SHIKI Restaurant & Cocktailbar in Dresden

We were a group of four and immediately had stomach problems afterward. Unfortunately, we're not going back to the restaurant.

An exceptionally good Asian restaurant! The tom ka soup at €9.90 initially seemed overpriced to me, but the quality of the broth and the freshness of the shrimp were high, so I considered the dish good value for money. My dish with the homemade udon noodles and crispy duck was fantastic! Who makes their own noodles these days, and the broth was homemade, too, not stock cubes! Unfortunately, I was so full after the soup and main course that I couldn't try any of the tempting-sounding desserts, but I'll make up for that next time! The service was very friendly and helpful. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

If you go there expecting an "omakase" menu consisting of several small, high-quality dishes, this is absolutely not for you. Quantity over quality is the order of the day here. The portions are reminiscent of the days of XXL restaurants and have nothing to do with healthy food consumption. The two-course menu culminated in a butcher's platter of beef, fish, and seafood. I can't recommend it unless you're with someone who can eat like a horse. Not even when I asked them that such portions couldn't be accommodated in a four-course meal was it handled sensibly. Otherwise, the location is beautiful.

Super delicious food and some very unusual drinks. Modern, new decor, attentive and friendly staff. The prices aren't exactly cheap, but they're reasonable for the location and quality. A definite recommendation!

A very good Japanese restaurant with a great menu and great drinks in a pleasant atmosphere. The food is excellent, everything is beautifully presented and tastes great! One of the best restaurants in Dresden if you like sushi and Asian food. The prices are a bit high, but the quality of the food is worth it. We'd be happy to return and highly recommend it.

The food is good enough. The sushi isn't anything special, but you do get a decent amount of fish. The cocktails look impressive, but aren't great (they don't contain much alcohol either). A fine place for dinner.

We visited this restaurant based on the good reviews and were sadly disappointed. Drinks are served in small glasses, only half-filled and topped up with an estimated 10 ice cubes. A non-alcoholic soda for 7 euros... we opted for grilled chicken with vegetables and rice. The vegetables consisted of a meager stalk of broccoli, 2 small slices of bell pepper, and 2 slices of zucchini. We exchanged the chicken after the first bite; it was tough and inedible. They then prepared a new portion for us. The rice was doubled and the chicken breast was cut in half (5 slices each). An absolute disaster for 21 euros. Small portions at exorbitant prices.

We went to SHIKI and unfortunately weren't entirely satisfied. We opted for the udon noodles with roast duck, lobster ramen, and a salmon avocado maki, as well as a salmon roll. The dishes looked very good. However, none of them really impressed us in terms of taste. Our drinks, however, were very tasty. The service was quite friendly. However, we were irritated that we were asked whether we actually liked the food. Apparently, someone at the next table had complained about the food, so the waiter apparently wanted to make sure everything was okay. All in all, we expected much more for around €90. Unfortunately, this will be our first and last visit to SHIKI.

The sushi was tasty. The price/quality ratio wasn't the best, but that's due to the city center location. There was a fly in the soy sauce. We only noticed it by chance. The presentation was otherwise good.

I ordered medium rump steak, but it was unfortunately overcooked. When I pointed this out, my plate was taken to the kitchen and, after about three minutes, was told it was medium and the plate was placed back in front of me. I ignored the flashing of the phone camera on my plate. I was truly speechless. The meat quality would have been great, but unfortunately, it was dry. Otherwise, the service was friendly and the food fresh and tasty. The non-alcoholic cocktails were great, too, and a welcome change. The noise level at Postplatz is relatively loud, but I still find comfortable tables on the terrace.

We were there for a business dinner, which was a mistake – far too loud. The food is excellent, the service is shaky, and one cocktail smoked half the restaurant by burning wood. In short, OK, but not a must-visit.

Nice ambiance, centrally located, and special cocktails. Otherwise, it's rather overrated. When we were shown to our table, we were told "maximum 2 hours due to the weekend," which is usually more than enough. But we waited an hour for our order/main course; if you order an appetizer or choose a dessert beforehand, it might be a bit tight. The food was okay, but nothing special. The cocktail bar offers some interesting cocktails.

Unfortunately, it was a sobering experience, as the store looks very nice from the outside and inside and generally has a nice ambience. The staff is very nice and accommodating, but the food didn't complete the experience. The food wasn't particularly seasoned and didn't have a real taste experience. It looked really nice, was beautifully presented and made with fresh ingredients, but unfortunately the taste was not convincing. There were also vegetarian options that could easily be made vegan, but these weren't tasty either.

Were there with a group of 9 people Had a pleasant seat on the 1st floor of the restaurant. It is very cozy and attractively furnished. The service is friendly. The selection of food and drinks is very large and the time it took to choose before we were first asked what we would like was quite short. If you are not familiar with the terms of what is being offered, you should ask or have it at hand, otherwise you will be lost as to what exactly is delivered on your plate. Because the € symbol was missing on the cards, the prices were very difficult to figure out, but everything was understandable once we understood the card system. Everyone at the table received their orders at the same time. Everything was very chic and of high quality. The taste was great. The quantity was quite manageable, which is common for sushi and therefore not disappointing. The price is already high. We spent a total of €110 for two people, which is pretty decent. Conclusion: Delicious. Price high. Taste and quality top. We will definitely come back again, but due to the prices not as soon, but rather on a special occasion.

Unfortunately, a very unpleasant evening. We had reserved a table for 4 people, all the tables were free, but we were supposed to sit at a table that was much too large for 6-8 people, where we felt lost and couldn't have a good conversation. Unfortunately, the chicken in the curry was far too tough and dry, making it unpalatable. The timely complaint was discussed by the staff. The alternative was the curry with vegetables only without chicken and it was swapped accordingly. The bill was still charged for the more expensive dish, even though it was returned and exchanged. There was no insight from the staff here. Overall, it's a shame that this unprofessional behavior on the part of the staff means that the rest of the evening, which was good in terms of taste, is overshadowed. Expensive food, some of it unfortunately not of the right quality and the lack of professionalism of the staff simply doesn't fit the price range. Too bad.

Unfortunately, we didn't feel really welcome. The waitress seemed really annoyed because we didn't immediately know what we wanted. It generally took a very long time for someone to come to us to even take an order, even though there were only 5 occupied tables at the time. The food itself was very tasty, a bit small and already expensive. What was strange was that there was no price information for the drinks. My companion had various fried foods. Below it was an oyster and a crab completely encased. It was a bit questionable 😅 I had the salmon myself, very delicious. The highlight of the evening, however, was that we had ordered the bill (we were the last table), but the waitress had forgotten about us and was already doing her billing. It was really bitter that we sat at the table like such idiots and still had to draw attention to ourselves. We should have just left...lucky we have manners

We ate here on a Friday evening and got a table for two even without a reservation. We were served very quickly and friendly. We ordered the 4-course menu twice. The fish was perfect in terms of taste and consistency. Every bite was excellent. There is a large and special cocktail and gin selection. In total we paid over 200 euros. But you can find something suitable in all price ranges, whether it's food or drinks. The service was very quick, friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended. Thanks to the whole team!

we visited this place for valentines day, booked a table a month in advance as we were planning this trip specifically to Dresden. I fell in love with their instagram and reviews and expectations were in line with the decor and prices. What a disappointment it was that we had to wait for our table for about an hour! the staff is diligent, but their approach is mechanical and insensitive, I think the owner himself does not understand that a restaurant and food are a nice atmosphere, good service and passion in the dishes! The sushi itself was delicious, the fish melted in your mouth, the taste of the rice was perfect, but it was noticeable that they were made carelessly and in a hurry. The tables are wobbly, the sofas are absolutely uncomfortable and the chairs... you can see that the interior is very cheap. we had to remind the waiter several times about our drinks and desserts. price and quality .... Our Valentine's Day was ruined by such an attitude I got a huge feeling of disappointment My partner's back hurt all evening after this place. By the way, I advise you to ask for soy sauce right away! Because you will have to wait a long time for it

The food used to be much better. It's nothing special anymore. Very unfortunate. A spicy Tom Yan Gung soup is very mild. Not typically Asian. The sushi platter was tasty, but not particularly anything else. I would no longer recommend the shop as a super restaurant. Unfortunately. Maybe things will get better again.

My partner and I had a spontaneous meal at SHIKI last night. To say it straight away: It was the best restaurant visit we've had in a long time... we're absolutely thrilled!!! From the service, to the food/drinks, to the ambience, it was simply perfect for us. The waitress who was “responsible” for us was super friendly and accommodating. You could really tell that she enjoys her job. The food was simply great! As starters we had miso soup and tom yam gung soup. Both were simply great. For the main course we chose the Bento Supreme sushi platter for 2 people. The waitress then asked us if we had any allergies or food intolerances that the chefs had to take into account. And what can I say? The record looked bombastic! For both of us it was by far the best sushi and sashimi we have ever eaten! We may be mistaken, but we had the feeling that the wasabi was homemade. The ginger was also pickled/marinated in something because it looked a little pink and was milder...just great! For dessert we both decided on the crème brûlee with lime and lemongrass flavor. This was also very tasty. To drink we both had the “Chiller Instinct” cocktail. One of the best cocktails I've ever had. I then had a very mundane cola. The ambience is also just great. The thing with the completely open kitchen is especially great. When it comes to the price, I have to say that it is not cheap, but it is inexpensive. Because for us everything was worth the price, so appropriate and fair! The two of us had a bill of €140.20. My partner describes this restaurant, which is stunning in its entirety, as an absolute “thigh spreader” in a positive sense. And I agree with him 100 percent. If you want to have a special evening, then go to SHIKI! You are absolutely sure of our next visit!!! Keep it up and thank you for the great evening.

We recently visited the Shiki restaurant in Dresden – and it was a real gastronomic experience. The first thing that impressed us was the service, especially from the waitress Amélie. She greeted us with a smile, was very friendly, accompanied us to our table and set the cutlery with great care. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming from the start. Amélie didn't just care about the service - she really made us feel comfortable. She recommended dishes that were not only exceptional but also incredibly delicious. The service was of the highest standard – attentive, unobtrusive and warm. As for the food – it was simply outstanding. We ordered 10 oysters, and each one was perfectly opened, fresh and served in style. The salmon tartare was tender, delicately seasoned and the sesame oil gave it a special touch. Every dish was thought out down to the smallest detail – both in terms of taste and presentation. Our impression of the evening was simply unforgettable. It was one of those evenings where everything was perfect: atmosphere, service, cuisine and mood. We already recommend this restaurant to our friends and will definitely come back. We ordered the first menu. The food was small (only 1 dish with 1 variety of sushi), tasteless or very salty (it was different), the soy sauce was very salty and it wasn't worth the €33 they asked us for just this menu.

We were there recently, and it was a lovely experience. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. You could see how sushi is made live, which I really enjoyed. I can also recommend the cocktails. The interior is very cozy, and you immediately feel at home. However, I found it a bit cramped, as the restaurant was very busy, so be sure to make a reservation in advance! The prices were a bit high; from experience, I know you can get similarly good sushi in the Neustadt district for less money. Still, it was a great and successful evening.

The food was truly awful. Aside from the fact that every single dish was either meatless or fishy, ​​it simply wasn't worth the price. The service was excellent, but the atmosphere was far too hectic, even though the chairs were very comfortable. I wouldn't recommend it.

After we were in this restaurant for the first time shortly after the restaurant opened, we visited the restaurant for the second time yesterday, Saturday. After our first visit we had positive memories of the restaurant, whereas yesterday's visit was a complete disappointment. We were the first guests to enter the restaurant when it opened at 11:30 a.m. and were rudely asked about the number of guests by an employee at the door. My wife and I were then directed to the front of the restaurant with just a wave of her arm by the smaller of the two employees. When we wanted to sit down at a table for four in the otherwise empty restaurant because of the extremely small tables for two and by the window, the rude waitress immediately came over and provocatively asked again how many guests we really were. Since there were only two of us, we would have to make do with a table for two. Point! Actually, we should have left here already. So we moved because we assumed that a tour group would soon come along and fill the tables of four (which, as it turned out later, didn't come). When taking the order, when I lifted the menu card - due to the limited space on the table for two - unfortunately the cutlery items underneath the menu card fell to the floor and right in front of the employee's feet. The employee's reaction to my apology was simply a demonstrative roll of her eyes and crossed arms. The waitress didn't make the slightest attempt to pick up the cutlery. So, with another apology, I picked up the cutlery that was in front of her, which the waitress then took away without comment. However, I was wrong when I expected the waitress to bring me new cutlery. She didn't bring any new cutlery, either immediately afterwards or with the meal. I then inevitably had to take the cutlery from the neighboring table. The food, which came after an ordering time of no less than 40 minutes (!!!), was carelessly placed on the table after we had to make space on the small table ourselves by stacking the menu cards, bowls, napkins and other containers around the edges. “Enjoy your meal,” the waitress mumbled emotionlessly and was just audible as she walked away, when she had already turned her head away from us. The guests at the neighboring table later also had their food placed on the table just as emotionlessly. With regard to the long ordering time, we had the impression that the kitchen had yet to start operating and that they were not yet prepared for guests to order. Unfortunately, my significantly overpriced chicken meat was also dry and tough. Both portions, my wife's and mine, weren't exactly plentiful. At least we will be full immediately afterwards. Conclusion: You can't do your job more lovingly. Here it was shown to the guests that guests are seen as a nuisance and the guests whose wishes apparently only disturb the chatting and fooling around between the two employees, because this unfriendly smaller of the two employees was having a lot of fun with her colleague on the other side of the restaurant. Unfortunately, not the guests who were offered the whole thing for 65 euros. You can't really express more contempt for the paying guests. If you want to ruin a restaurant's reputation, do just that! Luckily in Dresden you have enough choice and you don't have to accept such behavior. We will not be visiting this restaurant again and we cannot recommend it in good conscience!

We were there in the late afternoon, so there wasn't much going on. The waitresses and the waiter seemed annoyed. We received the wrong order and therefore had to wait longer for the correct dish. Which meant we couldn't eat together. There was no apology or anything like that - a shame. The food was okay, but the prices are... not justified. We were neither asked if the food was tasty nor did we feel welcome. We won't be coming back. The service and food do not match the upscale atmosphere. We were disappointed and left with a bad feeling.

Service was very friendly and always attentive, with a great view of the Zwinger by Night on the upper floor. I can only warmly recommend it. Everything was super tasty. We were here in a small group on Saturday evening. The miso soup, the sushi platter for two people, the gyoza, the Japanese fried rice, duck teriyaki, etc. are of very high quality but also very expensive! You have to think carefully about this with your precious money. Service was super nice and very quick. It can get a bit loud there.

Shiki – A disgrace of a restaurant! What's happening here isn't just bad service - it's an insult to every guest willing to spend their hard-earned money. Our visit was an absolute disaster from start to finish. The waiter? Impudent and arrogant. When he came to our table, we weren't ready to order drinks yet - he then made an annoyed face, as if he had better things to do than serve guests. Thereafter? Absolute ignorance! He never came back to ask about our drink requests. Our glasses remained empty and his disinterest was almost demonstrative. The food? A joke! The prices are a complete disgrace for what is served here. You can get the same dishes for a fraction of the price at an average restaurant. But here you don't pay for quality, but rather for the feeling of being cheated. And as if that wasn't enough, our food arrived last - even though we ordered much earlier than other guests. Apparently there are no rules in this chaos shop. And then the cherry on top: the sushi rolls were so poorly made that they fell apart at the first bite. A pitiful sight. Eating sushi with a spoon – in a supposedly upscale Japanese restaurant? Ridiculous! As if that wasn't enough, the waiters right next to us were loudly polishing cutlery and clattering knives so that we couldn't even understand each other. A feeling of hospitality? None! The waiter treated us with open indifference, almost contempt. No smile, no effort, just disinterest. So if you have too much money and would like to be treated like scum, you should definitely go to Shiki. Everyone else: avoid this place at all costs! Chaos, arrogance and mediocre food packed into a hollow show. Embarrassing, shameful and absolutely not recommended!

We came without a reservation, but the friendly lady at reception quickly found a solution for us. The atmosphere and service were first class – simply at the highest level! The tea was exceptionally aromatic and unique. I ordered a salad with duck breast - fresh, with fruity notes, and the meat was crispy and delicious. I also tried the duck breast with noodles that my friend ordered. The texture of the meat was wonderfully tender, with a slight hint of smoke - it literally melted in your mouth. A great culinary experience – highly recommended!

I was there for the first time the day before New Year's Eve. So delicious. Totally attentive and lovely service. From the appetizer to the cocktail - everything was really good. Despite the full house, it was still a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend the French toast as an appetizer. Be sure to reserve a table on the weekends!

We had a really nice evening at Shiki in Dresden! The food was simply great – from fresh oysters to delicious appetizers to the perfectly fried filet mignon. The sushi rolls were also great and beautifully prepared. There was also plenty of champagne, which made the evening even more special. Great food, good atmosphere - we'll definitely be back!

Very, very friendly staff and the food was great.

Unfortunately I can't rate the food at all because we left. In front of the restaurant there was a large display with offers and low prices without restrictions. When we went inside to look for these deals on the menu, the waitress informed us that they were only valid Monday through Friday, but it was Saturday. We are of course aware of this regulation and it is completely fine, but it was not to be found at the exhibitor. When I pointed it out to her, she claimed it was there. When I showed her that it wasn't true, she said that it had been washed off by yesterday's rain (it hadn't rained). That was too cheeky.

The rooms were a bit too dark for me but otherwise it was really worth the visit. We had really quick and very friendly service and the food was really worth the money. A fresh food and special creation, simply wonderful. I had such a delicious non-alcoholic cocktail that I will visit this restaurant again in the coming days for that reason alone.

Mega leckeres Essen, nicht ganz so preiswert. Aber man darf sich ja auch mal was gönnen und hier macht das auch Spaß, da es sehr abwechslungsreiche Speisen gibt. Egal ob man Sushi mag oder nicht - es gibt auch sehr leckere Alternativen. Die Weine haben uns nicht so überzeugt, aber das ist ja bekanntlich Geschmackssache.
