Sehr lecker, sehr freundlicher Service!

Wir waren heute dort essen! Die Leute dort sind mega freundlich. Und das Essen sehr zu empfehlen. Butter Chicken und Chicken Tika Marsala sind der Hammer.

Das Restaurant war sauber, ordentlich, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und präsentierte sich insgesamt sehr gut. Angesichts des Preises hatte ich jedoch Zweifel, ob der Geschmack dem Preis entsprach. Insbesondere das bestellte Biryani schien nicht so geschmacksintensiv zu sein, wie man es für diesen Preis erwarten würde. Obwohl Service und Präsentation gut waren, könnte der Geschmack des Essens noch verbessert werden. Insgesamt war der Besuch aber in Ordnung.

Das Essen war fantastisch, besonders das Knoblauch-Naan und das Pilz-Kokos-Curry (beides vegan!). Absolut empfehlenswert. Der Service war der beste, den ich in Hamburg erlebt habe, die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich.

Waren zu Mittag dort, und wurden gleich herzlich begrüßt. Danach wurden wir gleich über das Mittagsmenü informiert. Wir haben unterschiedliche Gerichte gegessen, am Bild zu sehen ist das Chicken Curry als Mittagsmenü. Es war alles sehr lecker und das Personal war sehr freundlich. Vielen lieben Dank!

Sehr nette und aufmerksame Bedienung. Essen schmeckt sehr gut. Wir wurden auch gut beraten. Keine Kartenzahlung möglich. Dafür unkompliziert per Paypal.

War heute bereits zum 3. Mal dort. Komme immer hier her, wenn ich in Hamburg Nähe Reeperbahn bin. Wunderbare Auswahl. Frisch. Schnell. Lecker. Hatte wie immer das vegane Kokos Curry und ein Naan-Brot mit Knoblauch. Empfehlung.

Sehr lecker, sehr angenehm, sehr gut. Ich war spontan hier. Das Lamm war wunderbar zart und alles fein aromatisch. Die Atmosphäre ist schlicht, kein aufdringlichen Gedudel. Eine zurückhaltende Ruhe in diesem kleinen unscheinbaren Restaurant. Hat mir sehr gut getan. Das Bild zeigt nicht, wie gut der Teller vorher ausgesehen hat (hat er), sondern wir er aussah als ich fertig war. Das sagt mehr ;-)

Ein kleines Lokal in unmittelbarer Nähe der Reeperbahn. Super leckeres Essen und toller Service. Es gibt zwar nicht viele Sitzplätze, aber es wird alles möglich gemacht, damit alle Platz finden :)

Ich habe mit meinen Freunden vor dem Musical hier gegessen. Es hat sehr gut geschmeckt und gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

Waited 1:30 hours instead of 30 minutes. The food wasn't packaged properly, and the bag had a hole in it. The whole thing was now covered in sauce. I've never eaten such bad naan. A sheet of paper would have tasted better.

A truly lovely restaurant steeped in tradition. I highly recommend the chicken chili with a mango lassi. You have to love the mango chicken because it's very sweet.

I went there for lunch on the recommendation of a work colleague. It was really delicious, the service was friendly, and the food was served very quickly. The €9.90 lunch menu is really fair. I'll be trying it more often now.

Very friendly staff served us. There was also a large selection of vegan dishes. I had a very good curry with chicken and, according to my companion, the vegan curries were also highly recommended. The toilet is new and very clean. Small, fine restaurant, you should definitely try it out.

Cozy although small. Food freshly made and tasteful.

According to the house, 7 pieces of chicken are added to the meal in a curry. The size of the pieces is a maximum of a 2 euro piece and offering it on Uber Eats for 18.90 is sad for the customer. Not bad in terms of taste but definitely not worth the price.

We stopped by this little restaurant for lunch today and we didn't regret it! We received a very friendly welcome and then enjoyed butter chicken and the vegetarian lunch special (€9.90) with basmati rice and plenty of vegetables in a delicious sauce. Both were truly delicious! The poppadum was also excellent. We would love to eat there more often. The ambiance is also quite nice and pleasant for such a small restaurant.

I have a clear recommendation. There were 5 of us eating there and luckily we got a table. There were 11 other people there besides us, which made the restaurant full. The service was super friendly and we all really enjoyed the food. It was a bit irritating that there were no cards, but the dishes were on boards on the wall and in front of the counter. The curries were unusually runny for us, but that didn't take away from the delicious taste.

I lived in England for 10 years and if there's one thing you should know about England, we have a very large selection of Indian cuisine. No matter whether as a fine fine dining experience or as a takeout. The food cooked at Shikara blows me away every time (lamb/chicken biryani - 10/10). For the price there really isn't anything better. Go there if you're in the mood for great and authentic Indian food, you won't regret it :)

We discovered this gem of Indian cuisine just a few minutes' walk from the Reeperbahn. A very small guest room, but attractively furnished. In addition, a very clean toilet, which is anything but a given these days. The service was very friendly and the food was very tasty. We can particularly recommend the dishes with homemade cheese. Top price/performance. We'll be back.

The food was excellent, I have never tasted such delicious butter chicken. We were served quickly and friendly. As the only guests, we were able to find a cozy corner in the small restaurant in the early evening. All around a great experience and a clear recommendation for Indian cuisine.

There were two of us there and we ate two main courses. We really enjoyed the food and highly recommend it. The ambience is, well, the service a bit confusing. It was unclear whether we would be served or have to go to the counter ourselves. Also, the gentleman behind the counter kept turning up his nose and that was really disgusting. We were the only guests. While he turned up his nose, he watched loud cell phone videos. So the ambience is rather bland but the food is great. Therefore 4 stars - There would have been 5 for the food.

Very nice little restaurant. You will be warmly welcomed and served directly. The food is simply delicious 😋. Unfortunately, it was so delicious that I forgot to take a photo beforehand. (I had Saag Chicken with curry, spinach and basmati rice 😉) If you like Indian cuisine, you will find it here. It is simply recommended. 👍👍👍👍

As an Indian, I can vouch that the food is bland. Don't ever order chicken madras curry - big disappointment. The bhatura was also a joke, as they didn't serve it freshly fried. It was stale and was just quickly toasted for us in the pan. Samosas were okay, still microwaved though. I mean no disrespect but I especially didn't like the attitude of the middle aged lady there (owner I guess). Must avoid.

Already a few months ago. On the way to the concert at Grosse Freiheit, I went to the small, pretty shop on Taubenstrasse for a curry. I had a very positive experience at the Skikara in Ottensen (not far from the factory). The Pauli Shikara has a smaller selection of dishes, but it's also very tasty. The young, attentive, very charming young woman in service enriched my stay. Thank you, and always with pleasure.

Naan is not naan but like a flatbread. Unfortunately, the food is also average, you can find better Indian cuisine for the same prices everywhere.

Good Indian snack bar within walking distance of the Reeperbahn run by a really nice family. The food is delicious and well seasoned. Overall, the entire atmosphere is welcoming, modern and clean. We will be back.

Tasty! A large selection for everyone! Vegan, vegetarian, meat... A small Indian restaurant with cute decor. Very bright and friendly, but also very small and for a few people. Bhatura very small, more like a naan. The dishes are large portions and more than filling thanks to the curry rice. Vegetables fresh, crunchy and delicious. A very nice, cozy corner between the Reeperbahn and the Operettenhaus.

Discovered by chance and was pleasantly surprised by this small, cozy restaurant. Service was very nice and everyone enjoyed the food. Unfortunately no Indian beer, even though it was advertised and no card payment possible!!! Had to “throw together” all of our cash reserves to pay :(

It's just the best experience, health wonderful atmosphere the bets you can get. And you feel love in the place !!!

I can't say it any other way: In all the points mentioned, this restaurant is simply perfect for my family and me. We have eaten at Shikara Quick many times - we usually order the absolutely delicious lamb dishes. We also found the mango lassi particularly tasty. A big recommendation from us! This cute restaurant is definitely worth a visit, the very friendly service also creates a lovely atmosphere.

Wir waren mit einer Gruppe von sechs Personen in Hamburg unterwegs und auf der Suche nach dem Restaurant für unser Abendessen sind wir im Shikara gelandet. Der Service war sehr gut, ich bewundere es immer wenn jemand sich diverse Getränke und Essensbestellungen merken kann ohne etwas aufzuschreiben, das Telefon zu bedienen und die Bestellungen dann auch noch den richtigen Personen zuzuordnen. Die Vorspeise war schon unglaublich lecker und mein Mango Chicken war ebenfalls sehr gut. Meinem persönlichen Wunsch nach Schärfe wurde auch problemlos nachgekommen. Der Mango Lassi den ich zum Essen bestellt hatte war grandios und wir waren einfach rundum zufrieden. Wir haben in sehr gemütlicher ruhiger Atmosphäre ein grandioses Abendessen verspeisen dürfen. Ich würde auf jedenfall wiederkommen wenn ich mal wieder in Hamburg bin!

Butter Chicken is a must try 🔥 Naan & Palak Paneer are great in taste and quality. I did customize my order and they happily did it with the same price.

Ich war heute zum zweiten Mal zum Mittagstisch hier und kann es wirklich nur sehr empfehlen! Es ist sehr gemütlich hier und es gibt eine große Auswahl auch an vegetarischen und veganen Gerichten. Das Essen ist schön angerichtet und schmeckt sehr gut. Die Mitarbeiter waren beide Male super aufmerksam und freundlich :)

Toller Laden, Gutes essen und mega freundliche Mitarbeiter seit Jahren ist Shikara mein Lieblingsinder. Die Bedienung ist mega freundlich und der Service ist perfekt! Es gibt sogar draußen Sitzmöglichkeiten, ingesamt ein wirklich gelungener Laden. Am liebsten esse ich das Butter Chicken oder das Vegetarische Korma. Es schmeckt immer Frisch und lecker!

Kleines niedliches Lokal mit super freundlichem Personal. Es hat zwar nicht so viele Sitzplätze, aber dafür ist es sehr gemütlich. Auch das essen war ausgezeichnet und wir mussten nicht lange warten. Leider war das bhatura Brot nicht so aufgepufft wie wir es sonst kennen. Geschmeckt hat es dennoch. Weiterer Pluspunkt, es gibt auch vegane Speisen:) sehr empfehlenswert!

Diese kleine Ladenperle etwas abseits vom Kiez hat uns vollstens überzeugt. Die Speisen sind authentisch, optisch sehr ansprechend angerichtet und schmackhaft. Der Service war sehr umsichtig und äußerst nett. Einziger kleiner, aber zu verschmerzender Minuspunkt: Der Lassi ist vermutlich nicht selbstgemacht, zumindest schmeckt er eher nach Massenware (zu süß und aromatisch). Wir kommen trotzdem bei einem erneuten Hamburgbesuch gern wieder.
