Schützenhaus in Bernkastel-Kues

Fantastische Lage, köstliches Essen und freundlicher Service. Die Anfahrt mit dem Auto gestaltete sich allerdings etwas schwierig. Man kommt nur über die Burg, einen steilen Weg und eine Ampelanlage dorthin.

Idealer Zwischenstopp zur Burg oder auf dem Rückweg. Aber auch ein kurzer Spazierweg lohnt für die tolle Aussicht.

Ein wunderschönes Lokal, hoch oben über Bernkastel. Die Aussicht ist traumhaft. Die Speisekarte ist klein aber fein. Regionale und Gerichte mit einem niederländischen, indonesischen Einschlag. Das Essen war richtig gut. Der Service sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und empfehlen das Schützenhaus sehr gerne weiter.

Wir sind den Weinberg hoch gewandert und haben. Ach dem Aufstieg erst mal das umwerfende Panorama bewundert. Herzlich empfangen wurden wir zu unserem Tisch gebracht (wir hatten morgens angerufen). Das Essen und der Wein waren einfach klasse, Preise sind sehr fair und das Highlight war die Nachspeise, die hab ich fast weg geatmet. Gerne beim nächsten Mal wieder hier her, es lohnt sich!

Auf halbem Weg zur Burg entdeckten wir ein fantastisches Restaurant. Nach dem Abstieg von der Burg kehrten wir dort zum Mittagessen ein. Die atemberaubende Aussicht in Kombination mit dem köstlichen Essen war einfach wunderbar. Die Angestellten waren sehr freundlich und stellten den Kindern sogar Malutensilien und Malvorlagen zur Verfügung. Ich bestellte Fish and Chips, die köstlich waren. Auch die Hühnchengerichte meiner Freunde waren sehr lecker. Ich hätte dort stundenlang sitzen können. Es war so schön.

Wer den Aufstieg zu Fuß geschafft hat wird mit einem herrlichen Ausblick belohnt. Die Bedienung war super freundlich. Nur die Getränke sind, für meinen Geschmack, etwas zu teuer.

Lieben wir! Die Terasse ist der Hammer, aber auch drinnen ist es sehr schön :) Perfekt für Fotos mit Wein!

Ein echtes Highlight! Das Schützenhaus überzeugt mit richtig leckerem Essen, einer sehr freundlichen und aufmerksamen Bedienung sowie einer traumhaft schönen Aussicht. Alles ist modern und ausgesprochen sauber – man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Der Weg dorthin führt entweder über eine Treppe oder einen Wanderweg, aber genau das macht den Besuch irgendwie besonders – das Essen fühlt sich dadurch gleich doppelt verdient an 😊 Klare Empfehlung!

Spontan zum essen rein, esbgibt eine tolle Aussicht auf die Mosel und Bernkastel-Kues die Speisenkarte ist klein gehalten aber dafür ist das essen sehr gut, Bedienung sehr freundlich es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. DANKE wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

Ein sehr schöner Ort zum verweilen. Das Essen war sehr lecker und der Blick auf die Mosel wunderschön. Kann man empfehlen.

Das Schützenhaus hat eine sensationelle Lage weit oberhalb von Bernkastel-Kues. Zu Fuß kommt man über einen langen Treppenweg hier hoch. Mit dem Fahrrad ist es nochmals anstrengender. Der Weg führt mit einer Steigung von bis zu 17 % erstmal über die noch höher gelegene Burg und dann wieder steil runter zum Schützenhaus. Nur versierte Radfahrer sollten diesen Weg nehmen! Wir waren von dem Lokal angenehm überrascht. Obwohl es sehr von Tagestourismus geprägt ist, war sowohl der Service als auch das Essen wirklich sehr gut. Auch das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis hat gestimmt. Ich empfehle entweder sehr früh anzukommen oder einen Tisch zu reservieren da das Lokal sehr beliebt ist. Es wäre ja ärgerlich nach der Anstrengung des Aufstieges keinen Tisch mehr zu bekommen...

Nach einem langen Spaziergang haben wir hier etwas getrunken und ein köstliches Mittagessen genossen. Die Angestellten sind freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit, und die Aussicht ist spektakulär. Wir kommen ganz bestimmt wieder.

Wir hatten einen leckeren Wein auf der Terrasse

Wir waren in der Gaststätte Schützenhaus in Bernkastel und hatten einen richtig schönen Aufenthalt. Die Aussicht ist einfach top – perfekt, um entspannt etwas zu essen oder zu trinken. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich und auch die Bedienung durchweg aufmerksam und angenehm. Wichtig zu wissen: Essen gibt es nur auf der oberen Terrasse, unten kann man „nur“ etwas trinken – was aber bei der Lage ebenfalls absolut lohnt. Zum Essen: Ich hatte ein Schweineschnitzel mit Ofenkartoffel, meine Frau die Gräwes – beides wirklich sehr lecker und frisch zubereitet. Auch die Desserts haben überzeugt. Preislich lagen wir bei etwa 70 € für Wein, Bier, zwei Hauptgerichte und zwei Nachspeisen – absolut fair für die Qualität und die Lage. Fazit: Klare Empfehlung! 👍

Die Aussicht bei Sonnenschein…herrlich.

Für spontane Besuche von Wanderern oder Fahrradfahrern ist es nicht geeignet, da man vor leeren, aber reservierten Tischen steht und wieder gehen muss. Wenn man einen Tisch bekommt, erwartet einen Essen in mittlerer Pommesbuden-Qualität. Das Essen ist teuer und die Portionen sind klein. Der Blick ist sehr schön. Aber das reicht nicht

Unfortunately, I can't comment on the food and drinks. We were there shortly before 11 a.m. today. A few grumpy employees noticed us but didn't greet us. They ran in and out several times, but the chains to the chairs remained locked. We were noticed but not noticed! The website said it was open at 11 a.m., so we left at 11:15 a.m. We then ate and drank in town. We won't be back.

Great food with a fantastic view. Of course, everything leans a bit towards simpler fare, but it's consistently delicious. Highly recommended for a midday snack. A little reward after the climb and castle tour.

We stopped there for a coffee break while strolling through the vineyards. The view from the terrace is fantastic and invites you to linger. The staff is very friendly.

NO STAR FOR NOTHING! Anyone who wants to reserve a table at the Schützenhaus for 6 or more people has to specify in advance what the guests will eat or consume, otherwise they won't get a table! Where does that happen? This isn't just a friendly way of saying it, it's not only disregarding the customer, the guest who provides the income for this establishment, but it's downright damaging to business. Let's remember the times of Corona, when every takeaway meal, every half cent, was vital to survival. They've long since forgotten that; they're apparently above it all. What exactly happened? A table for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday was supposed to be reserved by phone the day before, after lunch and long before the "rush" for dinner. They tried to force us to order all main courses over the phone, even though the menu wasn't clear, nor could they coordinate whether and what each of the 6 people would like to eat. Even after asking if we were staying longer and that we had two disabled people with us, we were refused a table reservation. "If you just want coffee and cake," we couldn't reserve a table. The lady on the phone simply assumed we were "consuming inappropriately." Saturday, October 4, 2025: Rainy weather during the traditional coffee hour makes it impossible to keep a table free for six people, two of whom are disabled, one of whom also has a mental disability. This restaurant would rather forgo €20 to €40 in revenue per person. You ignorant people won't get our hard-earned money! Not even on the next or the next opportunity!!! I'd rather drive 20km for a family reunion than support this customer unfriendliness with even a single cent! Addendum, October 5, 2025: Instead of showing understanding, the owner, Mr. Kronne, subsequently lectures us. The employee actually misrepresented the phone call internally. When making the reservation, I didn't mention a single word about wanting coffee and cake. I explained at length that I couldn't predict what would be served in advance for all guests. Instead, the employee assumed that this was the case and that we, quote, "had to decide on main courses" for a reservation to even be accepted. I ended the call because the lady became loud and unfriendly. I won't let them yell at me, especially not after trying to find a solution despite my initial rejection. Now that the owner also thinks he absolutely has to be right and has even accused me of insulting me, I'm happy to inform him: we happily spent a total of €297 + tip on food and drinks at another, truly hospitable restaurant. You won't see us in this life, and at least in the next! Mr. Kromme, lecture and insult others! This behavior is arrogant and presumptuous. As an entrepreneur and former retailer, I don't understand this narrow-mindedness.

A wonderful place to walk to after visiting Burg Landshut (if, like us, you have a hotel in the village) and enjoy the wonderful view with a nice glass of wine on the terrace in the sun.

A truly wonderful restaurant with a magnificent view over Bernkastel-Kues. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. I can only recommend it, and the food is also delicious. If we're ever here again, we'll definitely come back.

A must-visit if you're in Bernkastel-Kues! The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the wine selection was excellent. The view over Bernkastel-Kues is amazing and simply beautiful. It's best to check the opening hours online beforehand. Part of the beer garden is for drinks only, while the upper part and the building itself are open for dining. (The landlady explained everything clearly and was easy to follow.) Thanks for the lovely afternoon, we'd love to come back!

Good food in a beautiful location with very pleasant service. Getting there by car is a bit of a challenge, but that's manageable.

A very nice restaurant, high above Bernkastel. The climb is a bit strenuous, but it's worth it. The view is unique. The service is very attentive and friendly. The menu is small but delicious. We had the kibbelinge with and without fries. They also served it with remoulade sauce and yuppie sauce. Very tasty. We will definitely be back and are glad to have escaped the mass tourism in Bernkastel for a while.

We spent a week in Bernkastel-Kues and had dinner at the Schützenhaus, among other places. The owners and waitresses are very friendly. The view is fantastic and it's very cozy. You have to climb about 130 steps up into the vineyard, but it's worth it. If you're not so good on your feet, you should take a taxi. The menu is small but fine and offers something for everyone. We had kibbelinge (a kind of fried pork with fries) and smoked pork, sausage and Gräwes (a simple mixture of mashed potatoes and sauerkraut), and a side salad. We also had the Mega Spätlese Riesling. It was delicious 😋 Best wishes to the Schützenhaus.

A cozy restaurant with a Dutch owner, offering a beautiful view of the town and the Moselle River, reasonably priced food, and clean restrooms. The food was good and tasty. The only downside was the abundance of wasps, though we didn't see a wasp trap anywhere.

It has a pretty view all over the city, plenty of seating, good service, a decent price, and especially good food like their specialty in Dutch fried cod. Don't see any reasons not to go here when you're close. We were very satisfied.

The climb out of town is definitely worth it. We decided on a whim to head to Landshut Castle, and about halfway there, the Schützenhaus (shooting house) appeared. The view is breathtaking. The service was super friendly, attentive, and courteous. Even in the rain, it's worth it. Treat yourself to the castle, the climb through the vineyard, and the Schützenhaus (shooting house).
