We picked up two pizzas from here and I expected better from a Italian Pizza place. It fell short in many ways and we were disappointed in the quality of the pizza. 1.Pizza mit hanchenbrustfleisch 2. Pizza Italia

Food tastes like it came from the freezer. Service seems very unmotivated.

I can only agree... Pizza is small and was completely wet from the bottom. The taste and amount of toppings were ok. Ambiance more like a train station bar. All the tables wobble, the tablecloth is too small for the table. Service inattentive.

To the owner! Ladies and Gentlemen Today I ordered lasagna, it was a disaster, it was oversalted and sour and burnt and washed out," and I ordered tomato salad with it." O - no onion without spices, this is the worst restaurant in Darmstadt. You are embarrassing the whole of Darmstadt with this. The staff is "impossible" and very unfriendly and unpleasant behavior is felt by everyone. I don't recommend this store to anyone. It's a shame such a store!

I was in this restaurant for the first and last time. Was there with several people. When we wanted to order drinks we were told: ......"what else!" just left sitting. The food came later. The plates were slammed on the table in front of you. The pizza was ok. However, in my opinion it is too small. When we wanted to pay, the older gentleman who billed us picked up the card payment machine in annoyance. I asked for a copy of the coupon before paying and was yelled at for it. He then pocketed our tips straight away without comment. After everyone had paid, the tables were immediately pushed apart and we were practically escorted out of the restaurant. Hospitality - absolutely non-existent!!!!! I seriously ask myself: who goes here voluntarily?!?

Average ice cream, stuffy employees, super long opening hours

Yesterday I had dinner with friends in San Remo, which was, as expected, a bad idea, as we realized afterwards. We ordered a pizza without cheese because some of us are vegan. When the pizza came, with cheese of course, we were waved off with the words "yes, there's nothing you can do about it, you have to eat like that." Of course we had to pay the full price. If you really want to get shit on because the kitchen didn't get your order, the San Remo is highly recommended👍

San Remo in Darmstadt is a truly authentic Italian restaurant, and it’s always a pleasure to dine there! The atmosphere, the staff, and the way they interact with guests are genuinely Italian, which adds so much charm to the experience. During our recent visit with my family, we ordered three different pizzas, and every single one was fantastic. We had two variations of the four cheese pizza, one with extra ham and mushrooms, and the other with pepperoni sausage and mushrooms. The third was a vegetarian pizza loaded with fresh and flavorful toppings. To top it off, we had tiramisu for dessert, and it was absolutely delicious, one of the best I’ve had! The quality of the food was excellent, and the portions were generous. This wasn’t our first visit to San Remo, and it certainly won’t be our last. We love coming here for its great food and warm atmosphere. The prices are also very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. The only area for improvement I’d like to mention is the cleanliness of the table covers. They seemed a bit dusty, which didn’t feel ideal. Other than that, everything was wonderful, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Highly recommend San Remo for anyone looking for authentic Italian cuisine in Darmstadt!

Since we attended a seminar in an adjacent hotel on several days and there was a lunch cooperation with this restaurant, we ate lunch there several times. The ambience is just terrible. Matching the unfriendly staff. There is no greeting, farewell, please or thank you here. You will be treated better in any fast food restaurant. We always sat at the same table. The stains from the tomato sauce on the tablecloth from the day before were only roughly wiped away. During the days I ate, among other things, pizza, pasta and also a schnitzel with fries and salad. None of it tasted good. All the food was totally over salted, almost inedible. A frozen pizza tastes better. The staff doesn't care that a plate is left half full. It will be cleared without a comment or question.

Das San Remo ist einfach Kult in Darmstadt, hier Essen die Darmstädter Geschäftsleute . . was immer wieder nette Momente ergibt.

I ate a rigatoni all'arrabiata after ordering the penne. I asked for them al dente and they were well cooked. Used chilli in vinegar. Terrible . Another sore point is that the staff needs showers. We will not come again and I recommend renewing the staff

A glimpse of Italy in Darmstadt. I didn't expect it, but in this family-run restaurant you feel a bit like Italy, at least because of the name of the dishes. The food is good, the pizza is good and the pasta is really well made, as expected in Italy. A really nice surprise.

San Remo is the worst restaurant in Darmstadt. The food is terrible, the service unfriendly and disinterested. You're better off putting a frozen pizza in the oven at home than setting foot in here. I found hair in my food several times - absolutely disgusting! The service makes you feel as if the guest is completely unimportant. Never again!

The restaurant seems frozen in time and - in my opinion - has its own charm thanks to the ambience that has remained the same (I was here for the first time around 30 years ago). The waiters were as reserved as ever, which rather amused me. However, they were attentive and we got our food quite quickly. We drank a delicious, dry sparkling wine beforehand. The vitello tonnato was very good, the tagliatelle with vegetables was too powerful for my taste (too much cheese and creamy sauce) and my husband's pizza was just the right size for him (24 cm). Maybe it could be bigger for one or two hungry guests. We'll definitely be back.

In terms of taste, it's a good restaurant that has rightly been in Darmstadt for over 60 years. Unfortunately, the service is very inattentive and it is a bit strange when there are slot machines in the restaurant.

It should be a nice evening with the family. We had to wait 15 minutes until we even got menus, the waiters walked past us several times, and the waiter was very aware that we didn't get any cards and ignored us. When we got the tickets and were able to order something to drink, the drinks were simply slammed onto the table. The service was very unfriendly. We had to wait over 20 minutes for the starters, one of which was brought past our table twice. After we said we would like to pay for drinks because we had already waited a long time for the starters, this was ignored and discussed with colleagues and then the starter was served so that we wouldn't leave. After declining the appetizers and another complaint, we were able to pay for the drinks and leave.

Very rude waiters, the food wasn't recommended either.

Gestern war wohl kein guter Tag im San Remo, denn die Beschwerden im Aussenbereich um uns herum häuften sich: falsches Essen gebracht, Warten auf Bedienung, kein Besteck. Das Essen, das wir bestellt hatten ( Spaghetti mit Tomaten und Rucola, Spaghetti mit Tomatensoße und Rigatoni mit Fleischsoße) überzeugte nicht: viel Pasta mit dicker Tomatensoße bzw. wenig gewürzte Soße. Eigentlich keine Empfehlung, ich denke, die könnten das besser!

Nach einem Zufallsbesuch im letzten Jahr waren wir heute gezielt dort. Wir saßen vor dem Restaurant, wurden freundlich und schnell bedient. Vorspeise, Hauptgericht und Espresso jeweils volle Punktzahl. Die schlechten Kritiken können wir gar nicht verstehen. Gut, wir haben bei sogenannten Edel-Italiänern noch besser gegessen. Das San Remo in Darmstadt ist aber wirklich einen Besuch wert. So gut ist man auch in Italien.

The pizza was average, I would have expected more from an “old-established” Italian! Unfortunately the service wasn't exactly friendly, despite the heat a smile wouldn't be too much to ask for 😁 I know the wardrobe and the ambience differently from good Italian restaurants So all in all I was a bit disappointed 😎

Unfortunately I can only agree with the negative reviews. We ordered a table for 4 people and were seated at a table by the waiter. We ordered drinks and after 5 minutes another waiter came and sat us at another table, as ours is only for regular guests. Normally I would have left by now. Nevertheless, I ordered a pizza that really couldn't be easier. A frozen pizza tastes much better than this “pizza”. Will not visit this restaurant again.

I finally wanted to eat an authentic Italian pizza and pasta. Unfortunately the staff didn't speak German. There was no greeting with “Hello” or “Good day”. When I received my pizza I was shocked at the size - it was about 24cm. This corresponds to the same pizza that I get at Rewe in a pack of three for €2. When I wanted to complain, the boss came and asked in a very disrespectful tone what my problem was. I explained to her that it was unacceptable that the pizza tasted like cardboard and was rock hard. She then said that she couldn't do anything because they bake the pizza in an electric oven and we are in Germany, not Italy.

Authentic! Not a brown lettuce leaf in 8 years. Have any of you hobby restaurateurs ever thought about the fact that a shop of such quality doesn't need to be rated by you? I'm proud of you!

The food is always very good, you can't really say anything about it, that's the only reason for the good rating! The service, not to mention the friendliness, leaves a lot to be desired. Reservations for 2 people are not possible. Sometimes you wait ages for your drinks! It has now happened several times that the orders were simply forgotten. Instead, the service prefers to stand around and chat. Charging 7 euros for a small bowl of side salad is outrageous!

Large, affordable, good quality meat-heavy portions have remained unchanged since the 1960s. I can't help anyone who orders pizza from a long-established Italian restaurant with a good 80 items on the menu. You don't know what's going wrong with people. Pizza is bread with stuff on it. Order something clever from real Italians, real Italian dishes, not pizza, that's not such an incredibly difficult concept. The level of attention and unnecessary friendliness of the service on my last visits was somewhat disappointing. That wasn't okay. The San Remo urgently needs to ensure that the expected disinterest and the usual grumpiness of the established service is also passed on to the younger generation for an authentic San Remo experience. Kindness in San Remo is like visiting a dominatrix who refuses to punish you and in the end no one is happy. 4 out of 5 stars. Makes the young people more disinterested and unfriendly to the last star. If necessary, the Wellnitz can help as a training facility.

We like going there, and the supposed unfriendliness of the staff reminds me of Italy away from the tourist traps. Food comes quickly and was always delicious. A reservation makes perfect sense on some days.

So where should I start? This pizza or whatever it is has nothing to do with pizza. I'm sorry in my heart to even say pizza. The dough or whatever it was was definitely not homemade, which is definitely what you would expect from a good Italian restaurant. Even a ready-made dough from the discount store looks and tastes better than the one you get there. The toppings on the pizza were completely exaggerated and the taste was a pure disaster and cannot be recommended. The ambience in the neighboring building was catastrophic and had nothing to do with Italy or a restaurant. My expectations from an Italian restaurant are that at least the ambience looks inviting and cozy, but that doesn't matter here. The service made an impression on me that it was overwhelmed and unprofessional. I had to wait 15 minutes with my four companions until we were even assigned a seat. In the end, the waiter only saw and heard that we wanted to pay the fifth time. I was only able to eat half of my pizza and asked if I could wrap it up. When I got my pizza back, it was cut up and not lovingly wrapped in aluminum foil, so I noticed that the pizeria probably didn't value their pizza very much either lays. I definitely wouldn't recommend this pizzeria, it was really the worst pizza I've ever eaten. In addition, you couldn't even pay with a card because the internet suddenly went down. Charging 4.50 ps for a Coca-Cola but then not even getting a real Coca-Cola is very, very sad Because the taste was very bad. In any case, I'll never eat there again in my life and I hope that I don't get any more stomach problems because of the food during the course of my work because I and my companions felt very bad when we left the rest of the place.

A little old but still has flair. I've known this place for a long time because people always drank their café or espresso after shopping at Manfred Röth Mensshop. Yesterday we ate everything and had a lovely time.

simply a legend. My mother went here when it was brand new. Recently with an extension. Food is simply divine. Schnitzel San Remo is a dream. Pizza is always great and pasta that really tastes like Italy. The service is also typical. I love the slightly bored waiters who never really seem like they're interested in their job. But for me and my mother, it's the charm. San Remo is not only known to every real Heiner.

My favorite restaurant in Darmstadt. My parents and I have been going to San Remo for decades. There's a lot to choose from, the portions are always huge, the food is delicious and it's a true cult restaurant. We recommend!

The food is good. Price performance is very good. Ambiance - I would say classic...the service was special but warm.

After years, I was happy to eat pizza there again. Because it was always very tasty. Yesterday, however, when I asked the waiter: "Did it taste good?" I could only answer: "It's amazing how well your pizza maker managed to create the taste, shape and size of a frozen pizza." If you like the taste of a frozen pizza topped with salami and a little cheese for €10, this is the place for you.

The mice are crawling up and down the curtains!! After I asked the waiter about it, he simply replied cheekily, “Yes, and what do I do now?! Is just the way…" I've been a guest here for years and tolerated the unfriendly staff because the food is actually quite good, but that's it for now!

Bad service...all tables are 'always reserved'...but no one came within 2 hours! We were assigned the smallest table in the last corner! Inattentive staff! You don't feel welcome!

The food was quite good but the staff is completely overwhelmed and sometimes rude. You're still on the last bite of food and your plate is pulled away from behind without drawing attention to yourself. And if you see from outside, the tables are only wiped down with a dry dish. Sorry no more here

So just because this restaurant has been around for ages and can be said to be traditional, it is unfortunately one of the less good Italian restaurants. There are much better alternatives in the immediate area that are also cheaper. It's a shame actually

Ganz ehrlich - dachte nach 20 Jahren … aber immer noch schenken die Kellner nur dem Bußfertigen Gast Beachtung, das Ambiente im Anbau entspricht einem 1€-Laden, die Pizza eher klein und höchstens durchschnittlich, Nudeln 4-Käse grenzwertig. Unterm Strich einfach keinen Italiener wie in Italien erwarten!

Das Essen hat viel zu lange gedauert und hat nicht geschmeckt

Kult, das Essen war immer gut und die Kellner halt wie sie sind. Mit einem italienischen Begrüßungssatz ist man gleich willkommen. Schadet auch nicht wenn man ordentlich angezogen ist. Ich hatte nie Probleme mit dem Personal. Wenn hier hauptsächlich Araber mies bewerten, sollte man vorsichtig sein. Wahrscheinlich versuchen sie das Lokal mies zu machen um dann den nächsten Billigsupermarkt dort zu installieren...Wer rummeckert, dass in einer Carbonara oder Bolognese Speck ist, kann das in Zukunft gerne in Syrien oder Afghanistan essen... Die Verslumung der Innenstadt Darmstadts schreitet voran.

Selten so lustlosen Service erlebt, einzigste gute ist die Weinschorle. Für die Pizza würde ich Sie am liebsten verklagen.

Unprofessionelles Personal, lange Wartezeiten und ein nicht wirklich einladendes Ambiente. So läuft leider jeder Besuch dort ab. Über die letzten Monate habe ich dieses Restaurant mehrmals mit Freunden besucht und es herrschte immer das gleiche Bild. Das Personal ist von Beginn an unfreundlich, schlecht gelaunt sowie unmotiviert. Es fängt bei den Bestellungen an, die entweder falsch oder lieblos an den Tisch gebracht werden. Einmal wurde der Teller förmlich geworfen und ohne einen Ton dann so stehengelassen. Um weitere Bestellungen aufgeben zu können, muss man gerne mal gut 20 Minuten auf die Bedienung warten. Das Gleiche dann auch bei der Rechnung. Dabei ist es sogar vorgekommen, dass man sich nach langer Wartezeit, auf die Suche nach einem Kellner machen musste. Unter dem Strich fühlt man sich dort als Gast ganz und gar nicht willkommen. Daher auch nur einen Stern und es war definitiv der letzte Besuch.

Das San Remo ist in der Tat eine interessante Erfahrung! Das Essen ist wirklich großartig und die Preise sind super fair! Die Bedienung war aber so unfreundlich und so gelangweilt von unserem Gerede (unserer Bestellung) dass es sich schon wieder wie ein Erlebnis angefühlt hat! Wir haben uns über diese sehr ungewöhnlich barsche Art köstlich amüsiert und fanden es so übertrieben, dass es schon wieder Stil hatte! Sehr empfehlenswert 👍

Das war mit Abstand das minderwertigste essen was mein Magen spüren musste. Nach 2 mal probieren, hat es nur noch gefehlt das ich gekotzt und gewürgt habe. Das Essen genauso wie das Restaurant hat weniger als 1 Stern verdient. Die Antwort vom Keller war ( interessiert mich nicht)!! KUNDE IST KÖNIG! Excellent pizza, actually one of the best I've had (I've travelled a lot in Italy). Service not so good. Had to ask for the aperitivo twice, and wanted a glass of wine with my meal. Had to ask three times till another came with the wine - wenn I was almost finished with my meal. Maybe train the young staff some more? Because as mentioned before - excellent food.

Das Essen war leider komplett versalzen und die weiteren Speisen hätten wir uns auch sparen können. Alles in Allem nicht zu empfehlen.

Die Kellnerin hatte wirklich kein Lust zu arbeiten. Ich und meine Freundinen haben ein Salat ohne Rucola bestellt(da meine Freundin allergisch von rucola ist) und kam trotzdem mit Rucola. Man bekommt kein Bewirtungsbeleg (merkwürdig). Der etwas älterer Kellner hat uns es gesagt dass die Rechnung 40euro beträgt,obwohl als er gerechnet hat ,hat alles 38 euro gekostet. Also ich gebe gerne Trinkgeld aber nicht wenn jmd versucht mich zu verarschen

Einfach das beste Risotto (Chicken) ever !!! Mir fehlte das Adjektiv bevor es mir die Dame vom Mund ablies. "Unbeschreiblich" meinte sie und traf es damit ganz gut :-)

Neem de verrassing ijscope San Remo. Verse vruchten oa ananas, appel, sinaasappel en meloen. Vriendelijk personeel en vlotte bediening.

Die schlechteste „Pizza“, die ich je gegessen habe. Die haben einfach eine dünne Schicht Teig gekocht und Salat (Rucola und Tomaten) darauf geschmissen. Die Stängel des Rucola waren groß wie ein Baum.

20 Minuten nicht beachtet worden, der verschmitzte Kellner/Koch ständig an uns vorbeigelaufen - wie verbittert und ohne Selbstachtung muss man sein, um dies als italienischen Lebensstil/italienische Freundlichkeit sich schön zu reden? Die ohnehin durchschnittliche Küche rettet da GAR NICHTS dran.

Man muss mal da gewesen sein. Das Mobiliar aus dem letzten Jahrhundert. Eine Bedienung die an nicht gerade als freundlich und aufmerksam bezeichnen kann. Das Essen durchschnittlich.

Wir waren zu ersten Mal hier, weil wir das angebliche Kultlokal kennenlernen wollten. Fazit: Einmal und nie wieder! Wir bestellten zwei Pizzen. Anstatt einer bestellten Pizza Quattro Formaggio erhielt ich eine andere Pizza, was ich leider erst zu spät bemerkte. Aber meine Frau wies mich daraufhin, dass das doch die Pizza vom Nebentisch war, die dort ebenfalls fälschlich geliefert wurde und zurück in die Küche ging und jetzt neu aufgewärmt mit verbrannten Rändern mir auftischt wurde. Entsprechend schmeckte sie. Eine freundliche Beschwerde wurde vom Service ignoriert, keine Entschuldigung, nur beleidigte und arrogante Reaktion der sogenannten Kellner. Das Restaurant als italienischen Kult zu bezeichnen, ist eine schlimme Beleidigung aller Italiener.

Essen leider qualitativ nur im Mittelmaß. Bemühtes Personal, aber nicht sehr aufmerksam. Gute Preise aber alles in allem nicht so super.

Schlechteste Pizza seit langem. Wirklich eine Schande dafür 10 Euro bezahlt zu haben. Inflation hin oder her. Das war ein Witz. Nie mehr. Beim gehen war das Personal noch unhöflich. Schämt euch.

Eine gute Pizzeria, die schon so viele Jahre da ist. Das Personal ist wie es bei Italienern üblich ist sehr freundlich und sehr Gast nach. Das Eis schmeckt sensationell gut der Kaffee ist überdurchschnittlich gut.

Sehr leckere Pizza mit dünnem Teig in authentischer Atmosphäre. Hier fühlt man sich ein bisschen in die 70er 80er zurückversetzt was das Ambiente betrifft. Gemütliches Familienrestaurant.
