We know the slaughterhouse as delicious and great. Today wasn't their day, the knuckle tasted like it had been warmed up, the dumplings were luke warm, the service was there and then gone. Dear people, make an effort, today was nothing. And I was so looking forward to a delicious mince. I'm super disappointed.

We first looked at the pig museum. Is very interesting. Service in the restaurant was very nice and authentic. If you like Swabian cuisine, this is the right place for you.

The atmosphere is harmonious, the service is very friendly and attentive. The portions are generous and the food tastes very good. I've eaten Maultaschen several times before, but never as good as here!

Unfortunately, the beef was cold on the slaughter platter.

Since the Stuttgart slaughterhouse also houses the pig museum, the atmosphere takes some getting used to, especially for vegetarians.

It's always worth a visit, the food and service are excellent. The cleanliness is also exemplary, many people can still learn something, civilized guests are a prerequisite.

We were there after the VfB game, hungry and there were traffic jams everywhere anyway. We came in just in time for the end of the day and were told straight away that if we were quick, Maultaschen with potato salad would work. All right, ordered straight away. Wow how delicious the Maultaschen were. Really good, no packaged stuff, rolled and really tasty. Thank you for your kindness at the end of the day. We also come by without a game beforehand.

We were here for a birthday party after visiting the Pig Museum. The service was excellent and communication within the team was harmonious. The birthday child received a desert on the house from the service including a serenade. The food was also very hearty, befitting a slaughterhouse, and the portions were quite large, but the quality was very good and tasty. Even if some may be put off by the prices at first, the performance on offer is worth it. We'll definitely be back.

This restaurant is not your ordinary restaurant, it has two floor worth of pig museum above the restaurant! I highly recommend to first take the tour (6.9 Euro) before having lunch/dinner if you haven’t done it. I have ordered the pork medallion, although pricey but it was worth it and fantastic! The pork medallion was cooked medium instead of well done which made the meat very juicy and easy to chew. The pork medallion was paired with mushroom sauce which blends well with the pork and very tasty. Next they have a self made crumb which was toasted with salt and pepper then sprinkled on top of the spatzle (egg noodles). The crumbs works very well with the spatzle. Lastly, the staff is very nice. 5/5 highly recommend the pork medallion!

It is a very large restaurant that can accommodate a lot of people. It is used to receiving coaches full of customers except that there is no parking space for the coaches. You have to park in Candersteg where it is paid and walk 2 km for drivers.

Wir waren 3 Generationen. Allen hat es geschmeckt und gut gefallen. Die Größe der Portionen hat zum Preis gepasst. Das reservieren konnte problemlos online erfolgen und hat gut funktioniert. I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant on September 9th, 2024 and I can only report positive things! The short-term online reservation worked without any problems, which made the first impression very pleasant. When we arrived we were warmly greeted and immediately felt welcome. The service was consistently very good – attentive but not intrusive. The food was simply fantastic! The typical brewery dishes were interpreted in a modern way and really impressed us. The price-performance ratio is absolutely right here. There are also plenty of free parking spaces available, which makes the visit even more pleasant. I can only recommend this restaurant and am already looking forward to my next visit!

Der Kartoffelsalat ist genauso schlecht wie die Bedingung. Kartoffel teilweise roh und nicht gewürzt. Im Schwabenland muss der doch "schlotzen" Die Maultaschen waren kalt serviert und schon hart, gefühlt standen diese eine Weile und es wurde lauwarme Soße vor dem Servieren darüber gegossen. Unsere Bedienung unfreundlich, kein Bitte oder Danke. Keine Nachfrage ob alles passt...usw. Sehr schade, denn die Lokation ist toll...vor allem der Biergarten auch schön groß. Unser Fazit: Einmal und nie wieder.

Pretty average overall. Good food, the place celebrates pork. Service was poor. Given it was really quiet when we went, this was a huge disappointment.

Were there 2 hours before the European Championship game and had a good place to watch. We were then sent away shortly before the game because we had to make a reservation. This could have been communicated beforehand. We are very disappointed and we couldn't find another place to look at such a short notice, which is a shame... The staff is unfriendly and the burger is expensive for €13 and nothing special.

Wir haben das Deutschland Spiel im Biergarten geschaut. Leider haben wir Plätze bekommen bei denen man keine volle Sicht auf die Leinwand hatte, da ein Ast im Weg war. Das war schon echt ärgerlich, da das Spiel der Grund war warum wir zum Schlachthof gekommen sind. Zusätzlich gab es im Biergarten als vegetarische Variante nur Pommes oder einen Salat. Beim Ausschank wurden auch des Öfteren falsche Sachen ausgeschenkt. Z.B. Weizen statt einer normalen halben oder Weißwein Schorle süß statt sauer.

Ein tolles Restaurant mit herrlichem Ambiente. Gutes Essen zu fairen Preisen. Die ukrainische Kellnerin und der junge deutsche Kellner haben sehr gut harmoniert und einen tollen Job gemacht.

About 2 weeks ago we were in the beer garden at the Schlachthof for the first time. Unfortunately not recommended for us. The outside of the knuckle was like plastic, unbitable, uncut and inside there was hardly any meat, more gloopy fat, either warmed up from the day before or simply bad from the start. The potato salad with the Maultaschen wasn't really edible either, especially not in Swabia. An indictment and a nightmare for every tourist who comes there. And it's probably not an isolated incident, because as we saw, a large group of tourists, probably from Korea, were also guests there. They obviously had Haxn and wheat beer all the time and you could see how these guests also fought with the Haxn and visibly let almost all of the Haxn go back. They must have been completely disappointed with the culinary side and thought; Is that supposed to be Germany? I don't think that left a good impression. On top of that, it's tough, a large shandy for €5.80 isn't possible, only saw it afterwards, it's your own fault, unfortunately MANY people are jumping on the so-called bandwagon to really rip off since Corona. The friendly waiter didn't help either; he gave us a good note, but he probably already took that into account:( So, in conclusion, you can't go there anymore.

Very nice atmosphere, even before a Euro game. Very attentive and friendly service. However, food was a disaster. Roasting the pork knuckle medium simply isn't possible.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal im Biergarten Schlachthof Stuttgart. Die Reservierung hat hervorragend funktioniert. Der Geräuschpegel war etwas laut, weil zu diesem Zeitpunkt viele Schotten ( EM) vor Ort waren. Das hat aber keinesfalls gestört. Das Essen wurde sehr schnell zubereitet und serviert. Alle Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich. Beide Gerichte, Schweinshaxe und Schweinebäckchen zu empfehlen. Die Lokation und das Essen würde ich weiterempfehlen.

The waitresses were all very nice and helpful. We sat outside in the beer garden. The food was good. We would definitely come again. My only criticism is that there was no gluten-free dish on the menu. The inn is not suitable for people with celiac disease. A pity.

June 2024: Very nice location with a large outdoor area. We just had a drink while "studying" the menu. We found something straight away for our next visit. We were there shortly before the end of the lunch opening. A very nice employee served us. We'll be back soon. ******************************************** Went back for dinner in mid-June 2024 and had the Braumeister schnitzel and the pork cheeks. Both were good, but nothing exceptional. Reasonably priced. The employee (trainee) served us quickly and very nicely.

Unfortunately I have to give one star, but it's not even worth it. Food was terrible, cold even though it was supposed to be hot and not even tasty at all. Except it was very expensive. As I said, not recommended at all.

When I visited it was pretty full, which was probably due to the VfB game just before. Nevertheless, the service people tried hard to take care of everyone. It took a moment, but when it was my turn everyone was very nice and accommodating. Drinks came pretty quickly. The first time the original Swabian Maultauschen were also convincing. There is also a beer garden outside, but it was quite busy.

Food wasn't good. The potatoes in the goulash weren't cooked through, the schnitzel wasn't seasoned and the spaetzle wasn't homemade (as it says on the menu), but the prices were too high.

Unfortunately the salad was rotten and mushy. The pork loins were hard and the potato salad was inedible. Unfortunately we weren't satisfied at all. The service was good but due to the poor food I wouldn't recommend it.

The location itself is quite nice, the service was impeccable. The food was a disaster. Maultaschen with potato salad. The Maultaschen were at most lukewarm and finished products. The potato salad was either from a bucket or made by the trainee. In any case, the potatoes were only partially cooked. You can't expect much for just under €16, but there should be a certain minimum level. Unfortunately that was nothing...at least it was beautifully presented.

We've only been here once so far and that's probably why. The rating is not quite as strong as from guests who come here more often. The ambience is quite nice and the restaurant offers a large outdoor area. The service was very friendly and always on the ball when we had a concern. The food was generally okay for us. But we have often had better quality in other restaurants. There was food to eat: Unfortunately, the knuckle (2 out of 5) no longer has pink meat in the middle Spare Rinbs (2 of 5) Meat still firmly on the bone Pork cheeks (4 out of 5) Cream of asparagus soup (4 out of 5) We'll try again in a few months, maybe. we had a bit of bad luck with the food.

I've eaten better schnitzel, one side was dark, the other schnitzel was far too light and floated past the frying pan, the spaetzle wasn't hot and the sauce wasn't so good. It's a shame for this restaurant 🤷‍♂️....

Nicely decorated, friendly service and quick too. Also good advice if you can't decide based on the map. Good value for money. You'll feel really full, the food is served/prepared beautifully and tastes delicious too. You can enjoy the food in peace and yet everyone always checks to see if everyone still has something to drink.

We were there for communion. A real Swabian restaurant with a museum on the first floor and a large beer garden. The communion menu was great, the main menu “Schwinsbäckle stewed in Trollinger” is recommended, the small mixed seasonal salad was rich. The service at the house was great, always had us in mind and served us excellently despite the normal activity (Spring Festival and VfB Bundesliga game) I almost have to say a must.

Good atmosphere! We sat outside and enjoyed the spring heat, I ate a pork chop which, according to the menu, was 1.1 kilos. I couldn't eat, but I drank two beers and an espresso

The name is program; there is no shortage of meat dishes. But vegetarian alternatives are also on offer. Pork knuckle, lamb, roast - everything was delicious and filling. I attribute the pain afterwards to the fact that I didn't make the jump in time :-)

Good home-style food and friendly service. Hearty and in a brewery atmosphere; Outdoor beer garden with plenty of space. Swabian food, obviously lots of meat options, but also a good selection of salads and a few veggie dishes. You could sit a little more comfortably. Overall, the price-performance ratio is ok but not great. Definitely good for getting together with family and friends.

Great Swabian restaurant with history. As a native of Stuttgart, I wholeheartedly recommend the restaurant. Yes, it is a bit touristy as many people go to the Pig Museum. But still quality 1A. Large portions, very, very tasty Swabian cuisine. The pictures speak for themselves. We were more than full and we eat a lot :-)

Ambience as expected with appropriate flair, service ok. But the food... Terrible. The slaughter platter for 2 people contains completely dry medallions, the dumplings are suitable as projectiles and the rind of the knuckle was not crispy, but still mushy. The whole thing was very bland, almost unseasoned. And then, easily overlooked on the menu, the price per person is excellent for the platter for 2 people. So you then pay 60 euros. Never see me again because of the taste and the misleading.

Typical German beer hall environment with wooden tables, lots of beer and local specialities, including maultaschen. The pork shank is excellent. Efficient and kind staff. Affordable prices. A good place to spend a cheerful evening with a laugh and a glass of weizen.

Very tasty food in a nice atmosphere. The pig museum is also located in the same building, which is why there is a former tram from Basel (Säulitram) in front of the slaughterhouse, which was also used for passenger transport in this form. The goulash soup itself was very meaty, so it was just right for me. For this reason I treated myself to Kässpätzle without meat afterwards. But you could have continued to eat a lot of meat in the house.

I was there for lunch. I ordered the brawn with fried potatoes. It was a deep plate with lots of mixed pickles and salad. In between a few small pieces of the brawn. This one was good. Lots of balsamic crene on top. The fried potatoes were paper-thin potato slices. All soft and not crispy. It's a shame that such a big Stuttgart restaurateur couldn't do something so simple.

Wir hatten eine außerordentlich freundliche Bedienung. sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Also wirklich ganz arg nett! Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Portionen auch ausreichend groß. Die Preise fand ich zu hoch angesetzt. Und die Toiletten könnten durchaus mal eine Erneuerung vertragen.
