Very good food and friendly staff

We ate here today. The food is fresh, delicious, and very filling. You could tell the chef still cooks his own meals, without using frozen products. Superb! 10 stars. The service was super friendly. 10 stars. The location was very nice. The restaurant was well-decorated and rustic. We stumbled upon it by chance. And we were very satisfied overall.

The hotel room was clean and modern. For breakfast, there were plenty of fresh cold cuts, various egg dishes, and orange juice along with the rolls. In the evening, we ate in the restaurant. The venison goulash and the braised beef were wonderful. The staff was very friendly.

On a busy road, but with a beautiful view and super friendly, even to our dog, who was already overstimulated by the crowds at the campsite. They also helped me with my choice due to a maltodextrin allergy. It's always difficult, but they handled it incredibly well. A delicious German meal to end the holiday.

The most beautiful view of the Biggesee and always sun

I can't recommend this place at all, as the prices were very high: €5.50 for a slice of cake and €3.90 for a cup of coffee, or €4.90 for a milk coffee. That's ridiculous! Sure, the seating is comfortable and you have a beautiful view of Lake Bigge. I had heartburn for the cake.

This inn prefers to make money by reporting unsuspecting parkers who park their cars on the side of the road to go swimming. Parking there doesn't bother anyone, and it's not obvious that this roadside is private property. But apparently, the food isn't that good if they're making money this way. We will definitely never enter this café.

We went there for breakfast with some very good friends. It left nothing to be desired and was more than just a meal for little ones. It was very, very tasty. Above all, the staff were super friendly and accommodating, both to people and dogs. They were very kind people. We were delighted and are already looking forward to our next visit to the restaurant.

Top excursion destination in the Sauerland! Very friendly staff, beautiful location, and delicious food. We were able to spend a relaxing holiday here right on Lake Bigge. The menu is varied and offers a wide selection. Everything we ordered was delicious and served in generous portions at fair prices. The location is excellent for swimming in the lake or exploring the surrounding area. A trip to the Atta Cave is a must. We would especially like to highlight the friendly staff. Everyone is very accommodating, always has a smile on their face, and leaves nothing to be desired. We wholeheartedly recommend the Schnütgenhof and will definitely be back. The food was good! I still think the prices are overpriced. For example: Creamed mushroom schnitzel with fries and salad for €25. Pretty steep. Mayo costs €0.90 per bag! That's absolutely outrageous. The service seemed very annoyed. I'm used to different service. I can't say anything about the rooms.

Update: We were back here after a long time. Great. Great service, great food. Shall I tell you something? The food was really delicious. We were there on the weekend, and it was quite busy. We managed to get a nice table for two people with a view of Lake Bigge and the valley bridge, with car traffic above and train traffic below. Seriously, it's possible! Despite the crowds, the service was friendly and pleasant. We didn't have to wait long. By the way, there's plenty of parking nearby.

The price/performance ratio was a bit high, but perhaps appropriate for the region. Plenty of yachts and luxury cars, and a corresponding clientele.

The food and service were truly perfect. The chef is an artist, and the service is also top-notch! We would recommend everyone to eat there and experience it for themselves! If we're ever in the area again, this will be our first stop!

A long-established tourist restaurant with a wide-ranging, very modern menu. The service was consistently very friendly. All needs were met. The sauerbraten with dumplings was simply fantastic. One of the few restaurants still offering something like this. We would love to come back.

A beautiful restaurant with a beer garden and a view near Lake Bigge and the Listertalsperre. Be sure to stop there after your hike. Great service and delicious food. A bit more expensive, but the portions are large and the value is very good.

We ate here for our Christmas party and the roast was so delicious 😋 There were five of us here, and the vendors were great, as was the service and the view. The decor was perfect, the temperature was perfect, it was well heated, and there was plenty of parking. The glasses were filled more than at other restaurants, and the dessert was also delicious.

We stopped here for lunch today during our day trip to the Sauerland. Our first impression from the lower parking lot was great, but the restaurant and cafe upstairs immediately surpassed this. An incredibly magnificent view, directly overlooking Lake Bigge and far into the distance. Our sense of well-being was further enhanced by the super friendly service. Our drink order was quickly taken, and the menu (which is very straightforward yet sufficiently filled with a variety of dishes) was served. The food was absolutely excellent and reasonably priced. We will stop here more often from now on when we tour the Sauerland again. The dog enjoyed it too :)

We only had a drink. Great place with a view of the double bridge (cars/train). It would be worth a try to stay overnight. The menu looks very promising.

We went there for Mother's Day to eat. Large portions at fair prices. The food was very good. The hot waffle afterward was also incredibly good. The view of Lake Bigge from the terrace was also fantastic. Only the traffic spoiled the atmosphere a bit, but oh well, there's nothing you can do about it. We were there just for dinner. It was fantastic. The view was amazing, the tables were all clean. Each table was immediately cleaned after use. The service was attentive, very friendly, and welcoming. We felt very comfortable. The menu was clear and varied. From breakfast to lunch and extensive desserts, there was something for everyone. The children's dishes also left nothing to be desired. I've truly never eaten such good schnitzel. Fresh ingredients and more than enough portions. The side salad was a dream. Yes, the prices are a bit higher, but absolutely justified. We were amazed by every dish served to other guests. We'll definitely be back to try the gigantic salad plates. We're really looking forward to it.

We booked a vacation apartment at the Schnütgenhof with friends. The reception was a bit bumpy, and the gentleman who showed us the apartment seemed quite nervous. To be honest, we felt the briefing was unnecessary, as it wasn't a complicated place to stay. The apartment itself was fine, but the cleanliness could definitely be improved: The toilet wasn't completely clean; there were spiders, other insects, and quite a bit of dust in the apartment. There were a lot of cobwebs hanging on the balcony...it was hard to sit down. One negative thing, unfortunately, was that we listened to a bit of music in the evening (not loud, so you could have a normal conversation), and yet someone came by at 10:10 p.m. and gave us a rather rude reprimand. The tone was unpleasant; they even said they could hear us in the stairwell when we went in and out. We had the feeling that someone was just in a bad mood.

We've been satisfied guests for years—consistently high-quality food and drinks. And great service rounds out the overall package.

At the next tables there were only happy guests with delicious dishes... and I could have sat down anywhere.

We are camping 5 minutes away by car at the 4 Seasons campsite and since the tavern is currently closed, I looked online for us. What can I say? We weren't disappointed. Super nice waiter, price performance absolutely justified. It was a very nice stay in the restaurant for me and my dwarves and also really tasty There's even a lollipop on the plate for the children. The dessert menu also looked very good, we'll try that next time 🙏🌸

This restaurant offers a stunning panoramic view over the river and bridge — the serene surroundings make it a perfect stop to relax and enjoy a meal. There’s plenty of on-site parking, which is very convenient. While the food didn’t quite match the price in terms of taste, the location more than makes up for it. Ideal spot for a romantic dinner, especially with the view. I’d recommend reserving a table with a view in advance, especially during winter when indoor seating is preferred.

We were guests at the Schnütgenhof for a week in one of the apartments. We were warmly welcomed. Our apartment was bright and furnished with everything you need for a stay. The initial concerns about the very soft mattresses were not confirmed. "I would like to make a small point of criticism at this point. The duvets could be of better quality and, above all, the covers should fit the blankets in terms of size." The breakfast was sufficient and well prepared. Dinner was always rich and of good quality. The menu is varied and, for the large portions, the price is completely ok. The employees are all very friendly, attentive and accommodating. The hotel is very conveniently located for long hikes and bike tours. We felt very comfortable. Thanks for that!

We spontaneously went to eat here after a long hike. The service was very friendly and helpful. When a table by the window became available, we were asked if we would like to move there. I found that very sweet. The food was very tasty and the portions were very large. The price was a bit more expensive, but definitely justified for the taste and portion size. What I particularly liked was that special requests were taken into account. I asked for half a portion of dessert and that's what I got. Super sweet! The inside of the restaurant has a rustic interior with lots of small separate corners, which I personally really like. Overall, a nice restaurant with super friendly staff and delicious food. I can definitely recommend this restaurant.

We happened to be in Attendorn and stopped at the beautiful Schnütgenhof for lunch. Great panorama with a wide view over the Biggesee and excellent, fresh food at moderate prices. The service was great, fast, friendly and very accommodating, which you don't often find anymore. We didn't stay overnight, so I can't rate the hotel itself. However, we would visit the restaurant again and again!

We spontaneously went there for dinner both days on a spring weekend. We got a table inside and outside both days. It had a view of the Lister Dam. It was very comfortably furnished. The staff was very friendly. We felt very comfortable. There's plenty of free parking. The food was delicious and plentiful. The prices were perfectly reasonable. We'd love to come back and are even considering a vacation there sometime.

Wir waren für drei Nächte im Schnütgenhof. Der Empfang war schon sehr freundlich und auch das Zimmer (Amsterdam) war sauber und gut. Das Boxspringbett ist klasse und auch das Bad ist mit allem wichtigen ausgestattet und neu renoviert. Das Frühstück war klasse und auch das Abendessen war sehr gut. Die freundliche und sehr nette Art aller Mitarbeiter im Haus hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Absolut empfehlenswert sind die Windbeutel und die Waffeln.

Today we had a delicious meal on the sunny terrace of the Schnütgenhof. The salad plate, the housewife-style matjes and the Kaiserschmarrn were TOP 👍🏼. With a view of the Bigge and the colorful trees (autumn) we felt very comfortable. Thank you for the extremely friendly and nice service - everyone was quick and busy 👌.

The two of us and our dog spontaneously went to the Schnütgenhof Cafe after a walk around the dam and immediately found a place and were served very nicely. The apple strudel and cream puffs were delicious and we didn't have to wait long.

We were invited and haven't visited Hsus for almost 40 years. We were all the more pleasantly impressed by the service and price-performance ratio. We can only recommend the Schnütgenhof.

We have been regular customers at the restaurant for years whenever we went on trips in the area. After a year-long “break” we returned there on Sunday. We ordered ketchup and mayo with our schnitzels. We were each served a small plastic bag with our food. Because this wasn't enough for the amount of fries we asked for more. We used a total of 9 bags. The mountain of plastic packaging waste next to us was correspondingly large. Certainly more hygienic than a bottle, but anything but sustainable. And this in times when plastic straws and other small plastic parts are rightly on the decline... The rude awakening came with the bill. Eur 0.90 was charged per bag. So a proud 9 euros! When we asked the waitress, the only answer we got was: it says so on the menu. Yes, it does, but with the children's meals! See pictures of the map. We think it's totally legitimate that you get charged for ketchup and mayo. But not per bag and then a hefty EUR 0.90 for this little blob of “seagull shit”. Unfortunately, we don't have any photos to prove this because the rude awakening only came with the bill. When we told the waitress: of course she couldn't do anything about it, but that it was misleading and we felt it was a rip-off, we received the answer with an annoyed expression: everything was fine. We couldn't look that quickly because the waitress was already gone. Apparently not the first time this discussion has been had. We will switch to other restaurants in the future!!!

Had 5 nights in this hotel. Super location with a view of the Biggesee. Very friendly staff who are always there for you. Breakfast was fine and dinner in the restaurant was also good. During our stay, all the wicker chairs on the terrace were replaced by more modern ones. These fit fine.

The schnitzel was tasty, but a little dry for my taste, but I really liked the mushroom sauce for the schnitzel. There were several of us and everyone liked the lunch, I recommend a visit!
