Shekamu in Nürnberg

I've been there a few times now with friends. The food is delicious, whether it's salad, vegetarian, or meat. We always like to share what the food is best suited to. We've rarely experienced such friendly staff. I highly recommend it.

Oriental lovers will find a great selection of dishes here, but the taste is where it ends. Several of us went to Shekamu to try Persian food. I liked the vegetarian and vegan options. We ordered drinks and food, although it should be noted that the prices are quite steep. We waited almost an hour and a half for our food, which is the first criticism. As an apology, they offered two small baskets of bread, mint, and onions. While it was a nice gesture, the bread was already cold/warm and a bit small for 8 people. 6 slices for 8 people isn't even one slice per person. When the main courses finally arrived, the disappointment continued. It was quite greasy and oily, and the meat in the meat dishes was very tough. The salad we ordered was awful. The dressing was sweet but also sour; it really wasn't tasty. In total, we paid €230, and for that price, I unfortunately cannot recommend it at all.

From Vienna to Berlin, this is by far the best Persian restaurant in my opinion—every dish is absolutely delicious. We'll be back soon ❤️

We ate here yesterday and were not disappointed. It has a homey feel, the food is very authentic, Persian portions are generous ;-), the owner is absolutely lovely, and the atmosphere is fantastic overall. Even for those unfamiliar with Persian cuisine, this is a great place to eat. See you soon!

I'm very disappointed! I've been wanting to go here for a while, and my girlfriend called the evening before and made a reservation for two at 5 p.m. We arrived on time and were excited. Unfortunately, everything seemed very disorganized, and the employee spent ages looking for the name we had reserved after we arrived (the restaurant isn't that big, and it had been reserved less than 24 hours in advance...). Then we were told to sit outside (it had been raining and it was 15 degrees Celsius). When we asked if we could sit inside, we were told: inside is only for reserved seats?! We said again that we had a reservation, and three employees consulted with each other, looking annoyed. Then we were told that we had a reservation outside, which wasn't true! Nobody on the phone had said that the only places available were outside. Additionally, there were only about four guests there at that time, which was strange that everything was fully booked... Mistakes can happen, but they didn't apologize once, and they tried to shift the blame onto us! We felt completely unwelcome! A very negative experience, which is why we won't be visiting the restaurant and have gone to another one...

We visited Shekamu for the first time today and certainly lived up to the restaurant's name: Shekamu means "greedy" - a very likeable restaurant name that sums it up perfectly. We ate our way through the menu; the descriptions were simply too tempting. And that's exactly how the food tasted: simply fantastically delicious, yet something completely unique. A magic of savory, sometimes slightly spicy, and sweet, as well as oriental flavors. Thank you so much for this enrichment 💖 The lady who served us spoke perfect German and explained the dishes of her homeland very pleasantly. The rest of the team was also young, spoke excellent German, and was very pleasant. The ambiance in the restaurant was cozy and modern at the same time, as was the music. The clientele was very diverse - from Arab (Turkish?) families to Germans, from young to old. We felt very comfortable.

10/10, an absolute experience. All your worries are forgotten, as if you were on vacation. The staff is friendly, courteous, and hospitable. The food is a culinary journey like no other. Definitely not my last time here. 👌

The food was really good,,we were with an international friend and even she liked it... for 3-4 people the option of (2 portion which has 2 koubide,1 barg, 1 chicken kebab) is so good. I suggest do not order Dough as it is fizzy and u will have a stomachache... for service they were so good friendly handy,,, restroom was clean so clean which is a good point... only for tips... i think they shouldn't mention it at the end 🙈as it is not ok but as they were all good 😊 I liked it... yummy food 🥙 *** please add more desserts (iranian cakes or Halva, ferni,...) i did not want ice ream or Faloude with tea ☕️

Highly recommend! 🥰🤤 I‘m organising dinners for bigger groups in different restaurants each time and Shekamu definitely stands out with both food and services! We have been 13 people and service handled everything exceptionally. No issues with taking orders despite guests arriving at different times, they even remembered who ordered what. Food came almost all at the same time and was delicious, compliments to the chef! Staff was friendly, professional and curtious, checked frequently on us and made sure everyone is happy. Even paying the bill was handled without issues, which is usually a big mess since everyone is paying separately! So far the best experience we had with restaurants in Nuremberg! BIG thank you to the entire Shekamu team for the lovely evening 🫶

What delicious food! Great service and a lovely atmosphere!

Five of us went to dinner at Shekamu Restaurant and, of course, had made a reservation the day before, as is proper! The waitress was very nice and friendly, explained many things to us on the menu, and remained very calm and relaxed when it came to subsequent changes...unfortunately, I've known it differently. For our starter, we chose tahbandi, everything was delicious, especially sambusa!!! Definitely try it; you can also order just the sambusa separately. For our main course, we ordered several skewers and shared them between the five of us. We ordered rice with tahdig, which was a dream. It was beautifully served, with all the skewers on one plate and very appetizingly presented. For dessert, we had a mix of ice cream, faloude, and lava cake, beautifully presented and delicious. Afterward, I personally rolled home 😋 See for yourself: the atmosphere was pleasant, the waiters were friendly, and the food...your stomach will thank you for such a delicious experience 🤤

This is my second review for this place. The visit has taken place on July 2025. Kashke Bademjan as the starter tasted awesome, BUT was a little cold inside although its dish/container was extremely hot. So I assume it needed a longer time for getting warmed up? Ghormesabzi was tasty for my hubby, but not me. But that is totally fine, cause it is just the matter of tastes… Zeytoon Parvardeh was literally FANTASTIC with a sweet sour taste! Kabab Koobide was good, but not the best. The last time I visited this place, koobideh was a lot better. This time, I found it a bit uncooked, and also a bit dry texture but it was overall good and I will order it again and again:)) There was no Somagh at our table and I personally picked it up from the table next to us. The rice and tahdig, I believe are the STAR of this restaurant, a must-try, a perfection✨! The staff are always kind and caring but they seem always a bit stressed. They talk to each other a bit loud and stressful. It is a bit annoying for people who sit inside and understand their language. I recommend this place and will visit here again. 👍🏻

We've eaten there several times and were there last weekend. We were sadly disappointed. The waiter, Iman, had absolutely no patience when taking a card payment. The slightly overweight lady at the bar was extremely unfriendly and responded aggressively. It's a shame, you've disappointed loyal customers. From now on, we'll only eat Persian food at Safran...

Amazing food, nice atmosphere, fast service, huge menu, and they have air conditioning indoors! Tried the following: Cheeto Cheese Balls - too spicy and nothing special Djudge Soltani - both the lamb and the chicken skewer were moist and tasty. The rice cake was delicious. Mast O Khiar - yogurt with cucumber and mint. Very good and refreshing. Other than the Cheetos balls everything was excellent and I highly recommend coming here.

The first and last time! But only because we don't live nearby. The food is special and delicious. The service is very friendly, and the ambiance fits the Persian theme perfectly. Special praise goes to the hygiene products in the restroom and the staff for their excellent knowledge of the menu.

The food was delicious and authentic. Every bite was a delight! I also particularly like the staff, who were extremely friendly and accommodating. You immediately felt welcome. Another huge plus, especially on a hot day (35 degrees Celsius), was the functioning air conditioning. This isn't something you can take for granted in Germany and made the stay very pleasant. And to top it all off, I highly recommend the saffron tea – it was simply wonderful. Overall, a fantastic experience. I'd love to come back!

I can't understand the positive reviews! The rice smelled bad. the juje fillet supposed to be marinated with Safran and lemon but it had a lot of spice which haven't been mentioned in the Menu! I won't eat there again👎🏻

The food is an absolute dream, no matter what you order, it's an absolute work of art! Every drink tastes amazing and is absolutely creative! Delicious food and the staff is super, super friendly! And you can eat gluten-free here. I have celiac disease and react even to minor contamination, but I had no complaints after my visit. The kitchen takes great care to ensure there's no contamination. Important: mention that you have celiac disease when ordering. :)

Bei Shekamu ist es immer wundervoll! Sowohl von der Leichtigkeit, wie man reserviert über die herzliche Begrüßung, dann zu den leckeren und großzügigen Gerichten bis zum warmen „auf Wiedersehen“! Alles ist immer ein Traum! Sehr eingespieltes und aufmerksames Team und super sauber vor Ort. Einer meiner Lieblingsrestaurants in Nürnberg. Vom Publikum findet man auch von klein bis groß alle. Man fühlt sich vor Ort sehr wohl und gut aufgehoben.

So overall we were satisfied, the service was great and very friendly, we also gave us an honest recommendation, overall everything was clean, as was the toilet (with great hygiene/care products, especially for women) I think it's a great idea! The only point where I was a bit disappointed was that my portion was quite small (I had ghorme sabzi once) and unfortunately I was still a bit hungry afterwards. In this case, it's not enough without a starter. Otherwise the restaurant is recommended.

Dear rude restaurant owner, Let’s get a few things straight: If your restaurant was “completely booked,” why did your employee even let us in and sit us at the table? It seems as if internal communication and respect within the team are also a foreign concept for you. And it's extremely rude - really, absolutely rude - to just throw guests out after 10-15 minutes! How can one have so little sense of politeness and decency as to not understand this? Second, just because you're fully booked doesn't mean you should treat customers disrespectfully. The way the owner snatched the menus out of our hands and refused to listen was simply inappropriate. You serve kabab, not doctor's office services! So please stop with this “You have to make a reservation!” number. There are plenty of restaurants that can do this without being so arrogant. And yes, it was our first visit – and definitely the last. The atmosphere was really unpleasant. Ironically, I had to convince my friend to even give your food a chance, even though your restaurant looked anything but inviting from the outside. Even your logo light was broken 😂. As an Iranian, I was really disappointed at what a catastrophe of cultural representation your restaurant was! Now I finally know why no one ever recommended we eat at your place. You've accomplished nothing more than showing us how rude and unprofessional you are. I'm not surprised that you were the only Persian restaurant we haven't tried yet - and after this experience, I now know why. With no regards

We were satisfied. The food was okay. Without knowing what Persian food tastes like, we found a lot of it to be very sour. Nevertheless, you can tell that quality ingredients are used. What was a bit negative, we once had water with a straw (glass), unfortunately it wasn't completely clean, so I didn't drink from it. The service was ok, I think the lady was new, which can be forgiven. Conclusion: it was ok, we don't know if we would come again.

In addition, the service wasn't really good... for example, our used cutlery was returned after the starter had been cleared away because we needed it for the main course. Last night we tried the Shekamu. This offers Persian cuisine. Based on a tip in advance, we made a reservation, which is particularly advisable on the weekend. The restaurant is quite small, yesterday there were 10 tables and was completely booked. Unfortunately, several spontaneous visitors had to be turned away. Pick-ups to go also went well, by the way. So, to the essentials, the food and ambience. We were greeted very friendly by the boss and shown to the table. This was beautifully decorated, with a dark candle, a cutlery bag and gold cutlery - nice to look at. What struck me very positively about the drinks menu was that there are not the usual drinks from the Coca Cola universe, but rather selected drinks such as homemade lemonades, lemonades from Iran (great varieties such as malt pineapple or malt coffee), but also various ones Cocktails, infused water and elephant iced tea. As an aperitif there were 2 different gin and tonics and then a pineapple lemonade and a homemade blueberry lemonade with ginger - very nice! The menu reads amazingly and we would have loved to try everything. We decided on 3 starters. These come in small bowls with bread and are therefore ideal for sharing with each other. Specifically there were: - Kashke Bademjan (grilled, chopped eggplant with garlic, mint, fried onions and a kashk sauce, served with bread) - Sir Torshi (homemade garlic pickled in white wine vinegar; similar to mixed pickles) - Zeytun Parvarde (green olives marinated in a Persian marinade made from ground walnuts, pomegranate pulp, garlic & herbs) The starters were a real taste explosion. The mix of spicy, sweet and sour, especially with the olives, is simply brilliant and we enjoyed every bite. After a reasonable wait, our two main courses arrived: I was able to enjoy Djudje Masti (pieces of chicken fillet marinated in a yogurt and mayonnaise marinade); There was also basmati rice with saffron and grilled vegetables. My companion chose Soltani and was happy about a grilled skewer of minced lamb and rack of lamb, as well as rice and grilled vegetables. Because we were curious, we ordered the tahdig option that was offered with the rice. The waitress explained to us that the rice is deliberately allowed to settle on the bottom of the pot, which forms a crispy layer. This rice cake was placed on the basmati rice along with pomegranate seeds and was super delicious. When it comes to the main courses, I would particularly like to highlight the meat, which was really INCREDIBLY juicy. The marinades were very harmonious, well seasoned and there was also the spice sumac and vinegar berries on the table, which gave the meat a special flavor. Both dishes were very plentiful and unfortunately we had to leave some of the rice behind because otherwise we would have burst. 🙂 After a while we wanted to try the desserts again and could hardly decide. It was then the Black Sonati Sandwich, 2 ice cream sandwiches in a black waffle on a pistachio cream with rose petals and pistachio chips. Without words and SOOO unbelievably good! There was also a double espresso and a Dalgona. I particularly liked the unobtrusive but at the same time present manner of the waitresses, especially the boss. She was super friendly and was happy to advise us on our choice of food.
