Best Iranian restaurant in the town, a must try

We stopped here on the way back to our hotel with our baby asleep and asked for some food to go. They prepared it really quickly, and the owner took the time to chat with us—he honestly made us feel at home and even made me forget how tired I was. Such a kind gesture that really brightened up our evening. The food was absolutely delicious, generous portions, and even the salad was amazing. A wonderful surprise and highly recommended!

The Kubideh kebab was good. However, the Joojeh kebab had small skewers and the portion of rice was small. The proportion of meat and rice was small compared to the price. The prices for the dishes were quite high, especially considering that in other Iranian restaurants—at least in Berlin—kebabs are always served with herbs or salad, which wasn't the case here. The appetizer platter here consisted of only three types of yogurt and pickled vegetables, while a starter should have been more varied, with, for example, Keshk-e-Bademjan, Mirza Ghasemi, or hummus. The restaurant owner came to our table while we were eating and praised his own food at great length. This bothered us. However, we would have preferred to eat in peace so the food wouldn't get cold. Besides, I think the guests should be the ones praising the food—not the chef or the restaurant owner themselves.

5 star if service, as the waitress was so cool and friendly and also the owner was so nice to come and welcome us in person and talked to us,,, the food was 3, as for Bakhtiari Kebab, we expected more beef ...it was more chicken... for ghormeSabzi stew, it was good but it could be better... and also we missed Tah-Dig... which is a MUST😁 Dough and olives were good

The best Iranian restaurant in Bavaria that I went to was the Saffron Restaurant, with incredibly delicious food and a very friendly and warm atmosphere. After a few years, I really thought I was in Iran. I would like to thank everyone who works at this restaurant and thank you.

Disappointing experience – once and never again There were six of us and we wanted to try Persian cuisine at the Safaran Restaurant. The service was friendly, but that was unfortunately the only positive aspect of our visit. The food was served lukewarm to cold – the meat in particular was well below room temperature. The appetizer consisted only of yogurt with garlic and bread that appeared to have come from an Arab supermarket and arrived straight from the plastic bag – not even fresh or warmed up. What was particularly irritating was that even the butter served on the rice didn't melt – a clear sign that the food was too cold. Overall, the quality, freshness, and care in the preparation were lacking. Unfortunately, this was our first and last visit to this restaurant.

We were a small international group there, and the owner sat on the next table with a couple of friends of his, discussing and arguing very loudly about politics. We got our meals more than 30 minutes after our order. The owner came to our table and stood there for a long time, trying to welcome us, but it turned to asking personal questions and giving us history and political lectures. Although the food was good, the experience was awful, and the price was very high compared to similar restaurants, 38€ per person.

An absolute disaster – never again! Anyone who thinks they'll receive a friendly welcome here will quickly be disappointed. The manager laughs the whole time – but her smile is so fake, fake, and condescending that it's downright uncomfortable. Politeness doesn't mean putting on a fake grin while treating customers with subtle arrogance. The fact that card payments aren't accepted in this store is just another sign of complete backwardness and a lack of professionalism. Still accepting cash payments in 2025 isn't charming, but embarrassing and customer-unfriendly. And then there's the issue of cleanliness: dust, cobwebs, a generally dingy impression – there's no question of hygiene here. The products also seem anything but fresh. Anyone who claims that fresh produce is purchased daily is probably trying to deceive rather than convince. For the prices charged here, the whole thing is a bad joke. Conclusion: If you value quality, cleanliness, genuine service, and modern standards, you should steer clear of this store.

I was absolutely thrilled with my visit to this restaurant. You receive a warm welcome as soon as you enter – the service was consistently friendly, attentive, and professional. The food was simply outstanding: The meat was super tender and grilled to perfection, the side dishes fresh and very aromatic. I particularly want to highlight the rice with saffron and barberries, which not only looked fantastic but also tasted amazing. The fresh salad with homemade dressing was also a real highlight. Another plus: The homemade drinks – a definite 10/10! Refreshing, perfectly matched, and definitely something special. In conclusion: If you're looking for good food, excellent service, and a pleasant atmosphere, this is the place for you. I'll definitely be back!

Very friendly staff, truly delicious Persian dishes, especially the wonderful chicken fillet (juje kebab, I've never experienced anything so delicious and juicy), live Persian music. If you visit Nuremberg, you have to try Safran.

There were five of us there. We ordered three different dishes: two kubideh, two makhsos, and one barg. The owner is very friendly and nice. He greets each customer personally. Just like you'd expect from Iran. The food was fantastic. I'm a kubideh eater. If someone can make kubideh, they can make anything. The meat was super juicy and delicious. I was incredibly hungry and didn't pay much attention to the photos. I ordered a dugh for drinks. Also super delicious. Thank you, thank you. Food: 5⭐️ Staff: 5⭐️ Value for money: 5⭐️

Safran Iranian Restaurant in Nuremberg Service for large groups was poor; there was a very long wait for the food to be ready. The space is small. The dining room is beautifully decorated with Iranian elements. The kebab kubideh was bitter. The sultan-style lamb had a tough texture. The sumac was inedible. The soup was good. The drinks were really cool and enjoyable.

I had a wonderful evening at the Safran restaurant. The ambiance is cozy and inviting. The food is not only fresh but also incredibly delicious. The service was attentive and very friendly, which made the experience perfect. I highly recommend this restaurant and am already looking forward to my next visit!

The best Iranian food in Germany

Food was very delicious with an Iranian taste. People were really hospitable and nice. The food reminds me the taste of childhood. The ice cream is what I strongly suggest to try.

The best Persian restaurant in Nürnberg

Unfortunately it was freezing cold in the restaurant the whole time. Apparently the heating stays off here even in February. All three of the dishes from the menu that we wanted to order were not available. Only the most expensive dishes on the menu were available. The service was friendly and quick, but the quality of the meat wasn't great, the Yufka bread was old and dry and I looked in vain for the saffron in the rice. The meat and rice were also a bit dry, with no sauce at all, although Persian cuisine is said to be famous for its sauces. For €80 for dinner for two people with only two drinks, I would have expected a lot more. Unfortunately I was very disappointed and will not visit Safran again.

Today I ordered food to pick up from Safran for the first time with friends. During our last visit there was a perfectly tender chicken skewer kebab (number 18), so we thought we would order it again. Since some of us were more hungry, we sometimes ordered 2 skewers instead of 1. After 45 minutes we were able to come and pick up the food. We were asked to pay 125 EURO on site. When I asked if the price was right, the owner said in an arrogant way, "It's not a standard skewer like in a Turkish restaurant, an extra skewer costs 15 euros." After a while (discussion), the owner started zipping things into his calculator. He then said in a cheeky way and knew that he would calculate the portion of rice and that would determine the price. According to my calculation it should look like this: 5x €16.90 (chicken kebab plate) = €84.50 2x €16.90 (chicken kebab plate) - €4.20 (saffron rice) = €25.40 Final price €109.90 As if it wasn't too much to ask for 15 euros per skewer, he also collected 15 euros more. Impudence! Ultimately, you should be careful because the owner is trying to rip off customers. Never again!!!

While it wasn’t unpleasant, the décor felt a bit old-fashioned and could use a refresh to create a better vibe. In Safran we experienced a little piece of Persia! We were amazed by the variety of flavors of the ingredients. The service was courteous and very warm, which rounded off the evening perfectly. We were particularly impressed by the grilled meat or the vegetarian option (dish no. 28). In addition, the rice is perfect in terms of consistency and the amount of saffron added. A clear recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy authentic Persian cuisine in a great ambience.

Wir waren mit zwei Familien im Restaurant Safran in Nürnberg essen und sind konzert und verärgert wieder gegangen. Vorab hatten wir angerufen, um eine Rezervung vorzunehmen, und eine freundliche Dame mit afghanischem Akzent versicherte uns, dass wir gerne kommen könnten. Because of the many positive reviews, we are several kilometers away - unfortunately, it is completely unnecessary. The evening began chaotically: After we had ordered, the lady returned and explained to us that the dishes (Nr. 15, 17 and 19) were not available. Wir wählten Alternativen, doch auch eine dieser Bestellungen war angeblich nicht möglich. Das war nicht nur ärgerlich, sondern zeigte auch mangelnde Organization und Vorbereitung. While wir noch überlegten, was wir stattdessen bestellen könnten, passierte das Fassbare: Am Nachbartisch discovered eine andere Gruppe in ihrem Essen einen Wurm. Sie dokumentierten dies mit einem Foto und zeigten es der Bedienung, die sich zwar entschuldigte, aber die Situation war für uns und offenbar auch für die anderen Gäste nicht akzeptabel. Die betrefene Gruppe verließ derafin das Restaurant – und wir ebenfalls. Nach dieser Erfahrung können wir dieses Restaurant niemundem empfehlen. The organization was schlecht, the availability of dishes was insufficient, and the hygiene conditions were open to serious questions. We went to Saffron restaurant in Nuremberg with two families and unfortunately we left with sadness and disappointment. Before we left, we called to reserve a table and a lady with an Afghan accent told us that we could come without a problem. We traveled several kilometers because of the very good and positive reviews about this restaurant - but in vain. The night started off messed up from the start: after ordering the food, the waitress came back and told us that some of the dishes we had chosen (numbers 15, 17 and 19) were not available. We had to choose food again, but again one of these orders was not available. This showed poor management and lack of preparation, and it made us very sad. Meanwhile, the guests at the next table received their food, but suddenly found a worm in their food. They took pictures of this scene and showed it to the waiter. The waitress apologized, but the situation was so unacceptable that they left the restaurant immediately. We also decided not to stay there anymore and left the restaurant. We do not recommend this restaurant at all. Poor management, lack of advertised menu items and serious health issues made for a very bad experience. This volume of positive comments is completely incomprehensible to us. Our experience was completely unpleasant and disappointing.

We came to Nuremberg from Hanover to visit the Christkindlesmarkt and because of the good reviews we ate at the Safran restaurant this evening. The owner is super nice and very hospitable, the atmosphere is cozy and familiar and the food is super delicious! If we are ever in Nuremberg again, we will definitely come here again. 😊

The food is outstanding and typically Persian. Was in Iran several times and can therefore judge it. Unfortunately, despite having a reservation, we didn't have a seat at a normal table, but had to eat at a low table.

Disgraceful and disappointing – never again! I reserved a table for dinner in this restaurant at lunchtime, which was confirmed to me by telephone. Shortly before we arrived I called again to ask if it was possible to pay by card. Then it suddenly became strange: the lady on the phone asked confused whether I had even made a reservation, and in the background I heard discussions that there was a reservation in my name. I was then hastily told to hurry up or come later, which is completely unprofessional. When we arrived at the restaurant, we made our orders. But then they suddenly said we couldn't order like that and that I should change the order to suit the restaurant! I made it clear several times that I wanted the order as I placed it. In the end I got my food as requested, but to my surprise a larger sum was added to the bill - without any explanation or apology. Instead of being forthcoming, I was cheekily told that I should reserve earlier next time - even though I was the one who had a confirmed reservation! A restaurant that treats its guests like this does not deserve further visits. We should have been told honestly from the start that there were difficulties instead of stressing about it. Very disappointing, I definitely won't be back!

Safran offers good food, but unfortunately the hospitality leaves something to be desired. Although the restaurant was empty on all three visits, we were not served without a reservation. The dishes are good, but the unfriendly attitude of the staff detracts from the overall experience.

In all restaurants and fast foods and in all stores and even disco bars. If your device has a problem, fix it. Don't make excuses. People are not your toys. You lied about the card reader and took our time. More disrespect than this. You have no respect for the customer. You always think about getting cash and you always tell everyone a lie about the card reader. I have not seen this problem in any Iranian restaurant except in your restaurant and for a few times. You gave me 30 grams of onions and you say that you didn't get the money for the extra items on the table, how expensive it really was. Don't be broken. You played with our time, nerves and spirit. You are lying again, you did not write anything about the bank card on the shop window. We even told you that we are shelters. I couldn't count with the Sparkasse bank card before, and your card reader didn't work. You made me get cash from the bank across the street.

The first and last time unfortunately! I'm sitting here right now. Not recommended at all!!! Gheima doesn't taste good at all, neither does qoorme sabzi. Plus it's soooo little for €14. A kebab for €7 is much more recommendable than safari!

Great place which serves authentic, homemade Persian cuisine in an elegantly furnished dining room, completed by a nice music playlist. Service is very good, the owners are lovely people who were very friendly to us. I really enjoyed eating here with my family, and will be bringing friends soon.
