keine Empfehlung.

Unser erster Besuch in Kelheim und dabei das Gasthaus „Zum Schützenhaus“ entdeckt. Service und Essen waren sehr gut. Wir haben uns wohlgefühlt und kommen gerne wieder!

Das Lokal zum Schützen ist jetzt unter neuer Leitung und das merkt man sofort: Der neue Wirt ist super freundlich und man fühlt sich gleich willkommen. Die Atmosphäre ist gemütlich und ungezwungen, genau wie man es sich in einem bayerischen Gasthaus wünscht. Das Essen war wirklich gut, bodenständig, frisch und mit Liebe zubereitet. Die Karte bietet klassische Gerichte, die richtig Spaß machen. Ich freue mich schon auf den Sommer, denn der Biergarten lädt schon jetzt zum Verweilen ein… perfekt um bei gutem Wetter ein kühles Bier und eine gute Mahlzeit zu genießen. Fazit: Der Schützen ist immer noch ein Geheimtipp in Kelheim, der unter neuer Führung viel Charme und Qualität mitbringt. Wer gutes Essen, herzlichen Service und bayerische Gemütlichkeit schätzt, ist hier genau richtig.

Nach einer Dreiviertelstunde wurde endlich das Essen serviert. Die Vorspeise wurde vergessen und im Nachhinein gebracht, immerhin auf Kosten des Hauses. Der Beilagensalat war lieblos mit einem langweiligen Dressing. Essen wurde etwas zeitversetzt gebracht. Essen der Kinder zum Schluss. Mein Salat mit scampi glich dem Beilagensalat in Bezug auf die Geschmacklosigkeit. Die Tintenfischringe waren ebenso fade. Ich peppte alles mit Zaziki auf. (Gab es aber nicht zum Salat, sondern hab ich vom Vorspeisenteller hinzugefügt). Lediglich die Scampi hatten einen guten Geschmack. In Summe wurde ich nicht satt und hatte mir wirklich mehr erwartet.

Tolles Ambiente, sehr netter Service und eine tolle Küche, zu fairen Preisen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Ich kann es von Herzen nur empfehlen, nicht nur das der Wirt und die Bedienung sehr freundlich ist. Das Essen ist fabelhaft, frisch und es ist für jeden etwas dabei. Auch eine große Auswahl an Getränken hat man hier im Angebot. Wichtig zu erwähnen wäre „Matcho“, die Hauskatze, zuckersüß und sehr streichelbedürftig! Wir kommen aufjedenfall wieder! Wir waren im Gasthaus zum Schützen in Kelheim und sind absolut begeistert! Der Inhaber Edin hat uns persönlich empfangen, unglaublich freundlich, herzlich und sehr kinderlieb. Man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Besonders toll: Auf Wünsche beim Menü wird flexibel eingegangen. Die ehrliche Empfehlung des Hauses – die Grillplatte – war einfach hervorragend. Eigentlich für zwei Personen gedacht, aber wir haben sie zu dritt kaum geschafft, so reichlich war sie! Das Fleisch war unglaublich zart, saftig und geschmacklich einfach top. Schade, dass wir nicht in der Nähe wohnen – aber selbst eine zweistündige Fahrt wäre es definitiv wert. Klare Empfehlung!

Ich habe meinen Geburtstag beim Wirt Edin feiern dürfen. Die Planung war sehr unkompliziert und er hatte im Nebenraum auch das perfekte Ambiente zum feiern. Preislich konnten wir uns auch einigen, was alles in allem sehr angenehm und preiswert machbar

Wir waren Samstag Mittag kurz vor der Schließung da, wurden vom Wirt persönlich begrüßt und sehr herzlich gebeten zu bleiben. Wir waren die einzigen Gäste und der Besitzer hat für uns ein wirklich sehr leckeres Essen zubereitet. Alles Bestens, nur zu empfehlen!

Unter neuer Leitung unverändertes Wirtshaus-Ambiente, optisch wie früher. Sehr freundlicher, engagierter Kellner, der im Verlauf des Abends den einzigen positiven Eindruck hinterlässt. Die Vorspeise: ein Schälchen Tzatziki mit Fladenbrot. Preislich 7-9€(?) Das Fladenbrot kam aus der Backabteilung vom Supermarkt, der einen Kilometer entfernt ist, hier braucht mir auch keiner was anderes erzählen, ich hab auch Fotos davon, falls man das jetzt im Nachhinein abstreiten will. Nach meiner Kenntnis dort für rund 0,80 Euro erhältlich, hier lediglich aufgeschnitten, halb angetoastet, in der Mitte noch kalt und mit Tzatziki serviert. Das Tzatziki war okay, gibt aber deutlich besseres. Portionen der Hauptgerichte waren gut, allerdings bei gleichen Hauptgerichten deutliche Unterschiede. Teils komplett versalzen, teils ohne Salz. Auffällig zudem: identische Fleischstücke auf Grillplatten, zum Beispiel Pljeskavica, mit spürbaren Unterschieden z. B. mal mit Füllung und mal ohne. Cevapcici komplett fettig - das Schlechteste, das ich seit langem gegessen habe. Aus irgendeinem Grund war auch jeder Beilagensalat unterschiedlich. Auch die Nachspeise enttäuscht: Ein (!) dünner Pfannkuchen mit Schokosoße, etwa 9 bis 10 €(?) dazu die kleinste Kugel Eis, die ich jemals gesehen hab. Dafür auf einem großen Teller breit verteilt. Was ich auch noch nie hatte; während unseres Aufenthalts sind Kinder im Gastraum herumgelaufen, die offensichtlich keine Gäste waren. Zumindest gehe ich davon aus, weil sie fortlaufend den jungen Kellner mit Sprüchen wie "du Ehrenloser" belegt haben, nachdem er sie zur Ruhe aufgefordert hat. Da freut man sich bestimmt, wenn man sich neben dem Abi ein paar Euros dazuverdienen will und sich dann mit sowas herumärgern darf. Lieber Inhaber, ich hab Gutes über dein Restaurant gehört (und würde auch gerne Fotos als Beweise anfügen, leider löscht dann Google jedes Mal automatisch die Rezension), weswegen wir auch hier waren, um einen Geburtstag in einer Gruppe zu feiern. Wir wurden sehr enttäuscht. Eventuell hatte der Koch/die Köchin einen monumental schlechten Tag, aber hier scheint ja auch am Konzept etwas nicht zu passen.

Chef Edin ist Mega freundlich, top Service, super Essen, Sonderwünsche werden ohne Beanstandung erfüllt. Die vorherigen Rezensionen haben uns dazu bewegt, dorthin zu gehen und es ist eine klare Empfehlung. Gerne wieder!

Highly recommended! I was there for dinner yesterday, shredded pork with sage, hot paprika, and garlic... I was completely blown away by the balance of the individual flavors in the dish. It had a very pleasant spiciness, harmoniously integrated sage and garlic in an excellent balance, and everything was freshly prepared in-house. I would never have imagined being so culinary-friendly in a Lower Bavarian beer garden. Who needs a tantris? ;-) I'd go back anytime!

The waitresses were very friendly and nice. I had the garlic shrimp with bread, which was amazing and so delicious. The cordon bleu wasn't my cup of tea. Unfortunately, it tasted like old pork. The ham and cheese weren't that tasty. 😕 And the other guests were so loud that you couldn't hear yourself.

A real insider tip in Kelheim! I was completely impressed by the Gasthaus zum Schützen – from the first moment to the last bite. As soon as you enter, you can feel the family atmosphere and warm Bavarian hospitality. The service is particularly praiseworthy: attentive, friendly, and yet pleasantly unobtrusive. We were there Sunday evening. The service was excellent. Otherwise, the food tasted like it had been warmed up. It was quickly put on the grill and then brought to the table. The chefs came out of the kitchen wearing blue gloves and had a quick smoke. I wonder if they changed them for the next meal? It all seemed a bit unprofessional. I wish the team all the best for the future. In any case, even though the beer garden is very nice, we won't be visiting the restaurant again... Best regards

It all began when our daughters asked us if we wanted to come along to the opening of the Gasthaus zum Schützen. I almost went to the wrong inn on that rainy evening... and now, after having visited the restaurant three times, I realize that that evening was the beginning of a culinary friendship. Everything we've eaten and experienced since then, in a friendly atmosphere, has literally blown me away, as the younger generation would say. However, I, an old school lad, highly recommend this restaurant. Anyone who has read these lines can, and should, form their own opinion. Josef L.

We went there for dinner on Saturday evening. The Balkan platter for two was incredibly delicious! Everyone else at the table also praised the food. The server was super friendly and quick. They also recommended a shot of schnapps after dinner. We'll definitely be back. It's a shame it was too cold for the beer garden. The beautiful, large trees certainly offer great shade and are a great place to sit and relax. I wish you all the best and keep it up. And remember the idea of ​​the hot plates. 😉😉

A very nice, quaint Bavarian restaurant. Unfortunately, the weather was bad and the beer garden was closed, but walking by, it looked very cozy. We went there for dinner. Our food arrived quickly after ordering, and it tasted wonderful. The portions were generous, and it was no problem to take the leftovers to go in a box. The owner was really friendly and took time for a quick chat with all the guests at the table. All in all, highly recommended; we'd love to come back :)

The Schützen is now under new management, and you can tell right away: The new owner is super friendly and makes you feel welcome right away. The atmosphere is cozy and informal, just as you would expect from a Bavarian inn. The food was really good, down-to-earth, fresh, and prepared with love. The menu offers classic dishes that are truly enjoyable. I'm already looking forward to summer, as the beer garden is already inviting you to linger... perfect for enjoying a cold beer and a good meal in good weather. Conclusion: The Schützen is still an insider tip in Kelheim, bringing a lot of charm and quality under new management. If you appreciate good food, warm service, and Bavarian hospitality, this is the place for you.

We had tzatziki with oven-fresh bread for our starter. The bread was truly oven-fresh and an 11/10 overall. For our main course, we shared the Balkan grill platter for two people. The platter itself was very good and highly recommended for those with a real appetite. The only criticism was the minced steak. It tasted good, but a minced steak made from fresh ground meat, rather than a convenience product, would have been better. The rest of the platter was made from fresh ingredients. Big praise goes to the waitress. The young gentleman did an excellent job, was always friendly and courteous. He always asked if everything was okay and if there were any other requests. You rarely find such a waitress. Highly recommended.

Went to this restaurant for the first time today. Very nice service and personally greeted by the boss. Drinks were brought to the table quickly and ordering food didn't take long. Food was all brought out at the same time. Cheese spaetzle were very creamy, baked feta cheese with a small side salad and toasted white bread, Viennese style schnitzel with cranberries and fries and a side salad and fresh asparagus with pork medallions and hollandaise sauce and also with a side salad. Food was very, very good and can only be recommended. Thank you for the great hospitality

We ordered a gypsy schnitzel and cream schnitzel. It's probably difficult to identify what's in the cardboard box. We expected more because the schnitzel was great last time. This time we most likely got ready-made sauce and subsequent stomach aches.

We ate there with 5 adults and 2 children at the beginning of April. The portions were very generous and the food was of good quality. We ordered salads, schnitzel and pork medallions - everything was delicious and excellent. We felt very comfortable and would definitely come back if we didn't live 450km away!

Now I would say...normal beer garden. I had the Nice salad. Was delicious. The dressing tasted good and was a filling portion. There could possibly have been 1 slice more of the baguette that came with it. But I think you can definitely get something if you ask. Service was super nice and attentive. You could tell that they really enjoyed entertaining guests. My companion had the homemade brawn with fried potatoes. Since everything was eaten here, I assume that this was also very tasty. I didn't see a direct parking lot, but you can easily park on the side of the road. The prices are also reasonable.

Food was so good I didn’t stop to take a photo. Pretty much everything is perfect. If I lived in the area this would be my go-to restaurant.

Nice location with a great beer garden. Super nice service and also very accommodating. The schnitzel was great and the nice salad was great too. Only the nuggets and the fries weren't that great. Unfortunately, 2 stars were deducted because the children's menu was really not good. But it can happen.

I had a very good meal today in the beautiful beer garden with linden and chestnut trees, very friendly and courteous service. If I'm in Kelheim again I'll definitely come back here.👍One thing I still have to get rid of later is that the price for the Braumeisterschnitzel with just fried potatoes without side vegetables or side salad is too expensive at €19.90. You can get the light wheat elsewhere for less than €4.

Inconspicuous on a side street - but super delicious food and great, friendly service. Food fresh, quick and generous portions. Everyone very nice. Very pleasant. The interior is being renovated, so a star deduction for the ambience. We'll definitely be back!
