We were there for lunch. There was Coq on vin, which sounded promising. The service staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was brought to the table and initially looked good. Unfortunately it was lukewarm. The chicken was too cooked, possibly heated too often. The mashed potatoes come from a bag and the topping was fried onions, also from a “bag”. The dish cost 16 euros. I'm sorry, but food like that doesn't attract anyone to the restaurant industry. You could easily make your own mashed potatoes and onions. There are people like me who can't tolerate finished products. It may be that the kitchen conjures up better dishes in the evening. But unfortunately this dish was nothing.

We were at the slaughterhouse for lunch on January 22nd, 2025. The food was very tasty! I had the pork cheeks myself. These were super tender. The waiter was very friendly and very accommodating. We had two dogs with us. A bowl of water was brought straight away without us saying anything. In the summer we come to the beer garden every now and then and usually eat the pork knuckle. The taste is also very good and the portion size is also quite decent. We'd love to come back!

Sehr freundliches Personal, das Essen kam schnell und war richtig lecker und ordentliche Portionen. Ein kleines Manko wäre, dass die Bedienung nach Ausgabe der Hauptspeise nicht mehr so ambitioniert schien, Getränke nachbestellen und dann die Rechnung anfragen war eher mühsam. Auf jeden Fall ist die Location zu empfehlen.

We know the slaughterhouse as delicious and great. Today wasn't their day, the knuckle tasted like it had been warmed up, the dumplings were luke warm, the service was there and then gone. Dear people, make an effort, today was nothing. And I was so looking forward to a delicious mince. I'm super disappointed.

We were there after the VfB game, hungry and there were traffic jams everywhere anyway. We came in just in time for the end of the day and were told straight away that if we were quick, Maultaschen with potato salad would work. All right, ordered straight away. Wow how delicious the Maultaschen were. Really good, no packaged stuff, rolled and really tasty. Thank you for your kindness at the end of the day. We also come by without a game beforehand.

This was the second time I was there within a week and I have to say the staff was very friendly, the food was excellent and the price-performance ratio was very good 👍

Der Empfang war prima und wir wurden direkt zu unserem Tisch geleitet. Obwohl es sehr voll war, blieb die Bedienung ruhig und war sehr freundlich. Das Essen kam zügig und war schön angerichtet. Die Portionen sind prima. Das Gemüse hätte teilweise etwas weicher, nicht wie Rohkost, sein können, aber das ist Ansichtssache. ;-) Wir waren jedenfalls rundum zufrieden.

Man sollte ehrlich sind, es war das schlechteste Essen was ich seit 1992 in Stuttgart hatte. Gaisburger Marsch. Nur weil man unterhalb von dem Ort ein Lokal hat, sollte man nur anbieten wenn es gut ist. Unserer war lauwarm, die Spätzle nicht handgemacht, das Fleisch schmierig. Hauptgang Tellerrostbraten mit Bratkartoffeln ( von uns umbestellt) und Gemüse. Alles auf dem Teller war ungewürzt, das Gemüse faulig und gärig. Nach unserem Hinweis wurde uns der Hauptgang ohne Gemüse angeboten. Es seih schließlich so im Haus und man hätte es heute Abend schon mehrfach verkauft. Der andere Hauptgang waren Käsespätzle, gewürzt durch den Käse, sonst nichts. Billiges Salz und Pfeffer von einfacher Qualität stünden auf den Tisch, man könnte ja nachwürzen. Eine junge Frau im Service war es sichtlich unangenehm, und man bot uns einen Schnaps oder Kaffee angeboten. Haben wir abgelehnt, der Espresso zu beginn war auch schon lauwarm. Unsere Gerichte seihen so und man sollte gefälligst den Standpunkt des Hauses akzeptieren. Wie wir zu unserer Qualitätsbeurteilung kommen. Weil wir selbst seit 35 Jahren in der gehobenen Gastronomie arbeiten kochen und Gastgeber sind( auch in Stuttgart) Keine Angst wir kommen bestimmt nicht wieder.

We were here for a birthday party after visiting the Pig Museum. The service was excellent and communication within the team was harmonious. The birthday child received a desert on the house from the service including a serenade. The food was also very hearty, befitting a slaughterhouse, and the portions were quite large, but the quality was very good and tasty. Even if some may be put off by the prices at first, the performance on offer is worth it. We'll definitely be back.

This restaurant is not your ordinary restaurant, it has two floor worth of pig museum above the restaurant! I highly recommend to first take the tour (6.9 Euro) before having lunch/dinner if you haven’t done it. I have ordered the pork medallion, although pricey but it was worth it and fantastic! The pork medallion was cooked medium instead of well done which made the meat very juicy and easy to chew. The pork medallion was paired with mushroom sauce which blends well with the pork and very tasty. Next they have a self made crumb which was toasted with salt and pepper then sprinkled on top of the spatzle (egg noodles). The crumbs works very well with the spatzle. Lastly, the staff is very nice. 5/5 highly recommend the pork medallion!

It is a very large restaurant that can accommodate a lot of people. It is used to receiving coaches full of customers except that there is no parking space for the coaches. You have to park in Candersteg where it is paid and walk 2 km for drivers.

Wir waren 3 Generationen. Allen hat es geschmeckt und gut gefallen. Die Größe der Portionen hat zum Preis gepasst. Das reservieren konnte problemlos online erfolgen und hat gut funktioniert. I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant on September 9th, 2024 and I can only report positive things! The short-term online reservation worked without any problems, which made the first impression very pleasant. When we arrived we were warmly greeted and immediately felt welcome. The service was consistently very good – attentive but not intrusive. The food was simply fantastic! The typical brewery dishes were interpreted in a modern way and really impressed us. The price-performance ratio is absolutely right here. There are also plenty of free parking spaces available, which makes the visit even more pleasant. I can only recommend this restaurant and am already looking forward to my next visit!

Der Kartoffelsalat ist genauso schlecht wie die Bedingung. Kartoffel teilweise roh und nicht gewürzt. Im Schwabenland muss der doch "schlotzen" Die Maultaschen waren kalt serviert und schon hart, gefühlt standen diese eine Weile und es wurde lauwarme Soße vor dem Servieren darüber gegossen. Unsere Bedienung unfreundlich, kein Bitte oder Danke. Keine Nachfrage ob alles passt...usw. Sehr schade, denn die Lokation ist toll...vor allem der Biergarten auch schön groß. Unser Fazit: Einmal und nie wieder.

Were there 2 hours before the European Championship game and had a good place to watch. We were then sent away shortly before the game because we had to make a reservation. This could have been communicated beforehand. We are very disappointed and we couldn't find another place to look at such a short notice, which is a shame... The staff is unfriendly and the burger is expensive for €13 and nothing special.
