San Marco in Flensburg

Unfortunately, there's not much Italian about these pizzas. Just average pizzas that anyone could make themselves.

The ambiance and service are good. My pasta wasn't particularly seasoned. The menu said it should have been a bit spicier, but it was quite flavorless and not particularly hot. Since the rest of the food was good, I'm still giving it 4 stars, but there are a good number of restaurants I'd prefer. Unfortunately, the restrooms are one floor up, requiring a very long and rather steep flight of stairs. This is very inconvenient for the elderly or those with mobility issues.

We were there with a large group. The new server was extremely unfriendly from the start. Another person and I asked for another table to be pushed forward. The immediate answer was "no, we don't do that." I've never heard of that before. We then pre-ordered food but weren't allowed to order a drink, so I had to ask another server. I was verbally abused by said server at my table in front of 30 people. I've never experienced anything like it before, and I'm a trained restaurateur myself; I've been to many restaurants and always enjoyed San Marco. The person in question behaved disrespectfully on several occasions in several restaurants. Normally I would have left right away and not left any money there. I was only doing it for a friend.

Went there on a private business dinner, a hig group. Food was very good, service was quick and the place looked really nice.

A wonderful place, not very noticeable from the street, but with incredibly delicious dishes. We are delighted. We come to you from Denmark and always stop by. Thank you for such pleasant moments.

I went to eat at San Marco in Flensburg with three friends. We got a table for four straight away and had a really lovely evening. The food was incredibly delicious, and my friends felt the same way! 😊 The service was incredibly relaxed and fun, really laid-back and fun. Extra bread was always available upon request. We sat right next to the cash register and could see how relaxed and cheerful the whole team is – really friendly! Highly recommended, we'll definitely be back!

We were looking forward to the lasagna, but I wouldn't order it there again. Perhaps it's due to the price/performance ratio!

It's just become our favorite Italian restaurant. The restaurant is located on Flensburg's shopping street, i.e., in the pedestrian zone. It's very cozy with very friendly service. In nice weather, you can sit outside if there's space. The menu is varied, and the food is delicious and plentiful. Be sure to check out the desserts! The prices are absolutely reasonable; with an aperitif, wine, water, a starter and dessert, and two main courses, we came to under €40 per person. During peak times, I recommend making a reservation.

Frozen Pizza/ Readymade Pasta sold as italian food. We took diavola and margarita pizza and spaghetti Bolognese it tastes so awful. We are very disappointed.

In my experience, the food and service at San Marco are very good, which is why I like to recommend this restaurant to my friends and acquaintances. We visited San Marco on a Sunday lunchtime (12:30 p.m.) with three people. Upon entering, as usual, we had to wait to be assigned a table by the wait staff. Even though there were three waiters and two tables occupied, this process took 10 minutes. We ended up actively approaching the wait staff. Our orders were taken promptly, and our drinks were served promptly. In my opinion, the preparation of the meals took too long with two tables occupied. We waited 45 minutes. The food was, as usual and expected, very tasty. The portion could have been a bit larger, in my opinion. I consider the price of €11.50 to be common and reasonable for Flensburg's shopping street. The ambiance is fine. Due to the expansion of the restaurant, I think it has lost some of its charm. You can sit outside in good weather. The aspect that shocked and disappointed me was the service. The service at San Marco has changed, but unfortunately not in a positive direction. The waiter wasn't particularly friendly and, in my opinion, had a nasty undertone. Unfortunately, the attentiveness was also lacking; we constantly had to ask the waiter to come over to us to place additional orders. The behavior of the waiters in the restaurant was unprofessional. I can understand that friends have one or two unusual nicknames for each other, but vulgar expressions have no place in a restaurant in front of customers. Conversations with political content and particular views should also be held in private. I sincerely hope that this experience remains a one-off and doesn't become the new norm at San Marco.

Standard pizza! The price is rather high for that. A 0.5l beer, for example, costs €6.20. The pizza is also small. If there's any leftovers and some of it is packed in a small box, an extra €0.50 is charged. I think the restaurant is doing well because there are few other pizzerias in Flensburg.

We had a delicious pizza. We prefer a thinner dough, but that's the restaurant's choice, of course. The pizza toppings were delicious. Ordering went smoothly and very friendly.

I went there for lunch with my toddler. Initially, I was in a positive mood. The waiter was friendly. They served noodles. They were okay, but I didn't need to come back for more. We were halfway through our meal, and our drinks were still half full. A quick bathroom break was necessary. As someone previously reported, the restroom was unfortunately not clean, and the soap was empty. When we returned, to my surprise, everything was suddenly covered. When I asked the waitress passing by, she said I should have let them know where I was going. Then it wouldn't have happened. I don't have to check out to go to the restroom, do I?! Especially since the restroom leads past the counter. The drink was brought to me again free of charge. After I told the waiter that I wanted to pay, it took so long that I finally went to the cashier myself. I will definitely not be coming here again.

The ambiance was perfectly fine, although I was actually a bit surprised by the large size at the back. Service could have been a bit more attentive; perhaps asking if you'd like another drink would have allowed them to sell you something extra. (At least that was the case for me.) Unfortunately, I can't really recommend the food; the lasagna was pretty tasteless in my opinion and could have used more seasoning.

We ate pizza, which unfortunately seemed pre-made. It looked like something "fresh from the oven" from Dr. Oetker. A pizza made by a real pizza chef in the kitchen looks different... and tastes different, too! San Marco used to be the number one in Flensburg. By the way, an ice cube or a slice of lemon in the water also tastes good!

Friendly staff and good food. We had Pizza Contida and Spaghetti Carbonara. Both delicious. Pizza was a little too burned on the bottom, so minus one star.

The food tasted good, but nothing special. What bothered us were the portion sizes. Everything was much too small. I've had pizzas that were much larger at other Italian restaurants. The children's plates are more suited to toddlers. My 9 and 13-year-olds were still incredibly hungry afterward. The knives are also no good for cutting the pizzas. The tiramisu is meager for almost €7. Sorry, I forgot to take photos.

My boyfriend and I ate pizza at the restaurant three times. The waiter was nice and the pizza was good. The last pizza was cold, and the employee said that was okay. I was very disappointed.

I know San Marco from my husband, who came here with his family for years. The food is always excellent 👍 , but the service was truly abysmal. The waitresses were very perfunctory and disinterested. When I politely asked for a piece of bread, all I got was a brusque, "We haven't offered that for years." Particularly irritating: While paying, I saw another waiter cutting fresh bread for guests. Apparently, not everyone gets the same service—or it depends on their mood. We received a very warm welcome from Kesha. She was always in a good mood and made everything possible for us. Simply top-notch service. Unfortunately, she no longer works there, and after today, we'll be reluctant to return.

I was corrected by the waitress when I ordered because I mispronounced the name of the pizza. The tables weren't always wiped down after the guests left. The pizza had canned peppers on it, which is unacceptable! But it was one of the few restaurants open on Sunday evenings.

Brett utbud med Pizza, pasta, kött och fisk. De flesta kan nog hitta något att äta. Menyerna endast på Danska och Tyska så bra med någon form av översättningslösning om man inte behärskar språken. personalen pratar hjälplig Engleska. Smaken på maten var ganska ok, inte den bästa Pizzan men helt okej, Fisken var också helt okej och köttet var ganska bra till och med. Uppmärksam personal trots att det var mycket folk i restaurangen.

Probably one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten in Germany. It's just a shame it's not in Hamburg.

Solid service in terms of food. Unfortunately, the service leaves something to be desired. The waiters are generally very friendly, only one waiter is completely unfocused and makes life difficult for himself. The outdoor seating is neither particularly chic nor comfortable. The pizza is solid and delicious. Well-topped, the crust is crispy, very generously toppings, great. The salad was tasty, only some coarsely chopped ingredients spoil the overall impression somewhat. All in all, a solid service.

I've never eaten there before, but I'm sure I will at some point... I've never seen such friendly, polite, and personable staff in all of Flensburg before; they always greet me very warmly...

Worst bolognese I’ve ever had. Didn’t know it was possible to make it that bland.

Unfortunately our food was warmed up in the microwave. Differently warm, hot or even cold. We actually had to go back. Why we didn't do it? We don't know that ourselves. Spaghetti Bolognese drowned in sauce. Unfortunately we won't be eating there again.

Super friendly service and very tasty pizza!

The food was very good. The strawberry tiramisu is highly recommended. One small downside is that the waiter didn't really know his own menu.

They seem to have only recently opened. Very friendly service. Comfortable seating inside and outside.

"Please wait, you will be seated," intercepted right at the door. Okay, I can live with that. And understand that. The food was good and tasty. The waitress was a bit overwhelmed and therefore probably a bit forgetful. But the cleanliness of the restrooms was abysmal. I'll spare you a photo here. You can certainly imagine if the toilet bowl is used by a lot of people urinating standing up and then isn't cleaned regularly!!! Both are absolute crap. Both aspects need to be addressed.

The food was delicious, the waiting time at 1 p.m. was very reasonable and the service was friendly.

I've rarely experienced such a tasteless derailment of Italian cuisine as the so-called "lasagna" at this establishment. The mere sight of the tough, pale gray thing should have made me suspicious... but the true abyss only revealed itself after the first bite: a mushy mess of unidentifiable ground beef, with cheese that probably passed for a chemical experiment. The vomit I smeared over my toilet bowl a few hours later seemed, in retrospect, more structured, fresher, and—hard to believe—more appetizing than the original dish. In retrospect, I would have had more pleasure biting into dog shit than shoving another piece of this gastronomic outrage into my mouth.

Cozy place, with space for outdoor/indoor dining. Delicious pizzas and flavorful, their pasta dish was also satisfying.

We celebrated my granddaughter's baptism at San Marco today! Thank you to everyone in the kitchen and service: fantastic! You exceeded our expectations! Finest Italian dishes, tasteful table decorations, very friendly and professional service, and a fantastic atmosphere! Highly recommended!

Overall not bad, but the lasagna was too tomato-y and not very salty, but the tortellini were tasty. Good location. Prices are not high.

Always a reasonably priced lunch menu. Very fast, friendly, and good service, which isn't always the case here in Flensburg, as they often only employ temporary staff. So, once again, very good service. And, of course, very good food. This also reflects positively on the price-performance ratio. All in all, if you love Italian cuisine, you'll be in good hands here.

Un des serveurs était plutot aimable, mais totalement incompétent, et le reste a résulté dans une cascade d'erreurs qui ont gaché le repas. Bien surveiller votre addition car on a voulu nous faire payer une bouteille de vin que nous n'avions pas commandé (19 euros tout de meme). Cuisine correcte mais l'ambiance extrèmement bruyante et surtout le service franchement pas aimable, qui en plus est incapable de faire suivre les éléments de la commande nous a gaché la soirée. A fuir.

On stage in Flensburg. unpleasant experience in this ordinary pizzeria. One of the servers was quite friendly, but totally incompetent, and the rest resulted in a cascade of errors that ruined the meal. The restaurant looks smaller from the outside than it is. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the service was friendly and attentive. I was thrilled with my meal (beef fillet tips), it was something different. However, the pizza eaters said that their pizza or the dough was not completely cooked. I also tried the pizza and I thought it was good. But tastes are different.

Unfortunately the service wasn't worth a tip. Too bad...

I had three files in red wine sauce with fried vegetables and potatoes and can only recommend it to everyone. The beef fillet was really spot on 😋. For dessert I had a lemon sorbet, which was pretty standard.

Four of us had dinner there. Rich food/drinks menu, well-kept rooms. But what stood out particularly positively was the super nice, friendly staff. We were very satisfied and gave it 5 out of 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars. I would even give 1⭐ more for the service if this were possible. Definitely recommended. Price was €20-30 per person for food, drinks and dessert.

Den dårligste oplevelse nogensinde. Hvis vi kunne have givet dem minus stjerner, havde vi gjort det! Bestiller to hovedretter, den ene en entrecote og bad om en medium stegt, ind kommer en rå bøf. Kalder på tjeneren og viser at den er rå og ikke medium. Tjeneren beder mig om at skære i midten, hvilket er noget svært med en sløv steakkniv, eftersom at bøffen er rå. Han godtager det og går tilbage med den. Herefter spiser min ledsager op og vi venter stadig på min mad. Endelig kommer den, men uden ny garniture (som har stået på bordet mens vi ventede på min mad). Jeg må bede en anden tjener om ny og varm garniture, men inden han er kommet afsted, skærer jeg i min nye entrecote, som om muligt er endnu mere rå. Tjeneren nr. To bliver kaldt tilbage og kan med det samme se, at den er helt gal. Herefter vælger jeg, at sige nej tak, til at vente yderligere 30 min. på bøf nr. 3. Jeg går op og vil betale for min ledsages mad og forventer ikke at skulle betale for min øl. Men næ nej, jeg må pænt betale for alt, undtagen min mad (som jeg jo ikke har fået, så meget som en bid af) og da jeg siger, at de altså ikke får nogle drikkepenge og at jeg syntes det er en øv oplevelse, trækker tjeneren nonchalant på skulderene og siger undskyld. Jeg kommer aldrig igen!!!

Nice place for lunch on the weekend. The meal is good for the price. Service is friendly and fast.

The worst experience ever. If we could have given them minus stars we would have! Ordered two main courses, one an entrecote and asked for a medium roast, in comes a raw steak. Calls the waiter and shows that it is raw and not medium. The waiter asks me to cut in the middle, which is somewhat difficult with a dull steak knife, since the steak is raw. He accepts it and goes back with it. After this, my companion eats up and we are still waiting for my food. Finally it arrives, but without a new garnish (which has been on the table while we waited for my food). I have to ask another waiter for new and hot side dishes, but before he leaves, I cut into my new entrecote, which is even more raw if possible. The servant no. Two are called back and can immediately see that it is completely crazy. After that, I choose to say no, thank you, to wait another 30 minutes. on steak no. 3. I get up and want to pay for my companion's food and don't expect to have to pay for my beer. But no, no, I have to pay handsomely for everything, except for my food (of which I haven't had so much as a bite) and when I say that they don't get any tips and that I thought it was a practice experience, the waiter nonchalantly shrugs his shoulders and says sorry. I will never come again!!!

The San Marco is a classic Italian. As the menu says, you have to be prepared for longer waiting times. The price-performance ratio is okay. For starters we had tomato mozzarella. For the main course, top with pizza and beef fillet. Unfortunately, we missed all of the dishes. If you expect something special, you won't get your money's worth. Unfortunately, the atmosphere outside wasn't particularly great either. The tables are very close together. The service is nice and our waitress did a good job, others didn't look very motivated. Unfortunately, the Italian atmosphere was completely missing. We were a little disappointed.

Price-performance absolutely justified! There was absolutely nothing to complain about when it came to different dishes. Everyone left the restaurant full and completely satisfied.

Nice service. But if you're really expecting Italian food, you're in the wrong place here. The noodles are mass-produced. The “Carbonara” with cream and pressed ham. The lasagne is also made with pressed ham, who makes something like that? No ragout, if you're lucky there's minced meat in it. The taste is okay for the price but by no means an “Italian”. If you want German-Italian mixed cuisine at a reasonable price, this might be the right place for you. The ambience also leaves a lot to be desired - radio pop music is played.

Highly recommended. Everything is just right.

Lovely reception, rustic decor. A lot was to be expected. Unfortunately the pizza was nothing. The dough was neither Roman nor Neapolitan. The Gorgonzola we ordered specially consisted of two small pieces. The spinach pasta was totally tasteless. Cream and pasta water... There wasn't much else in it. The espresso also tasted like dishwashing liquid. For me it was one of the worst things about Italian food.

There were 4 of us on January 11th. there. It was my daughter's birthday. The food wasn't warm. The lasagne was not thawed properly. Very bad food. I didn't want to ruin my daughter's day. Very unfortunate

Very friendly staff and good service

Friendly, courteous and very good service - the team was very humorous, uncomplicated and totally on their toes. The food (Vitello Tonnato was great!) tasted very good and even without a reservation we managed to get a seat with three people. Cozy atmosphere where it's fun to stop by. There is also delicious and well-tapped beer from the “Brauerei Hansens” from Flensburg. Keep it up and see you soon!

We ate at San Marco today, unfortunately my friend (Muslim) had ham in her vegetarian pasta dish. She noticed this after a few spoonfuls, whereupon she apologized and was offered a hot drink. When the bill came, the dish was listed on the bill, unfortunately I had to point out to the waiter myself that we would not be paying for the dish.

Good food, reasonable prices and a nice staff can be recommended.

The three of us visited the restaurant without a reservation. The orders were taken quickly by the friendly service. The drinks we ordered came to the table promptly and the food we ordered also arrived in an absolutely acceptable time.

After we had to wait 5 minutes until a mini table was assigned to us in the almost empty restaurant in the afternoon, we were served the worst parmesan spaghetti ever (without truffles. That was "out")... a single tasteless mush ! Our complaint was acknowledged, but that was it. Conclusion: Never go there again!!!

Different, apparently the time is a factor. I've been there 3 times during the week and at lunchtime during the week the food was great and the service was very good. On the weekend the service was overcrowded and too loud and inattentive.

Unfortunately, the food tasted very sober and wasn't really appealing, the ingredients weren't there as stated on the menu, even the wait for the bill unfortunately took longer than usual in other restaurants, All in all the worst Italian in Flensburg! Too bad, San Marco.

Unfortunately, there is no longer the delicious pizza as it was back then, it looks more like it comes from a snack bar. Some of the pasta dishes are also unseasoned. But the salads are highly recommended but unfortunately not vegetarian.

Fastän restaurangen ligger på gågatan så är det ingen turistfälla, här är det äkta italienskt. Vi fick dela en pizza och dela en flaska rödvin, allt var perfekt. Dessutom riktigt bra kunnig personal.
