Schleusenhaus in Germersheim

We're frequent guests at the Scheusenhaus and we love the Palatinate cuisine. The entire team is super friendly, and the food is delicious. It doesn't always have to be an endless menu; what matters is the quality, and there's nothing to complain about at the Schleusenhaus. We're delighted that the new tenant, Rainer, who is also very friendly, has extended the opening hours. It's great that such places with reasonable prices still exist. The Schleusenhaus was truly fantastic during our visit from Ireland. It has a wonderful atmosphere, and the food and drinks are really good – authentic Palatinate fare – and reasonably priced. The cheesecake was the icing on the cake. 10/10 all around! We'll definitely be back next time.

I'm a big fan of NFH. But what was presented to me today as a Schleusenhaus plate for €13 is truly the lowest of the low. The young lady had trouble giving the €18 change from a €50 bill. Okay, it can happen. According to the menu, the Schleusenplatte consists of 1 liver dumpling, 1 bratwurst, and 1 slice of saumagen. Since the liver dumplings were apparently empty, I was served two bratwursts. No question about whether I wanted them or a warning that the dumplings were empty; no, the food was drowned in a brown sauce so you couldn't see that the bratwursts were completely burnt. That was the last time I stopped here.

We were there today by bike, quite by chance, for the first time...but definitely not the last. The salmon was very good, and the potato salad was delicious too! The people at the kitchen and counter were very nice. Thanks again from Offenbach.

Palatinate culture, great people and a great atmosphere. Casual conversations and children are absolutely welcome. Palatinate... We love it... baked cakes ourselves and the other food was also made with love. The prices still have to be paid but I don't want to advertise too much, I would also like to get a place in the future.

Unique location, directly affected by cycling and hiking trails, surroundings - arms of the Old Rhine, Rhine, riparian forest, meadows -, wonderful, plus a pleasant atmosphere in, on and around the house, Service quite acceptable. Two gentlemen in the counter area (self-service) were super nice, empathetic and helpful, food serving (1 - 2 women) was probably a bit stressed during rush hour at lunchtime, so a bit harsh, the loudspeaker system was a bit unstable, sometimes works, sometimes not, friendly, because you know how to help yourself. Boss? comes jumping himself.... "Food No. 37 is ready". Had zander fillet with potato salad, cucumber salad, tartar sauce, €16.50. Was very satisfied in every respect. Neighbor had bratwurst, liver dumplings, sauerkraut. The latter a bit disappointing, pale and fresh from the can? Sauerkraut is best boiled three times and lightly browned. Just like with your grandmother. But still good overall. Bottom line: even from Karlsruhe it's worth the trip here for a little Sunday family trip.

Went to eat loin on Sunday. Unfortunately the meat was lukewarm and the Spätzels were cold. But it was also full house. The self-service thing is actually a cool thing. But with these space conditions, it's more of a torture. Long waiting times for self-service.

The Schleusenhaus serves typical Palatinate cuisine with a selection of delicious dishes that will delight every palate. In addition to the traditional dishes, there are regularly changing, delicious daily specials. Rainer, the friendly innkeeper, lovingly ensures that all guests feel comfortable. The price-performance ratio is excellent. When the weather is warm, the idyllic garden behind the hut offers a perfect opportunity to take a break during a bike ride. Whether inside or outside – the Schleusenhaus invites you to enjoy a relaxing break with good food.

We like to visit the lock house in Sondernheim regularly. Somewhat remote and easier to reach by bike than by car, it is located in the Rhine meadows and directly on the cycle and farm path that connects Sondernheim and Hördt. The menu is clear and all the dishes are very tasty and also inexpensive. Those who like Palatinate cuisine in particular will get their money's worth here. Daily menu is available on Wednesday and Sunday. Pictures are from last Wednesday. Monday and Tuesday is closed. The service is courteous and friendly, although self-service is generally available, but that shouldn't stop anyone from stopping by here. In summary, a nice location, delicious food and friendly service… what more could you want. 👍😀

Today we passed there on foot in the rain. The inn was closed but we still got coffee and had nice conversations with the innkeeper. Thanks so much

It is highly recommended for a break, the menu is small but tastes very good. Each meal is available for small and large appetites.

Nice rest area on a bike tour I ate "Palatinate bratwurst with sauerkraut. The sauerkraut was very good, the bratwurst was too hard and completely tasteless (not seasoned enough for a Palatinate bratwurst). Next time I'll eat liver dumplings (I hope they're seasoned better).

Food... OK, but expensive for what is on offer. Location is good, right on the bike path. Everything is clean, nothing to complain about here. Service at the food counter was very unfriendly. Long waiting time (>30 minutes for fries and cheese bread). It's a shame, we can do more with it.

I had the Palatinate platter, the Saumagen and the sauerkraut were great, the bratwurst was good, I had better ones but the liver dumpling was too crumbly (too much rye flour, not enough seasoning, simply no taste), otherwise very pleasant.

Palatinate hut character, just as we love it, as a welcome stop on the touring tour along the Rhine, Old Rhine, biotopes and floodplain forest. Goose leg with red cabbage and dumplings, very tasty. Tarte flambée, cake, coffee, spritzer, everything is still affordable.

Liegt direkt am Rheindamm, mit dem Rad kommt man vorbei. Nettes Personal, gutes Essen, leckerer Kuchen. Und Aussicht auf den Altrheinarm. Was will man mehr?

Haben auf unserer Fahrradtour im Schleusenhaus eingekehrt.....Essen und Trinken äußerst preiswert.....da bleibt man sehr gerne länger sitzen......wir kommen sehr gerne wieder

Gute pfälzische Gerichte mit anständigen Preisen. Drinnen und draußen viele Sitzplätze. Selbstbedienung.

Wir sind auf einer Radtour hier eingekehrt. Der Flammkuchen war sehr lecker. Wir sind bei bestem Wetter draußen gesessen. Generell gilt dort Selbstbedienung, aber dies reicht der Bewertung nicht zum Nachteil. Gerne wieder im November, wenn es die Erbsensuppe gibt.

Hinsetzen. Essen und Getränke holen bzw. Essen dauert paar Minuten. Dann Seele baumeln lassen!

Ein sehr schnuckeliges und sauberes Einkehrlokal, mit Fahrrad oder zu Fuß gut erreichbar. Es ist Selbstbedienung mit einem guten System. Getränke erhält man sofort und für das Essen eine Bonnummer. Diese Nummer wird über einen kleinen Lautsprecher aufgerufen. Das Essen ist gut und günstig. Es ist reger Verkehr. Uns hat es nach unser Cachewanderung gut getan dort einzukehren. Der Mann am Tresen war sehr freundlich. Es gibt vor und hinter dem Lokal Sitzmöglichkeiten im Freien. Der Innenbereich ist ansprechend und gepflegt ausgestattet. Wir kommen gerne mal wieder. Einfache Karte mit einfachen Gerichten. Mehr Salat wäre schön, vielleicht auch öfters offen? Dennoch ein sehr schönes Ausflugsziel in der Südpfalz mit herrlichem Rheinauen-Ambiente!

Nett hier zu sitzen und eine Pause bei der Radtour einzulegen. Die Scheibe Saumagen könnte etwas dicker sein ....

Wir haben nur Kaffee und Kuchen gehabt. Aber die Speisekarte sah sehr ansprechend aus mit humanen Preisen

Sehr schöne Lage direkt am Rhein radweg. Zum Essen gibt es kleine Pfälzer Gerichte zu normalen Preisen. ( Selbstbedienung ) 🤔

Super nette Betreiber, leckeres Essen nach einer Wanderung in den Rheinauen und am Rhein. Selbstbedienung ist kein Problem da keine langen Wartezeiten für eine Bestellung erforderlich ist. Rund um eine schöne Lokalität des PWV . Ich empfehle es jedem weiter.

Für Wanderer und Radfahrer ein guter Einkehrplatz. Sehr freundliche Betreiber und lecker einfaches Essen. Auch Flammkuchen oder das Tagesessen sind zu empfehlen. Schade, dass es zum Saumagen nur Brot als Beilage gibt; mit Bratkartoffeln wäre es super!

immer gut für ein Bier oder Schorle auf der Feierabendradtour. Kleine Speisekarte, aber dafür lecker.

Nettes Ausflugslokal mit Freisitz. Gute bürgerliche Küche zu akzeptablen Preisen. Selbstbedienung. Öffnungszeiten im Vorfeld abfragen.
