This is the kind of restaurant a neighborhood like Holweide needs! The food is truly excellent and the prices are absolutely fair. A quick but long look into the kitchen (available from the bar) shows that everything is made fresh. Whether it's the celery schnitzel or the chanterelle cream schnitzel, all schnitzels are also freshly breaded. The staff is very friendly and takes good care of their guests. I highly recommend this bistro and hope it stays open for a few more years.

The prices are based on the portion sizes. It's enough to fill you up and not have to take anything home ;-) This is meant in a positive way! Good quality, friendly and attentive service. They made sure to change the frying oil for the fries (there were already a lot of frying residue on the fries...but they still tasted good somehow). They also need to ensure the availability of the food (3 meatballs with savoy cabbage were sold out, 1 sauerbraten was sold out...and all this at a table of 4). Still, I'd gladly go back! 4 out of 5. We happened to be there on a perfectly normal weekday and were surprised at how busy it was in the evening! The meatballs were excellent, especially the savoy cabbage. I don't know if I've ever eaten such a delicious portion of savoy cabbage. Truly fantastic and a truly unique selling point! Keep it up!

I can't really rate the restaurant itself. But I can rate the collaboration as an artist with HR management. A musical evening was advertised and planned with three of us singers, but a deposit was never paid after two months of delay. HR put us off and now, one week before the scheduled event, has completely disappeared. This is unfortunately very unprofessional, and guests should know what goes on behind the scenes. Never again!

We were visiting a trade fair in Cologne and had an excellent meal here. Very friendly service and a cozy atmosphere. We'll be happy to come back on our next visit to Cologne. Best regards from Austria :-))

The staff was very friendly. I ordered Wiener schnitzel (unfortunately, the cranberry jam was missing). Otherwise, it was excellent. My partner ordered Kasseler, which was excellent, but the mashed potatoes could have been a bit creamier; it was quite thick in consistency. Otherwise, everything was really good.

It was my first time there and I didn't have high expectations. A delicious draft beer was a great start. Afterward, I ordered the rump steak with mushrooms and fries. It came quickly and was really tasty, cooked to perfection, just like the fries. I'll be eating there more often from now on.

A very extensive menu with something for every taste and preference. It's meat-heavy, but there are also many seasonal specials, including meat-free ones. Many regionally sourced and typical dishes. The quality was truly remarkable. The steaks were as requested and very tasty. The sauces and fried mushrooms were also delicious. I haven't had such delicious fries in a long time! The schnitzel was perfect. Special requests or extras are accommodated, and the portions are reasonable in size and price. Every meat dish comes with a salad plate. The service is warm and fast. It was a busy Saturday at 7 p.m., but the friendly wait staff had everything under control and kept an overview. Even the chef came to the table to ask how we were, but there was nothing but praise. (My companion thought it was because of our dog Yoki, who was attracting everyone's attention.) The outdoor area is a gold mine in the summer. To keep it that way, a long-term concept is needed and could be expanded. There are weekly specials, such as schnitzel days or knuckle specials. For special occasions and holidays, there are theme nights or Sunday brunch. In short, the visit was worth it, and we'll definitely be back. We can already recommend it without reservation, even though we haven't seen everything (inside/restrooms) yet, as we only went outside. Locals also like to go here. Always a good indicator, and certainly not a disappointment here.

I haven't been this full and satisfied in a long time! For starters, I had a meatball. It was really good! The mustard was perfect, and I might have missed a small piece of brown bread, but it was a delight! After that, a paprika schnitzel! Nice and thin, with a not-so-greasy coating. I love it when paprika sauce and mayo are served separately. Fresh, firm peppers in the sauce are a testament to the freshness and really impressed me! I'll be back again and again!

The food there is rustic, good, and reasonably priced. We're regular customers at Jörg's and really have no complaints. After a warm welcome, we always get our drinks and food quickly, usually followed by a pleasant chat with the waitress. This is the kind of restaurant Holweide has been missing. We always enjoy coming back!

Everyone is cared for and their wishes are taken care of. Menu is manageable but there is something for everyone. We always enjoyed it.

After renovation and reopening, this was the second time I've eaten there. Not disappointed this time either. Simply delicious. Keep it up.

New Year's Eve 2024/2025 We were at the Bistrorant with a group of 10 people for the New Year's Eve celebration and had an all-round successful evening. The restaurant was lovingly decorated and the tables were beautifully set. We were greeted friendly. Dear Angelika immediately took care of our drinks and so we could start a lovely evening. We all really enjoyed the buffet and left nothing to be desired. Everything was very tastefully prepared and super tasty. We tried a lot of things, but unfortunately we couldn't do everything. The highlight was the fresh waffles with hot cakes and cream for dessert. Dear Jörg - We thank you and your team for this lovely evening. There's no better way to start the new year.

New Year's Eve was great again. Great buffet that leaves nothing to be desired, great music and very friendly service. We always feel comfortable in the bistrorante

We had booked reservations for a Christmas dinner. Everything went smoothly and the staff was friendly and helpful. The food for all the karts was served so that we could all eat together. I would happily recommend this restaurant for you alone or in a group

There were 10 of us at the Holwigger Bistrorante on November 18th, 2024. Table reservation worked without any problems. The new seating was immediately noticeable. Very comfortable and visually very appealing. Very friendly reception. The first drinks chosen were served quickly. The selected dishes were served to all 10 people at the same time. The steaks chosen were 1a and medium to perfection. Schnitzel is also great. Fresh salads with a delicious dressing. The Holwigger Brocken is juicy and well fried. .........better than the Lommi! All in all, a perfect meal in a very nice atmosphere. We would love to come back. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Went to the Hollwigger Bistrorant for the first time today and we'll definitely be back. The food was simply delicious (cutlet, meatballs, schnitzel) and the service was super friendly and super fast. We are also looking forward to summer as we have already set our sights on the outdoor area.

I was recommended this restaurant by the Hotel Lorien that I was staying in for 2 nights before retuning to the UK. The starter a paprika soup with bread crumb coated mushroom was a delight. The salad was well balanced and just the right amount of dressing to refresh the palate. The main course, I chose was the 0.25 kg rump steak with pepper sauce and french fries. It was an absolute delight and the best steak I have had in years.

At the end of May I celebrated my birthday in the beer garden with around 26 guests. In advance there was a creative offer for the cold and warm finger food buffet, which could even be served in “stages” if desired. It was delicious and beautifully presented! In addition, a wonderful, friendly and courteous service at all times...my guests and I were thrilled. Thank you very much for a great evening! Tim Rauhe on the outside, unfortunately a catastrophe on the inside... I cannot rate my stay here yesterday, Wednesday, August 7th, 2024, any other way. The otherwise mostly “positive” reviews here also make me more than questionable. Wondering where they really come from...?! But back to the beginning... Yesterday, Wednesday, my friend just wanted to try Bistrorant because of the positive reporting on RTL. No sooner said than done, we reserved online for the evening at 7 p.m. When we arrived, there was a sign on the front door indicating that the entrance was via the beer garden. In the beer garden we met Jörg, the owner, straight away: “Table for two?” We said: “We have reserved”, then picked a table here or there. Already then I noticed his harsh manner. Ordered two Kölsch, which came quite quickly. When I was “transporting” it from the tray to the table, I almost had Jörg’s elbow in my face. Food was then eaten quickly. Based on the report, I ordered 2 meatballs and fries for myself. My friend had a schnitzel with paprika sauce and fries. Both dishes came very quickly. At first glance I saw that my meatballs were not what they had advertised. On the contrary. As you can clearly see in the pictures, they were meatballs that you can buy ready-made in any discount store. They were also served with sweet mustard. “My friend’s” schnitzels also looked like industrial meat that had been briefly put through the deep fryer. No roasted aromas, just warmed up. The fries “so la la”: without the praised bacon salt. When Jörg asked whether we enjoyed it, I answered honestly that the food didn't really appeal to me. I got the stupid answer that the others would always like it. As the process continued, we were ignored for further Kölsch orders. We only got something when we asked. When I went to the toilet I was able to take a look into the kitchen and realized that there was only a “one man show” here. Bartender, cook and waitress in one person. There was also a lot of rubbish all around. A shopping cart with cardboard, dirty floors, tables that were carelessly wiped down but not re-prepared. Outdated events on the posters. Paid and left quickly. Unfortunately no reason to come here again.

My friend and I have eaten there several times, both before the "Raue visit" and after. The service is always friendly and attentive, and we have never had to wait long for our orders. We were almost always satisfied with the dishes, but the soups deserve special praise. The design of the restaurant is a matter of taste, for me personally it is a little too colorful and busy. The outdoor area could be more inviting and comfortable, but that's just a minor criticism.

My son was visiting me in Holweide and we visited the “beer garden” and ate here. After the TV report, I really wanted to try the "Ade-style meatballs": the taste was delicious, interesting - I would order them again! We had a VERY nice evening here in the beer garden with delicious food, in such a lovely, relaxed *atmosphere*! And THANK YOU for it.

Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed. The Kölsch wasn't really cold and tasted stale! The fries were soft, the fried potatoes weren't fried enough. The children's schnitzel was good, heaven and earth snacks were nicely prepared and tasted good, but unfortunately they were cold. The service was quite good. We sat outside and the smell of the garbage cans reached the table. All in all, we wouldn't come back.

We were here for the first time today - but definitely not the last time: cozy atmosphere, very nice service and extremely delicious food! The TV show with Raue inspired us to do this - and it was a great tip 🥰

Garden chairs and red faux leather chairs invite you to linger in the outdoor area. The savoy cabbage vegetables we ate were delicious and the fried potatoes weren't swimming in oil but were deliciously crispy and fried.

We ate here for the first time today. Tim Raue, the restaurant rescuer, made us curious. It was a nice dinner. Very well thought out menu. On Tuesdays we had the grilled knuckle with perfect golden brown fried potatoes and sauerkraut, as well as the Himmel & äd, Which was really nicely prepared and very tasty. First of all, a few prawns 🍤, also delicious, perfectly fried and seasoned. We're really looking forward to our next visit 🤭😋 then we'll try the meatballs too. It is a restaurant with a bistro. We actually wanted to eat a sauerbraten because the reviews were very positive, but unfortunately this dish wasn't available at the start of the European Championships and the alternative dishes tasted like ready-made products.

The food is always good and the price-performance ratio is right. There are small changes to the map. Jörg is always very nice and welcomes his guests.

The food was very tasty. There were eight of us there, everyone got their food at the same time. And we had a very nice, attentive waiter (a young man with dark hair). He always made sure there were enough drinks and always asked if anything was missing. We had a man with walking difficulties with us and he even helped him get into the taxi afterwards. Really great. We will be back definitely.

Dec. 2023 we were there for Christmas on December 25th, 2023 with a menu and then a few more times and the food was very good, no comparison to my previous review. We have become regular customers! We are already looking forward to the next time for the knuckle dinner.

I've been eating there for years and always face the same problem. What should I eat? Everything just tastes really good 👍 But whether I'm eating or just having a beer, I always feel good. The beer garden invites you to end the day in a cozy atmosphere in summer and it is very cozy inside in winter. Jörg and his staff are super friendly, very approachable, always in a good mood and no wish remains unfulfilled. Simply great and a 100 percent recommendation 👍
