Very busy rest stop. Very expensive . Clean toilets

So I love stopping at these Serways rest areas because they are always clean. But this one taught me otherwise. You would think that in the morning and around 3:30 a.m. the toilets would not be used as often as during peak times and therefore we should be cleaner when we went to them, but in this facility there hasn't been anyone to clean (the inside of the) for several hours I intentionally didn't take photos of shots)😖. Very unfortunate. The first thing you want to see in the morning are toilets that have been dismantled. Pooh

The food was delicious and very well priced, €35 for both.

Unfortunately, we were insulted by the staff and the whole thing was right, the gentleman at the fish counter was unfortunately in the wrong job

First order something in this expensive place and you will receive a receipt for a free toilet. Otherwise you pay a euro and you can throw away the receipt.

There are good charging stations for electric cars there.

A really good opportunity to take a break. Relatively clean inside. Unfortunately there are also too many butts from smokers outside. There should be trash cans with integrated ashtrays. Lots of parking spaces available. Gasoline is of course very expensive because it is right on the highway.

It's clean and nice, but for some reason they close early. I wish it was open until 24:00. IT WOULD BE better.

An excellent rest stop on the road for travelers

The staff even hesitated and gave the food. They knew exactly how bad it was. That was more like assault. Old, very dry, not fresh, inedible and very expensive. Don't fall asleep. Give it a wide berth. By the way, both Serways and the North Sea.

Very nice and clean rest stop. I visit this rest stop regularly on the way home. Staff at the coffee bar are very friendly and helpful. Toilet 1€ but very clean. The voucher was used when purchasing the cappuccino. Prices are a bit high but that's normal on German motorways I can only recommend it.

I took my group, everything is free to the group drivers, it's a really nice and clean place, thank you.

Very friendly staff, delicious food and clean restaurant/rest stop. I can't understand the negative comments about being unfriendly, dirty or "scratchy" on the plate. I come to eat occasionally and everything was ALWAYS great 👍🏼 keep it up and don't let it bother you, you're great.

The service staff apparently didn't think it was a big deal that a cockroach was running around on my daughter's plate with currywurst. Instead of at least receiving the amount we paid back immediately and without any problems, we instead had to deal with the aggressive chef and the hostility of the other staff and were ultimately thrown out of the shop because they feared that the rest of the customers present would be frightened...

I had a cockroach on my plate, the woman at the counter seemed to think it was normal. When I complained she said "that's not a cockroach, that's a cockroach" as if it made any difference.

Very rude staff! I ordered breakfast for my daughter and I, and when my husband wanted to order it for himself and our son, he was shouted at why he didn't say so right away. Nothing friendly or polite is out of the question.

Very clean but also very expensive

There was perfectly fine food and quite a lot to choose from, as well as coffee and many good charging options. Plenty of room for cars and trucks and easy to drive off the highway.

Food was ok, but service moved in slow motion. Not for viewing!

The welcome was super friendly. Modern and clean rooms, had an absolute view, easy to enjoy. Food was great, delicious. If I had to go in that direction, I would happily come back here. Grace 😉

Although we haven't eaten anything, there is a small play area inside and various play options outside. Standard rest stop prices.

Not that fun because it's a shame if you drive past a gas station, Raststätte is closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. So if you want to make use of this, that's a pity. It is a small effort to indicate this in advance.

Oh well. The toilets cost €1 and then many soap dispensers were empty. I also find Servays to be a usury. The prices in the shop are exorbitantly high that even the voucher doesn't help. Otherwise the rest stop is ok. Nothing special.

Visit in the morning at 8 a.m. The whole rest area smells of old frying oil, the tables and chairs haven't been wiped down. The children's playground is broken.

As with other Serways systems, this one is also clean and tidy. Here too, the staff was consistently friendly

A rest stop like many others...but the clean toilets are most important. That's why it's good that there are still larger rest areas

Large rest area with a restaurant. Lots of parking spaces that are also clean. Just using the toilets is a bit expensive in my opinion.

I arrived last Friday afternoon, obviously there was a lot going on, but I often travel on the north-south routes and that was a disaster in terms of crowds and staff management. The four of us lazed around behind the counter and really petulantly left only one cash register open while people stood outside and at the end were allowed to consume warm drinks in 35 degree temperatures. Lazy and unfriendly group (by the way, with no respect for the older guests, who can no longer wait in line for 30 minutes, several people in the queue felt this way). Preferably 0 stars.

Some unmotivated and unfriendly staff. Food at rest stops is typically overpriced but ok. The cockroach that was walking at the food counter also seems to like it :-(

The North Sea sales stand was a bit cramped; the aisles were too narrow to work with the trays.

Be sure to stop by here! You can't even buy a normal road map.

Had a nice coffee during the transit. Looked well cared for. Not cheap, but that's everywhere these days. Very friendly man at cash register self-service restaurant 👌

Nice rest area on the A5, quite large and very well attended. Were only there for a short stopover, the toilets were very clean, the rest stop wasn't visited at all, and the prices for gas were high as usual on the highway.

Outdated rest stop, bad food at overpriced prices from unmotivated staff.

Toilets are incredibly dirty and there are no staff anywhere. Queues from the toilet to the restaurant because only one access machine worked, but no doors were opened free of charge. In the event of a fire, it would be impossible to imagine what would have happened in a panic scenario. @Serway: something is getting way over your head here!

Liver cheese with bread, always delicious! The lady behind the counter was probably not very nice, unfortunately there were a lot of mosquitoes but at least the liver cheese was perfect.

Simply outrageous. A pack of NicNac 4.99 euros is an outrage. My opinion: Close the federal company Tank und Rast and make it available to the private sector.

Unfortunately the opening times are not correct at all. It's closed here from 10 p.m. I think it's a shame for a motorway service station. But then saying you're open 24 hours a day is cheeky!

At 8 p.m. all the chairs have already been put up - according to the motto here it is closed. At the Essener counter it was said that there was no kids menu. Only upon further inquiry did it become clear that the waitress doubted that the menus were actually intended for children (even though we had ordered 2 more meals). Children's playground closed due to risk of injury (no defective equipment visible). Service at the checkout was friendly. Food was quite ok. Kika was on a TV.

Very friendly staff and even though the North Sea was still closed, food was prepared for me and my child. Very flexible and we were very grateful.

Nein! Nein! Nein! Extremely unengaged staff! Not just one or two, but all! The tempo was so slow that a sloth would do a better job. Don’t spend your money here, you will be frustrated. The manager, as his last action on this position, should appologize to all customers!

There is a shower, paid toilet, and even good food. There is a penny and net store nearby, but the downside is that the Hegelmann company has set up its wild free base for vehicles and trailers here (they take up about 70% of the parking lot). Parking on the weekend is only possible in the early hours (5-6) if you are lucky that someone is leaving.

July 17th, 2024 second attempt on the A5/A8 to eat at a serways. Closed here at 11:15 p.m. Just update the opening times so that people know and can continue driving.... Is it that difficult?

On the way back from vacation we wanted to have breakfast. However, we were shocked by the prices. In our opinion, the products were not appropriate for the prices. Serways is not a chain that we think is worth visiting. A pity.

Absolutely rude staff!! I'll never go there again. Can't even speak German properly and be allowed to discriminate against my other cultures. Abnormal. Please just fire!

Godless customer service! Today a service guy told me off (in front of my family) that I didn't say hello to him. Excuse me?! I stood in front of him for several minutes, making eye contact, but he ignored me - no "Hello/Welcome/One moment please". It was humiliating and just childish. I hope he just had a bad day and isn't in that mood otherwise. But the staff definitely needs a basic course in customer service! Btw, currywurst is not recommended! Tastes like nothing, sauce way too sweet, fries not crispy.

The view is good but you are not allowed to play in the small playground if you are over 14, which is really a shame.

2 euros thrown into the machine in front of the toilet was recognized as 50 cents

Sat on the outside terrace. Pastries were fresh and tasted great. Toilet seat cleans 'itself' very nicely!

If I have to pay for the toilet, I expect at least toilet paper and soap. Unfortunately there is no information here.
