Schützenhof in Mönchengladbach

A wonderfully traditional pub that has retained its old-world charm even after a recent change of ownership. The new addition is that they now also serve delicious food. Consistently friendly people and excellent service!

Last night I spontaneously called and got a table for two right away – totally hassle-free. We had our pick of seats. The food (gyro plate) was delicious, and it came with a generous portion of tzatziki, not as stingy as in some restaurants. Mayonnaise was available for the fries, simply self-service. They checked on us regularly to make sure everything was alright. Drinks arrived very quickly. A charming, no-frills pub, but with German hits playing. They could even offer karaoke as an event. The other patrons at the bar were incredibly friendly; this first visit certainly won't be my last. Get well soon to the owner!

Despite being a large group, we received a friendly welcome and were served quickly. The food was delicious and reasonably priced.

The one and only true Speicker restaurant, now offering Greek and German cuisine and a selection of fine drinks (Bolten Alt and Bitburger Pils on tap, Benediktiner Weizen). All the best to Laura and Vangelis on their successful start.

We had a perfect bowling evening, highly recommended! We'd love to come back.

We were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine. Incredibly friendly service, a peaceful atmosphere near the city center. We arrived by bicycle. The food was freshly prepared, including the fried potatoes. We'll be back.
