The food was very good; everything was perfect. I had a Frankfurter schnitzel with fried potatoes and green sauce. It also came with a side salad. Everything was delicious 😋. The service was also very good. The ambiance was also very nice 👍.

The food was okay, but everything was a bit overpriced. The atmosphere was great.

Authentic German dining experience

If like us you love German food, you must not miss this excellent resturant in Bad Homberg. The resturant oozes character full of old historic carpentry equipment. The service was very friendly and efficient and they offered an English menu. Fantastic quality food which took me back to the German resturants of the 50's & 60's, which is near impossible to find these days. Don't miss this resturant!

The old carpentry shop in its old, former building, with its pretty, old facade, the old utensils on the walls, workbenches as tables, and above all: great food! Anyone who comes here immediately feels at home. The menu offers a variety of options without being overwhelming. And while you wait for your food, you can let your eyes wander and admire the tools on the walls. They and the rooms could certainly tell stories. If you're in Bad Homburg, leave all the fancy stuff behind and turn onto Audenstraße, but be careful not to walk past the carpentry shop. And then it's time for delicious green sauce, fried potatoes, a delicious schnitzel, or a carpentry burger; alternatively, handkäs' (traditional cheese) or Mett (meat and bread). Anyone who's been here once will surely be happy to come back.

A very nice restaurant with a very original decor, creating a cozy atmosphere. The tables are made of old workbenches, and various carpentry tools hang on the walls everywhere. You don't know where to look first. The staff is very friendly and offers good service. The food is very tasty and plentiful. The consistency of the sauce for my steak was too thick for me personally, although the flavor was good. I can recommend it without hesitation; it won't be our last visit.

Beautifully decorated both inside and outside. The service is prompt. The menu is straightforward. Solid food (don't expect too much) at reasonable prices.

A good restaurant with German cuisine, located in the city center within walking distance of the castle and the main attractions. Over time, the prices have become high and the portions smaller. For example, they no longer serve salad with the main course. But otherwise, the interior is always authentic and the beer is fresh. There is an underground parking lot a few minutes' walk away under the Maritim Hotel.

Quiet, beautiful restaurant with delicious food in the lovely hamlet of Bad Homburg. Authentic german cuisine with quick and attentive service. Highly suggest outdoor seating if you can, as well as the jager schnitzel and Apflewein!

The restaurant is an old carpenter's workshop so the location is atmospheric and amazing, the service is great with friendly well trained waiting staff.

Yesterday, I went to the Schreinerei with two friends for the first time in a long time, and it was simply fantastic! The service was simply perfect, and the food was excellent. We didn't have to wait more than 20 minutes for our food. It was quite relaxed there last night. We've seen it differently, and the service was always great. We'd love to come back.

Today we ate at the Schreinerei again after about a year. Why? Because we were really impressed with the quality of the food the last few times. I ordered a Jägerschnitzel (I've ordered it several times before) and my wife had the burger. With the schnitzel, I thought it was deep-fried and it was dry. And the sauce was very creamy and without much flavor. My wife's burger was a frozen patty, and the bun was also a cheap wholesale product. But with the burger, I can understand that because for €8.50, you can't expect more. Why am I writing this review? (This is the second Google review in my life) I got diarrhea, and it was not without its problems. Either the fat in the fryer was old or the cream sauce was rancid? I don't know the reasons for this drastically negative development, but we will definitely never return to this old, and until not so long ago, great, traditional restaurant.

Great food! Service flop! I visited here again today during my visit to Bad Homburg. The restaurant is really beautiful and has a great atmosphere. We received a very friendly welcome, but that was about it in terms of service. Waiting over an hour for the food is borderline. I have worked in the hotel and catering industry for over 33 years myself. I have a lot of understanding, but at some point it's enough to keep apologizing and tolerating everything. We were skillfully ignored by the service for a good hour. Surely a quick bit of feedback in between would be enough to satisfy the guest. Or something completely crazy, like asking for a second drink?! It wasn't just us who felt the same way, but the other two tables sitting inside too. The food was once again delicious and of good quality. There is absolutely nothing to complain about here. It's a shame, but ignoring empty glasses for a good 45 minutes, even though we were sitting right next to the cash register (which is where orders were constantly being taken), is unacceptable in my opinion. If you want delicious food, you're in good hands here. But you can't expect more than that. It's a shame!

We were passing through and decided to stop by the carpenter's shop. We reserved a table and were not disappointed. First, we ordered a bread and butter to whet our appetite, which was very tasty. Later, we had a hunter's schnitzel with fried potatoes and beer. Highly recommended. We felt very comfortable there and would go back if we were in the area.

Yes, the asparagus was delicious. Unfortunately, we sat outside, and it got quite chilly...but it's only May. We were given pillows and blankets. You should definitely visit if you're in Bad Homburg.

Very tasty schnitzel, nice staff and great ambience. Unfortunately, the side salad with the schnitzel has to be ordered separately and doesn't taste like a classic side salad. The burger was very simple and didn't taste particularly good. It is also very loud when there is a lot going on.

Went there on a Friday night around 9 pm, and the waitress said all the main dishes were sold out, so we ordered a mixed grill. After a whole hour of waiting, no one told us anything and no food showed up, just two beers came. When we asked again, they said the kitchen didn't take the order and was already closed. Finally they got us a cold platter with some ham and cheese. Very disappointed with the service, at least get your employees trained for taking orders and do your job seriously. This is absurd and unacceptable as a restaurant.

The waitress, an older woman with a fuller figure, was not only rude and dismissive throughout the service but also showed a complete lack of basic hygiene. She repeatedly coughed over our food without bothering to cover her mouth, making the experience both unpleasant and unhygienic.

We weren't there until after 9 p.m. on a Monday, even though there were several Christmas parties, a place was quickly found for us, the food came very quickly and was very tasty.

We ended up at the Pfeiffer carpentry shop by chance and therefore didn't reserve a table. We were offered a seat at the counter. I think those were the best places. The service from Heike and Ulf made a wonderful day in Bad Homburg an excellent end. The food was great. Always my pleasure!

I was in Bad Homburg for rehab and got a tip about the old carpentry shop. Then we looked for something because it was pretty hidden. But we were very very surprised by the food. I can only recommend the ambience, everything is SUPER👍👍👍

The ambience is exceptional, rustic, as described by many guests. Do you like it? A matter of taste. Maybe less is more? The food came quickly and didn't meet all of our expectations. The spaetzle were swimming in oil, unfortunately not crispy, but soggy. The side salad, unusually put together, but with an indefinable red sauce. The few green lettuce leaves were rather mushy. But there were tough obstacles in between. The reaction to the complaint was positive and it was not billed. Our conclusion: there is still a lot of room for improvement when it comes to the food on offer.

Top restaurant and recommendation in Bad Homburg! Rustically furnished in the style of a carpenter's shop with tables, benches and many other accessories. The food has always been delicious and great for years (before and after Corona). Typically Hessian e.g. Hessenschnitzel, Hessenburger and Schäufelchen. Also with outdoor dining in summer. Die Location ist beeindruckend und gemütlich und ein Besuch zu empfehlen. Der Handkäse mit Musik und die Schnitzel sind lecker. Ich hatte den Burger mit Käse, der war nicht so lecker: das Brötchen unten durchgeweicht und oben hart. Gurkenscheiben en masse (anstelle eingelegter Gurken?) sowie viel grüner Salat lassen den Burger mächtig aussehen. Teurer dürfte diese Variante nicht sein;-) Mit einem Schnitzel oder Eier in grüner Soße macht man nix falsch:-)
