Salsarico Restaurant in Rostock

We were there with the whole family on the weekend of the fourth Sunday of Advent. We had reserved a table, which we were shown to. Unfortunately, we were surrounded by two groups of very drunk men. After a brief inquiry, however, we were moved, and were then able to hear each other and have a conversation. The staff were incredibly friendly and always attentive. We all enjoyed the food, which was also prepared relatively quickly. However, the Mexican-style sausages we ordered as a digestif cost €5 each, which is simply too expensive.

All in all, it was a great evening at Salarico. The food was delicious and arrived quickly, and the service was excellent. The only downside was that it was quite cramped. But I'd gladly go again.

After almost 20 years, I was here again and wasn't disappointed. The food was very good and the service was perfect 👍🏼

I had a great time at Salsarico. The food and the cocktails were delicious! I'm really glad I booked a table beforehand because when we arrived at the restaurant there was already a queue of people waiting for the restaurant to open.

Great staff... we went three times without a reservation... it worked out fine though... but a reservation is definitely an advantage... delicious food... delicious cocktails and every time a fun and lively evening... super friendly staff!

I'm a regular customer at this restaurant and have been here at least 15 times. Until now, both the food and the service have always been reliable, even when it was very busy. However, today is Monday and many tables were empty. Despite this, we waited a full 45 minutes for our food after ordering. Even a portion of fries took 45 minutes. I complained to two servers, but both simply said this was a normal wait time. There was neither an explanation nor an apology. Very disappointed.

The food prices are very reasonable. There's a large selection of Mexican dishes. Unfortunately, the different dishes at our table all tasted similar, and the special something we had hoped for was missing. Our reservation ended up at a very small table, and we practically had to stack our plates, leaving other, larger tables empty. A shame.

It was fantastic. From the service, which was ALWAYS available, to the food, which was perfectly portioned. I left feeling very full (which isn't always the case), and I think €14 is a great price. The atmosphere was lovely. We spontaneously decided to stay longer because it was so pleasant. He even handled my quirk (I don't like having my Coke poured) with great ease and was very friendly.

The kangaroo steak is not recommended. I wouldn't choose it again. 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿

Our reservation couldn't be found, which wasn't a problem because there were plenty of seats available :-) We had a very tasty chicken burrito, based on the waiter's recommendation. Friendly and attentive staff, lovely decor! Good cocktails. We'd gladly come again!

A cozy restaurant with good food and delicious cocktails. Highly recommended!

We were really looking forward to a great evening and had reserved a table for our group. When we arrived 10 minutes before our reservation, we were told they had forgotten about us and no table was available. That was disappointing to hear. However, they kindly made a table available due to the mistake, so after a short wait, we were able to get a table after all – that was really great! The atmosphere inside was also fantastic. Then the evening began, and we ordered all the drinks and a few snacks. The drinks arrived very quickly, but all the food was forgotten. I would have liked to review the food in more detail, but we didn't receive any. We would also have liked to order more, but the service and any follow-up questions were slow in coming. The real kicker came when we went to pay. I only had one drink (since my food had been forgotten). Although I didn't want to leave a tip, the price was simply rounded up to the nearest euro without my input. This even happened to other members of our group. This way, they can obviously pocket the tip for the lack of service. To top it all off, we were given a slamming door as we left. All in all, rather unfriendly. Not recommended for large groups. A real shame!

A nice and very reasonably priced restaurant with friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere. We had a burrito and a burger, both very tasty. The side dishes were also perfectly fine; the price/performance ratio is excellent! There's a cocktail happy hour from 5 to 7 pm, so it's easy to indulge in an extra one. In short: You can always spend a pleasant evening there with friends.

We ate here as part of our company outing and were very satisfied overall. The food was absolutely delicious, the portions were generous, and the value for money was excellent. The service was also very friendly, attentive, and quick – food and drinks arrived promptly. One small thing we noticed: the air in the restaurant was unfortunately quite stuffy. It was very crowded, and as a result, it quickly became uncomfortably warm. The server kindly opened a window, but with so many guests, it wasn't quite enough. Nevertheless, all in all, a really lovely visit – we would definitely come back! 🌮😊

Never-ending ribs on Monday evening, absolutely recommended....

To the Management, This review concerns the restaurant's takeout service. Unfortunately, it's abysmal! I ordered food today, Wednesday, at 7:07 PM, and it still hadn't arrived by 9:00 PM. That can happen occasionally, but when you call as a customer and are then put through to the kitchen, and no one introduces themselves by name on the phone, and when you ask the employee when the order will arrive, only to receive curt answers, no handling of complaints, and no information about compensation, and are even given the wrong name intentionally by an employee who claims to be "Jens Meier," it's no longer funny! Unfortunately, this is very unprofessional and needs a new job or some training in etiquette. I've been a customer of this restaurant for years since it opened and am very disappointed with the customer service, especially at this level for takeout. However, it's also very important to me to exclude the restaurant staff from this review. They continue to do their jobs with dedication and professionalism; keep it up! You always get 5 stars from me.

I'm by no means an expert in Mexican cuisine...I don't need to have it again after my first visit...but that's a matter of taste...the service is very attentive despite the staffing shortage...but I think a good restaurant stands or falls with the food. If you like it, and many do...why not...

Actually, a great restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. We ordered online on Sunday. The two-hour wait was fine. However, a baked potato and a Coke were missing. Even after calling twice, the missing items were neither delivered nor refunded. Absolutely not a good place!

Delicious food, but relatively loud and hectic

Very nice Mexican restaurant. The chicken in my enchilada was very well seasoned, but not too spicy, and the Mexican Dream cocktail was also very good. Both were beautifully presented.

Let me be frank. The food is abismal. You're going for the drinks if anything. Any attempt to call this a Mexican place or a Tex-Mex place is an insult. Cheap ingredients thrown together to make a ok at best meal is unacceptable when there are so many good and better options in Rostock. I have been boycotting this place for the past two years but yesterday I went back to try it again for someone else's birthday and somehow it's even worse than I remember. At least make your tortillas from scratch. It's not hard. And a salad like thing next to it is just wrong. Where are the refried beans or the Mexican rice? As someone who grew up in a Mexican household and had a lot of Tex-Mex restaurants growing up I stand by my boycott and am actively considering opening up my own restaurant purely to prove a point.

We had arranged to meet with a larger group (about 20 people) at Salsarico in Rostock. A friend and I arrived a little early and wanted to use the waiting time to grab a bite to eat. However, the chef told us that we wouldn't get our food until all the guests had arrived and ordered (about 30 minutes). It was already 10:30 p.m., and there weren't that many new tables being added. To be more precise, ours was the last one that was still "new" that evening. We were refused the food we had already ordered without any comprehensible explanation. We even had to order it twice because the kitchen simply canceled it. To me, that seems like a complete lack of understanding of how they treat guests. When they simply booked the food for a small, free table next door, it suddenly worked and, whoosh, it was there. We're certain: Under these conditions, we won't be visiting Salsarico again anytime soon. Anyone expecting customer-oriented thinking (from the chef) will be disappointed here.

A very nice restaurant with delicious food. The portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. We didn't have to wait unusually long for our food. The service was very attentive, friendly, and competent, even though they were clearly at capacity. We would come back anytime.

Highly recommended. Tex-Mex cuisine with reasonable prices, generous portions, and absolutely delicious. Beer is served in buckets, and cocktails are sometimes served in glass jars. The crowd is young, and sometimes a bit loud. Overall, highly recommended.

We ate at Salsarico on a Saturday evening with a reservation. Unfortunately, we were given a table right by the entrance. The restaurant door was open the whole time, and it was very drafty, making it very uncomfortable to eat even with a jacket on. Unfortunately, it wasn't possible to change tables. We had ensiladas and a burger. The ensilada was very tasty. The burger was okay, but it was quite dry and had hardly any toppings other than the meat. The sides of curly fries and sweet potato fries were delicious.

We used to love going there and went there often, and yesterday it was finally time again! It was very crowded, and the wait time was longer than usual (although it was announced right at the entrance). But that didn't spoil the visit or make it any less enjoyable. The food arrived relatively quickly and was very tasty. Next time, the chili could be a bit hotter, but it was still a great meal, and we'll be back!

It was our first time there. The food wasn't anything special. The taste was okay. The service was good. But what was absolutely unacceptable was the extreme noise level. It's almost quieter at the Ostseestadion.

Highly recommended. Super delicious. The service is exceptionally attentive. The food is delicious, and there's plenty for vegetarians, too. We'll be back.

Delicious food and great cocktails

I used to love coming here and unfortunately realized that it's not as nice as it used to be. Positive: The ambiance is still nice. The service was very attentive and friendly, and the cocktails were delicious and okay for the price. Drinks are good here. Negative: We waited almost an hour for the food, which wouldn't have been a problem if it had been really good. Also, burgers, burritos, tacos, etc. are usually quick to make. The dishes weren't very creative: one burrito with chicken, one with pulled pork – that's it. Typical ingredients like beans, corn, onions, or tomatoes WITH the meat were missing, which is a shame. More ingredients or variety would better justify the price. I was happy with the pulled pork burrito. But my girlfriend's medium vegetarian burrito was really small for €13, and she wasn't convinced. My boyfriend ordered a vegetarian burger that didn't come with fries and was still more expensive than the meat version, which did come with fries. There isn't a single vegan option listed. Of course, you don't expect authentic Mexican food. But I've been to better Mexican restaurants. Even in the cafeteria, the enchiladas are more varied.

This time, I was unfortunately disappointed. I don't usually write reviews, but this time I have to say that my experience at Salsarico was mixed. There's nothing to complain about regarding the ambiance or the staff; we were regularly asked if we needed anything else, and everyone was very friendly. The drinks were delicious and arrived promptly. The food, however, took forever. I think we waited over an hour, even though we didn't order any elaborate dishes. The food was hot, but my burrito was rather carelessly slapped onto the side of the plate, and I had the feeling the vegetables inside were some kind of frozen mix, which didn't convince me at all. Also, given the small portion, I would have expected at least two burritos, as one doesn't really fill you up, but I must say that I could have asked the server about that. Still, over €12 for such a small item is absolutely too much in my opinion! Nevertheless, we had a very nice evening; only the food order was a bit of a letdown.

Delicious food. The allergen information on the menu was great, so I was able to order a gluten-free option. Quaint restaurant; we always enjoy coming back.

We were here with a group of seven adults. Great service, great ambiance. Plenty of close-packed seating with a lot of background noise. If you like that, this is the place for you. If you don't, look elsewhere. Food: Had enchiladas. The coleslaw didn't go well with them for me, as the juice made the food sweet. Adding salt wasn't as appealing. I would come back knowing this. I like the ambiance.

Fairly okay. Very friendly service, although a bit uncoordinated at times; you can sometimes wait an hour for your food. This is rather incomprehensible, as it's not particularly elaborate. The value for money is okay, as far as the food goes; 9.90 for a 0.3-ounce cocktail is a bit excessive here and there. Otherwise, the ambiance is rustic and simple, but solid.

Kitchen overwhelmed, service overwhelmed Waiting 75 minutes for food is unacceptable. Never again

Everything here is disgusting! It's absolutely filthy, the waitress has greasy hair and smells, the woman at the counter looks unkempt, and these cloth tablecloths that are rarely or never changed are simply the biggest breeding ground for bacteria. The beef fillet was rubbery, you can't cut it, chew it, etc. The next day I had extreme diarrhea. The best thing about the whole thing... the eco-friendly dream catchers (cobwebs) fly above you 👍🏻 really invite you to dream. It's simply amazing how long people can go without cleaning at all, and yet people still go there to eat.

We waited 15 minutes to be seated. Then we had to wait another 30 minutes for our drinks. Then we waited 1.5 hours for our food to arrive. We were not impressed at all with the food. The chili con carne was complete rubbish. It had no taste and was simply dry. The same goes for the schnitzel. It had no taste. My husband's ribs were dry. The kids' burgers were also rubbish. The food is not worth the price. We definitely won't be back.

As always, excellent food and delicious cocktails. The service was very friendly and attentive.

Difficult situation I'd like to give a better review, but unfortunately, it didn't quite fit. 1. The service was very inattentive. 2. The burger advertised as coming with fries was a tragedy, with potato skins baked in the oven or something similar (definitely not fries). 3. The waitress asked me if I'd prefer mayo or ketchup (all perfectly normal), and then I noticed on the bill that they charged an extra €1.60 for 20ml of mayo. I would have liked to tip, but I found the whole thing just rude. At least I can say something positive: the decor was nice.

Super delicious cocktails and great food

We've been there twice as a family and unfortunately have to say 🙂 it was fantastic again. It starts with the service. The gentleman who served us today was super friendly, just like the first time. Big praise for the kitchen. Great food, great portions and the drinks were also well mixed. It was simply another great evening today. We'll definitely be back. It's worth the trip from Wismar. We are extremely satisfied and we think the price-performance ratio is absolutely fine. Big praise to the entire team 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Highly recommended! We called and asked for a table. Despite the store being fully booked, we were offered to come by and find something for us (two people), which was super nice and worked exactly that way. When we arrived it was very full and there was a nice corner waiting for us. Food came very quickly and it was also super tasty! Absolutely great how everyone is served so quickly and friendly! Nice, cozy atmosphere, but a little too loud for us (hard to avoid given the crowds and good music in the background. A few more vegetarian options would be great. 5 stars across the board!

Went there spontaneously with a large group (17 people), it wasn't a problem. The ambience is actually wonderful, the service is average, unfortunately small things were not implemented (order changes). Personally, I had an enchilada with chicken and was a little disappointed, although I had expected a little more in terms of taste and appearance. Quality but completely satisfactory, unfortunately 2-3€ too expensive. I would still come back, but order something different.

It was a coincidence that we ended up here. Great atmosphere, nice staff. Food and drinks were good and tasty. However, I would prefer caramel for the churros. Gladly again if the opportunity arises.

I've been eating there for about 15 years. Whether on site or the equally fantastic delivery service, everything is always sensationally delicious. I really don't know what I would do without the store. Whenever I'm traveling in Germany, I try to find a Mexican who can somehow get there, but so far without success. I hope I can feast there for the next 15 years :3

The staff is really very nice, including children! The prices are surprisingly affordable and there is certainly something for everyone (+children's menu), matching and pretty decorations included 😊

We always enjoy being here. Delicious food and nice ambience. Unfortunately, we sometimes had to wait quite a long time for orders, but we were able to get over it. The only annoying thing was that it was actually relatively cold where we were sitting (the couch in the back of the entrance room) and we were freezing. We would have preferred to leave our jackets on. It would have just looked stupid. Luckily I had a sweater on and a cardigan with me. Unfortunately my husband had to freeze in his shirt and I felt sorry for him.

The restaurant is quite nice. The atmosphere is very nice. Priced okay. The food is very Germanized and not as authentic as we expected. The chicken was very dry. The spiciness level is more like a 1 out of 10. Still a really nice place with great drinks.

Unfortunately, the food didn't convince us. Of course, the cocktails weren't available at happy hour on Women's Day. It's a shame because it's not stated online. The rose couldn't get it out. But the staff was great!!

Very good Mexican atmosphere. The food tastes good and is always super fresh. The cocktails used to be better, but now they seem a bit watered down. That's why we only drink long drinks here. Even though the hut is full, the waitresses are always very quick and attentive.

We liked it that way, only one waitress was very cheeky, she looked down on us and gave us incorrect information. She doesn't seem to really realize that without customers the store wouldn't function and that customers pay "her" wages.

The all-you-can-eat pork ribs on Monday are really great. The signature honey-glazed pork ribs and BBQ pork ribs are properly seasoned with a caramel aroma. Kenta chicken wings are a must-try. The venue is suitable for gatherings, and it is a highly recommended restaurant.

Great cocktails but very loud when the place is full

Very themed and full furnishings, very cozy atmosphere. The waitresses are very friendly. The food was very good. Price-performance fits perfectly here.

It was my first time here and I really enjoyed it. Although we sometimes had to wait a bit, the store was well stocked and the staff was friendly, so we accepted that. I'll be back. Great value for money! Edit February 19, 2022: As always, we were very satisfied with the food and the friendliness of the staff, but I don't understand how after 2 years of the pandemic you still can't wear the mask properly. Some of the service staff really tried very hard and regularly pointed this out to the "forgetful" guests. Unfortunately, our waiter was unable to cover his nose and his vaccination status was checked rather poorly. This takes away the feeling of security at this time, hence the 2 star deduction. Edit January 11, 2025: Phenomenal service despite a lack of staff and a full hut, many thanks to our waitress (name unfortunately not known, one of the few blonde people in the team), who made it possible for us to have a really nice evening: good and honest advice, fast, courteous and incredibly friendly service. The food as always: fresh and delicious. Absolute improvement compared to the experience a few years ago! From now on we will definitely come back more often!

Pleasant place to go out. Very reasonable prices. It's usually pretty busy and requires reservations but we were there on December 26th, lots of space. Drinks and snacks came very quickly. Regularly asking if everything is OK. We parked in the parking lot on the main street, it's easy to get there, a 5-minute walk. Defo a place to chill and meet up with friends.

We didn't make a reservation on a Sunday but were lucky that we still got a place (2 people). When the restaurant is full, the background noise is correspondingly high because it is a large room. The staff was friendly and attentive despite the restaurant being full. The food was tasty and sufficient. There is a different promotion every day. On Sundays e.g. the cocktails are cheaper.

12/12/2024 A perfect evening! - Christmas party with 20 people and all the dishes (which were really delicious) were served at the same time, which is really great - the Salsarico team was quick and in a great mood, we didn't have to wait long for our drinks (even though all the tables were occupied) - Strawberry Kiss was our cocktail of the evening :) - As a matter of course, shortly before closing time we were served another portion of fries, that's customer friendliness - we really enjoyed it and my team says ....Thomas and his team > thank you very much for the lovely evening
