The food was super delicious, the pizza ingredients were very fresh, and the atmosphere was absolutely pleasant and beautiful. The service was very attentive and friendly, and you feel very comfortable. I'd love to come back 🤗

L'Osteria in Darmstadt is definitely worth a visit if you're craving Italian classics in generous portions. The pizzas are huge—easily enough for two—and taste absolutely amazing, with a crispy base and fresh ingredients. The service was very friendly and attentive, although it can take a while during peak times. The atmosphere is lively, sometimes a bit loud, but that's part of it. All in all: good food, fair price, nice location in the heart of the city. Always a hit, we'll be back :)

Long wait and pasta was not cooked

The food looks delicious. The pizza is incredibly large. The service is super friendly, and the ambiance makes you think you're sitting outside in Italy thanks to the "small" trees around you. The only thing you could criticize... maybe it's because you came in from the sun. The stairs to the restrooms are very dimly lit. It's probably meant to add flair, but it was dangerous, and we were "young" and able to walk.

I visit L'osteria every month, the pizza tastes very good, the dough is very good and crispy! One of the best pizzas I have eaten in Germany! Highly recommended!

Great furnished location. The pictures on the wall are great and there is an acoustic Italian course downstairs. Pizza huge and very tasty. Salad and zucchini noodles ditto. But the dessert Crema di Fragola al Mascarpone is really awesome and only has around 300 cal despite the addition of mascarpone. The waitresses are very charming. But sometimes parts of the order are forgotten :-)

Risotto could have been a bit more schlocky. Really good food shop. Cleaning is also very good. Price performance is on par

Since I have been contacted after my first review (without adding comments), to explore why my assessment and what to improve, let me clarify there is nothing wrong in your restaurant: good atmosphere, good attention, good italian food and size,... It is a good place to go. But rating 5 stars means i.e having table sheets in the table, means having more confortable chairs, probably a less noisy place, able to communicate in other languages, etc,... Nothing wrong with you.

I went there with my sister for a vegan meal, it was incredibly tasty, just be careful on the way to the toilet, it was dark, there were spots on the floor, I tripped but that's not a bad thing, you can remember sitting outside depending on the weather. Camp had fun

The food tasted very good as befits the status and was also very inexpensive. Also very friendly staff!

We were there in the spring evening with a group of around 250 people. The food was really great, but the service was a bit overwhelmed. Although the service was super friendly, it was briefly understaffed given such a mass rush. I was "lucky" to sit furthest away from the kitchen, which made the service time with drinks and food a little longer. I suspect that this only happens with larger groups that all sit at the table at once. Definitely highly recommended for smaller groups.

Actually came back for lunch, and had an entirely different experience than last time, for which I left a bad comment. Service was very fast, waitress was extremely nice. I now increase my rating, and might at some point even delete the previous comment ;) —— Extremely slow and disorganised. It took them 15 min to take the orders (not a full house, 17:00). Food was ok but definitely overpriced. Took them another 15 min to bring the check (check that they don’t have btw… just the machine to pay). Then comes the machine to pay, with first, the amount of tip you should leave… we complained about it taking too long and got yelled at. Poor service, disrespectful waiters. Will not go back to this place. Without saying client is king, I say next time, client will go somewhere else… easy

I celebrated my birthday with 3 people. Great food and super nice service. The pizzas are amazing and other things were also super tasty. We sat outside first, then inside. It was a nice evening. Mini criticism: Tiramisu delivery (still quite late) took quite a long time. They somehow wanted to leave almost the entire empty cocktail glasses with us ;-)

Pizza for when you're really hungry.

Unfortunately no! Went back after 15 minutes after the waitress said her colleague was coming soon!? After she walked past the table four times without making contact, there wasn't much going on, we left.

I don't know how to call Lieferando when they don't have a hotline for customers, that's what their qualified employee said. Too bad. Because no delivery, no money. So I would really like to ask you to try it with new employees and transfer the money back. 🤦‍♀️

Way too long waiting time. In my opinion, the pizza dough needs some bounce again. The competition never sleeps😉

It's really incredibly tasty but for people who only like thick pizza it's not the best. You also have to be hungry enough because the pizza is really soooooooo big (or you take the offer where you choose 2 pizzas and they are only made half and half)

Nice evening with friends after the theater. We had reserved a table for 4 people. Unfortunately the performance lasted longer than stated on the program. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were offered a seat right next to the loud open kitchen. When we asked if we could get one of the free front seats, we said no and they would ultimately close at 10 p.m. It was now 9:30 p.m. We would never have made a reservation if the internet hadn't stated that it was open until 11 p.m. on Sundays or public holidays. Nevertheless, the staff was very friendly and we didn't get the impression that we were uninvited. Tip: check the opening times online.

If there were extra stars to be given for the service, there would be an extra star!!! We were there with a total of 10 people, including two wheelchair users and two people with disabilities. The service was very friendly, helpful, competent and above all patient, which is very rare. We felt very welcome as a group and not a disruptive factor. The atmosphere was great! Thanks again! The pasta portions are more like children's portions for an average of €14.50. My partner and I left the store with empty plates and empty bellies. Unfortunately, our complaint on site was not really taken seriously. They tried to sell us more...

Whenever I'm in another city, I like to go to L'Osteria every now and then. Unfortunately, the Darmstadt branch cannot keep up with most of the others. A bit tired atmosphere, not very motivated service and I also know the pizza better.

The food is great. It can be quite noisy and you should definitely reserve a table in advance.

I was recently at L’Osteria in Darmstadt and ordered a tuna pizza to take away. The pizza was really tasty – nice and big (as you would expect from L’Osteria), the base was rather thin, but there was a lot of toppings on it. Exactly my thing! The service was also super nice, the employee handled everything quickly and friendly. In terms of price, I thought it was absolutely right, especially for the size of the pizza. A small negative point: It was quite loud in the restaurant itself - probably because it was a Friday evening and the place was full. Luckily I had planned takeaway anyway, otherwise it would have been a bit too busy for me to eat there. All in all: delicious food, nice service, fair price. I'll definitely come back - maybe next time during the week 😄🍕

I've eaten here before and it was much better. Went there again today and I have to say it was nothing. Staff confused and disorganized. The food used to be better, the pizza was dry and sparsely topped. That was probably the last time. Addendum: I tried again. Something difficult this time. A Margeritha pizza to take away. The 10 minutes it was supposed to take turned into a relaxed 40 minutes waiting time. The only recommendation is to stay away.

Ordered food for pickup. It was ready on time, and the pickup was quick. Unfortunately, the lasagna and salad weren't very good. The lasagna portion was small and had no flavor. The price/performance ratio was terrible.

We visited L’Osteria in Darmstadt, and the portion size of the pizza was really big, which was nice. However, I felt that the amount of toppings could have been more. The restaurant follows an Italian style, and while the quality was good, the taste wasn’t quite what I expected. It wasn’t bad at all—just not my style. The place was really crowded, and it seemed like there weren’t enough service staff to handle the number of guests efficiently. Despite that, the overall experience was okay. Although the food was good, I don’t think I would go there again. However, for those who enjoy this style of pizza, it could be a great choice. Hence, a solid 4-star rating.

When I wanted to have a bite to eat after the opera, I ordered spaghetti aglio olio in this restaurant. Well, what came was spaghetti olio, no trace of aglio, it also lacked the hint of chili that is a must and the parmesan was supposedly out. And the wine, well I shouldn't have ordered it and I should have been content with water

We wanted pizza and were very happy that they now also offer vegan cheese. The pizza was delicious and ready super quickly, and the service was also very friendly.

Unfortunately, without a reservation, there's usually no chance of getting a seat (without having to wait), but the food tastes great and the prices are fair.

I was there for the first time on Saturday March 15th, 2025... to have a nice meal on my best friend's birthday. We had reserved a table for 6:30 p.m. when we got there on time it said we wouldn't have the table until 6:45 p.m. the email said 6:30 p.m. well so we waited and we got the table at 6:50 p.m. A bottle of wine and a bottle of water were ordered and were supposed to be at the table, but they arrived 30 minutes late (there was a lot going on). For dinner... I had spaghetti carbonara, unfortunately completely tasteless. When we asked if we could get parmesan, an empty container was brought to us... I think you could have checked to see if it was still full. With my friend's pizza he had the Salsiccia Piccante pizza. Unfortunately it was inedible. It was no longer spicy but very, very hot and the entire middle was soggy.. (probably due to chili oil). We were very disappointed. The quality was definitely far too poor for the price.

Best pizza I know and great service. Picked up food today and somehow the order couldn't be found, so I had to wait an extra 10 minutes until everything was freshly prepared. As a small compensation, there were two huge portions of tiramisu. We only noticed this when we unpacked it at home and were delighted. Mistakes can always happen, but it's how you deal with them that makes the difference!!! Top! See you next time....

We went to dinner for my birthday. The reservation worked perfectly. The food came quickly and the service was very nice and responded to all requests. My dish was good, but my friends had complaints about the Penne Arrabiata. Unfortunately, it was pretty unseasoned, which is something we're used to. Unfortunately we reported this too late, which is why we only received vouchers for the next time. My tip: If something doesn't taste good, let me know immediately. I still have to praise the ambience.

Wir sind oft zu Gast. Fast jeden Freitag Abend. Meistens eine Gruppe von 15-20. Üblicherweise versucht der Supervisor oder versuchen die Kellner bei allem Stress uns an einen Tisch zu setzen. Das geschah meistens auch mit aller Höflichkeit. Gestern jedoch war dies einer sehr negative Erfahrung. Der Supervisor war nicht gewillt, uns an eine Tisch zu setzen. Es dauerte ein bisschen bis ihm einfiel, dass das aufgrund der Fluchtwege sein könnte. Die Kellner waren an diesem Abend auch nicht gerade serviceorientiert. Vielleicht war es auch nur ein schlechter Tag, jedoch in der Gastronomie muss man das überspielen können. Das war unser letzter Besuch, vielleicht ist auch unser Umsatz nicht gewünscht ...
