Very tasty food, large portions, friendly staff

We were here for a girls' night out. We had a lovely spot in the garden. The food was delicious and plentiful. It could have been a bit warmer. The service was incredibly friendly. We'd love to come back.

Simply the best Greek restaurant for miles around! Super delicious, generous portions, simply fantastic!

It was that time again: Girls' Night Out. This time we went to the Saloniki in Schwabelweis. Small, cute Greek-style beer garden. Service was unobtrusively fast, friendly, and reliable. We had lamb gyros, squid, and a skewer with metaxa sauce. What I love is that you can customize your plate. The food came quickly and everything came together. The lamb was a bit dry, but the calamari was buttery soft. The portions were generous. For dessert, even though we were full, we had a sensational semolina pudding. Tired, full, and happy, we went home. Thanks for the lovely evening.

The food was delicious and served quickly. :) The staff were very friendly and made every effort to ensure their guests were comfortable. Prices are on the higher end. The ambiance only gets 2 stars because it's very loud, and you have to communicate very loudly, even if you're sitting next to each other.

We had a pleasant evening at this restaurant. The outdoor garden is absolutely lovely – peaceful, green, and perfect for a relaxed dinner. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, which made us feel well taken care of. The portions are very generous, which is great if you arrive with a big appetite. The fresh salad served as a starter was a definite highlight – beautifully presented and very tasty. The main dishes were okay overall; while the side dishes like rice and potatoes were good, the meat could have been a bit juicier and more flavorful. Prices are in the mid-range and mostly fair, but I would expect a bit more consistency in both the food quality and the dining experience. Unfortunately, it was quite noisy inside, which made conversation at the table somewhat challenging. All in all, it’s a solid choice for an occasional visit, especially in good weather when the garden seating is available. It’s not necessarily a go-to for frequent dining, but still a nice place to try. Tip: make a reservation for dinner – it fills up quickly!

We went to Saloniki this week for the first time in a long time. We wanted to give it another chance after not having eaten there for years because it was simply no longer good. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. The calamari was super hard and like rubber. I don't know why, whether it was just old and no longer good. Also, the fat really ran out when we were cutting it. The gyros and salad were okay, but there are much better Greek restaurants in Regensburg. The service was really great, the waitresses were very nice and the food came quickly (although we were there during the week). As for the ambiance itself, I can say that although the beer garden is really nice, we were attacked by countless flies when the food arrived. That also took away our appetite. A real shame. We won't be back!

The Saloniki restaurant has both strengths and weaknesses. The decor is cozy and exudes a typically Greek flair. The service was friendly and attentive, but at times they seemed a bit overwhelmed – the wait times for food and drinks were quite long, even though the restaurant wasn't full. The food itself tasted okay, but nothing special. The portions were generous, although the meat could have been a bit juicier and better seasoned. The side dishes, such as rice and potatoes, were good, but standard fare. A positive highlight was the fresh salad as an appetizer, which was very appetizingly presented. The prices are mid-range and generally reasonable, but I expect a somewhat more consistent quality in the food and service. Unfortunately, the ambiance was a bit noisy, which made conversation at the table difficult. Overall, a solid restaurant for an occasional visit, but not necessarily a place I would frequent regularly. If you're looking for simple Greek cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere, this is definitely worth a visit. However, for a special culinary experience, I would rather go somewhere else.

We stumbled upon Salonika while in the area. The gyro was the best I’ve had since I visited Greece. Portions are very generous. The outside garden is so relaxing and perfect for dining. The servers were all super friendly, and visiting with the owner was a delight. I highly highly recommend!

In my opinion the best Greek in Regensburg. There you can eat whatever you want. You will always receive top quality. The team is perfectly coordinated. I don't know of long waiting times even though there is usually no free space. For this very reason it is advisable to reserve in advance. I'm already looking forward to the next time.

Everything is fine as always, only the middle row of tables makes everything really cramped and affects the feeling of space. We wondered whether it had always been there. However, you have to understand that, 8 more places means, in the best case, 16 more dishes sold. Everything was fine.

In my opinion the best Greek restaurant around Regensburg. Unfortunately there are very few seats over the winter and it's best to reserve a week in advance. The food and the portions are very good 👍🏻

With one of the best restaurants for Greek food. Good service, homemade food. What more could you want? Without a reservation it will be difficult to find space. When the weather is nice, the beautiful beer garden beckons. Always happy to go there.

Delicious food, although I have also eaten in better Greek restaurants. The staff is super friendly, damn well organized and very fast. Big compliment for that.

Gyros and rice were always very tasty and a large portion when picked up, but the other day it was really rubbish. Gyros old and dry, I think there are leftovers 🤯🤯👎 it's really a shame to have to be picked up so often. Now we'll leave it and go back to the Greek in Donaustauf, he's simply the best Greek, the gyros are a dream 🎉🎉🎉🎉🤗

Have had this 4 times over 4 weeks on a visit to Regensburg, both dine in and take away and it is absolutely delicious. Everything is fresh, well flavoured with hearty portion sizes...be prepared to leave with a takeaway box. I highly recommend, you won't be disappointed

Today we spontaneously went out to eat there with a large group of people. The service was super fast, even though it was full, we didn't have to wait long for food or drink. The food was delicious, just like we know from the Greeks. Great value for money! If we are in Regensburg again, we will definitely go there again.

The service is friendly and accommodating. The dishes are good and filling at a fair price and the atmosphere invites you to come back more often. We have been there several times and will continue to visit the restaurant on various occasions. All in all, every visit is a successful evening.

I have something to criticize, as always, you can definitely call in advance 2-3 days before......... On Thursday (February 13th, 2025, around 8:30 p.m.) evening my partner called to reserve a table (on Saturday, January 15th, 2025), but it wasn't anything like "stuffy and unfriendly"!!!!! We were always happy with the food (TRIBAL GREEKS every 3-4 weeks) and the wine 🍷 was excellent, always 1-2 bottles.......in the evening, and in spring and summer it was wonderful. But the fact that we tell ourselves to go out to eat between 5 and 6.30 p.m. works under “time pressure”. NOT UNREASONABLE AT ALL!!!!!!! There are also “fast food shops”.

We ate here today, I have a sleeve stomach and it wasn't a problem at all to get a robber's plate. My husband and I had an excellent meal and were served very attentively. We would love to come back. 👍🏻👍🏻 Price performance is completely fine.

Good food, large portions and friendly service. One star is deducted because of the smell of food, which gets extremely stuck in hair and clothing. After my last visit to a restaurant, my winter jacket smelled like grease for days, something I've never experienced in other restaurants.

Went there for dinner yesterday, unfortunately for me it was just a mediocre Greek. Portions were too big, calamari and gyros were nothing special. There are much better ones in Regensburg when it comes to quality!

New: Used to be one of my favorite restaurants. The last two orders were absolute disasters. The fat is just there in the food, the fries are soggy and can no longer be enjoyed. Today 40 out of 60 € went into the trash can. Absolute disaster! Old: Ordered food from the local song service. Great portions that even fill me up as an average eater. The taste of the Greek Saloniki is excellent. Food arrived well packaged, warm and quicker than expected. There is a nice atmosphere on site and I was always very satisfied in the restaurant.

Food is great, huge portions. I think if two order one portion, it will be enough for them. You can sit outside on the terrace when the weather is nice.

We were here 4 years ago, and we had a delicious meal then, but now it surpassed everything. The weather was nice, we could eat outside on the terrace, beautiful location, and the food was delicious. We had: Dolmades and shrimp skewers as a starter, moussaka and bifteki dish as a main course and tiramisu for dessert. Rarely tasty, everything! And very nice and nice service. If we come back to this area, we will without a doubt eat here again! Ten with a pencil!
