Schnütgenhof Panorama-Restaurant-Café in Attendorn

We were invited and haven't visited Hsus for almost 40 years. We were all the more pleasantly impressed by the service and price-performance ratio. We can only recommend the Schnütgenhof.

We have been regular customers at the restaurant for years whenever we went on trips in the area. After a year-long “break” we returned there on Sunday. We ordered ketchup and mayo with our schnitzels. We were each served a small plastic bag with our food. Because this wasn't enough for the amount of fries we asked for more. We used a total of 9 bags. The mountain of plastic packaging waste next to us was correspondingly large. Certainly more hygienic than a bottle, but anything but sustainable. And this in times when plastic straws and other small plastic parts are rightly on the decline... The rude awakening came with the bill. Eur 0.90 was charged per bag. So a proud 9 euros! When we asked the waitress, the only answer we got was: it says so on the menu. Yes, it does, but with the children's meals! See pictures of the map. We think it's totally legitimate that you get charged for ketchup and mayo. But not per bag and then a hefty EUR 0.90 for this little blob of “seagull shit”. Unfortunately, we don't have any photos to prove this because the rude awakening only came with the bill. When we told the waitress: of course she couldn't do anything about it, but that it was misleading and we felt it was a rip-off, we received the answer with an annoyed expression: everything was fine. We couldn't look that quickly because the waitress was already gone. Apparently not the first time this discussion has been had. We will switch to other restaurants in the future!!!

Super friendly staff who served us delicious coffee and cake. The portions were really generous. The view from the terrace was very nice, a bit noisy but not really annoying.

The hotel is very nice. Our room was extremely clean - exactly how you would want it!! The service in the dining area was unbeatable. She served us all by herself in a friendly, quick and courteous manner. Overall, the hotel is in a nice, quiet location, but unfortunately you can hear cars driving past on the local street at any time of day. What a shame!

Insanely good spit roast. I haven't eaten so well in a long time. Big compliment to the kitchen. So tender and large portions. The rest of us had catfish fillet and dumplings, just as well prepared and plentiful. Nice service, very friendly.

Had 5 nights in this hotel. Super location with a view of the Biggesee. Very friendly staff who are always there for you. Breakfast was fine and dinner in the restaurant was also good. During our stay, all the wicker chairs on the terrace were replaced by more modern ones. These fit fine.

Coffee and cake are delicious. The building is a little dated and could use an update. Otherwise nice view of the Biggesee.

We found the restaurant by chance, we came to see Lake Biggesee and the surrounding area, a very beautiful view from the observation deck, it’s a high climb, but we didn’t regret having to overcome such a height, it’s breathtaking from the beauty of nature, I recommend visiting this place. We decided to have lunch and found this restaurant. We chose tables outdoors, under an umbrella, we were served quickly, we liked the salads, they have a very tasty sauce and seem to be simple in composition, but you can feel the experienced hand of the cook, very diverse flavor shades give the salad a piquant taste. The schnitzel was tasty, but a little dry for my taste, but I really liked the mushroom sauce for the schnitzel. There were several of us and everyone liked the lunch, I recommend a visit! Oh, how I would like to get a recipe for salad sauce) I lowered the rating a little, since it is difficult for disabled people with a stroller to visit such a restaurant; there are stairs to go to the toilet, there is no ramp

We had a warm welcome. The staff was kind enough to carry my suitcase upstairs. We were on the first floor. There is no elevator. It is a spacious room with a large balcony. We had a beautiful panoramic view. The towels smell wonderful. There is a standard in the room with brochures/information about various excursions. The information folder is outdated. There were stickers on the inside of the door which looks very cheap. Shame. No coffee or tea making facilities in the room. However, a minibar without contents. There is a poor WiFi connection in the hotel. The restaurant closes at 8 p.m. and the staff goes home. We found this very unfortunate. A nice snack and a drink was not an option after 8 p.m. We were also given a key to the back entrance. The toilets downstairs are super school and it smells wonderfully fresh. The restaurant has a friendly, authentic German atmosphere. The food is not cheap but you get very large portions. Outside there are many seats on different levels. It is spacious. There is no buffet for breakfast, but you can indicate what type of egg you want. There are also sandwiches and sweet toppings as well as savory toppings on the table. This is also more than sufficient. Actually too much, I would almost say. The staff is exceptionally friendly. Nothing was too much. We arrived on Monday but on Tuesday and Wednesday no one had come by to clean the rooms and replenish any toilet paper etc. On Wednesday we indicated that we still needed some things because it had run out. This was done immediately, but we found it strange that this had not been addressed. We booked two more nights because this was our last stop before we went back to the Netherlands. Even in those days there was no one to prepare the room. The price was not very cheap and that is not a problem, but if it is not cleaned/refilled then that is a mistake. It is a nice location for excursions in the area.

Overall, a very nice place to relax for a few days.

We had a very, very good meal here today. The schnitzels are very tasty, the portions are very large, the side salad is very large and with a very tasty sauce. The service is quick and very friendly. Dogs are welcome inside and outside on the terrace. 5 stars, we'll be back.

Great service, very fast but also patient (super child-friendly) The dishes were served quickly, were hot and very well seasoned for our taste. The restaurant is located on a slightly more busy street, which also has a train line running along it. But that wasn't a problem for us. 😉 All in all very recommendable.

Haven't been to this restaurant for a long time. The prices have been increased to such an extent that we can no longer accept it. It is very loud outside due to the traffic and trains. It's a shame, we used to love going here.

Very friendly staff and good food

My husband and I went to this restaurant yesterday...for the first and definitely not the last time. It starts with the location. You have a great view of the surrounding area. It's very relaxing there. And now for food: He had cheese spaetzle and I had game goulash... I could have sat in...it was that delicious!! The portions were more than generous...the game goulash was very tender...very well prepared. I tried my husband's cheese spaetzle and decided to order it next time. By the way, my Aperol was also delicious...the glass was more than generously filled. What the other guests had on their plates also looked great!! Guys...if you want to have a delicious meal and also enjoy a great view...then you have found a great address with this restaurant!!

We spent 4 days here exploring the surrounding area on our e-bikes. It was a very nice stay at the Schnütgenhof, there was a great, rich breakfast and the food a la carte was also very tasty and reasonably priced. The service, a young, very committed team, was very courteous and friendly. The room was clean and quiet, the furnishings were a bit dated, but since the weather cooperated, we were only there to sleep anyway. We'll definitely come back.

A nice restaurant with a large terrace and a beautiful view of the dam. The food is great and varied, the service is always friendly. The prices for the food are appropriate for today's times. Due to the location, it is often a bit windy on the terrace. But you have to expect that. There is a large parking lot at the restaurant and a well-kept and free (!) swimming area with toilets below.

Very nice hotel with a nicely furnished apartment! (New York) The breakfast was delicious! The dinner was very good and the portions were absolutely sufficient even for good eaters! The service staff was always nice and attentive even though we were the only guests on the terrace! We'd love to come back!

Wir haben dort übernachtet.Die Zimmer ( unser hieß London) Sehr groß, Boxspringbett,tolles Badezimmer mit Dusche ,schöne Größe ,da können sich zwei Leute aufhalten.Toller Balkon,mit Sitzgelegenheiten,Blick auf den Biggesee.Frühstück sehr reichlich ,auf Wunsch ,Spiegeleier,Rührei oder gekochtes Ei,Kaffee im Kännchen ,Tee usw. War hervorragend.Dann waren wir zu 15 Personen , essen.Super freundliche Bedienung,man fühlte sich super aufgehoben.Das Essen war Klasse,Nicht zu große Speisekarte.Sauerbraten( hatte ich ) war sehr lecker.Der Wildgulasch war auch super.Wir werden auf jeden Fall nochmal sehr gerne kommen.Wenn es 6 Sterne gäbe ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, Perfekt. Ich freue mich auf das nächste Mal.👍👍👍👍

Here we were able to relax on the sun terrace and enjoy a large coffee and the excellent warm apple strudel.

We were just here for coffee. Once a waffle (22cm) with hot cherries, 1x Kaiserschmarrn, a pot of coffee and a cappuccino... very generous portion in nice weather and a great view... Was very nice! I can definitely recommend it up to this point.

Rooms cannot be assessed as we were only in the restaurant. Everything was great there. Friendly service and good food. What more do you want.....

Came across it yesterday by chance; as a group of 12 people were looking for a delicious restaurant on the Biggersee, where there was also enough parking space for our US cars. One of us had previously called and made a reservation there, but unfortunately the reservation was made inside. Of course we wanted to sit outside in the nicest weather and waited obediently until a service person came to greet us. The suggestion/request to put four tables together in a row was met with a groaning and unfriendly response, but the tables were put together and we were able to spend a lovely afternoon together as a group. I would have imagined hospitality differently! The rest of the hospitality, food and drinks were courteous and at the end there was some joking and laughter with the service staff. The dishes were all very tasty and are definitely recommended! The location of the restaurant is perfect, you have a beautiful panoramic view of the Biggersee and it is very, very remote and quiet to stop off at. There are enough parking spaces and there are enough!

We were only there to eat. I haven't eaten so badly in a long time. Bread dumplings from the cooking bag. Canned mushrooms. Sauce was an instant sauce. Very bland in taste. You have to pay €20 for this! Potato salad was sweet! Probably from a bucket. All in all, grade 5!

Das schlechteste Schnitzel was ich jemals gegessen habe. Aufgrund der gehobenen Preiskategorie waren unsere Erwartungen entsprechend und wurden sehr enttäuscht. Drei Freunde hatten dasselbe Gericht und waren sich einig, daß dieses ein Fertigschnitzel der untersten Qualität war, welches auch noch schlecht zubereitet wurde. Wir waren uns einig: Nie wieder!

Wir haben m Freitag 1.12.23 und am 2.12.23 unsere standesamtliche Hochzeit dort gefeiert! Wir können nur positives sagen! Tischdeko, Freundlichkeit, Preislich, der Ausblick fantastisch einfach alles TOP. Das Essen war super mega toll! Die Spieleecke wurde ebenfalls super toll genutzt, suoer das es sowas gibt! Unsere Trauzeugin hat ebenfalls 2 Nächte dort gebucht und war vom Zimmer bis zum Frühstück einfach nur zufrieden! Hier wurde ebenfalls auf alle Wünsche von Ihnen, bezüglich Uhrzeit und Co Rücksicht genommen! Es wurde auf alles geachtet, so dass wie komplett Zeit hatten uns auf unsere Gäste zu konzentrieren! Wie können den Schnütgenhof nur empfehlen und kommen gerne wieder!

Zum Zimmer können wir nichts sagen. Wir waren hier heut Abendessen und das spontan. Rinderschulter geschmort & Welsfilet ... herrlich mit den Beilagen & zusammen Stellung. Kaiserschmarrn & Apfelstrudel. Freundliche Bedienung und der Koch & sein Team kann was.

Wundervoller Ausflug an den Biggesee. Abendessen trotz voller Terrasse super lecker und frisch. Sehr nette und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Zimmer sehr schön, hatten eines mit Seeblick :-). Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Am zweiten Morgen wurde das Frühstück auf uns angepasst gebracht, weniger Salami und Wurst, mehr Gurke, Tomate, Käse usw. Fanden wir richtig toll 😊 Das die Küche um 20 Uhr schließt fanden wir nicht so schlimm. Essen sehr lecker und reichlich! Kommen sehr gerne wieder! Zum wandern perfekt gelegen.

Wir waren heute Abend als Familie mit einem 3 Jährigen so dort zum Essen. Alles war super herzlich und freundlich. Für kleinere Kinder gibt es sogar eine spielecke! Auch die Essen waren super! Große Portionen und geschmacklich ein Traum!

Wir waren auf Kurzurlaub für 3 Übernachtungen hier. Hatten ein Komfortzimmer mit Seeblick gebucht. Zimmer schön, Sauberkeit top👍. Tolle Aussicht. Bemerkenswert kein Teppichboden, top👍. Frühstück lecker und reichlich. Haben dort auch zu Abend gegessen, sehr lecker und große Portionen. Hervorzuheben ist aber auch die Freundlichkeit des Personals, supernett, stets bemüht, auch bei Sonderwünschen. Absolut tolles Team. Vielen lieben Dank an das ganze Team für den schönen Aufenthalt.

Leider kann man bei Bezahlung mit Karte, kein Trinkgeld geben, sei denn , man hat Bargeld zusätzlich dabei. Sorry, an die nette Bedienung ich hätte gern was gegeben.

Trotz, dass einiges los war an dem Tag, war die Bedienung freundlich. Endlich mal Ofenkartoffeln mit reichlich Quark (oft hat man ja nur einen Klecks als Dekoration). Preis Leistung einigermaßen gegeben. Die Getränkepreise sind gesalzen, aber scheinbar ist das momentan bei vielen Gaststätten so.

Der laden ist uunter aller sau von höflichkeit und kundenfreundlichkeit ist hier leider nicht hängen geblieben habe selten so einen schlechten und unversämten service erlebt wie hier ich würde aus menschlicher sicht niemanden empfehen hier 1 cent auszugeben . So das leute wieder der neue inhaber auch mal merken das man nicht mit allen menschen umspringen kann wie es ihnen gefällt
