Food not great quality, taste is off. No recommendation at all!

We made a reservation for two people here at short notice and got a place without any problems. The service was incredibly nice and very attentive! The restaurant itself is very quaint and a bit small - but we found it particularly pleasant. You feel like you're with grandma and grandpa. But it could be a little cleaner ;) The food was absolutely amazing! The Bavarian and Frankfurter Schnitzel were absolutely top! Really very very tasty! We are already looking forward to our next visit, where we will definitely bring friends with us.

Had dinner with 13 people. We were served very attentively and friendly by a dedicated waiter. The beer selection, as usual in a good brewery, varies for every taste. The food came quickly. The tasteless liver dumpling soup was disappointing and lukewarm. When I asked if I could get Maggi, there was sprinkled pepper and salt. Unfortunately this didn't improve the taste. The meat loaf we ordered tasted OK, but unfortunately it drowned in a brown sauce with an abundance of onions. Plus a fried egg that was too soft. The fried potatoes, as they were supposed to be, were probably briefly tossed in the pan and would therefore have deserved a different name. Unfortunately, the small plastic packet with sweet mustard didn't really improve the taste. Only the side salad was good. The Schäufele we ordered, a Hessian specialty, were cooked differently in terms of quality. Discussions were held at the table with the waiter and manager. The schnitzel and boiled beef were well received. Served with the “green sauce”, this turned out to be a new creation and was well received. All in all, an unsuccessful dinner for everyone. Too bad!

Spontaneous visit to the rustic restaurant. The food was convincing across the board, the rustic ambience and friendly service rounded off the evening.

I was there with a friend. We just had a drink. The waiter was extremely polite and courteous. At some point the boss was there and unfortunately the mood went bad. Unfortunately, the “business” is very noticeable to her. Unfortunately, we also noticed that they then spoke negatively about us because we only drank and didn't eat. The food looked very good! I will still give the restaurant a chance to impress me with their food. However, I would like more hospitality from the owner.

Delicious food Friendly service

Located right in front of the castle, not much space inside but there are solid wooden benches outside and additional chairs with tables on the other side of the street. We made a reservation and it worked. The food was really great and for us the best knuckle / Schäufele outside of Franconia so far 👍 There is only one service... so it can take a while... but super nice and really tried hard 👍. The hostess, a slightly older lady, very empathetic and nice. Price/performance is simply top and also very tasty beer...what more could you want!

Attractive location directly at the castle. Great selection on the menu. Very tasty food and really nice, friendly and attentive service. CONCLUSION: I can only recommend it.

In the restaurant they don't speak English and they pretend not to speak Italian. Good dishes, normal but terrible service. Menu in German with the owner who doesn't know a word in English and the "waiter" who throws plates on the table and grumbles, only to then say he speaks Italian Good dishes, but we won't be back, a little courtesy is essential.

Here you can enjoy classic German cuisine - the service is friendly and committed. Since there aren't that many seats inside, it's better to make a reservation if the weather is bad.

I can't judge the interior, just "terrace". You sit centrally and yet quite quietly. Cars passing by every now and then are only a nuisance if they have to stop briefly to let other drivers pass. Therefore one star less for ambience. However, the wooden benches and tables right next to the restaurant and the view of the park opposite give the whole thing a really nice ambience. Super friendly female service, very accommodating, no long waiting times to take the order, always asked if everything was OK. Were there with a dog. He was immediately offered water. There were 4 of us and we had different dishes. Everyone loved the food, the portions are more than enough and the salad with mustard dressing is amazing. I personally found the quality of the food to be very good and the spices perfectly balanced. We would be happy to come back.

Very loving and friendly service. We ordered a Wiener Schnitzel and a gratinated cheese schnitzel with mushrooms, each with fried potatoes. The food was very tasty and the quality was good! The schnitzel is not a frozen product (recognizable by the curling breading) and is therefore very positive (compared to other restaurants). All in all very good and recommended.

The best Haksen of my life, I ate it with the rye bread and mustard they provided, and it was so delicious that I even licked the bowl. Friendly service. The female owner speaks good English and frequently takes care of any inconveniences. I want to visit again next time

Very good place to have a nice meal. The food was very tasty and you will definitely feel full. Price performance is simply top. The people are all very friendly, especially the seniors. Definitely recommend the store. I'd love to come back and keep it up.

Restaurant with a great ambience and very tasty food. The restaurant is located in the immediate vicinity of the castle in Bad Homburg. The restaurant is cozy and rustically furnished. The menu offers starters, desert, as well as Hessian and Bavarian dishes as main courses. The Bavarian schnitzel with sweet mustard, horseradish and fried potatoes was very good. There are various beers on tap, including from the Weltenburg monastery. The employees are very attentive and nice. It is recommended to reserve a table!

Beautiful old inn, great location in Bad Homburg and great to sit outside in summer. The staff is very friendly and competent. The food is fresh and hearty.

Guuuude! Visited the Klosterschänke in Bad Homburg with great hunger and was more than satisfied with the food. On the recommendation of the waiter and the house cook, I decided on the roast lamb with potatoes and green beans in a tomato stock. The lamb was a poem and excellently prepared. The chef said,,, cooked with love! The beans are steamed and served in a broth of tomatoes, onions and pureed tomatoes. The portion was generous and if I wasn't already full I would definitely have had another helping. All in all, a recommendable dish to enjoy! Thanks to the chef! 👍🏼

Good bourgeois, would love to come back

Overall ok. I won't visit again. Service so-so. Likewise the food. It was the first time in years that I had canned Champions at a meal. That really disappointed me.

The Klosterschänke formerly a pub for football fans is now a proud gastronomic swan. This feel-good place for people with taste invites you to enjoy selected German home cooking as well as traditional Hessian and Bavarian cuisine in a cozy, elegant atmosphere. At this point, the monastery pan's gravy should be highlighted as being first-class. Absolute recommendation for guests with taste. The service is exemplary and professional. The restaurant management is neat and humorous. What more could you want on a very pleasant Saturday evening. Thank you and see you next time.

Very nice central location. Excellent service and friendly, attentive staff. However, I would have preferred fresh Bavarian spaetzle *Knöpfle* to accompany the pork fillet rather than the dry noodle-like things from the package. Whole, fresh bread dumplings with pan-fried dishes would also be tastier than just mixing the chopped chunks into the dish. Otherwise the meat and sauces are very good. A cozy atmosphere rounds off the home-style experience. We'd love to come back.

It is a very beautiful old half-timbered building, the atmosphere is very rustic but worth seeing. The food is fantastic, the service is very hospitable, the drinks are delicious and the toilets are very clean. The price-performance ratio is good. Had a good meal and spent time there and you can get to the park from there. I will recommend it to others. The restaurant has a bit of a Yugoslavian touch but is German home cooking.

Das essen am Sonntag war trocken. Gans, Haxe..Klöse verkocht, Sauerkraut lauwarm... Wir waren vor Pandemie oft da, es war viel besser. Bier, Service und Ambiente sind weiterhin Top, wg Essen muss ich nicht wieder hin. Schade.
