We immediately showed understanding, tried to apologize, put my daughter back in the stroller, stood up, and walked away from the tables, making it clear that we respected the fact that we weren't welcome. But as we were about to leave, the man came after us and cursed us with clear aggression in his voice, making threatening gestures as if he were about to resort to physical violence. I truly respect that he doesn't want people sitting outside his restaurant, even at a festival like Bernemer Wednesday. But potential customers, especially when they're two women with a small child, should be treated with less aggression.
