A great place in Kiel. For chilling, swimming or even having breakfast

We were in the Seebar on September 7th, 2024. The food was very tasty, the waitresses were all extremely friendly and you could tell that they enjoyed their work. Of course, the location also deserves another plus point. After our meal, we paid on the advice of our waitress and walked a bit along the jetty with our drinks and sat in a beach chair and enjoyed the beautiful view. A minus point for the toilets. Maybe we can do something more there.

Great location by the water. Tasty food and well priced in this great location, definitely worth a visit. Even just have one drink in the evening. Delicious cocktails and homemade lemonades. We are thrilled and always enjoy coming back to this spot. Thanks to the super friendly and attentive team.

We were completely thrilled. Very, very friendly and attentive staff, tasty food at very moderate prices. Location, parking and view great. We'd love to come back again.

So the food is okay, only the service is catastrophic - very unfriendly employees, the tables are dirty and not cleared even though you are sitting down. Meanwhile, the employees are on their cell phones making private calls instead of cleaning the tables or paying attention to who has been sitting for a long time or wants something. Such a fancy restaurant but you have to get everything yourself.

Were there for dinner. All recommended. Friendly staff. But at some point the music was too loud for us because we were sitting directly in front of a loudspeaker. The view of the fjord and the ships is priceless.

Top. A gem. I have rarely felt so good anywhere. Tip: Although not allowed without a lifeguard... Steps go directly into the sea for a night swim!

We were here on a beautiful summer day. The atmosphere is rustic. People sit at wooden benches and tables. The service was friendly and competent, but could have been a little more present. The food was tasty, we thought it was very expensive.

Food and ambience really nice. The location is great. But service was a disaster. I ordered a non-alcoholic Hefeweizen (I've been sober for over 5 years) and got a wheat with alcohol. This shouldn't happen. Then please bring the bottle and an empty glass to the table. The evening was over for me from that moment on. Too bad.

Very cool location, almost unbeatable in good weather (unfortunately rare in Kiel 😵‍💫)! The reception was quite chaotic and unloving (where is the restaurant manager?) - we had to somehow “fight” for a table ourselves. Service at the table was nice, quick and professional. Unfortunately, like everywhere else in northern Germany, it's hard to enjoy food, but that's not the focus here when the weather is good. Absolutely unbeatable is the swimming option with your own jetty into the water, diving board and changing rooms. So if you don't have any culinary requirements, then this location is a “must go” when the weather is great!

Our wedding took place on August 8th with around 130 guests in the bar and on the jetty. It was a complete success because - Communication in advance takes place smoothly, uncomplicated, promptly and effectively over months - the Seebar has numerous service providers on hand that make organizing a celebration incredibly easy - individual requests, e.g. regarding the drinks menu or microphone, modifications during the celebration, etc. can be easily accommodated - the service is quick and always friendly - the guests couldn't eat enough food, so quickly it was refilled - because the food was described as absolutely delicious by everyone present - because as a host, important things that happen during the celebration are pointed out to you in a meaningful and calm manner - because the atmosphere is something very special and the Kiel Fjord remains fondly remembered, especially by guests who have traveled there At the same time, we recommended booking DJ Sunlite, who filled the dance floor at all times and who made it possible to have a wild party until the final end at half past three without any hassle from the neighbors. We would like to thank you again for the great celebration and support and would like to remember our completely happy and satisfied guests. V&T

Unfortunately, we once again experienced that a restaurant, a bar, a café, whatever, is convinced that it can forego good service and reasonable prices because of its good location. In our opinion, this bar also depends largely on its very good location, but otherwise it didn't have much to offer. The staff is unfriendly and already very hectic and stressed in the early afternoon. You are treated unfriendly at the counter, while the waitress doesn't even manage to make eye contact, but instead busies herself with dishes and other accrued orders during the conversation. Furthermore, the coffee, which is way too expensive, isn't even hot and the piece of sheet cake is also completely unreasonable in price and way too expensive. A lot of money is made here with a good location and poor service. Too bad. You can't convince us like that and we definitely won't be coming back.

The food was ok, but the service wasn't good. We waited a very long time for the menu. Then the food and cutlery came but no napkins. I had to get these myself. Overall very inattentive service. It's a shame given the prices, I expected more.

Right on the water, great views, great casual food

I just love this sea bar. Great people, great location on a permanent jetty in the Kiel Fjord with swimming opportunity, super nice service (the Pinsa "starter") is awesome, like all the other food... I go there every now and then and enjoy a few hours that feel like a vacation.

We celebrated our wedding reception in the Seebar and were completely thrilled. If you are looking for a dream wedding location, then the Seebar is the right place for you. Not just the view, but the entire gastronomy, the friendly staff and the quality of the food were stunning. Thank you for such a great organization. Every time we pass the beautiful Seebar we have an unforgettable memory. You are really top!!!

The service is bad, unfortunately!

Nice place but very busy on a sunny day. We did not understand how people got chairs, felt like they were giving it to the people they already know. Delicious pizza and cake.

We have been coming to the Seebar on August 4th for 6 years with around 10 people. We always reserve in advance. It has always worked well so far. The staff is always very nice and accommodating. Unfortunately, this time the food didn't work out so well. 2 burgers were ordered without tomatoes or without cucumber. Unfortunately they were on the burger. The cole slaw was sour. The “beef ribs” were more like a steak. The food was still plenty. We thought it was a shame that you can no longer choose your seats. You can only make reservations in the bar area. All other areas are “self-service”. Maybe we'll have better luck again next year.

Great location, great ambience. You can hardly sit closer to the water in Kiel. It's fantastic what has been done to the seaside resort over the course of many years. You should definitely visit this restaurant. Everyone should find something on the menu. The mussels in vegetable stock that I ordered were delicious, but the bread that came with them was dry and hard. In the second dish, a pizza with goat cheese and figs, the pizza base was very tough and difficult to cut. All in all little things, we'll definitely be back.

Hi, the location is great and in a great location. The pineapple/coconut cake was great. At a place like this we got the place outside. However, not recommended in strong winds. The food was on the table and the wind was blowing. And large amounts of dried bird/pigeon/seagull dirt trickled down from the roof, so to speak, leaving everything on the roof all over us and the food. Many thanks. When we asked, we were told that there was nothing you could do about it. The drinks, hair, food, everything was full. We didn't get ANYTHING replaced. Everything had already been paid for in advance. It's so beautiful there. We won't again.

Noch nie so unfreundlich in einem Restaurant empfangen worden wie hier. Die blonde Dame am Tresen steht ihren Gästen mit so einer miesen Mimik gegenüber, dass man schon gar keine Lust hat, etwas zu bestellen oder im Restaurant zu bleiben. Ihre abwertende und unseriöse Ausdrucksweise hat uns den Rest gegeben. Wer keine Lust hat, seine Gäste 45 min vor Feierabend zu bedienen, sollte einfach früher schließen und nicht seinen Frust an den Gästen auslassen.

Naughty blonde at the counter who won't let us order drinks 1 hour before closing time and emphasizes that they're closing soon. Apparently that's the boss according to the waiter. The waiter wearing glasses was just as unfriendly. Don't look us in the eyes and give an annoyed look. Smells a bit like racism to me. So that the blonde lady knows exactly who I am - I said it to you and I'll say it again here: I pay your wages by visiting you, then I also expect respect and hospitality. I don't think the owner would like something like that. Never seen a juice shop like this.

Top location with a great view. However, some of the seating is not far from absolutely uncomfortable. Bar stools so high that you can barely stand on them and rock hard to sit on. The food is massively overpriced for the quality it offers. Starter nachos €12 not even warmed up (even the Cinemaxx can do it), a Kaiserschmarrn €19 that Austria has never seen before and tastes like nothing else apart from butter. Instead of apple compote, there was red fruit jelly, which had no taste of its own to speak of, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, where you had to look for a long time for vanilla flavor. The service was also rather difficult. Certainly a shop that invites you because of its location, but unfortunately it's not worth the money except for maybe one or two drinks. I wasn't impressed with breakfast years ago and neither is the food now. It's a shame for such a location, other restaurants on the water can do better.

Very very nice place With palm trees, loungers and beach chairs, right on the water, open and covered. Parking can always be found on the right side of the street. Food isn't bad but this is more of a place where you can have a good drink. Just neat people always. Good safe corner in Kiel

Die Location ist sehr schön. Man sitzt auf einer Seebrücke. Die Schiffe sind gleich um die Ecke, das Wasser kann man sehen. Leider ist der Service nicht so gut. Wir haben lange auf eine Bedienung gewartet, die die Bestellung aufgenommen hat. Es war aber total leer in der Bar. Sie haben uns einfach nicht gesehen, da sie unaufmerksam waren. Zunächst haben wir etwas getrunken, später haben wir dann das Essen bestellt, Dass auch sehr lange gedauert hat (40 Minuten). Dabei hatten wir nichts besonderes, außer Burger, wedges, Nachos und so weiter. Später wollten wir bezahlen, aber es kam keine Bedienung, die die Essensreste abgeräumt hat. Beim rausgehen habe ich noch ganz laut einen schönen Abend gewünscht, der Barkeeper hat mich angesehen, aber nicht erwidert/nicht geantwortet. Es blieb ein Fahrer Beigeschmack beim Verlassen dieser Location. Wir werden zukünftig woanders essen gehen. Freundlichkeit steht nicht in jedem Gesicht geschrieben. Wir haben uns einfach nicht so richtig wohl gefühlt, da kein Blickkontakt zwischen dem Personal und den Kunden bestand und so weiter. Auch wurde nicht beim Essen nachgefragt, ob es passend ist oder geschmeckt hat. Ansonsten war das Essen sehr lecker. Für den Preis aber auch nichts besonderes.

The atmosphere in the Seebar is very nice due to the location and tasteful furnishings, the food is good and tasty, but the price is not appropriate. Unfortunately the service was not friendly; No asking if there are any requests, no saying goodbye and relatively long waiting times. That's a shame and we won't give up hope that things will change...

You sit there as ordered and not picked up! We are dying of thirst here after strenuous work. I almost wanted to take water from the open sea, which would have been faster. The waitress didn't respond after raising her hand several times and only when we were visibly annoyed did they come to us. Even eye contact didn't help!! You had the feeling that you had to take off all your clothes to be noticed (we were close to that). Absolutely disappointing evening and we definitely won't be coming back here. I recommend everyone to look for another location. PS they brought inedible Kiba and even spilled it when they laid it down!

It's always possible to be on the water. What should be highlighted is the very good service and a great view. We were invited to a wedding. Definitely visit.

The underwater world under and around the Seebar is beautiful and can be easily explored from the jetty. Here, while snorkeling, you can observe a variety of organisms typical of the Baltic Sea, such as crabs, starfish, barnacles and mussels, but also marvel at seagrass meadows and bladderwrack. Afterwards you can relax on the deck chairs and in the beach chair. It immediately feels like a vacation. In June 2024, the Seebar supported the marine biology snorkeling course school project Snorkling City, where school classes were able to get to know the underwater world from the Seebar. Wonderful place in summer for a meal or just a drink. You can sit on the water, covered and somewhat protected from the wind. The service was a dream, so personable, quick and attentive!!

We celebrated our wedding there last week and it was just beautiful. Great staff and also very attentive. Great location and beautiful water, what more could you want from a place on a day like this.

We spontaneously went here for breakfast on Sunday of Kiel Week. Seats were set up for us very easily. I would like to highlight the friendly and entertaining staff. Kaya served us (TOP!!) I found the breakfast very good. It stands out clearly from the standards and is also filling. I'd love to come back here!

We just had a drink. The view is awesome. It was very spectacular because of the naval cutter regatta right on the pier.

We were at the Kiel Week and had already been on the road for a few hours. Then we visited the Seebar Kiel to take a little break. We were all thrilled with the location, the food was delicious and the service was quick, attentive and very friendly. Many thanks to Sascha, who looked after us well. Completely overpriced, service absolutely bad. We had an appointment at 7 p.m., our table was still occupied, the customers at the table were asked to move away, so we had to stand in the middle of the market. After cleaning the table, the entire surface was soaking wet. After the meal, all three of us were brought an espresso to the table, we thought it was a small gift from the house. When we paid, however, we were more or less asked to pay for this espresso because we didn't say that we hadn't ordered it. If the staff can't remember the tables/customers, then it's not our problem. After discussion, subsequent payment was waived. It was the first and last time for us to go there.

Location is (unfortunately) not everything! It's been a long time since I've been drawn to the Seebar again today. To put it bluntly... nothing will draw me back there any time soon. I have to give at least one star for the continued great location. But then it stops. Self-service, ok, the concept is familiar. The waitress - boss and tenant - himself took pity on serving the waiting people after a long wait without a friendly word of greeting. However, I have rarely experienced something so listless, snotty and unfriendly. The waiting time was unnecessarily long because the good man gave the impression that customer service was not his passion. I ordered a still juice spritzer (€5.50) and 1 piece of cake (€5). He then gave the order to prepare it to his waitress - who immediately took action and prepared the juice spritzer with tap water. When I objected that I was paying the full price and expecting the spritzer to be made with bottled water in the same way as a spritzer with sparkling water, the above-mentioned gentleman became very angry. For the one customer a day who orders a still spritzer, he would not open a special bottle. When I pointed out that he could and should have communicated this when ordering, he became even more unfriendly. Juice is the most expensive part of the drink and after all it is also included. I explained to him that this bottled water (if it is this 1 bottle of water a day) can and should certainly be accounted for as part of a bar's mixed calculation. Good customer service looks different and I expect either a notice that tap water will be used or a price adjustment. I was then told that next time I would have to order a juice and a bottle (mind you, that works out to €7.90 for a spritzer). I politely declined and expressed that I didn't think there would be a next time anytime soon. Mr. boss/tenant then made it clear to me that I would be better off not visiting again. It's a shame, the cake that only tasted like sugar, dirty tables and the extremely high prices unfortunately couldn't ignore the customer service and unfortunately reinforced the bad overall experience. If that's the fine Hamburg style... What a shame, we don't need it here in Kiel! Friendliness doesn't have to cost anything or be excessive - and no restaurant can survive in the long term from just one-time visitors.

Go in spontaneously without expectations and then leave again with a lot of enthusiasm. We stopped here for a short lunch break. The ambience on the water is simply wonderful, cool beach feeling, perfect service, fair prices and... Better than many Italians... the pizza and the starters. It couldn't be easier to delight so many senses. We will be back.

We were there for our daughter's wedding. We really enjoyed it even though the weather was a bit windy. The food, service and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The only drawback were the toilets, a bit unclean and too narrow for people with aids.

I had a very disappointing and unpleasant experience at Seebar this evening. When I wanted to order drinks at the counter, I was treated extremely racistly by an older woman. This behavior is completely unacceptable and completely ruined my visit. I hope that management takes this matter into account and ensures that all guests are treated with respect. Until then, unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant.

We've been here many times before, but this time we were very, very disappointed. The waitress seated us, but then didn't ask for our order for 30 minutes (it was clear, lots of free tables), so we had to actively try to get his attention. Then we received the smallest mussels we had ever seen. We didn't receive cutlery or napkins, so we got them ourselves. Since we weren't nearly full, we ordered a pizza. This was floating in oil when it was brought in. The waitress (a different person than the man before) knocked over a glass of water when it was put down and we didn't get a replacement. She wiped up with our napkins, but didn't bring any new ones, so we had to get up again...we won't go there anymore...

Really great location and great view. You can easily spend an afternoon or evening there without being bothered by any service person. You can even bring your own drinks...

The location was very nice, but that was it. We had a Seebar Colada and an Ipanema that tasted way too watery and all for an exorbitantly high price. Even the cola tasted best. There was no service either, like in a canteen you had to pick up the things yourself. There are better restaurants in Kiel that promise better things for such prices.
