Nice, rather small restaurant. The food is very tasty. Self-service. I particularly enjoyed the soy stroganoff. The chocolate cherry cake is also sensational. We'd love to come back.

Always a good address if you are looking for delicious, vegan and, above all, varied food. After my last visit, I also consider it suitable for those with celiac disease, despite the buffet principle. The dishes are clearly marked as gluten-free. I don't know whether it was a happy coincidence or deliberate, I had the impression that the gluten-free dishes were in the "back row" or in a separate row. This reduces the risk of contamination enormously because no gluten-containing foods are loaded onto the gluten-free foods. Each container is also equipped with its own cutlery. The only downside is that there is currently no gluten-free cake option. If there were, it would have been 5 stars.

The food is very tasty!!!! You put your own food together. Various bowls and bowls are available, graded according to size (and price). You have to be careful not to sit in a draft, but otherwise you sit comfortably. If you want to eat vegan, you will be very happy here 🤤

We have always enjoyed the food here so far. Even all the non-vegan people who brought along always had something to do here. The concept of the buffet is good, but the prices are high if you don't "fill up" your plate. It's nice to be able to help yourself to all the dishes at a buffet without having to ask about animal allergens first :) We have now been able to test a few cakes and we have always been very impressed with them. Unfortunately, the hot food is usually only lukewarm, which could be improved. I also find it disturbing that recently homeless people have often been harassing guests in restaurants. I can well understand that the employees don't want to put themselves in danger, but for me as a guest it is a reason for me as a guest to avoid the restaurant in the future if my stay there is influenced by outsiders (and especially their smells when eating are very unpleasant). I haven't experienced this at the other locations so far, perhaps a solution will be found here soon.

The employee takes something from the buffet in front of me and eats it. Where are we here? This is not something that can be taken for granted at all. The girl who did that shocked me. Otherwise the food is always good and of the same solid standard.

For fans of the plant-based lifestyle, eating lush greens is a little oasis of joy. In the summer, the outdoor terrace invites you to linger, but the inside is also very cozy. The young team is always friendly and well motivated. There is also a wide selection of delicious food and drinks. Conclusion: Sattgrün Essen is always worth a visit.

You can also eat it as a non-vegan 😜🤣

Very fresh, well-seasoned dishes that harmonized with each other on the buffet. The quality is much better than you would expect from a self-service restaurant. Nice service and you can sit outside in peace.

After an afternoon of bouldering, we went to Sattgrün. We had never heard of the concept of a vegan buffet restaurant (nothing like it in the Netherlands, as far as I know). How wonderful to have so much choice again! The taste of the food was delicious. We had a big plate and a medium plate, and nice and refreshing organic lemonades. Let's hope this (type of) restaurant also lands in the Netherlands!

Simply put: A cute really vegan buffet restaurant with a soup counter. There are different plate sizes to choose from, which you can fill up for a fixed price. The variants of the dishes are listed in the photo. The staff is incredibly accommodating, allergen-informed and friendly on every one of our visits. In addition, the lush green has - a play area - Toilets for guests - great drinks & A cute cake counter

Great selection of food. We were guests there as "meat eaters" and didn't miss anything. You also have to be open to new things. You can choose between small, medium and large plates, which you can then fill yourself from the buffet. The toilet is in the basement and can only be reached via stairs. You can also linger in the outdoor area and enjoy the day.

The staff was amazing! Super fun and diverse. I LOVED the black guy so much (I think his name was Stefano?). Definitely would recommend 😌!

I found it incredibly tasty (especially the savory dishes), I was absolutely positively surprised at how well everything harmonized, even though I had thrown it together quite wildly. You could sit very relaxed inside or outside and the service was great.

Really delicious, spicy food and a wide variety of both warm and cold at the buffet. The employees are always super nice and helpful. My parents, who are now almost 80 years old, love the lush green. It's nice to always find a mixed audience there, young and old 🙂 We always feel right at home.

This place is amazing. Buffet style with so much choice and all vegan! Price is perfect for the amount of food you can put in the bowls. And everything tasted just delicious. We weren't planning on it, but we came back for lunch the next day :)

The food is ok, but far too expensive for the quality offered, because unfortunately it is often only lukewarm, often already soggy and overcooked and, above all, a lot of it seems greasy. There are much better addresses there. However, cake and coffee are very tasty and still provide a reason to go to Sattgrün.

Just a stone's throw away from the hustle and bustle of Essen's city center, you can find delicious vegan food from the buffet in the Theaterpassage, which should have something for every taste. The restaurant is well maintained and clean, the service staff is friendly. One star deducted because the food could have been a little warmer. Otherwise everything was great, I'd love to come back.

Nice, exclusively vegan restaurant in downtown Essen. The concept of a hot buffet priced based on plate size is really good. The atmosphere is modern and inviting. The seating is not very comfortable, but it is enough for eating. The guest room is quite small for the number of guests and therefore it is often quite loud. The service is friendly. Since you're filling your own plate, the service is mainly limited to the payment process. Most of the dishes there are really tasty and creative. Unfortunately, the food is almost always lukewarm.

Vegan restaurant with self-service buffet. If you didn't know how delicious vegan can be (or that at all... 🤣), you should try it out here. The concept: you choose a plate size that you can fill ONCE at the buffet, so be sure to assess your hunger carefully, because there is no need to catch up - but that deducts one star, because I find that unfortunate in that you tend to fill your plate super full to pack and end up either having leftovers or being too full... Because it may surprise some people, but vegan food can REALLY fill you up 😁 I think it's great to be able to try things there that I never have at home.. Jackfruit e.g. B. (very tasty by the way!).

Visiting Essen again after a long time... Great vegan restaurant located in the middle of Essen city center. You choose the plate size and pay for the size of the plate or take a bowl. There are also soups, very tasty cakes and coffee... Highly recommended

Super lecker und unkompliziert:) Man packt sich einfach etwas der variierenden Gerichte auf den Teller und zahlt an der Kasse. Wir waren schon öfter hier und werden dies wohl auch in Zukunft beibehalten. ;)

Lecker, wenn man den Teller gut vollpackt gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Richtig bequem sitzt man aber nur auf der Polsterbank.

Generell mag ich dieses Restaurant, genauer gesagt: Das Essen. Das Konzept empfinde ich jedoch nicht als gelungen: So ist mein Essen jedes Mal kalt, bis ich bezahlt und zum Tisch gegangen bin. Die aufkommende Unruhe durch das Hin- und Hergelaufe von Gästen und Servicepersonal lässt sich wohl nicht verhindern. Im Winter ist es recht frisch im Restaurant, ggfs wird hier an den Energiekosten gespart. Alles in allem also eine ambivalente Erfahrung. Aufgrund mangelhafter Alternativen in Essen werde ich aber wiederkommen. 🤷‍♀️

Sehr leckeres Essen mit einer angemessen großen Auswahl. Die Speisen sind frisch und werden regelmäßig nachgefüllt. Mir gefällt das Konzept auch als "nichtveganer" sehr - mir hat alles geschmeckt und ich habe nichts vermisst. Ich war bereits mehrfach da und es war immer wieder gut und ich hab alles gut vertragen! Ich wünschte es gäbe eine Filiale in unserer Nähe ;)

Großartig! Das nenn ich mal ein Restaurant! Alles vegan und unfassbar lecker. Wir wohnen 120 Kilometer entfernt von Köln, aber wenn wir in der Domstadt sind, gehen wir ins Sattgrün. Ich finde das Essen genial, unglaublich vielfältig und absolut überzeugend. Am liebsten würde ich sechs Sterne geben. Großes Lob an die Küche und das Konzept!!! - Einmal hier essen, und alle Käfige der Welt stehen leer.

Ein sehr schönes Restaurant mit angenehmem Ambiente. Bezahlt wird nach Tellergröße. Die Auswahl der Speisen ist überschaubar. Wir empfinden das als angenehm. Bei den Getränken ist es ähnlich. Es gibt nichts schlimmeres als eine überladene Speisekarte. Das Essen ist frisch zubereitet und schmeckt hervorragend. Alles in Allem ein einfaches Konzept, das uns ausgezeichnet gefällt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Ich mag das Sattgrün so gerne. Einfach lecker essen. 5 Sterne, auch wenn zwei Dinge schade sind: - Warum gibt es Euch nicht in Bayern? - Ein Kuchen ohne Weizenmehl (glutenfrei oder mit Dinkelmehl) wäre super 🤗 Immer wieder gerne.

Das Restaurant ist gemütlich und angenehm ruhig. Die Speisen sind sehr lecker, allerdings waren einige der Gerichte vom warmen Büffet, z.B. das Blumenkohl-Möhren-Gemüse, lauwarm bis kalt. Das darf bei den doch recht hohen Preisen eigentlich nicht sein, denn man darf ja seinen Teller nur einmal befüllen. Beim nächsten Mal werde ich mich auf die Gerichte mit Soßen konzentrieren, die lassen sich offenbar leichter warmhalten.

Das Buffet und die Suppen sind sehr lecker. Gemütliche Atmosphäre, liegt sehr zentral. Ich gehe dort immer wieder gern hin. Nur die Kuchen und Heißgetränke sind nicht so mein Fall. Die heiße Schokolade könnte man (auch vegan) besser hinbekommen, die Kuchen sind etwas krümelig und mächtig. Schön wäre z. B. mal Käsekuchen.

Wir waren mit einer großen Gruppe gestern Abend dort essen, anschließend hatte über die Hälfte Magen Darm. 🤢

Da war wohl etwas schlecht. Wir waren mit 15 Personen gestern dort essen und über die Hälfte sitzt jetzt auf dem Klo.

Eins der besten Restaurants überhaupt! Das Essen schmeckt extrem gut, man schmeckt und sieht die frische Zubereitung und die absolut hohe Qualität und das für mehr als angemessene Preise. Service ist sehr aufmerksam und lieb. Das Ambiente ist einfach nur schön und ausgeglichen. Ganz klare Weiterempfehlung!

Lecker und abwechslungsreich. Durch das buffetartige Konzept gibt es kaum Wartezeit und das Essen ist trotzdem hervorragend!

Sehr leckeres veganes Restaurant in der Innenstadt von Essen. Nettes Ambiente und freundliche Mitarbeiter sorgen für ein entspanntes Erlebnis. An einem Buffet nimmt man sich einen Teller (oder eine Schüssel) und bedient sich dann selbstständig. Die Auswahl fand ich ausreichend groß und sehr ansprechend, es gibt sowohl kalte als auch warme Speisen. Die Preise sind okay, aber nicht billig. Insgesamt hatte ich hier eine gute Zeit und ein wirklich sehr leckeres Essen, auch wenn ich sonst nicht rein vegan oder vegetarisch unterwegs bin.
