Excellent experience! The ambience is reminiscent of old Russian films about life in the 19th century. All around are artifacts from old Russian life, which is described in the works of Gogol, Dostoyevsky and Tolstoy. The food exceeded my expectations. I was skeptical at first, but after the first bite it was clear to me that I was being served the real bilnys with meat and mushrooms, pelmeni and vareniki. And the tea was served in the best traditional Russian way, which I didn't expect at all. The staff and the owner of the restaurant were very friendly and nice. You can see how much love and effort has been put into this restaurant. And that's progressing. In short, I felt like I was at home here and not in a restaurant.

Good vibes of classical Russian, Ukraine and other close countries. Taste of childhood with good exotic quality. Really recommend if you want to try true slavic kitchen (soup, borch, blinchik, etc.)

Good restaurant, 4-star food. Service is 5 stars. There is a menu in several languages, including Russian. A couple of parking spaces along the street will obviously always be full, so look for spare parking immediately. It is advisable to make a reservation, but they found us a table on Saturday evening during the park hours.

We had just flown in from the US and by the time we had settled in our apartment, it was after 10pm. Luckily we discovered Samowar nearby, and they were still open. Samowar serves typical Russian dishes. It was a beautiful, warm summer evening so we dined on the patio in front of the restaurant. We started with Borshch-Ukrainskij, a traditional beetroot-cabbage-beef soup with sour cream and herbs accompanied by a garlic and herb roll. For the main course we both had Shashlyk, a traditional Georgian speciality prepared on their own lava-rock grill and served with a spicy shashlyk sauce, grilled potatoes and vegetables with homemade garlic mayonnaise. We had lamb and the traditional pork (made from Spanish Duroc pig). Service was very good, attentive, but not overly so.

The deliciousness, quality and taste made me go to this restaurant 2 days in a row. Shaslik is the best I've eaten in recent years.

Very nice and authentic restaurant. Pretty busy, but got a table without a reservation. The waiter Igor is very friendly and gives information about the dishes if necessary. The portions are very LARGE, so think carefully about what you order! 😄

In my opinion, it is one of the most iconic restaurants in Berlin. A Russian restaurant right next to Charlottenburg Palace. The food is different and delicious. Tea service is very good. The employees are very helpful. The place is also very interesting. As the name suggests, there are a lot of samovars.

We arrived at 10 p.m. and were warmly served, the food was delicious. The furnishings are with great attention to detail and you feel like you have been transported back to the time of the tsars.

We always enjoy going here with the family. The dishes are fresh and taste excellent. The Napoleon cake is particularly recommended as a dessert. The service is also very attentive, makes recommendations and is always courteous. Thank you!

Delicious food, just like homemade

It was an incomparable pleasure to dine at the exquisite Samovar Restaurant. The pelmeni, an ode to the sublime art of culinary culture, revealed themselves as a subtle composition of perfect textures and taste sophistication. The delicately coated dough, enveloping like a silk veil, contained a filling whose flavors merged in sublime harmony. The presentation of the sour cream, of exquisite lightness, formed a contrapuntal element of refreshing succinctness. The service was of exemplary discretion and unobtrusive noblesse. Samovar is like a refuge of elevated sensual pleasures that delights the most sophisticated palate.

In this restaurant you can expect incredibly good service and the food is in no way inferior. The taste of the dishes is unsurpassed.

Very tasty, I especially liked the okroshka with kvass in the summer. It's a shame that it's only served seasonally.

Not happy, especially with the service. We came during the day on a weekend, there weren't very many people. Our 3 dishes waited more than 40 minutes, and we asked for them together and were brought separately. We ordered another drink - they completely forgot it. The hot dishes that were brought - beef stroganoff, ribs and Kiev cutlet - were delicious, but in my opinion, the price was unreasonably high at 26-30 per dish. (There was no fancy haute cuisine, just normally tasty, highly salted food)

We were dprt on our first evening in Berlin. A truly authentic experience with extremely delicious food. We were so impressed by the restaurant that we made another reservation to try other dishes.

I recently visited this local business with a friend, 30 minute before opening while a woman outside was prepping chairs and we encountered an extremely uncomfortable situation. Despite offering to pay for restroom access, my friend was denied permission to use the facilities. The nearest public restrooms were too far away, leaving us in an awkward position. While I understand businesses have policies regarding restroom usage, completely denying access to a customer who offers to pay is unacceptable. This lack of accommodation led to an uncomfortable and inconvenient experience for both of us. I hope the business will reconsider their policy on restroom access.

I would particularly like to emphasize the authentic taste and variety of the dishes on offer. The vodka was also excellent and rounded off the culinary experience perfectly. The atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant and inviting. The ambience radiated warmth and made you immediately feel at home. The furnishings and decorations created an authentic Russian atmosphere that underlined the charm of the establishment. Overall, my visit to this Russian restaurant was a complete success. Vous traversez la rue après la visite du château de Charlottenburg et vous vous retrouvez dans une ambiance très calme et très accueillante. Un peu le rappel du restaurant du dimanche avec les parents il y a 50 ans. Chouette expérience et les plats sont à la hauteur du décor.

Si lujos pero todo en su sitio y bien cocinado. Sencillo y recomendable, junto al palacio de Charlotenbug. Comida rusa y algún plato italiano y alemán. Buenas y variadas cervezas. Platos de caza, blinis, esturión o salchichas y alguna pasta. Postres rusos que puede. Tomarse con té o café. El servicio de té ruso en encantador. El interior bien decorado estilo antiguo ruso.

Right by Charlottenburg and a great stop for freshly made food that is out of this world! Homemade raspberry iced tea, excellent beer and the food is absolutely delicious. I feel you cannot go wrong with anything on their menu. My family and I ordered 3 different dishes and all of them were perfection in a plate. Well worth the trip if you’d like a great dining experience. Cannot recommend enough and would come back if I am ever back in Berlin. The service is also fantastic! Highly recommend the napoleon homemade dessert!

From my side I can only recommend the samovar. When I went to eat at the Samovar with my wife, it was our anniversary, we were warmly welcomed and shown to our beautifully decorated table. Live Russian folk music played in the background. We ordered a mix of pelmeni and vareniky as a starter, and for soup we had the traditional bortsch and a game cream soup. For the main course we had a game platter for two people, the beautifully decorated plate consisted of elk meatballs, roast venison, roast venison, roast elk and roast wild boar with croquettes and red cabbage and an excellent selection of game cream sauces. For dessert we had a Sirnicki and I treated myself to hot figs on vanilla ice cream. This was a wonderful evening with friendly service and excellent food. Everything was fresh and hot. I can only recommend the samovar at this point.

The interiors are so beautiful snd perfect for a cozy fall or winter evening. But since it’s summer, we sat outside. The food is really well made. We ordered borscht, blini, vareniki, and the assorted pickles. Everything’s was prepared to the point and served beautifully. The pickles, which included delicate yellow patisson squash were tender and lightly salted, exactly like homemade. The cake ‘Napoleon’ at the end was gorgeous! Light and flaky with a proper cooked cream. Everything was beautiful presented. My only wish would be that borscht was served with traditional black bread instead of the white bun, which was cute and delicious, but bland bread is what I expected. Also, the presentation of the mors could be a bit better. I asked for a hot mors and what I got is a tall glass with cold mors at the bottom and hot mors on top. Served hot in a cup with some decoration would have been more satisfying. The taste (unlike all the other dishes) didn’t blow me away. All in all a beautiful place with utterly delicious food and very friendly service. Thank you very much! PS. Unfortunately we forget to take photos as we were trying to wrangle a little messy toddler and eat at the same time.

Just like 2 years ago, it was an absolute culinary delight. Had borscht with a pierogi and the famous Napoleon cake for dessert, both to die for! ❤️ The restaurant is also very cozy and the staff is very friendly. I'm already looking forward to the next time. :-)

Wir waren am Freitagabend spontan auf der Suche nach einem Restaurant, dass etwas Anderes als Pasta, Pizza, Sushi, Pho, Schnitzel, Burger.... zu bieten hat. Gestoßen sind wir auf das Restaurant Samowar. Nach einem sehr herzlichen Willkommen, einer tollen Tischwahl mit dem Hinweis "...Da kommt noch gleich eine Gruppe, es könnte lauter werden..., nehmen Sie doch in diesem Raum Platz..." Zwei sehr nette, zuvorkommende Kellner kümmerten sich rührend um uns, schnell bekamen wir unsere Getränke, wurden wir gefragt, ob alles in Ordnung sei und ob wir schon einen Essenswunsch hätten. Unsere Auswahl fiel auf den Vorspeisenteller, der locker für uns beide reichte, und auf den Grillteller (Schaschlik) für 2 Personen. Uns erwartete eine Geschmacksexplosion, das Essen war einfach nur göttlich!!! Von ganzen Herzen wollen wir uns bei den Betreibern und ihrem Personal bedanken. Wie versprochen: Wir kommen wieder! The restaurant is very pleasant and interesting. A fairly large menu of dishes familiar to Slavic people. And I want to try literally everything! Interestingly, when ordering soups, you can choose the serving size. More or less. this increases the chances of trying more dishes)) I ordered hodgepodge and herring under a fur coat. Everything is delicious. The presentation is beautiful! The only thing is that the herring seemed a little dry to me. But this did not overshadow the overall positive impression! The service is good. But at the moment of large seating, it is clear that 2 waiters are not quite enough.

The location is exciting and you feel like you are in Russia. Food was delicious, great selection and beautifully prepared! I was able to taste everything that interested me. I even drink tea sometimes. The blinys and the Napoleon cake were particularly good! Prices ok, main courses a bit high. Service is friendly, but not enough attention is paid to the guest. We wanted to ask for something and order something for a long time, but it wasn't possible because the service was often short in the room, but didn't look around or ask. This meant we were there longer as planned. The starter came together with a main course, and long afterwards the second main course came separately. There was certainly a lot going on and some dishes took longer because they were freshly prepared, but then the serving had to be adjusted better. So you have the feeling, even if it's not the case, that something has been forgotten, but you hardly have the opportunity to ask what caused us some stress. Because everything else was great, I have recommended the restaurant many times.

A great restaurant decorated in a traditional Russian/Ukrainian style with extremely friendly staff. The food is very tasty and authentic, has a great presentation and the portions are more than large enough. We have been there several times and can recommend every dish without exception.

We‘ve eaten here many times in the last few years and have always been more than satisfied. The food is delicious, the staff are very professional and polite, and we can especially recommend the Medovik (honey cake) with Tschai (traditional tea).

Russian Ukrainian restaurant with a lot of flair. A bit inconspicuous from the outside, but really rustic inside. Some of the food is really spectacular. But you really have to be really hungry. Portions are really big and the staff is really attentive and friendly. I can only recommend the restaurant. I had forgotten that: not necessarily something for vegetarians.😂

Rarely have we had such good food. We had made a reservation for a Saturday, but we didn't really need it and were accommodated in the restaurant. The ambience is ok but appropriate for the restaurant. Our food was very tasty. The recommendation of the day was the fish soup, wow, very tasty soup We also had Pemeni and Sirnik, both dishes were very tasty. Everything was perfect that evening.

Super delicious food. I have ordered quite a few things from this restaurant. But my favorite dish here is the veal liver. I'm happy every year when it gets colder and you can finally enjoy such hearty dishes again! The liver is extremely well seasoned and harmonizes very well with the sweet apples and caramelized onions 😋😋. The staff is super friendly. The dining room is decorated with antiques. It makes an inviting impression and is reminiscent of a mixture of an old tea room and grandma's house.

My husband and I recently visited a restaurant renowned for its authentic atmosphere and stunning location. However, we encountered difficulty finding parking. Despite the premium pricing, which led us to anticipate high-quality dishes, the menu selections were delightful; we indulged in pelmeni, seafood soup, and Napoleon cake, all of which were exceptionally flavorful. The waiter was notably nice and professional, enhancing our dining experience. Unfortunately, our evening took a turn for the worse when we experienced significant discomfort, including heartburn and severe gas that lasted until the middle of the night, akin to feeling like inflated balloons. Ordinarily, we adhere to a diet consisting of natural foods free from harmful additives and prioritize the use of high-quality oils. Our adverse reactions suggest the possibility of low-quality ingredients or the use of artificial additives in the food we consumed. This experience was disheartening, especially considering our fondness for the restaurant's ambiance and our expectations based on the price. Unfortunately, the digestive issues we faced outweigh the establishment's positive attributes, making it unlikely for us to return.

Visited the Samovar restaurant with a friend, at a time when other restaurants could no longer serve food because it was too late. We were satisfied because the service was at a high level, we were greeted, seated at the table we wanted and deliciously fed. Delicious solyanka, salad "fur coat" and cheesecakes with cheese. I would have eaten something else, but it was too late 😀

The borscht is quite tomato-y, which the solyanka unfortunately lacks a bit... Both soups are still very tasty and rich and would be a hit in combination... The sturgeon lick is definitely recommended. Really a different kind of fish, very tender and simply delicious... The coarsely chopped and briefly grilled vegetables served with it were also simply great... The beef fillet also pleased not only the eye but also the palate. The Russian classics like bliny, vareniki and pelmini were quite tasty, but the filling was a bit bland here and there. The tea arrangements on offer are really great and delicious... Overall really nice...

The place is beautiful, to say the least. Alas, the temperature is not very pleasant, so to speak, it’s impossible to relax... We ordered two dishes, meat in a pot and Stroganoff. If it was still in the pot, it was edible but tasteless, then I highly do not recommend Stroganoff for consumption... Heavy cream, frying is also all in oil, this story is served with small French fries and fried cheese, a very fatty dish impossible to eat... The second dish I I wonder how vegetables and meat in a pot can be cooked tasteless?! In general, 30% of the food was eaten, quickly paid and it was advisable to go home to eat properly... It wasn’t very nice to spend a lot of money and after a frank conversation not get even a small discount... Although the waiters are nice people. I would like to note that, however, the cabbage pie was wonderful.

For soup 9.5 € - standard and 12.5 € for a large portion. Kvass (0.4l) - 5€. The service is excellent. Everyone is very attentive and tries to make your visit memorable. ❗️The only thing is that waiters sometimes come 3 times with the same questions, as if they haven’t allocated service areas/tables. 🥂The place is ideal for any celebration, tourists or an unusual evening with the atmosphere of Russian cuisine of the 70-80s
