Schroeder’s in Mainz

Clear selection but something for everyone. Portions big enough and really tasty! Nice staff too, what more could you want!

This restaurant is unique!! The food is very tasty 🤤 I cant describe in words ! The Girl who workshop there with curly hair and blue eyes is such nice and friendly person ❤️

We have been to Schroeders several times and are big fans. Unfortunately we were disappointed today. We waited 90 minutes for the food and then only 4 out of 5 were brought. We were not informed that it might take longer, or that an ingredient was missing from the other meal that we had forgotten. In the end, a completely different meal was brought here just so it wouldn't take as long. The wrong meal still had to be paid for and there was no money on the house. Unfortunately that was nothing today in all respects.

So the visit was nothing. Yes, it was the quarter-finals of the European Football Championship, Germany against Spain. So of course there was a lot going on. However, there were two men behind the bar and mostly one (!!!) other waitress. For all indoor and outdoor areas. It is logical that this was completely overwhelmed. No one came for the first order. After 35 minutes I went to the bar to order food and drinks (we had the menu from the neighboring table). After 65 minutes we had our first drinks. Another 45 minutes later, the food. The food (1xburger, 1xsalad) was ok. Nothing more, nothing less. Nobody came to order anymore and you always had to go to the bar. Orders were often forgotten and sometimes brought twice. But it rarely worked out right. And you had to plan 30 minutes per order. Even with bottled beer. Then football was on TV. Exciting game, a quarter-final. Extra time, 117 minutes. The message “Your device is about to switch off, please press any key” appears on the TV. All the guests shout to the bar that the TV is about to go off. Three minutes before the exciting end of the game. The shouts faded away and no one responded at the bar. 118 minutes, Germany are 2-1 behind and are running like crazy. The TV goes off! Huge shouting. An attempt was made to turn the TV back on, until the game was over for 7 minutes. You can't make it up. When paying, the waitress said the bill would be 79 euros. You're not really happy with the evening, you only tip 4 euros, which makes 83 euros. After a few seconds you calculate the items again based on the menu and it only comes to 73 euros. This is immediately complained about to the waitress. She claims that she also said 73 euros. There was even a gentleman standing next to me who also had 79 euros. I'm not even suggesting she did it on purpose. I think it was a slip of the tongue or due to being overwhelmed. Nevertheless, the guest is then portrayed as if the mistake was his. As if I would tip 10 euros (almost 15%) if I wasn't happy. The 10 We were then refunded euros, but an aftertaste remains. Needless to say, we won't be visiting here again.

Good food and indeed friendly service

Great ambience. Cool music. Very nice service staff. We felt very comfortable... actually like we were at home... and went back for a quick visit every evening. Schnitzel and Pinsa mega. Olivia's laugh is a heart opener. Keep it up .... If we are in Mainz again, we will definitely come back.

The schnitzels are very good! Unfortunately the drinks prices are almost outrageously expensive! About €6 for a wheat beer? My pain threshold has been reached and people drink less than they actually would if the price were normal. With food and 2 drinks you can quickly reach 30€, but you can eat much more upmarket elsewhere. Service staff is very nice.

Nice people and food and music and everything. I'll be back in Mainz next week and maybe on Thursday for an aperitif at Schroeder's ;o)

Chic and rustic pub or restaurant. Some 80s flair ;). Service was very friendly and accommodating. Food was very good! Watch a little football and chat at the same time! Excellent !

Food is great, beer is too expensive in my opinion

Four of us ate here on March 23, 2024. The food itself was quite good (except for the currywurst, which was quite dry). The shop was busy and yet there was only one waitress. So the drinks took quite a long time. Unfortunately, we were charged for food and drinks from previous guests (card payment). I didn't notice this right away because we ordered without looking at the prices. Since we were surprised at the high total amount, I approached the waitress and asked for the difference to be refunded in cash. This was apparently not possible and after the waitress spoke to the owner over the phone, the money was supposed to be refunded the next day via real-time transfer. Surely something could go wrong, but I agreed to the plan in good faith. Even after 3 working days and contacting us again by email, we have not received any money back. Apparently there is a system to this behavior. So be careful!

Even after the second visit, I just can't warm up to Schroeder's. But for a quick beer it's okay.

You ask yourself what that was supposed to be, wanted and not able to...we accidentally made a reservation for dinner here, ended up in a pub and for a long time it was unclear whether there would be something to eat or not. Service and ambience poor, food was so-so. If you're looking for a pub to drink beer, this is it!

Really a very nice and cozy bar. We were there for the first time on Friday and felt so comfortable that we went back straight away on Saturday! Drinks and food are available to suit every taste. Happy to come back!

Absolutely does the rating justice. Great food and incredibly fast and friendly service. And a good price/performance ratio for the quality. I'll come back on my next visit to Mainz.

Nice cozy pub, schnitzel and pinsa are ultra-tasty 😋, absolute recommendation! Unfortunately, the nachos weren't at all, the bone-dry cheese between the nachos stuck everything together so that you only ever got fragments, and the taste was also boring.

Absolutely underground! I can't explain how the good reviews here come about. Beer is stale and warm, probably because you only receive it 20-30 minutes after ordering. The food came in 3 stages, the first dish after 60 minutes, the next after 80 and the last after over 100 minutes, but only after repeated requests. Sitting comfortably together and eating something together is not possible. The taste was okay, but the price/performance ratio wasn't quite right. Update: the dish, which by the way only came after 120 minutes and was cream schnitzel with fries instead of onion schnitzel with fried potatoes, was on the house after negotiations as well as a round of drinks. Doesn't change the situation, but at least it's a fairly fair concession

Hervorragendes Schnitzel - insbesondere das Schnitzel Caprese (Schnitzel mit Mozzarella und Tomate überbacken) ist ein absolutes Meisterwerk in meinen Augen, sehr gemütliche Atmosphäre. Angemessener Preis. Bedienung war freundlich, die Speisen und Getränke wurden schnell gebracht. Absolute Empfehlung meinerseits.

Wir waren mit einer großen internationalen Gruppe hier essen. Es schmeckte allen (Amerikanern, Argentiniern, Österreichern, Indern, Spaniern, Deutschen, Kolumbianern) sehr sehr gut. Der Service war freundlich. Die Karte ist angemessen klein und es die Gerichte werden frisch zubereitet. Man hört im Restaurant sogar, dass die Schnitzel frisch geklopft werden. Es ist für jeden etwas leckeres dabei.

Bedienung war sehr nett und auf Zack. Das Kalbsschnitzel mit Pommes hat sehr lecker geschmeckt. Ambiente ist eher Kneipen Stil.

Leider war die Musik etwas laut und die Handtücher auf der Toilette aus.

Nette Leute, gutes Essen und faire Preise. Klare Empfehlung.

Unser Besuch bei Schröder's in Mainz war ein echter Genuss! Das Schnitzel, das wir dort gegessen haben, war außergewöhnlich gut zubereitet - zart, knusprig und voller Geschmack. Die Auswahl an Gerichten ist beeindruckend, und es gibt für jeden Geschmack etwas. Das gemütliche Ambiente und das freundliche Personal tragen zu einem rundum gelungenen Erlebnis bei. Wir können Schröder's uneingeschränkt empfehlen und werden definitiv wiederkommen, um noch mehr von ihrer köstlichen Küche zu probieren!

Gemütliche kleine Kneipe mit Außenbereich. Gute Getränkeauswahl und kleine Speisekarte mit rustikaler Küche.

Das Schroeders ist gemütlich und der Service war echt gut. Das Essen war lecker. Leider war die Soße etwas dickflüssig und schmeckte nicht besonders. Vielleicht hatte der Koch nen schlechten Tag. Passiert.

Ich war das erste mal da. Ich muß sagen es lohnt sich zu 100% das Lokal zu besuchen. Das Essen war mega gut!!!!

Wir besuchten mit vorheriger Reservierung das Restaurant. Die anwesendes Kellnerinnen waren beide sehr nett und freundlich. Nach einer etwas langen Wartezeit (knapp 80 Minuten), bekamen wir unser Essen. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet lecker, heiß und frisch - die Portion top (auch wenn sie Salat- Bouquets unterschiedlich auf jedem Teller waren). Das Ambiente erinnert eher an eine Bar/Kneipe und überrascht dann umso mehr mit der guten Speisen. Für das schnelle Abendessen eher nicht geeignet, aber für einen netten Abend (wenn man Zeit hat) wirklich toll. Auf Grund des „Bar“- Flairs, hätte eigentlich nur noch ein Shot nach dem Essen aufs Haus gefehlt um alles abzurunden. Wir kommen wieder.

Solides Kneipenessen zu fairen Preisen, solider Service, alles unkompliziert und im Außenbereich auch gut mit Kind und Kinderwagen machbar. Geht eigentlich immer.

Wir mussten etwas länger darauf warten bestellen zu können und Getränke würden bei der Bestellung vertauscht

My favorite restaurant / bar in Mainz! Good food, great staff, with a nice terrace for the spring and summer. Plenty of TVs inside for watching Bundesliga matches, too.

Leckeres Essen, tolle Atmosphäre und gute lage - ABER: wir haben zu lange auf unser 2. Bier gewartet, saßen vor leeren Gläsern, die (ansonsten sehr nette) Bedienung lief paarmal an unserem Tisch einfach vorbei und war entweder mit sich selbst oder anderen Gästen beschäftigt. Das kriegt ihr besser hin!

Lecker gegessen,schönes uriges Lokal, das war am Karfreitag, hatte am Ostermontag online nochmal reserviert, war aber geschlossen, sollte man im online Buchungsportal dann auch so einstellen das man nicht unnötige Wege in Kauf nehmen muss,wir standen vor verschlossener Tür obwohl die Buchung bestätigt war, ärgerlich. Berichtigung: Liebes Schröders Team, Entschuldigung,....hab mich vertan, das war Ostersonntag, sorry.

Super! Potentielle Stammkneipe. Der Flammkuchen Käse-Kartoffeln ist überirdisch gut.

Wir waren jetzt zweimal dort und haben einmal das Schnitzel und einmal den Burger probiert. Beides war sehr lecker! Freundliches Personal, große Portionen und angemessene Preise. Absolute Empfehlung!
