Moderate food: Bland and too fatty

Invited for a birthday: Saturday evening, we had a reservation with our two dogs. The table was perfect, quiet, and tucked away in a corner... very relaxing. My favorite pizza, Margherita with anchovies, wasn't on the menu. However, they made it available upon request, and it was the best pizza I've had in ages! 😋 The service was excellent—very attentive, friendly, and accommodating. The prices are reasonable and appropriate for the food and atmosphere. We were thrilled, felt truly welcome, and will definitely be back. A well-deserved 5 stars, highly recommended.

Friendly staff and delicious food

The food was very good, and the service was also very attentive – quite appropriate for the higher prices. However, what was completely unacceptable was that the owner himself informed every guest who arrived for lunch an hour before closing time that they would be closing at 2:30 pm and there wouldn't be much time left to eat. When one guest pointed out that it was still almost an hour until then and they just wanted to grab some pasta, he corrected him, saying it was only 40 minutes; which wasn't true: there were still a good 50 minutes left 😌, if you're going to be so pedantic about the minutes. After our meal, at 2:04 pm, the very attentive waiter offered us dessert or espresso, which we declined, considering his boss was already impatiently waiting for the end of the shift. The boss had been slouching on a bar stool at the counter with his tablet the entire time and hadn't even acknowledged his guests as he was leaving. ... If you're going to try to act like a high-end Italian restaurant, you shouldn't necessarily make paying guests feel unwelcome. We definitely won't be eating here again.

Nice service. Very busy, you have to make a reservation. I found it too expensive.

In short: Our ordered dishes were very good. Nothing to complain about. The prices are absolutely reasonable. The dining room, however, is very loud (despite soundproofing on one or two walls), and the tables are very close together. The ice-cold, super-delicious aperitif (Spedy) is constantly dripping down the glass, quickly transforming the table into a lakeside setting. A napkin under the drink would have been great. The parking lot is absolutely awfully lit. Given the excellent food, a solid three. 😎

We made a reservation online and even received a confirmation the day before our visit, but then we ended up finding the door locked. This isn't exactly what you'd expect from a birthday dinner. We've always enjoyed eating at Acquarello.

Carbonara with cream sauce - that says it all about the quality of this "Italian"

Update on the staff: it's improved, more professional. One more star. The food is very good, but given the high prices, I simply expect a bit more on and off the plate, like side dishes and/or a salad. And if you're going to act like an upscale Italian, the staff should be as well. While it's nice, their casual, snotty manner makes them more suited to a student bar.

We dined there on Friday evening with a group of 11 people and had a suitable, quiet booth for ourselves. The food was excellent and the service very attentive. Unfortunately, some of the other reviews here are quite controversial, which I can't understand at all.

We were there for lunch and were able to sit outside in the garden in the beautiful weather. I've also eaten in the restaurant. The garden, as well as the restaurant, offer a very nice, quiet, and relaxed ambiance that's hard to beat in Flensburg. The service is also good – attentive and quick, yet unobtrusive. This time I ate homemade spaghetti with shrimp in a lemon and white wine sauce. The spaghetti was a bit too al denté, but the sauce was well-seasoned and delicious. There were 8 (!) shrimp, which tasted okay, but they were by far the toughest I've ever eaten. I could hardly bite through them. What a shame! Three points for the food anyway, because the tortellini was okay and I also liked the pasta with strips of beef fillet. Unfortunately, my wife didn't, because the dish came with tomato sauce, which wasn't indicated on the menu. To finish, we had homemade tiramisu, delicious, but I missed the amaretto. My wife really enjoyed this version, so it's perfect for children. We'll be back anyway; we were just a little unlucky this time; it was better on our previous visits.

The drink selection is very limited. The dishes we ordered were okay. The gnochi with Gorgonzola was very intense and sticky, while the gnochi with vegetables and lemon sauce was extremely sour. We were thrilled with the bruschetta and the bread. The pizzas are absolutely not recommended. They looked more like a frozen pizza from Aldi, were poorly presented, and were far too crispy. Overall, the products were completely overpriced. If you're charging such prices, the selection, including the food and drinks, must be 100% decent.

Worst pizza I've eaten in a long time. Just cheese smothered all over everything, and some of it was cooked black. Also, there was way too much oil everywhere. And all that for €15.00. Overall, the value for money and the quality of the food don't match the, in my opinion, completely overpriced prices. Our friends' pasta was okay, but definitely don't eat pizza there! You can get better pizza at any kebab shop for half the price there.

We made reservations here in advance, which was appropriate for a weekend. The food was excellent, plenty for a woman. We had really friendly and attentive service. The interior design could definitely do with some improvement, and the restrooms were pretty substandard, and not just from the day before. The outdoor area was rather rustic, and parking was no problem.

Not sure . We were a large groupe bit still I found the price too high for what you get and it do not pay for the place either . I had bruncheta , pizza Pavaroti and then creme brule as desert . Bruncheta was OK. Pizza was not great and furniture on top just about in taste and quantity . Then the creme brulè was not set ... . I would not recommend

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We ate at Aquarello with a group of 22 people – and what can I say: It was simply fantastic! The fact that we were all able to order à la carte and no one had to wait long was impressive. The service was consistently friendly, fast, and professional. I would especially like to mention our wonderful waitress, Nadine: She was attentive, charming, and always kept an eye on things to make sure no one was left wanting – it couldn't be better! Thank you for this fantastic evening. We'll definitely be back!

Italian restaurant by the Flensburg fjord that does more than Italian. Good service and staff who also speak Danish

Very good restaurant. We ate there twice. All the fish and meat dishes were delicious. The second time, we had pizza and a salad. Unfortunately, neither dish was exceptional; the salad was disappointing, even with the dressing. Our feedback was received competently and confidently. Therefore, our star recommendation applies only to the meat and fish dishes and the wines.

Overall, it was really, really good. From the food to the service, everything was really excellent. We'll be back regularly and happily. Our favorite Italian restaurant in Flensburg.

Scampi too hard And poor service

Friendly staff, tasty food, good portions and reasonable prices

Well, first of all, it all starts with the ambience, followed by our not-so-easy dog. The ambience, located near the fjord under beautiful old shady trees, meant we were among the first guests of the day. Our dog is insecure and anxious; he growls at waiters and waitresses. Despite this, he was not only welcome; it was a little training session for him. The brave waitress made it clear to him that this did not impress her. Wow! Brave! But this extremely friendly woman won our hearts for more than just that. Every guest and every chef wishes for a courteous and attentive manner with the finest service. ❤️ Now for the food: we had fantastic fresh bruschetta and a perfectly seared tuna steak with spinach and rosemary potatoes. In short, we left the restaurant happy and in love!

I thought the food was good, but the price was far too high.

During the off-season, on weekdays, in the early evening, it's very pleasant and not too crowded. The service and advice were very friendly and good. The food was delicious and the value for money was good. Not cheap, but still reasonable! The ambiance is appealing and modern. The drinks menu is appealing.

Great location, nice atmosphere, very attentive service and delicious dishes. A visit that all five guests enjoyed.

We were there for the first time and felt very comfortable straight away, the service was very nice, we even gave our dog plenty of water. Everything was great, we will go there again. Can only recommend it!!!!

The restaurant is very nice, but the boss is very unfriendly, you couldn't order the surprise menu as an individual but only the whole table.

The food is really excellent (lamb with pistachio crust, tiger prawns in Gorgonzola sauce and pizza Pavarotti) and the ambience is very elegant and tasteful. This means that the high prices are justified...BUT: that's exactly why I expect correspondingly excellent service. That, on the other hand, was disappointing: rustic chatter, incomprehensible mumbling when the wines were presented and flippant comments about the leftover pizza crust - that's NOT possible at all! Either continue to have exclusive cuisine and then appropriately trained staff OR student-style service and simple cuisine at normal prices!

We live in Solitüde and have been visiting this restaurant regularly for many years, even at Christmas and other special occasions, to our complete satisfaction. On our last visits, we were treated so listlessly by a new waitress, a young lady, and so unfriendly to our guests' questions that we left the "Acqua" disappointed for the first time. It's a shame, because Nino, Carmine, and Stelio still valued their regular customers...

A piece of Italy in the heart of the city I had the pleasure of visiting Ristorante Acqua and it was an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere was authentic and cozy, with decor that transports you straight to Italy. The menu offers a wonderful selection of Italian classics, and the quality of the ingredients is clearly evident. and it was absolutely delicious – the taste was fresh, balanced and full of flavors. The service was equally impressive. The staff was friendly, attentive and knew exactly what recommendations to give. I particularly liked the fact that they take the time to welcome their guests. The price-performance ratio is also absolutely right. The prices are more than fair for the high quality of the food and the excellent service. I can recommend Ristorante Acqua to anyone who wants to enjoy authentic Italian cuisine in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I'm looking forward to it soon Ali Düsmez❤️

We have been coming here with the family for years on occasions such as birthdays etc and we always have a lovely time here. Cozy atmosphere, delicious food, also a selection for vegetarians. Children are welcome, there are high chairs available and the children are allowed to move freely in the restaurant and do not have to sit in their seats all evening. Very child friendly!

At least some of the staff are very good, obliging and in a good mood. Nice atmosphere, although a bit "stuffed"; Sometimes you sit almost elbow to elbow with your neighbor at the next table. Good, varied menu. In keeping with the claim, prices are high, but not outrageous. Day ticket with e.g. B. Dry Aged Beef. The latter was okay – but nothing more. Ordered medium, although I actually prefer medium rare; But that was too risky for me the first time. Good thing, de facto it was medium rare, at least in places. Both pasta dishes were okay – but also deadly boring. No kick, no complex flavors, definitely reproducible at home straight from the bag. Adequate portions all; Although I'm not entirely convinced that the 350g stated was actually on the plate for the rib eye. But that is just a “gut feeling” and is not viewed negatively. Conclusion? Failed because of their own demands. The better is the enemy of the good; and the better one is the San Remo in Holnis Drei. EDIT: The San Remo has "opened up" and only gets three points from us.

The restaurant is very nicely designed and at our time it was already full at 6:30 p.m. Pizza delicious and staff very attentive. Clear recommendation. Unfortunately it was already dark, you should have a good view of the sea.

Meine Frau und ich sind oft und gern Gäste im Acquarello. Auch diesmal haben wir den Aufenthalt genossen. Die Speisen waren wunderbar, die Mitarbeiter freundlich und die gesamte Atmosphäre angenehm. Wir haben uns wiederum ausgesprochen wohl gefühlt!

The service was great, friendly staff even with many guests, very quick and attentive. At the end there was even a grappa on the house. The food is delicious. We went there twice within a few days because we liked it so much the first time. No matter whether fish, pasta, pizza or salad. It's all ok. Highly recommended. Definitely make a reservation!

A very nice restaurant right on the Flensburg fjord. Just a short walk to the beach. And it's great there too. The food was delicious and the service was friendly.

The food was first class. Absolutely recommended. The service was quick, but could have been a little friendlier, so a point was deducted. Our wishes were taken into account. Everything came as ordered. The garden is awesome. It's like sitting in an oasis. You have to visit this restaurant!

I've never experienced anything like this before. I ordered a rump steak medium with chanterelles. The first steak was almost cooked through and the chanterelles had sand in every bite. I complained about this and got a new steak that was fried in a very English way, i.e. completely raw in the middle. I complained again and after the third attempt I finally got a medium fried steak. Yay! And finally I order a normal FritzCola. What do I get: FritzCola Light. Oh man, what's going on. Let's be honest people! And best of all, for such a disaster nothing was offered as an apology or taken off the bill. That doesn't work at all! You have such a nice restaurant, it's a shame...

Leckeres Essen bei charmanten Service und toller Lage

Wir lieben das Restaurant Aquarello sehr, das Essen, der Service, das Ambiente: alles stimmt. Gestern haben 3 von uns den köstlichen schottischen Lachs gegessen, einer ein ebenso köstliches Saltimbocca. Die Beilagensalate gab es großzügig vorweg. Das Essen ist immer super, wir waren noch nie unzufrieden. Der Service super freundlich und aufmerksam. Sir kommen super gerne wieder.

Clean and tidy, food good, unfortunately manageable (not for the very hungry) the service is either new or inexperienced, tried hard but when there is stress the cheerfulness and relaxedness always falls by the wayside. Will test it again in the fall.

Die weibliche Bedienung war hervorragend,sehr freundlich,aufmerksam.Die männliche eine Zumutung.Nachdem er die Teigummantelung aufgeschnitten hatte,deutete er auf den Bauch meines Begleiters,deutete in der Luft an,machte dazu das Geräusch entweichender Luft,eine Ungezogenheit,der wir peinlich berührt,keinen Kommentar geschenkt haben

Waren schon häufig dort essen. Wie immer wurden wir nicht enttäuscht. Sowohl das Essen wie das Ambiente und der Service waren sehr, sehr gut. Die Preise sind angemessen für das was man bekommt.
