L'Osteria in Darmstadt

If there were extra stars to be given for the service, there would be an extra star!!! We were there with a total of 10 people, including two wheelchair users and two people with disabilities. The service was very friendly, helpful, competent and above all patient, which is very rare. We felt very welcome as a group and not a disruptive factor. The atmosphere was great! Thanks again! The pizza and everything else was super tasty.

The pasta portions are more like children's portions for an average of €14.50. My partner and I left the store with empty plates and empty bellies. Unfortunately, our complaint on site was not really taken seriously. They tried to sell us more...

Update: Much better than last time. This time the pizza was very hot, crispy and well topped. Also extremely friendly and attentive service. I would like to adjust the rating upwards. Whenever I'm in another city, I like to go to L'Osteria every now and then. Unfortunately, the Darmstadt branch cannot keep up with most of the others. A bit tired atmosphere, not very motivated service and I also know the pizza better.

The food is great. It can be quite noisy and you should definitely reserve a table in advance.

I was recently at L’Osteria in Darmstadt and ordered a tuna pizza to take away. The pizza was really tasty – nice and big (as you would expect from L’Osteria), the base was rather thin, but there was a lot of toppings on it. Exactly my thing! The service was also super nice, the employee handled everything quickly and friendly. In terms of price, I thought it was absolutely right, especially for the size of the pizza. A small negative point: It was quite loud in the restaurant itself - probably because it was a Friday evening and the place was full. Luckily I had planned takeaway anyway, otherwise it would have been a bit too busy for me to eat there. All in all: delicious food, nice service, fair price. I'll definitely come back - maybe next time during the week 😄🍕

I've eaten here before and it was much better. Went there again today and I have to say it was nothing. Staff confused and disorganized. The food used to be better, the pizza was dry and sparsely topped. That was probably the last time. Addendum: I tried again. Something difficult this time. A Margeritha pizza to take away. The 10 minutes it was supposed to take turned into a relaxed 40 minutes waiting time. The only recommendation is to stay away.

Anyone who likes the charm of a train station hall and the acoustics is in good hands there. Unfortunately the staff is unable to cook the pizza at the right temperature. The pizza is brought to the table half-finished. Things should be improved here. The service at the table was good 👍

Ordered food for pickup. It was ready on time, and the pickup was quick. Unfortunately, the lasagna and salad weren't very good. The lasagna portion was small and had no flavor. The price/performance ratio was terrible.

We visited L’Osteria in Darmstadt, and the portion size of the pizza was really big, which was nice. However, I felt that the amount of toppings could have been more. The restaurant follows an Italian style, and while the quality was good, the taste wasn’t quite what I expected. It wasn’t bad at all—just not my style. The place was really crowded, and it seemed like there weren’t enough service staff to handle the number of guests efficiently. Despite that, the overall experience was okay. Although the food was good, I don’t think I would go there again. However, for those who enjoy this style of pizza, it could be a great choice. Hence, a solid 4-star rating.

When I wanted to have a bite to eat after the opera, I ordered spaghetti aglio olio in this restaurant. Well, what came was spaghetti olio, no trace of aglio, it also lacked the hint of chili that is a must and the parmesan was supposedly out. And the wine, well I shouldn't have ordered it and I should have been content with water

Unfortunately, without a reservation, there's usually no chance of getting a seat (without having to wait), but the food tastes great and the prices are fair.

I was there for the first time on Saturday March 15th, 2025... to have a nice meal on my best friend's birthday. We had reserved a table for 6:30 p.m. when we got there on time it said we wouldn't have the table until 6:45 p.m. the email said 6:30 p.m. well so we waited and we got the table at 6:50 p.m. A bottle of wine and a bottle of water were ordered and were supposed to be at the table, but they arrived 30 minutes late (there was a lot going on). For dinner... I had spaghetti carbonara, unfortunately completely tasteless. When we asked if we could get parmesan, an empty container was brought to us... I think you could have checked to see if it was still full. With my friend's pizza he had the Salsiccia Piccante pizza. Unfortunately it was inedible. It was no longer spicy but very, very hot and the entire middle was soggy.. (probably due to chili oil). We were very disappointed. The quality was definitely far too poor for the price.

Best pizza I know and great service. Picked up food today and somehow the order couldn't be found, so I had to wait an extra 10 minutes until everything was freshly prepared. As a small compensation, there were two huge portions of tiramisu. We only noticed this when we unpacked it at home and were delighted. Mistakes can always happen, but it's how you deal with them that makes the difference!!! Top! See you next time....

We went to dinner for my birthday. The reservation worked perfectly. The food came quickly and the service was very nice and responded to all requests. My dish was good, but my friends had complaints about the Penne Arrabiata. Unfortunately, it was pretty unseasoned, which is something we're used to. Unfortunately we reported this too late, which is why we only received vouchers for the next time. My tip: If something doesn't taste good, let me know immediately. I still have to praise the ambience.

Wir sind oft zu Gast. Fast jeden Freitag Abend. Meistens eine Gruppe von 15-20. Üblicherweise versucht der Supervisor oder versuchen die Kellner bei allem Stress uns an einen Tisch zu setzen. Das geschah meistens auch mit aller Höflichkeit. Gestern jedoch war dies einer sehr negative Erfahrung. Der Supervisor war nicht gewillt, uns an eine Tisch zu setzen. Es dauerte ein bisschen bis ihm einfiel, dass das aufgrund der Fluchtwege sein könnte. Die Kellner waren an diesem Abend auch nicht gerade serviceorientiert. Vielleicht war es auch nur ein schlechter Tag, jedoch in der Gastronomie muss man das überspielen können. Das war unser letzter Besuch, vielleicht ist auch unser Umsatz nicht gewünscht ...

We go to L'Osteria in Darmstadt very often because it's always great. The service is always friendly, attentive and customer focused. The food is always fresh, tasty and great value for money. If I had any questions about drinks or the like, I had very good experiences with the waitresses Jana and Theresa during our visit. I always feel very comfortable here.

I recently visited Losteria, the waitress who served my friends and I was called Theresa, I can only say good things! The atmosphere is just great – cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing evening. Theresa spoiled us with her friendly smile and excellent service. She knows the menu very well and gave us great recommendations that made our evening even better. And I really don't know that from waiters in restaurants. The bartender Omar at the bar also did a fantastic job. The cocktails he mixed were creative and incredibly delicious. You can tell that he is passionate about what he does. The combination of delicious food, refreshing drinks and friendly staff makes Losteria a very special place. I highly recommend it to everyone!

I was there once and ordered and the order was now gone, there was shell in the eggs and scattered on the pizza. That's okay, the fact that I didn't bring them back was just because of my schedule. I really enjoy going to Losteria and very often in Hanover, but unfortunately here in Darmstadt you can't do it.

We showed up there around 10:30 p.m. and got a very tasty Parmigiana pizza. One was completely sufficient for two adults with an average appetite, and the price was very reasonable. Fine! But: it already appeared in reviews two months ago, you still have a mouse problem! We saw two in the half hour we were there. The friendly waitress we spoke to was aware of this and said traps had already been installed. Apparently that's not enough. Do more about it! Mice in the store, especially near the kitchen, are really hard to deal with. I'll be happy to eat with you again, but if I see mice again, the health department will find out (if they don't already know).

Unfriendly and rude. When I asked politely whether we could change tables because we were sitting right next to the door and pulled, the nice lady replied, “Be happy that you have a seat”. The colleague then cited stress as an excuse. But if you are overwhelmed by the stress, you should change your job. We got up and left. Speechless about the behavior.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the pizza. The dough wasn't completely cooked through, the tomato sauce had no taste and the cheese wasn't worth mentioning either... luckily there was salt, which made the pizza a little more appetizing. Service was nice and accommodating.

I often go to this restaurant and every time it is a wonderful experience. The pizzas are large and you can order a pizza with two different halves so you can eat two pizzas at once. I have never eaten such delicious pizza in my life. Crispy and baked in the oven. In summer you can sit outside, which is very nice. In winter it is quite loud inside and sometimes you can't understand other people's conversations, but that also has its charm. It's like traveling to Italy :-) . I can highly recommend it.

Super organized for such a large restaurant and the food was delicious for all 9 people. You don't expect it here and are pleasantly surprised. The staff works incredibly hard and quickly. Hopefully they will be paid accordingly.

The noodles were tasty but the portion was far too small for the price. The spaghetti ice cream tasted like it came from the Aldi freezer. It's a shame because the pizzas are actually very good.

Update 2023: Unfortunately, often very loud. Noodle portions are getting smaller and smaller, you don't really get full. Pizza still highly recommended.

It's a bit too crowded. That's why it's very loud there. But the food is unbeatable. Service is also good considering it is so busy.

The pizzas are bigger than a plate and for 10-15 euros for a pizza you will definitely be full here! Everything tastes great here and the price is reasonable. Service was very nice and the atmosphere was very inviting. It's rightly well attended here. The restaurant looks inviting. There was no free choice of table (even though the restaurant was almost empty) and you were immediately informed that you only had 1.5 hours, which was okay at the beginning, but as new visitors you were still shown to the table half a minute later were given food for thought.

Great furnished location. The pictures on the wall are great and there is an acoustic Italian course downstairs. Pizza huge and very tasty. Salad and zucchini noodles ditto. But the dessert Crema di Fragola al Mascarpone is really awesome and only has around 300 cal despite the addition of mascarpone. The waitresses are very charming.

I went out to eat with my family, the food was great, especially the pizza was good because it was thin but big. I recommend pizza with mozzarella and as a drink I would recommend a lemonade.

Incredibly large portion for the approximately 14 euros you pay, the whole family will be fed up with 2 pizzas!😃 If you don't have a problem with a lot of oil, you will find your dream pizza here. Ordered through Wolt. Food came relatively quickly (30 minutes). It was quite cold when it arrived. Special requests were not taken into account. One pizza without basil and the other without peppers were ignored. After we cleaned the things up ourselves and put them in the oven again, they tasted good. By the way, Wolt didn't say anything about it after I reported it

Food was, as always, quite good. We would have liked to have ordered more drinks, but we were never asked about them. After we mentioned this when paying, the insulted gentleman no longer wanted our tip. Sorry if you spend €16 on a pizza or have €90 on the clock for dinner with your kids, the service just has to be right. And yes, you were understaffed again…….that’s the classic. If you don't have enough staff, the management shouldn't allocate all the tables.
