The restaurant was absolutely delicious. The waiter, who had a lot of tattoos, was very humorous and very friendly. The food was delicious and the portions were just right. The dessert was outstanding. The bathrooms were very clean and there was hot water. I definitely recommend this restaurant and would come again.

We visited today at short notice. Arrived around 5:30 p.m. We spontaneously decided to eat there and immediately got a great seat. We didn't have a reservation, but I recommend making one. There were seven of us, and I can only say one thing: It was really great. The food was a 10 out of 10. The ambiance and service were perfect. Nothing was missing. We highly recommend it and give it the highest score. A special thank you to the tattooed waiter. His relaxed, cool demeanor rounded off the evening. Very professional. Higher-priced restaurant near the river in Kiel. The outdoor area - including the Kiel ambience - is really nice! While the drinks and food weren't bad, as I said the price is very expensive except for the beer. Service not bad, but the waiter smelled strongly of weed.

I had the vegetarian hot dog with kiwi soda. Really very tasty. Prices are a little higher, but that's understandable given the location and ambience. All in all a very good restaurant!

I had the turkey breast with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The meat was tender and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. I would have liked a bit more sauce, but everything tasted wonderful. The “Chocolate Mishap” for dessert was also very tasty. Ambiance and service were great!

We've been guests here for years, mostly for drinks, but also for dinner. But recently, my reservation was canceled by email shortly before I arrived at the restaurant. Many meaningless statements from a woman who seemed unfamiliar with this restaurant, with the explanation "The system! The system!", led to nothing. At least you could STILL reserve a table for the desired time. That's very conspicuous. When asked what was happening with the free table: "It's reserved." – that was the height of inappropriateness: What do they sort by? Number of reservations? We're often there at lunchtime, otherwise, someone else usually makes the reservation. I only made the reservation myself as an exception to celebrate my birthday. There was no interest or effort at mediation; we only received excuses. We were informed 20 minutes in advance by email (not even by phone) and there was nothing that could be done. "The system," supposedly... I'd say incompetence, and, given the usually very busy restaurant anyway, disinterest. The criticism of the staff is directed at the lady who, in my opinion, acted complacently without a uniform, as she stood out by wearing a red shirt. (Haha, that fits her behavior.) It's important to mention that I've never noticed the regular staff in the slightest negative way, and they could have come up with something. I've also noticed that new temporary staff, in particular, sometimes lose seats due to incorrect allocation of the currently available tables – not just two, but as many as four to six. After we searched for a restaurant that hopefully wouldn't turn us away again at short notice on the way there (which isn't to be expected, as I haven't experienced anything like that in 30 years), we were assigned a table that had become available. The other free table, or the one that became available earlier, were probably both reserved by more important people—at least, that was the feeling we were clearly given several times, even though four of us five had already worked in the restaurant industry for at least 10 years of our lives, and two of us were even fully trained. No one was sympathetic, especially given the behavior of the woman dressed in red (or, as I had to be corrected because of the darkness), or rather pink, who, upon questioning, was clearly not mentioned as the boss. Furthermore, there were five employees who, with a sigh, immediately realized that the woman in pink (I only asked for her name), had apparently misbehaved again. I'm criticizing the handling of the reservation, the last-minute cancellation, which should have been made beforehand (the need for profit seems to be more important here), and the ambiguous situation on site. But the excuses, the unfriendliness, the complete lack of willingness to compromise and the lack of interest in finding a solution, or even just not offering a sample glass of beer as an excuse while we looked for a place that still had space. THAT was blatant, unacceptable, and inappropriate. Someone who treats customers like that won't be tolerated for long, even as a cleaner.

Food and drinks at least 5 stars, service 1 star. The star for service goes to a completely overwhelmed but very nice employee, who was perhaps new or on a trial day, but who certainly seemed very alone. After about 15 minutes of waiting in vain at the table, we got the menus ourselves. A waiter stood nearby, seeming very disinterested. It then took another 10 minutes or more until the nice lady from upstairs came to take our orders. Attempts to get a server's attention by eye contact were, in my opinion, spectacularly ignored. The drinks and food arrived quickly; everything was extremely delicious, fresh, plentiful, and attractively presented. The wine was excellent, the beer fresh. The second half of the visit was a repeat of the beginning: an endless wait for someone to clear/pay, then more waiting for someone to come with the promised bill. Finally, I went to the waitress myself to pay in the hallway. I would recommend it, because the food is really worth it and is something special, but you have to have an incredible amount of patience - or maybe know a server personally - because then it seemed to go faster.

Hungrig mit einem Freund hier mitten in der sonst ja eher traurigen Kieler Innenstadt in ein modernes Lokal geraten. Erst war ich mir nicht sicher ob das eines dieser getarnten Franchise-Restaurants ist, aber wir wurden nett begrüßt und auch ohne Reservierung direkt platziert. Sehr zügiger Service, sicher überwiegend Studenten. Bier steht im Vordergrund, es gibt sogar ein Glossar, aus dem sich direkt noch etwas lernen lässt. Wir haben uns auf das Essen beschränkt, und das war gut. Etwas weniger Salz an den Kartoffeln hätte gereicht, aber sonst schön gewürzt und dargeboten. Gute, aber nicht übergeschnappte Auswahl an Speisen, auch für Pflanzenliebhaber. Charmante Bedienung, witziger Nachtisch. Preise in Ordnung. Es ist lebhaft, vielleicht für das erste Date nicht ideal, aber man kann sicher prima mit einer Gruppe herkommen. Sommers kann man bestimmt auch schön am Wasser draußen sitzen. Ich war positiv überrascht - manchmal muss man seine eigenen Vorurteile über Bord werfen. Wir kommen gern wieder. Vielen Dank!

I was there for dinner with a friend on Saturday evening. The reservation worked perfectly. We had a great seat by the window. The service was great. Fast, friendly and accommodating. 👍🏻 The food came quickly and was cooked to perfection. Beautifully presented and, above all, hot. Simply top class. We came back later for a drink. Here again, friendly and fast service, although this time a different service person was responsible. When we left I praised the service management because I personally find it so much nicer to hear praise than “just” reading it on the internet. We were in Kiel for a concert. That's when I discovered the restaurant. We spontaneously asked for a place, it was made possible. Everyone was super friendly and attentive, even though it was full. Wir hatten einen tollen Abend im J&H&K&P. Das Restaurant hat eine moderne, sehr schöne Einrichtung, das Personal ist durchweg sehr freundlich und sehr aufmerksam. Die Bierauswahl ist ausgesprochen umfangreich und spannend und mit Sicherheit für jeden etwas dabei. Die Möglichkeit des Tastings von verschiedenen Sorten in jeweils 0,1 Liter Gläsern ist eine sehr charmante Idee und ein echter Hingucker. Auch Vegetarier finden diverse Angebote in der Speisekarte, der vegetarische Hotdog schmeckte sehr gut. Insbesondere für Bierliebhaber auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert!

Had fried fish and potato salad. Wasn't that great for the hefty price. Otherwise they get everything in through the very expensive drinks. Beer 0.4 for an impressive 5.80 euros. But the staff was very nice. For anything additional with the meal such as dressing etc. there is a surcharge in the price. It has to be, because otherwise they can stay at this location like many others. I definitely wouldn't eat there again for this dish. Then it's better to go to the food trucks nearby.

Wir waren an der Kielliene dort zum Kaffee trinken eingekehrt und durften trotz mehrmaligem nachfragen über eine Stunde auf unseren Kaffee und Kakao warten. Mit kleinen Kinder ist das kein Spaß. Das machen wir nicht nochmal. Da es nur eine Damentoilette gab, durfte man dort erstmal in der Schlange stehen. Für die recht hohen Preise dort, erwarte ich einfach mehr Service.

Unfortunately I was disappointed at the JHKP today. This restaurant has actually been one of our absolute favorite restaurants for years, but today we were very disappointed. Since we like to eat the spare ribs most of the time, based on the quantity and quality, we were really disappointed today that not only did the price rise (which is also economically understandable) but then the portion was also halved. We won't be coming back for the time being... sorry, but then you should at least stick to the quantity... plus my husband had really hard end pieces, which isn't possible for almost €27. As usual, the beer was very exclusive and delicious.

Wir sind spontan zu fünft im Schneegestöber hier eingekehrt. Das Essen war von sehr guter Qualität und sehr reichhaltig. Backfisch, Fish&Ships, Garnelen und selbst die Pommes und der Salat waren sehr gut. Können einen Besuch uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

As always, the food was excellent and the service was courteous and we felt that Kraft knew what she was doing and enjoyed her work. Thank you for that. Unfortunately, our experience here was not so good. Ordered Rumpstek medium/rare and received a chewy well-done piece of meat, sent it out and received a slightly less well-done one. The location is really recommended. Incredible selection of specialty beers (Pale Ale, IPA, etc...). The dishes are beautifully prepared not only for the palate, but also for the eyes. A large yet cozy restaurant. A lot has been done to improve the acoustics so that the shop isn't too loud even when there are lots of guests.

I do not recommend this place. Their website is only in german and when I tried to book a table well in advance it got declined without my knowledge and the e-mail was only in german and not a word in English. The straff was not helpful at all in the situation and we didn’t get any food anywhere that night. I would hope that they make the reservation system work in a better way, so their customers would not think that they have reserved a table when they actually have not.

Su sitio web está solo en alemán y cuando intenté reservar una mesa con mucha antelación se rechazó sin mi conocimiento y el correo electrónico estaba solo en alemán y ni una palabra en inglés. A very cozy restaurant. Great atmosphere, partly in a lounge style with good background music. Very good quality food and drinks. Only the staff seemed overwhelmed that evening. The waiting time until even drinks were taken was very long. My personal impression was that it was all students, without a manager. Only one young lady was there, who greeted her guests with a friendly smile. The rest seemed very stressed.

Absolute recommendation! Nice ambience, very courteous service and as a vegetarian, finally the problem of not being able to decide. The stuffed mushrooms with mashed potatoes and salad were amazing!

I was there today with my little one. The waitress was very attentive and offered us painting things straight away. In addition to the food, which was really great, I would also like to mention the fancy toilets, which is also important when it comes to gastronomy. The service was great and the beer selection was very large. However, in my opinion the food is not worth the money. It's tasty, but a "good" hot dog shouldn't cost $20
