Secret Garden Vegan Sushi in Berlin

ALLERGY SUFFERERS BEWARE! The food was super delicious, nothing wrong with it! I have a sesame allergy, so I made sure there wasn't a small S for sesame next to the things I ordered. The first dish came sprinkled with sesame anyway. When I pointed this out, the explanation was, "It doesn't say so for these particular dishes because it's the same everywhere, and you know that." I think that's extremely dangerous for people with severe allergies. Otherwise, everything was really great.

Best vegan sushi I tried and overall great food. Plus the restaurant is beautiful. Will definitely come back if I visit Berlin again

We were here 6-7 years ago and had the best vegan sushi ever. Today there was nothing left of it. Only half the creations, and only half as creative. Instead, the same frozen stuff as everywhere else. (tofu sticks etc) Service was absolutely disinterested and also watched TikTok with headphones. Tables were dirty, food was more expensive than back then and not nearly as good. What a shame.

it doesn't live up to hype. Location, great, atmosphere nice. From here it gets less points. First, we booked a table at 8pm. You'll be disappointed that you won't necessarily have a "reserved" table, we arrived on time but we had to wait 15 minutes, 15 minutes is OKish but this means there's a management problem with the bookings. The waiter forgot the entree and only after remind him about it the dish came, late of course. Food was generally good but not outwordly, portions of the main dishes were fair, but is the sushi that gets the lower score. One key ingredient of sushi is the rice itself that should taste a bit crispy and hints of sweet from the vinager, but no, this rice was very very bland, like the rice I can cook myself at home. We were three, and the agreement and disappointment on this was general. And last, there's no toilet inside, it's shared with the food store downstair, so every time you have to ask for the key. Another minus point.Too bad.

Great service and very tasty food

Made for tourists! I was a guest here last weekend. We hadn't reserved a table, but this is recommended at least on the weekend. We were greeted and given a table, but there is a different way to be friendly. The restaurant is very lavishly decorated, but the tables are so close together that your neighbors are practically sitting on your lap. In addition, not all chairs have backrests and the tables are so small that you get in your feet. Now about the food: The menu is extensive, but for me the composions have a fast food touch. Some variants come with mayonnaise or other toppings (e.g. pesto). In addition, many fully fried rolls or sushi with fried fillings are offered. The portion sizes are manageable; The price/performance ratio is simply NOT right here! In terms of taste, the dishes are okay, but have lost the original sushi character (soured rice with filling, plus soy sauce, pickled ginger and wasabi - very little ginger and wasabi are served in proportion). Conclusion: You can do it, but I won't visit the restaurant again.

We had a wonderful experience. We took the menu for 2 people and it was delicious, plus we even got a ramen. The only thing is that we were still a bit hungry, so I’d say the portions aren’t very filling

Simply divine! Huge selection of great dishes with delicious fresh ingredients. And everything is vegan, so great! I couldn't decide, I wanted to try everything, the food was really that good! Just sat there quietly and chewed reverently. 😃 I definitely recommend the seaweed salad. Very nice service. ❤️

The food was very very good. Unfortunately our waiter treated us very badly, even more than the "Berlin average". Very unfortunate, because rude service ruins the experience.

Cozy shop with a cool view over Warschauer Straße. Unfortunately we didn't really like the food. The udon bowl was very sweet in taste. It also tasted like glutamate. My partner didn't like it either.

The atmosphere is really nice and cozy. Sushi and kimchi were also delicious, but unfortunately the two ramen were not what you would expect. The “Spicy Miso Ramen” was 0% spicy and very fatty. It also contained coriander, which should not be part of real ramen and belongs in Vietnamese cuisine. Unfortunately, the noodles were too cooked and didn't taste good. Very unfortunate.

We were there on a Wednesday evening and the restaurant was not very busy. It was super tasty and quick. By far the best sushi I have ever eaten, especially the platter for two is highly recommended! The service was very nice and charming!

The restaurant hit the nail on the head with Secret Garden! At first you don't expect much from the vegan Rewe, you come up the stairs and the atmosphere changes 180° in the best sense of the word! The ambience (from the perspective of a white Central European) seems like a good mix of traditional and modern. What I liked best was the table decoration, which interestingly takes place under the table top. The service was great that evening and was always on point when we asked if we needed something. The food (in addition to being completely vegan) was to die for!!! So all in all a very successful evening! I would have given the sixth star without hesitation.

We had a family dinner, flavours were varied and quite enjoyable. No repeated patterns as every piece is quite unique. Table service was also nice and efficient which is quite rare in Berlin. We will return for sure.

Vegan premiere.....successful. Very tasty and something for everyone.

The picture I took isn't the best one, but the vegan sushi was very good! We had a selection of the menu for 2, for 40€. It was a good quantity of food but we still got an addition of Tempura pyramid as well, and in total with water we spent 55€ for two people. Sushi rolls were lovely, especially the fried ones and the ones with truffles.

What happened to this place??? The quality used to be amazing, they used beautiful rice grains and the sushi was so creative and fresh?! Im not even vegan and their sushi to me was on par with high level fish-based sushi restaurants. I used to order frequently but it’s been a while and it’s no where near as good, honestly sub par. I found it so special before, such a shame.

After having dinner, and drinks, we asked for a second round of drinks and a glass of water. The waiter told me quite aggressively to get up and go and get the water myself. Food is average. But, cosy atmosphere in a good location.

Worst restaurant in berlin. The worst service experience I’ve ever had in my life (on my birthday). Being pushy and racist doesn’t get youse anywhere and hope you’ll be flat broke at some point as you have been getting the bloody same feedback for the last two years. Food was okay though and that’ll be the only meaning for 1 start but its price makes no sense whatsoever.

Nice decoration. We took the sushi platter for two and it was very tasty. The hibiscus tea tasted very good and the kiwi-matcha cheesecake was also great. Staff was friendly :)

I was so in hype to go there. Everything was disappointing. The waiter was really rude, he spent most of the time playing with his phone, I tried to call him 3 time tho have the check, I had to stand up to catch his attention. The food was amazing to see, but kind of tasteless. The rolls were deep friend, panure was fine the filling was straight tofu, without any flavor. Sushi was ok, nothing special. I was very disappointed to pay 30€ for this tasteless experience. The place is amazing, they would need some signs outside that you need to get inside and take the stairs.

Food was quite good, the sushi is definitely worth seeing, the soups are rather mediocre. Unfortunately the waiter was really a disaster. He was unfriendly, forgot a drink when there were 5 people in the restaurant and brought the wrong dish.

What can I say... I love fish... But this veggie sushi and everything else on the menu is simply incredibly tasty and extremely well prepared. Here we “present” food, not just put it on the table. Top food. Top service. Top ambience. I've been here a few times and can only recommend it. It's worth making a reservation. One of the best veggie Asian fusion kitchens I know. Definitely in Berlin.

Me and my family wanted to try vegan in Berlin, the waiter was nice, even though we didn't have a table reservation, we still got a table, the food was delicious, the drinks were great, the atmosphere was nice, the staff is nice. Then come back

*Let me clarify that we were not allowed to enter the restaurant so I can’t score the food or the ambience, for this reason I won’t put any review on it for the sake of truth. Nevertheless, I can say one thing or two about the rude behaviour we have been subjected to by a guy at the entrance* What happened is that we were with our dog who barked as soon as he sees this reception guy. With a very rude attitude he tells us that the dog is not friendly and we can’t be allowed in, I try to explain that we have a mouthpiece and that the dog is actually friendly, but he doesn’t even allow me to finish the sentence and says no, adding also that VISA/MASTERCARD payments are not allowed (Also, let’s talk about this: in the German capital in 2024 people are forced to use cash…). I left the place very upset not because of the rule (because my dog had indeed barked) but because of the very rude attitude of this person whom I actually suggest to work far from customers. We came all the way from West Germany to try this place and I found myself utterly disappointed. Above all, being a place who serves vegan food one could expect that there is a certain understanding towards animals, this was certainly not the case and if I think about it I get upset thinking about him interrupting me and rejecting us. Unbelievable. If possible please bring your money somewhere else.

We’ve visited this restaurant twice now. It’s above the Veganz store. The interior is moody and Asian inspired. If you sit near the window you’ll have a great view of Warschauer Brücke. The food is delicious and looks great. The service could be a little bit more attentive and faster.

We were nearby and wanted to eat sushi. The vegan sushi and maki was very good and when we were accidentally brought the wrong food, our waiter immediately took it away and gave us the right one. Very nice atmosphere and there is also a small dry ice show to go with the sushi. A tip from us especially for all vegans and vegetarians.

The sushi is amazing, especially with black rice. You would have to be a philistine not to like it.

Secret Garden is a good place to visit if you want to eat plant-based. The food wasn’t extraordinary, though. Some dishes had interesting ingredients, but they were lacking in their presence (not enough chili, wasabi mayo, teriyaki) which was a shame. Also, restaurant was severely understaffed: one waiter had to serve the entire restaurant on his own. He came across as stressed but did manage to bring the food on time. They serve a large variety of interesting cocktails. We ordered the Aperol spritz, for which we paid €8 or €8,50, but unfortunately our glass was half full. Would recommend going for a beer or soda instead so that you know what to expect.

last night my partner and I went to try the secret garden sushi, we knew we would pay a lot as the quality is high. we had taken into account ordering the menu for two people, costing €39, we didn't expect such small portions. the food was very good and of good quality, but in addition to not having satisfied us in the slightest (when we left we were more hungry than when we got in), the size of the pieces was really minimal, just a few small pieces. we left disappointed, excellent food but the quantity is not worth the price.

Nice area with a great vibe inside. All sushi is vegan and we saw and ate things we never had before. Very tasty and besides that quick and friendly staff. They do accept most cards for payment! I would highly recommend trying here. They are indeed secret as they are located above the grocery store on the corner so look up ;)

We are extremely disappointed! Don't even know where to start. We visited this place because of the great reviews but unfortunately we can't confirm it at all. Even though you have reserved, you have to wait. The tables are so close together that you couldn't hear your own words. White rice that is colored with dye is sold as black rice, which is an absolute no-go. The sushi actually didn't taste like anything. The breaded sushi was served with breadcrumbs or stale bread. The taste was accordingly. Really a huge disappointment. The first time we didn't want to tip. Here emphasis is placed on mass production and not on quality.

The soup was very good, the smoothie excellent, but we found our sushi less convincing; we have often eaten better ones, even vegan ones. Strangely, the waiter seems to have taken his tip himself, unless it was a mistake, because he made us pay 33 euros by card instead of the 29 euros we owed.

Good food! However I saw the bartender eat at least four boogers with his fingers and didn’t wash his hands after!

It's a very beautiful place with amazing vibe, however the food was just not amazing it was edible however not really tasty the mushroom was really not cooked. And the mango in the sushi was too bitter.

Visually the sushi was really excellent, but unfortunately the taste was really average. Personally I would suggest less fancy (truffles etc.) and better basics. The service was a bit inattentive, but the food and drinks arrived quite quickly

This was a very hyped restaurant we sought out during our time in Berlin, and we were very disappointed by lack of creativity of the sushi, rudeness of the staff, and the unwillingness to accept credit card. I’ve had vegan sushi many other places that stood out more than this.

There is also a vegan sushi restaurant directly via the Rewe Vegan shop. The selection is large, especially the sushi house plates are recommended, which are served in a besordrs decorative with mist. the homemade limindaen. You can order it without sugar, a good alternative to beer or wine.

As soon as we arrived the waiter was rude, my friend told him we had a reservation for two and he cut her off by saying “I can talk now”. Cleanliness to be reviewed. We ask for a carafe in the heat, the waiter brings us two small glasses of water. The waiter is oppressive, he stares at us while we eat like he's in a hurry and we have to leave. On the culinary side, very overrated, disappointing, bland and the vegan skewers are fatty and taste like pork fat, (what's the point of being vegan then???) plus, the price is too high.

Although the place is a bit far away from the rest of the city, the food is amazing and the pricing is good. I fell in love with the sesame sauce.

Hi there, I'm extremely disappointed with how I was treated today by your employee who you Pay to represent a business I'm sure you worked very hard to have. I told him it's an emergency and showed him the box of tampons I'd just bought and asked to use the bathroom. I had to get off the ubahn before bleeding all over myself. Your misogynist employee at the door who you Pay to greet people told me "it's not my problem" and mocked me and didn't offer me food or a drink or anything or any help or respect. I am so beyond disgusted with how he treated me. I trust you'll deal with this swiftly and not tolerate hate of any kind in your establishment. This is a clear sign of misogyny and a lack of empathy towards womens' experiences on his part. You cannot imagine how relieved I was to find a bathroom only to be told "it's not my problem" and mocked by this guy on a power trip. Enraged, hurt, disgusted. I genuinely hope this is a business that doesn't support misogyny or generally appalling behavior towards people who visit.

Very nice view over the Warsaw Bridge, nicely decorated restaurant. Waiters tried hard, but unfortunately rather cold, not very empathetic Unfortunately, the food isn't as great as it was at the beginning. Everything was rather lightly seasoned, the udon noodles were completely overcooked. Very unfortunate

It was beautiful but not that tasty, for me it was missing for flavour. A bit pricey but I assume it's the average for the neighbour. I would recommend go Earlier as it was super crowded later on.

The dish I got had no taste at all. The Udon noodle were overcooked, none of the different type mushrooms in the plate had taste, the Trüffel aroma was only signed in the Menü but not present in the plate. Sorry I won't come back 👎

Super tasty and great value for money. Everything is vegan and there is also a delicious, rich and varied selection for non-vegans. Great atmosphere and lovely hosts. Went there for business with the whole department and everyone enjoyed it and enjoyed it even though not everyone is vegetarian. Great location and well connected.

I had the Kazuki Sticks (breaded and fried tofu), Irezumi Art Inside-out and the Tempura Pyramid. The dishes were beautifully presented (unfortunately no photos were taken), but I found the taste disappointing. Kind of boring, the two fried dishes were way too fatty for my taste - I couldn't finish them and the food sat in my stomach for the rest of the evening. I should have tried one of the main courses - perhaps they would have been more to my liking. When I'm back in Berlin, I'll give the place a second chance.

We ordered a diverse selection of sushi and were mostly satisfied. What should be positively highlighted is the attractive presentation of the sushi plates and the delicious taste of the sushi. The quality and selection really impressed us and we left the restaurant happy. However, I was bothered by the limited choice of menu for individuals or couples. Overall there were only a few menu options, which I thought was a shame. In terms of price, I also found the offer a bit high. Overall, it was an enjoyable sushi experience, despite the limited menu variety and somewhat high prices.

Great vegan shop with delicious sushi and ramen. The location and view also provide a lovely atmosphere. Great service too! Added bonus is the new plant-based Rewe is just downstairs.

We had a great time at Secret Garden. Service was exceptional, very fast and amazingly friendly. Got some extra veggies and rice for our toddler. All the dishes we ordered, the sencha green tea as well as the drinks we had were extremely delicious We will definitely come back to try some desserts.

The food was excellent, the place is very pretty and well decorated but unfortunately like all places in Berlin it's always a little dirty... The tables were glass with little zen gardens inside, it's very pretty however the tables are washed quickly and there are lots of water marks on the glass. And inside the little Zen gardens there were lots of cobwebs. The service was not extraordinary, the waitress was a little rushed... Missing some improvements to deserve 5 stars but very good place to eat well
