It was very nice. Unfortunately, the waiter was a bit out of it and I guess he gave me too much... at least I could still smell the aftertaste of my beer. Otherwise, everything was very tasty, no other complaints.

For lunch, we had roast turkey breast with mashed potatoes and zander with potato and leek ragout. Both were delicious! The beer selection is excellent! And the ambiance is sophisticated and pleasant. This was a good choice for lunch in Kiel.

Why I, a middle-aged person dressed in business clothes, am addressed informally by the young staff remains a mystery to me. Also, why a request for a few chili flakes for a dish advertised as spicy is charged €1.50 (see photo). Will we have to pay extra for pepper and salt in the future? Or for using the restroom? – And that's despite the already rather hefty prices (€14.90 for pasta arrabiata with a few small shrimp – drowned in too much oil as a "lunch special"). Not exactly a restaurant I could recommend without making major changes. On the other hand, I did like the pleasant ambiance, but that can't save the rating.

Maybe this restaurant should hire a good cleaner. The prices are high enough.

Awesome!!! Let's be honest... perfect service! Friendly, polite, and always at your table just before the last sip! 😉 The dishes were absolutely spot on! The meat was cooked to perfection! The side dishes tasted that little bit above the norm! And the desserts!!! Tried three different ones and they were all perfect! The beers were all great too... I can't say anything about the wines... they're not my area! We'll be back here when we come to Kiel! 👍

- Service was super friendly and attentive. - Food was fantastic (we had pike fillet with chanterelle mushrooms, currywurst with fries, and homemade ravioli, plus a delicious side salad). The portions were just the right size and reasonable for the price. - The ambiance inside was modern and very cozy. It would have been nice outside too, but it was too chilly for us yesterday. - Very clean restrooms. Our children wanted to share a currywurst. One plate came with sausage, fries, a separate sauce in case it was too spicy, and an extra bowl of ketchup. We also had two extra plates so we could divide the fries and sausage equally. What happened here was completely normal, but it's rare, so kudos for that :-)

Besides having one of the longest names for a restaurant, Jan&Hein&Klaas&Pit is definitely the place to go when visiting Kiel. Here you get both good beer and good food. Can definitely recommend their Bratwurst made of fallow dear and wild boar. Would definitely recommend booking a table though.

Great atmosphere, very friendly staff. The food, however, was a complete disaster – fish fried in fat (as per the menu, grilled), potatoes and bacon completely tasteless (not really acceptable), and the calamari was abysmally bad and the portions small. Drinks were completely overpriced. I won't be going back.

We had a wonderful evening here. A very pleasant atmosphere, super friendly and unobtrusive service, and delicious, crisp food. We had main courses from the seasonal menu with chanterelle mushrooms – generous portions and delicious! For starters, we had beetroot with goat cheese and the bread basket, also well-made and delicious. The house beer is smooth and pleasant. We sat outside and enjoyed the evening sun. We can only recommend it!

We were in Kiel for a day on vacation and stumbled upon this restaurant. It's been a few days since our visit, but we still remember it fondly. The food was simply amazing, and the service was top-notch! We were lucky with the weather, so we were able to sit outside and enjoy the surroundings. The visit was so worth the money! A sensational beer selection, freshly cooked, delicious food (the kitchen is really good), and friendly staff. Plus, the outdoor seating is right on the canal between the boat harbor and the small Kiel in the pedestrian area. I didn't go inside, so I can't comment.

The food was incredibly delicious, and the service was very friendly and keen to please everyone. A reservation wasn't necessary for two people. We were there in the evening and sat outside. The interior looked very cozy. The entire place had a great charm. I really liked it. The restrooms were also top-notch. So, I highly recommend this restaurant.

If you're in Kiel, you should stop by! They have a wide variety of beers from all over the world, both bottled and on tap! Beautiful decor, and the best view is towards the cellar 😍! I took photos of a few bottles and took them home with me!

Great food, Excellent service, and good beer. Our dog was even given a bowl of water right away. The only criticism that could be improved would be more labeling of dishes containing alcohol. Unfortunately, my pregnant wife and I had to bother the waitress several times.

Everything is just right here. We visited both branches and found the service very attentive and friendly. Even the question about whether the food was tasty came shortly after serving, not just during clearing. The interior is beautiful, tasteful, and maritime. Fantastic! Even the restrooms invite you to linger and are spotless! Highly recommended! A+!

Perfect 10/10, delicious food served by skilled and friendly staff in lovely, modern yet cozy atmosphere with quiet, mellow lounge vibes! Went for 6p family dinner, kids had good food options and adults enjoyed a wonderful craft beer menu. Our waitress Katharina did an excellent job at making us feel comfortable and arranged a great dining experience for all of us. Prices were very adequate. Keep it up, folks! 🤩

The food is great, the service friendly and quick. The craft beer selection, however, leaves a lot to be desired. It's not as if there aren't Störtebeker, Kehrwieder (they do have a non-alcoholic version), Brewdog (they do have one), Fürst Wiacek, or Frau Gruber. The beers from the Bitburger brewery certainly don't belong there; I can get Guinness or Maisels on every corner. Personally, I would have preferred less fruit beer (also a mass-produced product that I can buy at any trinkgut) and more IPA, or even an Alt, but that's ultimately a matter of taste.

Very tasty and highly recommended. The beer selection is huge, and the friendly staff can help with any questions. They had a really good currywurst with fries and two different craft beers. We would definitely go back.

Nice ambiance, but unfortunately, the lunch offerings weren't particularly fresh. The pollock was frozen, and the mustard sauce was mixed into the spinach, resulting in a mush that made it impossible to distinguish between the spinach and the mustard sauce. It would have been much better served separately, as the fish was very dry and tough. The same was unfortunately true of the rösti. The sauce was thickened with far too much thickener, making it more like mush. We had hoped for more. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the service was friendly and polite.

The food was not quite sufficient in quantity and not worth the price. I ate a hot dog for €21.90. The advertised Kiel bread felt like it had been reheated several times and was still a bit rubbery. Overall, no one in the group I visited the restaurant with was satisfied with the food. Not that it was bad; it was still lacking in some areas. It's a shame; the name suggested a few things. However, the service was attentive, fast, and very friendly. I was surprised that the owner filed a legal complaint with Google about my review instead of contacting me directly beforehand. In my opinion, that would have been the more constructive approach – because every restaurateur who cares about their guests is ultimately interested in honest feedback. I stand by my assessment and wish the restaurant all the best for the future.

La señora (ojalá hubiera tomado su nombre) fue excelente, nos ayudó con las cervezas que se ofrecen, nos dio menús de comida en Inglés. Tan acogedor. Buen ambiente, casi fuimos a la cervecería en Kiel, tan contento de que no lo hicimos. Tuvimos una gran tarde! No escribo críticas a menudo. Así que eso te dice cuánto disfruté este bar.

I've already given this restaurant a critical but objective review due to the poor service and long wait times. Unfortunately, I've noticed that my review has been repeatedly deleted. I find it problematic when critical but respectfully worded feedback is removed by the restaurant. After all, reviews are meant to paint a realistic picture for other guests, not just highlight the positive aspects.

For lunch you will be very full if you order a Kieler hotdog with fries. We bought one with meat and a vegan version. The toppings were the same on both hotdogs and were tasty and well put together. The bread was a bit boring and dry for me. The grottos were large and crispy. We sat outside with a view of the town hall. There was a wide selection of drinks.

Adults aren't sold a child's portion, which I don't like. I had a gastric sleeve and can't eat large portions anymore. So, instead of ordering nothing at all, I thought I'd just get a child's portion. But no, the server told me she wasn't allowed to sell it to me. I wonder what the argument behind this is, because apparently they don't need the turnover—this also affects people who might not be that hungry and therefore want to eat something small instead of nothing at all.

Our tuna was perfectly fried, but the glass noodle dalat could have had more dressing/sauce and ingredients... there were only a few endamame beans, which is a shame.

We ate and drank here with some colleagues. I had the roast beef and loved it. The other dishes were also very good. 👍 The aperitif was also delicious. Later, we drank red wine, a Primitivo, which was also very good.

We happened to pass by here today and tried the currywurst and the homemade lemonade. Both were absolutely delicious and highly recommended.

The restaurant itself is very nice and has a lot to offer. Unfortunately, we were served by a not-so-nice gentleman who was very unprofessional and behaved in a very unacceptable and pushy manner. This left us with a queer and uneasy feeling, which unfortunately affected our mood. Ultimately, we didn't let it completely affect us, and the pleasant atmosphere made up for it. Nevertheless, we can call it a good evening. However, we can say that this restaurant has rather second- or third-rate staff.

Interesting restaurant with an extensive beer selection. Unfortunately, the ribs are a bit tough compared to other restaurants, and the fries are too salty. A wrongly ordered drink was promptly replaced. The appetizer sandwich with three dips is highly recommended. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The noise level is already so high that you can't hear the background music, even though it's not quite full. The location is excellent, right in the center by the water. I'm considering my next visit.

We ordered a Coke and fries. Within three minutes, we had perfectly cooked, crispy fries, which were also salted just right. Definitely not frozen. The Coke was served at the perfect temperature and with a friendly smile. Half a star deducted because a napkin and forks were missing. But we definitely could have gotten them if we had asked ;-)

This place is good for beer lovers. There are a large number of draft beers (around 20). I had an Urban IPA, and it tasted really good. The service is courteous and friendly. Unfortunately, I didn't take a photo.

Ein wenig zu früh erschienen trotzdem schon Platz bekommen. Das war perfekt. Vorspeise Garnelen in Tempurateig sehr gut. Vorspeisensalat auch gut Dressing spitze. Hauptgericht ein wenig schwach. Calamari im Backteig. Billigste Qualität und aus der Friteuse. TK, fettig und hart. Nicht lecker. Siehe Foto. Ein wenig lieblos. Das sollte noch einmal überdacht werden. Das geht besser. Räucherfisch Auswahl auch dürftig. Ein paar Sprotten. Zwei Scheiben Räucherlachs und Stück Makrele ist weit entfernt von Auswahl. Brot dazu sehr lecker. Mascarpone Trifle zum Abschluss. Stand wohl ein wenig lange im Kühlschrank. Mascarpone krümelig und nicht cremig. Das geht besser. Auf die Kritik kam nur ein OK, so wirklich gehört fühlte man sich nicht. Service ansonsten sehr nett und höflich. Wir geben noch eine zweite Chance und nehmen das nächste Mal etwas anderes.

We were here on a Saturday at 7 p.m. It was busy, so reservations are recommended. The service was excellent, very attentive, and friendly. The beer tasting tray idea is brilliant. The food was delicious, a great fusion of old and new. Prices were absolutely reasonable. We were only visiting Kiel, but otherwise, this would be our new favorite restaurant!

We spontaneously went to JHKP on Father's Day. Actually, all the tables were reserved. Luckily, we ran into Karina, who offered us a table for two. My wife has been there several times, but it was my first visit. Karina guided us through the evening in a professional, friendly, and unobtrusive manner. The food was excellent, and the price was 100% worth the service. We noticed that, as far as we could see, ALL the service staff were very friendly and accommodating. A great experience. The name suggests Nordic cuisine. Wrong guess. Beer from Germany and some food from the coast. Delicious, but not North German.

A sensational drinks menu and food of a kind you won't find anywhere else in Kiel. Even simple dishes are creatively prepared and of high quality. Good value for money. Only the desserts are, in my opinion, overpriced for what's on offer.

Shared the pulled beef today and I have to say, we have never eaten anything so galactic. We almost took off ;). The dessert, which was cream cheese-lime mousse with vanilla crumble and raspberry puree, was of course also very tasty. We sat at the tap table today, which was really cool. The insider tip is the homemade lemonade. They taste very fruity and fresh. PS: The waiter Mirko is really very likeable, best regards go out to him. 04/26/25 All good things come in threes! Who would have thought, today we ate here again. Today we tried the hot dog. That was once again flawless. Afterwards we had the slices of bread with dip. They were also very tasty and inexpensive. We visited at short notice today. Arrival around 5.30 p.m. We spontaneously decided to eat there and were immediately given a great place. We didn't have a reservation, but we recommend making a reservation there. There were 7 of us and I can only say one thing. It was really great. Food, a 10 out of 10. Ambience and service was perfect. Nothing was missing. We can only recommend it and give it the highest score. We especially thank him tattooed waiter. He rounded off the evening with his relaxed, cool demeanor. Very professional. Thanks for the great experience, we'll be back. Insider tip: There is lots of great beer in all flavors there. 😉👍🏻

Higher-priced restaurant near the river in Kiel. The outdoor area - including the Kiel ambience - is really nice! While the drinks and food weren't bad, as I said the price is very expensive except for the beer. Service not bad, but the waiter smelled strongly of weed.

I had the vegetarian hot dog with kiwi soda. Really very tasty. Prices are a little higher, but that's understandable given the location and ambience. All in all a very good restaurant!
