Today I was at the Bernemer Kerb and sat down in a free seat at a beer table in front of the restaurant with my two-year-old daughter and my mother-in-law. I had a glass of wine from the wine stand next door and my daughter had fries. Anyone who knows the Bernemer Kerb knows that it is quite common to sit down at the tables of other restaurants with foreign food and drinks. After a few moments, a man (presumably the owner) came to our table and loudly insulted us that we weren't allowed to sit here. We immediately understood, tried to apologize, put my daughter back in the stroller, stood up, walked away from the tables, and made it clear that we respected that we weren't wanted. But while we were about to leave, the man came up behind us and insulted us with clear aggression in his voice and made threatening gestures as if he was about to get violent. I really respect that he doesn't want you to sit in front of his bar even at a festival like Bernese Wednesday. But potential customers, especially if they are two women with small children, should be approached with less aggressiveness.
