Seaside Grömitz in Grömitz

We visited the restaurant on September 22, 2025, and unfortunately discovered that all the indoor spaces were occupied. We were seated outside. Unfortunately, the heaters weren't yet in use, with the explanation that they wouldn't be until autumn, even though autumn begins on September 1. Given the outside temperature of 12 degrees Celsius, it was quite chilly for the guests outside, which meant that everyone ate in thick jackets, which spoiled the overall experience. The food itself, however, was of excellent quality, and the schnitzel platter for two is particularly recommended.

The reception was unfriendly and very brusque. The staff's attentiveness was okay. The food was delicious and plentiful. Otherwise, it's a nice restaurant with a great view. The restrooms are clean.

It's a shame you can't give negative stars. I had booked a table for five people for my birthday four weeks before the date on August 30th, and the reservation was confirmed. On the day of the birthday dinner, the restaurant canceled the table at 10 a.m. When I pointed out that no restaurant would accept reservations for five people on a Saturday during peak season, I was simply told to write an email and then I would receive a voucher. I received no response to two emails, neither an apology nor a voucher. The birthday was over. The restaurant industry is always complaining that guests don't keep their reservations, and then they themselves breach the contract like that. Sorry, but that's not what hospitality looks like; they're obviously not interested in guests, who often come out of season.

Our first evening at Grömitz Beach. We received a warm welcome and were able to choose a table. The service staff was very friendly, and the drinks arrived promptly. The menu is thankfully not overly extensive; there's something for everyone, and you can quickly find your favorite dish. The food was freshly prepared, which was clearly noticeable and especially noticeable. We were very satisfied and will definitely be back.

A dreamy and beautiful place to eat. I felt so comfortable. Every member of staff treated you with respect and as an equal. Big, really huge, praise to the boss and the team. Thank you for everything. I can only warmly recommend you. The taste is beyond words. I will be back.

The food (1x schnitzel, 1x pasta with turkey strips) was delicious and nicely presented. The service was 1*, fast, very friendly, and accommodating.

We were there around lunchtime on a Wednesday and sat in the covered outdoor area. The food and the location were really good. However, we were a bit surprised by the obviously bad-tempered female waitress 😅 Two other colleagues were friendly, though.

A restaurant with a fantastic atmosphere and a beautiful sea view. But that's about it. We've loved eating at Seaside several times during our vacation for years. We made reservations by phone for two evenings before our vacation. Unfortunately, the quality has declined considerably this year. We didn't like it at all this time. My husband's schnitzel was comparable to that of a run-of-the-mill chip shop. Frozen food from the deep fryer with 10 fries. It's been completely different in recent years. My burger was okay, but not a highlight, as we remembered the food from previous years. The waiter just served us as he walked by and slammed the food carelessly onto the table! But we wanted to give Seaside a second chance and had made a second reservation. Due to a private party, our second reservation on our wedding day wasn't canceled, and we only found out at the door that our reservation was canceled. Absolutely terrible! That's unacceptable. When booking, they even asked for a cell phone number and wrote it down. They apparently thought a call was unnecessary. We might come back next year for a drink and then decide whether to stay for dinner. For now, we've had enough of Seaside; there are many other better restaurants in Grömitz.

A lovely restaurant 😁 First of all, I deducted a star because of the condition of the restrooms 🫣 They need some attention 🤞 The food was delicious and plentiful 👌 👌 👌 the service was fast and friendly. You can sit comfortably inside or outside. My husband had herring and I had fried fish 🤤🤤🤤🤤

The four of us were happy that a table for four suddenly became available today (Thursday, August 28, 2025 - around 4:30 p.m.) (outdoor terrace) 😀. Two people had a small ice cream from the neighboring ice cream parlor, as we hadn't expected a free spot so quickly. The menus were ready, we had already chosen our options – about €100 in total – and were already looking forward to it. Then the waiter came over, saw the sundaes (almost empty by now), and said, "That's not possible with the ice cream." I asked him what the problem was, we'd love to eat/drink here, had already chosen options for about €100, and were ready to order. The waiter repeated himself: "That's not possible with the ice cream!" I asked him if everything was okay and if he wanted to forgo the €100 in revenue. He replied, "Yes, that's fine with me - please go." We got up (had to) and left. Well, what "unwritten rule" did we violate? We explained the situation—with the spontaneously free seat—right away. Why are you foregoing at least €100 in revenue because of two not-quite-finished small ice cream cones from the neighboring ice cream parlor? Best regards

Selected dishes that are all impressive. Extremely polite, attentive service and an upscale ambiance in the most central location possible in Grömitz, with panoramic views to boot. The prices, however, reflect this.

We've been there for the second time during our vacation in August. It's right on the promenade, the food is delicious, there's a large selection of children's dishes, and the staff is very friendly. The outdoor area has heaters, and the interior is very stylish!

I've been to the Seaside Grömitz restaurant several times now and have been very satisfied each time. The modern ambiance creates a pleasant atmosphere where I immediately feel at home. The service is consistently friendly and attentive, which always makes my visit a pleasant one. I'm particularly impressed by the smash burgers, which taste truly excellent. The cod, which I also tried, was also delicious and very well prepared. On my first visit, the fish seemed a bit overpriced to me, as the portions were comparatively small. However, the quality of the food and the consistently positive experience quickly made up for this impression. Overall, I've increased my rating from four to five stars, as the Seaside Grömitz has established itself as an absolute top address in Grömitz for me. I can wholeheartedly recommend the restaurant.

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ An absolutely perfect birthday! Despite the peak season, the team at Seaside Grömitz arranged a wonderful ending to my wife's birthday at such short notice. We were there with friends and received a warm welcome from the very beginning. The table was beautifully set, which gave the evening a very special touch. The staff were consistently extremely friendly and very attentive, and the food was, as we've come to expect, simply perfect. The taste and quality were once again an absolute delight. The value for money is unbeatable and rounds out the entire experience. If you haven't tried Seaside Grömitz yet, you're definitely missing out! We recommend you 200%. Thank you so much for another fantastic evening!

Nice atmosphere and very good food!

Very tasty food, a good and manageable selection, and a great atmosphere right on the spa promenade with a view of the Baltic Sea. We'll be back!

The server was very knowledgeable about gluten. I had the bacon-wrapped pork medallions, which were delicious. Without a reservation, we managed to get a seat on the terrace in the evening after a five-minute wait. Highly recommended for anyone with gluten intolerance!

A plaice from the deep fryer. The ham cubes on top, also deep fryer-style. The plaice would have been fine if the preparation had been correct. SUGGESTION: Discard the deep fryer and retrain the chef.

It was delicious and highly recommended. During peak season, you should make a reservation in the evening.

The food is generally good, but also relatively expensive. This, of course, also has something to do with the restaurant's location. Otherwise, I can't say anything negative.

Very tasty, would love to come again

We had reserved inside! When we arrived, the weather was better than expected; the outside was only half full! We politely asked the waiter if we could move from inside to outside, as there were still plenty of seats available. The waiter then became rude and told us that wasn't possible, that inside was booked, and if everyone did that all the time, the inside would be empty. All understandable, but not when there were still so many seats available outside. He spitefully denied it, told us I wouldn't be allowed to make reservations next time, remembered our name, ran to our seat, threw the menu on our booked table, and left! We had never experienced anything like that before. Another waitress then tried to apologize for him. She was very nice. But that kind of welcome at the door was unacceptable! The food was very delicious. But for us, because of this cellar, a never again...

Very nice staff and very good food

Four of us were there in the evening and had reserved a table. When we arrived and asked if we could sit outside, we were told no; only guests who hadn't made a reservation are allowed to sit outside. When I then said I didn't think it was okay, I was referred to another waiter. He apologized very politely and said it was an order from above. Sorry guys, there were several tables free outside, and holding them up to guests who hadn't made a reservation is completely unacceptable in my opinion. The taste and service were great, but the reservation policy should be revised. So, if the weather is nice, it's best not to make a reservation and try to get a table on the off chance.

The food was okay, but not breathtakingly good. Given the price, we would have expected a bit more. Not that it wasn't good, but it wasn't exceptional.

Back in Grömitz, our first time at SeaSide... We followed the reviews and tried something "new." We already know a few restaurants in Grömitz. My expectations were "normal." But I have to say that everything at SeaSide was top-notch, and I agree with the very good reviews. - Service - fast and attentive. - Food - incredibly good. - The price was reasonable, and I was happy to pay it because it was just right. - Top location on the pier. - Great view if you get a seat near the window. Next time I'm in Grömitz, SeaSide will be back on my "to-eat" list ;-) If there's only criticism, it's the menus, which were a bit tattered – but I can live with that; the rest has to be spot on, and it was. Tip: During the season, you won't be able to go without a reservation, but that should be clear from the reviews. :-) Anytime again - great - keep up the good work. Best regards from Hesse

The food here is top-notch and of excellent quality. Unfortunately, we had some issues with our waiter. Of the five drinks we ordered, two were forgotten and two were incorrect. After we tried to have a friendly chat with the waiter, we were not treated kindly and were initially denied a look at the bill before paying. A shame given the lovely atmosphere.

You come by with several people and have to leave the table because you don't want to eat anything. The store doesn't get any money from me.

We celebrated our wedding at SeaSide in May. From the registry office on the pier, we went straight to SeaSide to celebrate. It was a truly perfect day. The team accommodated all our requests, the food was delicious, and the service was perfect. Everyone felt very comfortable; the team worked together and was organized. Empty glasses, plates, etc., were immediately cleared away. The staff were all very friendly, open, and welcoming. SeaSide took care of a lot of the organizational work for us; the flowers were delivered, the cake was received, and everything was lovingly decorated and set up according to our wishes. From the first contact through the planning and execution of our wedding, everything was perfect. We can wholeheartedly recommend SeaSide, whether for a cozy meal with a view of the Baltic Sea or for a celebration with a view of the Baltic Sea. A huge thank you to the SeaSide team.

Friendly staff, delicious food, fair prices 👍

We had the crispy turkey schnitzel and the Seaside Burger. The food was absolutely delicious. Seasoned to perfection, the turkey was perfectly cooked; it wasn't dry at all. The fried potatoes were crispy and soft, deliciously seasoned with onions and bacon. The burger wasn't overcooked, but rather pink and juicy in the middle. We definitely recommend this restaurant.

Poor service. Uncomfortable cafeteria atmosphere. Plus, €3 for an extra small bowl of tomato sauce (for the kids' penne).

We're here for the fourth time today and have only positive things to say. The food, service, and atmosphere are perfect. Thank you for the lovely evenings with you.

I primarily visit the restaurant during the off-season. Today, June 22nd, there was a large tourist crowd, as expected. Accordingly, the staff seemed tense and only moderately friendly. The food wasn't as good as it usually is during the off-season. The fries had been in the fryer a bit too long, the medium-rare rump steak was dry and didn't seem particularly good, and overall, some of the ingredients were slightly oversalted.

For 22 euros, you get a child's portion of fried fish (3 small pieces) with fries!!! Even my husband couldn't get enough of the flame-grilled salmon with mashed potatoes, and that for 26.50 euros! Unfortunately, the worst value for money in Grömitz for us! Unfortunately, we wouldn't recommend it!

Super delicious food! It was also prepared quickly. Drinks were regularly requested. Nice service. But one star deducted for the rickety changing table! We didn't put our baby on it. The left side is already drooping, which I couldn't be held responsible for.

Excellent food. The appetizer platter is especially great. Very friendly and attentive staff.

It took about 15 minutes for the food to arrive. The schnitzel was fresh, not frozen, but not very tasty. The fried potatoes were decent, the cucumber salad was bland. Roulades were good (although small), the mashed potatoes were a bit bland, and unfortunately, the red cabbage tasted completely lousy (was there cinnamon in them?). About a third of the outdoor seating was occupied, and next to us, someone was smoking e-cigarettes, which spread across several tables. While the baby was being changed in the seating area (next to the dining guests), nothing was said either.

Highly recommended. We come to Grömitz every year and always look forward to Seaside. Very good food, pleasant atmosphere, and good service. You can sit in the covered outdoor area; fleece blankets and heat lamps are available for cold weather. The restaurant manager is very friendly and accommodating. 100% recommendation.

Wir waren dreimal im Seaside und dreimal sehr zufrieden. Alle Servicekräfte waren sehr freundlich und fix. Wir hatten sechs verschiedene Gerichte, die alle sehr geschmackvoll und ein wenig außergewöhnlich waren (in dem Sinne, dass sie von der 0815-Touristenküche abweichen). Direkt am "Touristenmagnet" Seebrücke hatten wir mit dieser guten Küche nicht gerechnet. Der Preis ist meines Erachtens angemessen (zumal bei der Lage).

Ein sehr aggressiver Mitarbeiter, scheinbar der Leiter motzt uns an, ich entschuldige mich, dass wir es übersehen haben, er knallte die Karten auf einen Tisch und ging, wir fragten, ob wir einen anderen Tisch bekommen könnten, waren einige frei, es hieß schlicht "nein" wir sind gegangen...

Top location right on the promenade. We sat on the sheltered terrace. The food was delicious and highly recommended. A big compliment to our server, "Locke." He joined in on all the fun. Overall, it was simply fantastic 👍 We'd love to come back!

Great restaurant! We always sat outside on the promenade. You have to be careful that the seagulls don't steal your food :D otherwise it was really great! It tastes so good there. It's worth it! Definitely! A really great restaurant! The waitresses are also super friendly! Only recommended!

It started when my son urgently needed to go to the toilet. Despite the sign "We are not a public toilet" we were kindly shown the toilets even though we were not yet guests. Hours later, when we were looking for a restaurant for dinner, I wanted to try Seaside because of their previous friendliness. We were 4 adults, 2 children. Paid a total of 130 euros plus tip. We had the roulades, schnitzel, fish twice and fries with nuggets for the little one. The food was hot, really tasty and the waiter was very friendly. Thanks to the big, muscular gentleman, unfortunately we don't know the name. But very friendly and accommodating, so there was an appropriate tip. Thank you for the delicious food, highly recommended!

A good restaurant with classic cuisine

We stopped here with two families, and our requests varied: from drinks and coffee to cake and even a full meal. A "café and restaurant" was just what we needed. The term "café" isn't exactly appropriate here: this place isn't really about coffee and cake. The choice was between two types of cake and the typical coffee. It's a shame! The term doesn't really describe it, but you'd expect more! The hot dishes, however, were very tasty!

A very nice restaurant located in the first row overlooking the Baltic Sea. The menu is varied and appealing. The service, while friendly, was completely unprofessional; several times, empty glasses and dishes were walked past without notice (even at neighboring tables). We had a complaint about the main course. The plate was cleared away without comment, unlike the empty plate for the other main course. When we paid, the complained dish was not charged. Basically, it was perfectly fine—again, not a word was said about it.

Fresh, delicious food, good service, nice ambience in a best location. We were there two evenings in a row and would have found delicious dishes to try on other evenings.

Unfortunately the bowl was a salad, the mix of ingredients was nothing special, there was little dressing at the bottom of the bowl. Accommodation was good.

Sehr leckeres Gericht mit Steak, Trüffelpürre und wilden Brokkoli gegessen. Dazu eine super leckere Soße. Würde ich jedes Mal aufs neue bestellen. Service sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.

The staff is generally friendly and since we have been eating dinner at Sea Side regularly on vacation for several years, the atmosphere is great. The food is excellent, both in terms of taste, selection and portions. Ambience very nice. The only downer and therefore two stars deducted: We reserved in time to get a good seat and then, while you're standing in line, the seat is changed and you're almost sitting in front of the toilet. Unnecessary and unpleasant. Unfortunately, this happens again and again with a certain employee.

The “Christmas beer garden” on the covered and heated terrace is awesome! Very cozy, delicious drinks, nice and friendly staff! Unfortunately we didn't eat anything, but we were there 3 times to "drink"! Definitely highly recommended!

Great place, great ambience, great outdoor terrace! Super cozy, especially at Christmas time, and there are very tasty drinks. However, what is not possible in my opinion is that it is tolerated there that dog owners let their pets sit on the benches, on the fur that is lying there, so that the animals also put their heads on the table and also eat from the table . I find this disturbing and extremely unhygienic. And no, it's always so crowded there that not every table is cleaned after use. That's a real shame because, as an allergy sufferer, I can't go there anymore. Tip: Bring dogs in - yes, but dogs at the table on the bench or on your lap - no.
