Terrific vegan German food + outstanding vegan tiramisu

Delicious food in a cozy atmosphere with live music. We really enjoyed our visit and will be back soon with family and friends. :)

The food was delicious. Hearty vegan dishes, perfectly seasoned. We had the cheese wedges, lasagna tartar, and the soy roulade. It's worth a visit.

The food was super delicious, and the service was always there when you needed it. It was a bit chilly when the door opened. The restrooms were really cold, but clean. Great vegan menus, not cheap, but it's a family business that expresses its lifestyle well in its food. Very tasty, highly recommended. If you like local food, this is the place for you; definitely reserve a table.

Really a shame. I had reserved a table for 9:30 p.m., which went through the website without any problems. Shortly beforehand, for the sake of good order, I wanted to let you know that we would be 5 minutes late because we couldn't find a parking space. The employee on the phone then told me that reservations weren't possible at that time anyway. When I asked why, he said it was just because they wanted to get off work on time and didn't want to stay late because of two people. Then I said, if they don't want us there, I'll cancel. Which he enthusiastically accepted with the words “great, thank you.” I was really looking forward to the restaurant. But being told you're not welcome before you've even been inside is crazy. Certainly okay during the day - but just don't reserve after 6 p.m.

Classic cuisine that is completely vegan. Very tasty and nice!

We come to you every few months. Fantastic food, we were there last time for “Schnitzeltag”. Recommendation goes out to friends!! 😊👍🏻 Of course, thank you also for the service

Unfortunately, the food didn't really impress us (in terms of taste, price and quantity). The taste of the Wiener Schnitzel was somewhat reminiscent of cake dough, which I find interesting in theory, but has less to do with a hearty main course. The exception to this are the side dishes (potato and cucumber salad), which were really tasty. Then we had the roulade. Here we thought that this is what a shoe sole could taste like. Unfortunately, only the sauce was really tasty here. The drinks (wine and homemade lemonades), however, were great! We don't quite understand why the vegan options have to be just as expensive as their meat alternatives in other restaurants; the raw materials are now a little cheaper to purchase. We weren't 100% full from the portions either. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the restaurant in terms of price-performance ratio. Even the lack of a welcoming atmosphere (bare walls) couldn't make up for it ;) By the way, we weren't the only ones who didn't like it. The table next door tried a single spoonful of the starter soup before it went back into the kitchen with a grimace. Tip: If necessary, please invite a few people at the rehearsal dinner for the next menu who dare to open their mouths if something doesn't taste good ;) 3.5 stars for the delicious drinks and the somewhat sloppy but very friendly service :)

Everything was very tasty and beautifully prepared. The atmosphere is pleasantly relaxed. :)

The food and atmosphere were excellent. The staff were very friendly and kind, and the portions were generous. I had no idea there was a vegan restaurant here! I will definitely return. The only downside was that the tea was just Yogi tea, but aside from that, I was very satisfied!

100% vegan restaurant. Reserved a table here whilst on vacation in Berlin. Place was 95% full on a weekend night. Food was delicious though a slightly on the pricey side. I wanted to try out two starters instead of main course and opted for a soup which was sweet potato and the vegan beef slice with salad. I believe that the menu changes on a regular basis. English speaking staff and nice ambient atmosphere. There was pianist.

It was a really great evening with delicious food, great service and a pleasant atmosphere. We will be back and can recommend the Försters without reservation. 💚

Was able to spend a great evening with a friend at your place. The schnitzels were really a hit. Very friendly staff throughout. A great atmosphere and a musician played great Spanish music and sang along, very pleasant. The main courses were a bit expensive, but somehow they were really worth the money and overall just a great atmosphere. Parking situation nearby is difficult, especially in the evening/afternoon.

I was at Försters with my boyfriend on Valentine's Day. For starters we had the Keeseecken, which were really delicious – nice and crispy! For the main course we chose the vegan chicken schnitzels with potatoes. I was a little disappointed here. I really liked the “meaty” texture, but it was way too under-seasoned for my taste. I also found the prices of the main course a bit too high for the portion. The speculoos tiramisu, on the other hand, was a dream!

The food was really good! It's been a long time since I've eaten such special and delicious things. Above all, the lax tartare as a starter was really awesome. We had the winter bowl and the gyros plate. The portions are really huge and do justice to the price. For dessert, the three of us shared the speculoos tiramisu, which is definitely advisable 😄 we couldn't do it alone. The service is great and accommodating! I would happily recommend it and will definitely come back 😊

Very, very strong address! Very interesting interpretations of classic German home cooking, elegantly seasoned. The ambience and service are simply harmonious. Pure recommendation!

Great concept and implementation! The salmon tartare is highly recommended, but the portion size is completely sufficient (and if you're very hungry, there's nothing wrong with ordering a starter and/or dessert, but then you'll roll home, promise!). See you next time!

So we ate there for the first time because I've only heard positive things. So we come in and it looks pretty nice at first. We sat down in a comfortable corner and were given the map quickly, although that was most likely because we were the only ones at the time. In addition to the normal menu, we also got the weekend menu. It consists of pear and chestnut soup as a starter, meatloaf with potato dumplings and Brussels sprouts as a main course and an apple crème brulee as dessert. Sounds fantastic at first. We ordered the whole thing without wine. The price here was €40 per person. With our drinks came a greeting from the kitchen pretty quickly. It was a kind of vegan cheese with tomatoes. We were totally convinced by the little greeting and looked forward to the rest of our meal. The “Inge dances” drink also tasted great, but the second time I ordered it it was far too ginger-heavy. So let's get to the appetizer. With a soup made from chestnuts and pears, you expect a soup that also tastes like chestnuts and pears. What we got smelled strongly of a cowshed or something similar and unfortunately tasted pretty much the same. I have no idea where the chestnut and pear were. We didn't even get bread, which is what you would have expected at this price. It was also slightly spicy at the front of the mouth, which we also gave the staff feedback on. The waiter reacted blankly and couldn't imagine why it should be spicy. Overall, the starter was a failure and we would have liked to have left, but we still had hope that the rest would be good. So the main course. I would like to remind you that we ordered meatloaf with potato dumplings and Brussels sprouts. Where should I start? The Brussels sprouts were tiny and burnt in places. The dumplings were seasoned with way too much nutmeg (that can actually be poisonous!) and overall not tasty. The sauce tasted a lot like wine, which wasn't mentioned anywhere on the menu. The biggest evil in this dish was the so-called meatloaf. Couldn't get a piece of meat. It tasted more like an overly acidic sponge with a slight vomit taste (no, I'm not exaggerating). We only managed to get a few pieces of it down with difficulty. Please keep your hands off it!!! The dessert was okay. The creme brulee tasted minimally of apple and mostly of coconut. It would have been nice if it had been written somewhere, as we both don't like coconut. The star fruit that was next to it was completely unripe and still green. In general, you can say that you can't get any information about the components of the food anywhere. It also smelled like the strange wine sauce from our main course in the back. We left the restaurant with 100 euros less wasted and an unpleasant feeling. I felt slightly feverish, was shaking slightly and had a really bad feeling in my stomach. Not even a hot water bottle helped with my cramps. My companion got small pimples on his neck. Besides, she's just as sick as I am. It also has to be said that we don't have sensitive stomachs. We will definitely not be coming back.

Well, ordered and paid for the voucher on New Year's Eve - unfortunately I still haven't received it yet!! despite asking last Sunday... pretty unpleasant... please refund (Angelika Piorko) ...now January 27th. - no reaction... unbelievable

The Försters has an interesting menu with classic hearty dishes as a vegan version, such as sauerbraten, roulade or liver. Overall the food was delicious. The portion size is ok - I recommend an appetizer to fill you up. Unfortunately, all dishes were served too cold - just as warm. The roulade and the potato gratin were just lukewarm inside. The service was very nice and attentive.

For the price: expected more. Jägerschnitzel €23, soy roulade €20. The roulade was very over-salted (they both usually eat it with more salt!) and too much mustard. Vegan schnitzel was solid but not exceptional. Ambience a bit cheap, but still cold and unimaginative. Service super fast.

What a cool idea, it doesn't happen that often. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was pleasant and the selection was good too. The only point of criticism: I found the food generally a bit sour.

At Försters, an attentive and young team awaits you in a relaxed, down-to-earth atmosphere and serves fantastic home-style dishes in the “veganized” version, which are hardly or indistinguishable from the “original” in terms of taste, appearance and texture.

Had the weekly dish, inexpensive, tasted good. There's not much to complain about. Portion was enough for me so it tended to be generous. Service took sufficient care.

Great vegan food with very attentive and friendly service. The portions are also very generous.

The food was OK, but really nothing special. The spinach soup really didn't taste good, it was too bitter and poorly seasoned and was more of a thick porridge than soup. The schnitzels (both soy and chicken schnitzels) were okay, but unfortunately too tough and not very spicy. Well prepared but very poor in taste. The rosemary potatoes in a lot of fat, dripping. Far too much rosemary, hardly any potato taste. Mushroom sauce was ok. The tagliatlle were also okay, but the salmon substitute was criticized. The tiramisu was too dry and the mascarpone substitute in it was much too solid. The crème brule was fine. The operation and service were okay. The penetratingly loud piano music, which was completely unsuitable for the pieces, was very stressful. Next time I would explicitly make sure that there was no piano music, that was really bad! Service was good. All in all, everything cost €38 per person. 15€ for a really mediocre Chardonnay was of course way too expensive. Would I go again? Rather no. Thanks anyway

Amazing plant based restaurant serving traditional German cuisine. Every single dish was a success and surprise, incredible tastes and generous portions. Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere, the piano is a nice touch but maybe slightly too loud. Looking forward for our next visit :)

We had hoped for more, what a shame! The quality of the food is really too bad for the prices. The schnitzel was delicious, but the boiled potatoes were unfortunately way too salty and didn't have much sauce. The goose with dumplings was so-so. The tagliatelle with lax didn't taste good at all. Five years ago the food here might have been special for vegans, but now there are so many good options that the food today was really disappointing.

The dishes were of very good quality and plentiful. There were king oyster mushrooms/mushrooms, super tasty! Friendly and attentive staff, quiet, pleasant atmosphere. Vegan roulade, vegan goose, vegan schnitzel. These dishes are very authentic. The vegetables and the selection are also very tasty.

Enttäuschend. Die Suppe als Vorspeise ging noch. Der Hauptgang, vegane Gans, war schlecht. Selbst die Klöße und den Rotkohl kann ich selbst zu Hause besser. Dafür fast €50 pro Person — nicht nochmal.

Disappointing. The soup as a starter was still ok. The main course, vegan goose, was bad. I can even make the dumplings and red cabbage better at home. Almost €50 per person for that — not again.

Suppe war ok. Vegane Gans ungenießbar. Nicht nur die „Gans“ selbst war schlecht, sondern auch Rotkohl und Klöße, wo eine vegane Zubereitung unproblematisch ist. Preise völlig überzogen. Nicht zu empfehlen.

I got the soy schnitzel and she got the roulade i really liked my schnitzel it was really comforting and also big portions:) its a good value for money my mom loved her vegan roulade and i also enjoyed it Overall very nice experience

It was our first time here and it was for Christmas dinner. What can I say, it was incredibly tasty. We'll definitely be back.

Well, what can I say? A star would be appropriate, but probably a bit nasty. We ordered a birthday table with great expectations. When we arrived, it was very loud and very crowded, which tends to bode well. The counter woman was so overwhelmed that we waited 15 minutes! had to wait to get her attention as she was trying to get an invoice for the previous customer. There were probably language difficulties... I have no idea. It was...well...weird. Meanwhile, a curly-haired "young man," slightly disoriented, "traipsed" back and forth behind the counter and, even after speaking to us, didn't feel the need to listen to us. Finally, after an extraordinarily long wait... if I had been alone... I would have gone... however, as already described at the beginning, we were invited to a birthday party - with a table reservation... well... somehow there was no table available, we had to repeat the reservation several times until the woman understood it correctly. Nonsensically, she kept repeating what was asked...well, maybe she had a "status" that wasn't really obvious. When we were "shunted" somewhere...it took quite a long time again until she managed to bring cards. Long story short... short story. After an additional 3/4 hour, we simply sat down... the table was sticky, but that was kindly removed. Ordering food took a long time again, food was mediocre... I expected more... however, the Thursday offer is highly recommended!!! There would be 4 stars for that (unfortunately very salty) but, better, than the absolutely overpriced other main courses. Hot drinks suddenly stopped working... something was broken. Well, when I paid, I saw that part of the kitchen and the counter area were flooded. Makeshift with kitchen towels on the floor!!!! laid out, that should probably help. Help! Too bad! Unfortunately, the toilet, which is actually very nice, was very unhygienic! Liquids (?) on the toilet floor, toilet paper everywhere... and hair. Disgusting!

I've been there twice now. I think the food is okay. I have many vegans in the family who cook better. There is also extremely little sauce with the dishes. The roulade therefore looked very dry. My “duck” had so little sauce that it disappeared into the mountain of red cabbage. The “duck” was very dry as a result. So you shouldn't skimp on substitute products when it comes to sauce. Especially for the prices. But it's a very nice place. The atmosphere is very cozy.

Four of us ate at Försters. Thanks to reservations we had a good seat. The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. The staff was friendly, but could have been a little more on the ball. Drinks and food orders were brought to the table without long waiting times. The dishes were really very tasty and well prepared. (The winter bowl was great, the roulade was great, schnitzel and tiramusu were also delicious) our plates were empty. Thank you - a restaurant I would recommend and would happily visit again.

All vegan restaurant that serves staple German dishes. It was my first time and everything on the menu looked good. Try the vegan goose! Full of rich flavor. Love my experience there and the waiters were great! Thanks.

A completely vegan restaurant that I can happily recommend. Even if you're not vegan, it's definitely worth a visit. The food and service is top. The ambience is generally good too. When it's full it feels rather cramped and for me personally it was too loud. Sound insulation on the ceiling could possibly help here. But that's complaining at a high level. The prices are absolutely top for the quality offered. The menu is pleasantly clear and shows the quality of the cuisine. The draft beer is also highly recommended. I would definitely like to come back. In my experience, reservation is recommended.

It was really tasty! My daughter thought the schnitzel was “the best ever”, and I also really enjoyed the roulade with the gratin. The service was friendly and attentive. We'll be back next time we visit Berlin!

The food we had was pretty good, except that the duck (or, more precisely, the rice paper surrounding it) was not really crispy and the potato mash was not really warm. A bit disappointing that no alcohol-free beer was offered.

I was actually really looking forward to visiting Försters because I think it's great that traditional meat dishes are served vegan here. Unfortunately, I have to say that I'm extremely disappointed right now. When I came into the restaurant, someone was playing the piano, which I thought was okay at first, but due to my difficulty filtering noises and processing them, it became more and more difficult for me to enjoy my stay, as there was already a high noise level. So I asked the service whether it would be okay if the piano music could pause or stop. To be honest, it wasn't easy for me because I was worried that it might not be taken into account. After (unfortunately, as I suspected) I was met with a lack of understanding and the piano playing neither paused nor any other response, I was quite disappointed and angry and asked to pack up my food, which had not yet been touched. I paid without comment and left. Here too, nothing more was said by the waitress. Very very sad... and it's super sad that so little consideration is given to neurodiverse people who ask for understanding.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed. My partner (eats meat) and I (vegetarian) went here on a Sunday evening. As soon as we walked in, we were hit by a very unpleasant smell of sewage that took over the entire place. The service seemed to have little interest in us and it took almost 10 minutes before we even got a card. As the evening continued, the service staff appeared unprofessional, arrogant and slow. Regarding food: we have eaten much better vegan food elsewhere or at home. The soy roulade and the vegan duck didn't convince us at all. In my opinion, the roulade chewed more like the sole of a shoe and tasted little. The Brussels sprouts were hard and unseasoned. In our opinion, the taste of the vegan duck had absolutely nothing to do with duck. The "meat" was very light and rather rubbery or sponge-like and tasted bland. Neither dish came close to the taste of real meat. This is very, very disappointing, especially for prices that sometimes exceed €20/main course. Especially since it's not a science to cook high-quality vegan food and replace meat. In my opinion, the wrong recipe was chosen here. It would have been nice to know what the substitute products were made of, but you don't get any information about this on the menu or from the service staff. Unfortunately, it was a bitter disappointment. At first I was very happy to have found a purely vegan restaurant with home cooking, but I think a lot of things need to be changed here. My stomach, which is actually not at all sensitive, also had to deal with the long-term digestion of what I had eaten.

As “old” vegans, we are unfortunately quite disappointed. Apart from the fact that we really missed the salads on the menu, the taste wasn't really as hearty and spicy as you would expect (and with good spices or soy sauce). E.g. The porcini mushroom lasagna tasted totally bland and was simply far too expensive. Similar with soy schnitzel. The crispy potatoes were good. But... none of that justifies these prices. It's a shame that as vegans we were really looking forward to this restaurant...

This place is brilliant! If you're vegan and visiting Berlin, this restaurant is a MUST! There are loads of vegan options in the city, but we were starting to get tired of Asian cuisine, Försters is great German food. The waiter recommended the sides and wine to go with each dish. Take your time, try as much as you can. There's not loads of seats so make sure you book if there are a few of you.

The menu was very extensive, delicious food: a small greeting from the kitchen 👍 and a generous portion, so there was no room for dessert. And it looked so good at the next table

Outstanding and really good. Good bourgeois, like we've never experienced in vegan before. Excellent food, service and wine selection. Feel-good atmosphere. A must for every vegan, we will come back next time we are in Berlin.

I would have liked vegan dishes that didn't look like a schnitzel.

There were four of us with a vegan meal. It was Schnitzel Monday. First of all I would like to say: We three non-vegans found the food very tasty and recommended. Even as a heavy meat eater, I didn't miss anything. But I would like to mention one point: We went to this restaurant because the menu says that every schnitzel can also be ordered as a chicken schnitzel. With an additional charge of €5.50 If you have children with you who are not used to eating vegan, this is quite an alternative. Since I've already been to a few vegan restaurants, I assumed that if it said "chicken schnitzel" on the menu, that's what I'd get. Vegan restaurant or not. After the meal it was explained to me that it wasn't meat but that the chicken schnitzel was simply from another vegan manufacturer. My son (8 years old) didn't notice. So, as described above, it was probably very good. But I still think that's a deception, because on the menu the "chicken schnitzel" isn't marked with an asterisk or in any other way as a vegan alternative. If I had known that, I would have saved myself the extra charge of €5.50 or wouldn't have gone to the restaurant at all

I wish I liked it, but I simply didn’t. I loved the concept of the restaurant however both the food and the sauces just weren’t good. Bland tastes and questionable pairing of sauces with the dishes. We had high expectations but were sadly disappointed.

Very tasty dishes in a pleasant atmosphere. We came spontaneously and without a reservation and the staff still organized a table for us with good will. The vegan German dishes were super tasty....nobody missed the dead animal 😉. 10/10 recommendation!

Made a reservation to have a good vegan dinner before Moby’s gig at the Velodrome. We shared a cucumber soup and some chantarelle bruschettas. The soup was tasty and bruschettas had character. As main we both ate the sojaschnitzel. The schnitzel was crispy and tasty and the plate had good sides - potato and cucumber salads, so it wasn’t too heavy. Proper restaurant. Peaceful neighbourhood, easy to reach.

Very good restaurant, it has a different menu from most other vegan places and veganizes known German dishes. I just don’t understand why there was tiramisu on the desert menu (it didn’t taste or look much like a tiramisu). The schnitzel was the best! Also the side dishes are very good and huge portions.

That was my first visit to Försters, but not my last! I had a three course meal with wine pairing and the food was brought to the table very quickly. It was really very tasty and the service was very accommodating and friendly. I'm looking forward to my next visit to Berlin!

The food was good. I particularly enjoyed the side dishes and the sauce. The service was great. Very friendly and very fast. For me the ambience is rather cool/simple. It's definitely worth a visit.

The waitress brought the glasses with her fingers inside the glasses. The service wasn’t very friendly. The appetizer (cheese wedges) were okay but the portion was very small and overpriced. The Pfefferling main with Knödel was very heavy and underwhelming; the mushroom part was just mushroom cream and salt. Some of the Knödel pieces were black on one side (multiple people on the table). The price does not reflect the quality of the food unfortunately.

Vegan, feel-good home cooking and really great wines. We go to Försters regularly and have never been disappointed.

An excellently put together vegan menu. Paired with the right wines. Here too, the right accompaniment. A very tasty chanterelle/seitan dish. Everything just tasted great. The service staff answered our questions patiently. It was very nice and friendly. You felt “lifted”. We'll be back.

Food was very good, service felt like it was a bad day. Even when there were hardly any guests left, it always took a long time until she was back at our table.

Very nice place, with a completely vegan and very varied menu. Very tasty dishes (perhaps the "pork" one too much) and plentiful. The fifth star is missing due to the very high bill. An appetizer, a first course and a dessert each, with a coke and a water, 46 euros each

We had a very good time and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Good food, we were happy to be able to try some typical German food, veganised.

Loved that they had a special chanterelle menu, but I did not see a creamy chanterelle soup as an option. (Maybe the creamy chanterelles with dumplings was their version of it.) I started with the beautiful soup of the day: a cold cucumber soup that was 50% dill and garnished with well-marinated king oyster mushrooms. The nonalcoholic Riesling was a bit sweeter than I expected but still hit the spot. The grilled chicken breast (possibly seitan-based) with sautéed chanterelles and truffled mashed potatoes was delightful. But the strawberry tiramisu, although nicely presented and came with four very different fresh fruits, was not a tiramisu in the traditional sense. It’s more accurately a cream cake with strawberry sauce on top. My fault for ordering a tiramisu at a German restaurant. The staff were kind and accommodated my request for tap water and refilling it: maybe they knew I was thirsty after a hot day of museum-going. I’d love to come back for their schnitzel (regular menu) and döner (Thursday special). FYI, the Tuesday special was a club sandwich with fries.

The concept of rustic vegan cuisine really appealed to me personally. The selection of starters and main courses on the menu was clear. There was also a seasonal chanterelle menu and a summery Friday menu with or without wine accompaniment. The dishes were mostly seitan or tofu based. I chose one of the most expensive main courses, the slice of truffle and potato puree with chanterelles. Excellently prepared, although the flavor of the slice was a bit weak and the quantity was kept rather small for dessert. My companion's soy schnitzel looked extremely thin, was crispy and had the appearance of the Viennese original, even when combined with the fresh cucumber and potato salad. There was also a delicious beer that was previously unknown to me. As I said, the dessert mentioned was necessary. It was intended as a strawberry tiramisu, but was more like a small, beautifully presented cake with strawberry sauce and a fruit side dish. A pleasant end to the evening for two people. At around 80 euros for two people, it's not exactly cheap, but as a fan of everyday plant-based cuisine, I found the not-too-hipster concept very good, even if there are always discussions about meat substitutes and their naming in this context at the table. It doesn't bother me at all because most people of this time grew up with schnitzel, steak, cheese, cream and butter and habits are difficult to change. At this point we should also mention the well-known eggplant-based Vering dish, which was the cheapest dish on the menu at 17 euros. Will try this on the next visit...

Great cuisine! The team is very friendly, but we could have asked for drinks more often. The kitchen is really great, we enjoyed it very, very much! And this sensational sustainability, especially since no animal had to be tortured or killed for it! We'll be back!

High level vegan food, nice place and young guys serving. A little expensive, but worth it.

An impressive experience if you're a vegan looking for well executed "meat" dishes. I especially liked the cold cucumber soup with scallops! We also got the vegan steak and pork. These were also good, but not as exceptional flavor and texture wise as the soup. Friendly staff.

Had the BEST evening! The service was kind, welcoming and great from entering to leaving. The "chicken" schnitzel with ligonberries and side of potato and cucumber salad was amazing - I could eat it everyday. Definately coming back next time I am in Berlin! The desert was delicious too. It was not busy on a Monday evening and we did not feel rushed in the slightest. Also, the food came really quick 🥳

Incredible food! I had the vegan chicken schnitzel and it tasted incredibly good and authentic. 10/10 would eat again
