We were at Hollwiger Essen on Friday October 4th. It was excellent, great service, very friendly. The food was perfect, very nicely prepared and tasted great. We can only recommend eating here.

Something between a pub and a restaurant, the name says it all. Not only is the menu generous, but also the portions. Used schnitzel Monday, was very tasty, we would love to come back. PS for the TV viewers... The meatball was really sensational😀

There were two of us in the beer garden, which was well attended. We ordered Fuhrmann Pfanne and Himmel&Äd and they were both really delicious, well seasoned and very tasty. At the end of May I celebrated my birthday in the beer garden with around 26 guests. In advance there was a creative offer for the cold and warm finger food buffet, which could even be served in “stages” if desired. It was delicious and beautifully presented! In addition, a wonderful, friendly and courteous service at all times...my guests and I were thrilled. Thank you very much for a great evening! Tim Rauhe on the outside, unfortunately a catastrophe on the inside... I cannot rate my stay here yesterday, Wednesday, August 7th, 2024, any other way. The otherwise mostly “positive” reviews here also make me more than questionable. Wondering where they really come from...?! But back to the beginning... Yesterday, Wednesday, my friend just wanted to try Bistrorant because of the positive reporting on RTL. No sooner said than done, we reserved online for the evening at 7 p.m. When we arrived, there was a sign on the front door indicating that the entrance was via the beer garden. In the beer garden we met Jörg, the owner, straight away: “Table for two?” We said: “We have reserved”, then picked a table here or there. Already then I noticed his harsh manner. Ordered two Kölsch, which came quite quickly. When I was “transporting” it from the tray to the table, I almost had Jörg’s elbow in my face. Food was then eaten quickly. Based on the report, I ordered 2 meatballs and fries for myself. My friend had a schnitzel with paprika sauce and fries. Both dishes came very quickly. At first glance I saw that my meatballs were not what they had advertised. On the contrary. As you can clearly see in the pictures, they were meatballs that you can buy ready-made in any discount store. They were also served with sweet mustard. “My friend’s” schnitzels also looked like industrial meat that had been briefly put through the deep fryer. No roasted aromas, just warmed up. The fries “so la la”: without the praised bacon salt. When Jörg asked whether we enjoyed it, I answered honestly that the food didn't really appeal to me. I got the stupid answer that the others would always like it. As the process continued, we were ignored for further Kölsch orders. We only got something when we asked. When I went to the toilet I was able to take a look into the kitchen and realized that there was only a “one man show” here. Bartender, cook and waitress in one person. There was also a lot of rubbish all around. A shopping cart with cardboard, dirty floors, tables that were carelessly wiped down but not re-prepared. Outdated events on the posters. Paid and left quickly. Unfortunately no reason to come here again.

My friend and I have eaten there several times, both before the "Raue visit" and after. The service is always friendly and attentive, and we have never had to wait long for our orders. We were almost always satisfied with the dishes, but the soups deserve special praise. The design of the restaurant is a matter of taste, for me personally it is a little too colorful and busy. The outdoor area could be more inviting and comfortable, but that's just a minor criticism.

Went to Cologne for one night (Peter Maffay concert) and wanted to drink a Kölsch shortly before midnight. We discovered the corner restaurant by chance and were warmly welcomed by the landlady and the guests present. Thank you and best regards

Admittedly, without the report on TV we would have continued driving past, but luckily we were curious! The service was very good and the boss also took great care of his guests. Asked several times if everything was OK. Yes, and that was it! The food was really very good, absolutely recommended! We will go there more often in the future!

My son was visiting me in Holweide and we visited the “beer garden” and ate here. After the TV report, I really wanted to try the "Ade-style meatballs": the taste was delicious, interesting - I would order them again! We had a VERY nice evening here in the beer garden with delicious food, in such a lovely, relaxed *atmosphere*! And THANK YOU for it.

After the show aired, we were excited to see what awaited us and were pleasantly surprised. Jörg is truly incredible! Many thanks also to the kitchen. Gladly again when we are in the area.

Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed. The Kölsch wasn't really cold and tasted stale! The fries were soft, the fried potatoes weren't fried enough. The children's schnitzel was good, heaven and earth snacks were nicely prepared and tasted good, but unfortunately they were cold. The service was quite good. We sat outside and the smell of the garbage cans reached the table. All in all, we wouldn't come back.

We were here for the first time today - but definitely not the last time: cozy atmosphere, very nice service and extremely delicious food! The TV show with Raue inspired us to do this - and it was a great tip 🥰

Garden chairs and red faux leather chairs invite you to linger in the outdoor area. The savoy cabbage vegetables we ate were delicious and the fried potatoes weren't swimming in oil but were deliciously crispy and fried.

We ate here for the first time today. Tim Raue, the restaurant rescuer, made us curious. It was a nice dinner. Very well thought out menu. On Tuesdays we had the grilled knuckle with perfect golden brown fried potatoes and sauerkraut, as well as the Himmel & äd, Which was really nicely prepared and very tasty. First of all, a few prawns 🍤, also delicious, perfectly fried and seasoned. We're really looking forward to our next visit 🤭😋 then we'll try the meatballs too. It is a restaurant with a bistro. We actually wanted to eat a sauerbraten because the reviews were very positive, but unfortunately this dish wasn't available at the start of the European Championships and the alternative dishes tasted like ready-made products.

The food is always good and the price-performance ratio is right. There are small changes to the map. Jörg is always very nice and welcomes his guests.

The food was very tasty. There were eight of us there, everyone got their food at the same time. And we had a very nice, attentive waiter (a young man with dark hair). He always made sure there were enough drinks and always asked if anything was missing. We had a man with walking difficulties with us and he even helped him get into the taxi afterwards. Really great. We will be back definitely.

Our guests stayed in a hotel there and we were looking for a place to have a meal together. Here we could put two tables together and immediately feel comfortable with a Kölsch. Great Cologne corner pub with real flair! Wouldn't have expected it in this area 😜 I can recommend it! Food top!

I've been eating there for years and always face the same problem. What should I eat? Everything just tastes really good 👍 But whether I'm eating or just having a beer, I always feel good. The beer garden invites you to end the day in a cozy atmosphere in summer and it is very cozy inside in winter. Jörg and his staff are super friendly, very approachable, always in a good mood and no wish remains unfulfilled. Simply great and a 100 percent recommendation 👍

Hatte ein kleines Klassentreffen dort. Im Biergarten, gemütlich, gute Stühle. Sehr nette Bedienung, super Service und das Essen war ausgesprochen gut. Ich kenne dieses Haus noch als schavu. Hab für nächste Woche wieder einen Tisch bestellt. 😉 Leute hab leider vergessen die Sternchen zu vergeben. Natürlich volle Sternchen 😂😂

Ich kann die guten Rezensionen leider absolut nicht nachvollziehen. Wir waren als geschlossene Gesellschaft dort, und es war im Verhältnis unverschämt teuer, das Essen leider sehr schlecht, das Geschirr dreckig und der Service mehr schlecht als recht. Einen Latte Macchiato zu machen hielt der Wirt bzw. Inhaber für zuviel Aufwand. Nie wieder. Vielen Dank für Ihre ausführliche Antwort. Natürlich gab es ungeplant mehr Gäste. Jedoch bedeutet dies meines Erachtens nicht, dass man unfreundlich werden muss. Vor allem nicht bei einem solchen Anlass. Ich hatte den Latte Macchiato übrigens gar nicht bestellt. Aber die Begründung, dass es nicht im Preis inbegriffen war, wäre doch absolut in Ordnung gewesen. Wenn man das auch so sagen würde und nicht: "ne, dann wollen ja alle anderen auch einen haben.". Und das Geschirr sollten Sie bei Gelegenheit auch Mal überprüfen. Es war keinesfalls in einem Zustand, in dem man es Gästen anbieten sollte. Der hohe Preis ist schon nachvollziehbar, da der Unterhalt hier Ingesamt viel kostet. Aber Freundlichkeit und Sauberkeit sollten in einem Lokal gerade dann Priorität haben.

Wir waren das erste Mal in diesem Lokal und wurden äußerst positiv überrascht. Die Reservierung und auch die Änderungen waren problemlos und schnell erledigt. Die Speisekarte ist gutbürgerlich und nicht übermäßig umfangreich. Aber das was draufsteht wird von der Küche sehr schmackhaft und frisch zubereitet. Suppen, Salate, Hauptspeisen und Dessert - Alles zu empfehlen. Und der Auftritt einer Rock'n'Roll Band aus Köln rundete den Abend perfekt ab. Ich hoffe, hier mehr solcher kulinarsich wie auch musikalisch interessanten Abende erleben zu können.

Es gibt leckeres Essen. Bedienung ist gut. Personal sind nett und freundlich. Problem war, man kann nicht mit EC Karte zahlen, da es das EC Karte Gerät kaputt war. Also, man muss schon Bargeld vorsichtshalber mitbringen.

Waren schon mehrmals dort, super lecker. Sehr geselliges Bistro/Restaurant. Uriges Ambiente, wirklich zu empfehlen. Auch der Biergarten ist schön gehalten. Machen viele Events zu verschiedenen Anlässen wie z.B Fußball 👍😃

Wirkt auf dem ersten Blick unscheinbar. Allerdings wurden wir sowohl durch das Servicepersonal als auch durch das super leckere Essen überzeugt. Das Bistro inklusive Biergarten ist absolut empfehlenswert. Auch mit Kindern! Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Kleine Speisekarte, leckeres Essen, nette Bedienungen. Man kann draußen sitzen unter einem riesigen Zelt. Was ich sehr gut finde ist das die Sauce beim Schnitzel extra serviert wird und somit das Schnitzel nicht aufgeweicht ist!! Saucen werden frisch gemacht .

Ein nettes, bodenständiges Lokal mit 2 sehr netten Bedienungen. Leider waren diese zeitweise etwas überfordert. War aber auch etwas viel für 2 Personen. Das wird uns aber nicht davon abhalten bald wieder dort hinzugehen.
