A very relaxed evening with tapas that were both truly delicious and truly worthy of the name tapas. The atmosphere was very pleasant, and the staff were truly relaxed, friendly, and, above all, unobtrusive. We'd be happy to go back 😊👍🏼

Salina is a very cozy tapas bar. In summer, you can sit comfortably and dine in the beer garden. The food is excellent. Even at peak times, the service is imperturbable, and you never feel forgotten. Service is a top priority here. In short: very tasty food in a cozy tapas bar at upscale prices that are not too expensive for the quality.

The food is always excellent, finely seasoned, and varied. The bi-weekly menu, in particular, surprises with new aiolis and imaginative dishes like quail, octopus with almond cream, or pumpkin crema Catalana.

The food is very, very good and served in a typically Spanish style. The ambiance is more reminiscent of a wooden pub from the 70s. In summer, you can sit outside. But if the food is great, it doesn't matter if the location is more reminiscent of a youth hostel.

I've been a customer there ever since the first restaurant opened on Schützenbahn. The food is very tasty. However, I feel like the portions are getting smaller, but maybe I'm wrong. I'll still continue to eat my tapas there.

We really enjoyed the food and the staff was friendly. I'm deducting one star because I find it a bit odd that you're only allowed to stay for two hours, and if the portions were a little bit larger (or a little bit cheaper), I would be 100% happy. Nevertheless, I would definitely recommend it, and we'd be happy to come back.

Met up here today with friends from my old hometown and, even though there were a lot of us (over 10), we managed to reserve a table. Without a reservation, it might be a bit difficult on the weekend. We were just in Andalusia last year, and this was definitely a better one outside of that ;) The meat was cooked to perfection, delicious prawns (with a really good amount of oil and garlic), and especially the dips (with bread, potatoes, and meat) were truly delicious! The Crema Catalana was also terrific! The tapas sizes and price for the quality aren't up to Spanish standards, of course, but fair for Germany. By the way, the kids retreated to a small sofa/lounge area at the end, where there were a few board games, and they had fun and were alone there :)

Always perfect, I can't put it any other way. A large selection of Spanish tapas, the portions are neither too small nor too large, and the service is very fast and courteous. There's also a weekly menu with constantly changing and unusual tapas. The prices are reasonable, but not expensive, and there's something for everyone. Kudos to the kitchen again! The ambiance is very pleasant, both inside and outside, and it's not too loud. In the summer, you can enjoy yourself outside on the terrace or inside in the cozy atmosphere. There's also plenty of parking on the side street. If you're looking for delicious tapas and a good mood, this is the place for you!

Salinas has been an absolute dream tapas bar for many years. Since the new owner took over, the place has really taken off. Important: You have to make a reservation and state the exact number of guests – registering 4 people and then showing up with 6-8 people will be difficult, as the place is very busy. Let's start with the ambiance: The restaurant is decorated in the bodega style, and that's a good thing, because unlike many other tapas bars, it doesn't have a fake Spanish feel, but rather a natural one. There are enough tables for larger groups, and it's not uncomfortably crowded. The small outdoor area is also interesting in the summer. In terms of atmosphere, it's not a typical restaurant, but rather a "bar" where, in addition to good drinks, you also get very tasty food – which is why people talk a bit louder, and the music is a bit louder, too. Therefore, there's no such thing as a quiet restaurant feeling. Service: The waiters are young and agile and try to accommodate all guests as best as possible and generally behave professionally. There are small deductions for "complaints" or questions regarding small "modifications" to dishes, as some react a bit rudely. Now for the most important point... Food & Drink First of all - only fresh ingredients are used here; anyone who claims they use frozen goods is crazy. The portions are small, typical for tapas, but they're easily shared, allowing you to sample the menu more easily. The homemade aioli, or rather chili aioli, alone is a dream, and it's a great way to start the evening. The bread is from an organic bakery, and you can taste it. My personal highlight - and I haven't found it as delicious anywhere else as here - is the homemade sangria. The taste is amazing. 10 out of 10 points. The sangria alone is worth stopping in for. ;) I always enjoy coming back.

Very friendly service, delicious tapas, but unfortunately, the outdoor tables are facing the street. Why the wine spritzer is the same price as "wine without spritzer" is beyond me. But: I would eat there again 😊 (and then order wine and water separately and mix the spritzer myself)

We were invited to a birthday party there. They rented a medium-sized hall for the celebration. The ambiance was very appropriate. There's a small stage in the back. A selection of tapas was served, which we enjoyed together at several long tables. The tapas were almost all vegetarian. I think you, as the host, can choose your own tapas in advance. Everything was very tasty. There could have been a bit more. The drinks generally arrived quickly, although occasionally it took a little longer. However, all the staff were friendly. Aside from the birthday party, the restaurant continued to operate normally in the front part of the restaurant. The back part was signposted for our private party. However, in order for guests to access the restrooms from the restaurant, they had to pass through the private area.

I love going here with my daughter. We're greeted by the owner's sister, as if we've known each other for a long time. We love coming back again and again. The food is simply delicious, and the sangria is even more so. Everyone is exceptionally friendly. And there's always a new little sample to try. We ate at this restaurant for the first time and were sadly disappointed. The portions were surprisingly small for a Spanish restaurant, and all the food arrived cold. Therefore, we decided not to order more and left early. The atmosphere also didn't impress us – it didn't feel very Spanish and was more reminiscent of a former German pub. We won't be returning. It's a real shame that there doesn't seem to be an authentic Spanish restaurant in Essen with good value for money.

Unfortunately, the quality of the food was poor, and the tapas dishes were very small. It's possible that frozen food was served here.

One of the best Spanish restaurants in the Ruhr area! Great selection and appealing presentation, and the quality of the tapas is fair value! The rustic ambiance is just as impressive as the attentive service! The only, but major, drawback: As an Essen restaurant, they don't serve Essen beer. Why? Absolutely incomprehensible! A delicious Stauder Pils would have perfectly rounded out the experience. At least they have a solid Spanish alternative, Estrella Galicia, on tap! Reservations recommended!

A tapas bar where we enjoyed being regulars. The quality of the food is consistently high, and the weekly menu offers a pleasant variety. The sangria tastes great, the atmosphere is cozy, and the service is friendly. The highlight? Baraquito! If only the old Baraquito glasses were still around – beautiful to look at and practical with the hot foot :-) Now that we're moving away, it'll be hard to find a place like this again. With you, a successful evening was (almost) guaranteed.

The Salina is always a great place. The prices are reasonable, and the food is high quality and delicious. Yesterday, the food arrived quickly, piping hot, and, as always, delicious! The service is super friendly; unfortunately, yesterday it felt like forever for our ordered drinks to arrive. At times, we waited over 30 minutes for new drinks; that could have been done a bit faster and better.

Hello friends of delicious food. I was there with a friend and was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance. It doesn't seem to be a 3-star restaurant, but what you get is something special. The food tastes great and the portions are as you'd expect. Tapas come in different versions. I recommend always having 3 different dishes per person so you can try each other's dishes. You can always reorder, and the servers are quick. Always keep that in mind. The portions aren't main meals. The rustic atmosphere is great. But more comfortable seating would be better. But overall, I had a great evening with a wonderful woman, and it was definitely worth the trip. I'd be happy to go there again. To meet up with friends, if you have any, or just to end the evening with someone special.

Delicious tapas, good and attentive staff. I personally find the tables a bit uncomfortable, and it's sometimes too noisy. But that's just my experience, and I still enjoy going there.

We've eaten here several times and found it quite nice. Unfortunately, our experience yesterday was unpleasant. We waited forever for our few tapas, while other, later tables got their food. After 45 minutes, we asked about it and got a rather rude answer. 😕. So, if you can't handle the volume of guests, you should at least politely let people know. But then to get rude was not nice. We won't be back. It's a shame.

It was our first time there, and I was very pleasantly surprised. It's definitely worth making a reservation, as the place was really well-staffed. The service was absolutely top-notch, very friendly, super-fast, and with a genuine smile. Okay, the excellent menu certainly tempts you to try everything. It's a bit dark if you sit inside and at the back of the store. The service was very friendly. The food quality was very good. Unfortunately, the portions are very small. It's just a given that prices are rising. But prices going up and portion sizes going down isn't so great. The lemonade was very tasty.

The range of drinks is also varied, from homemade lemonade and the usual soft drinks to a good selection of wines. The prices for the drinks are also moderate. The service is very attentive, always friendly and competent. As I said, it is always a great pleasure to spend an evening here.

At first we thought, which pub are we going to... But the further you went to the back of the restaurant, the nicer it became. It is absolutely recommended to reserve a table in advance, otherwise it can be difficult. We enjoyed the food, everything was very well seasoned. There's nothing negative to say about the portion size either. The service was very nice and attentive. We'll definitely come back. Anyone who knows the area knows that you always have to look for parking spaces.

An all-round successful evening! The Tappas Restaurant impressed with its cozy atmosphere, attentive service and incredibly delicious food. Every dish was lovingly prepared and tasted excellently. The selection of tappas is varied - there really is something for everyone. I would particularly like to highlight the pulp, which was tender and buttery. The selection of drinks was also great. We'll definitely be back!

We were here for the first time. Reservation is strongly recommended. There is a large selection of food. When it comes to tapas, you should always know that it will be a little more expensive in the end. The staff was friendly and attentive at all times. The volume is sometimes unpleasant due to the size and number of guests. But you can still have a conversation. All in all, a delicious and successful evening.

Dear Salina team! Thank you for the feedback and the information about the later reservation period, which we also saw on your website. Unfortunately, an extensive (tapas) meal from 7.30 p.m. is far too late in the evening for us. It doesn't appeal to us anymore - as might other guests of older age? - That's why we always like to make reservations for the late afternoon/early evening. We always enjoyed the food and the evenings in your restaurant (5 stars for this!!) and always left a lot of money - and we were happy to do so! Unfortunately, with the current regulation, this can no longer be implemented for us, which we really regret and find extremely unfortunate. By the way, there are one or two restaurants that are happy to extend the period upon request from the guest. You might want to think about such an alternative. Maybe it will pay off in the bottom line and in the long run. Of course it's unfair in a way to only give one star, but we - as guests - weren't treated fairly either. If we hadn't called you again, we probably wouldn't have been the only ones making a “stupid face” that evening... It was also anything but easy to get a table elsewhere at such short notice, which stressed and annoyed us... Disappointed… We had reserved a table by phone on Friday for Saturday in a week and were really looking forward to visiting Salina after a long time. Full of anticipation, we looked at the menu on the website the Thursday before and only saw by chance that a table can only be reserved for two hours. We were not informed of this when we made our reservation by telephone. To be on the safe side, we called the restaurant again and they confirmed our fears. When we pointed out that we weren't told about this when we made the reservation, they didn't even go into further detail, so we canceled the table with a heavy heart. These limited time periods always seem like a check-in to us, but we want to enjoy a culinary evening without having to look at the clock or even rush because the next guests are already waiting for us to vacate the place. We are really disappointed that this regulation has now also been introduced for our (previously) favorite Spaniard. We don't know yet whether we will go again. Not as of today... :((

Simply a wonderful experience! We were at Salina for the first time today and we are really impressed with the restaurant. We had a lovely evening as a couple, with delicious food, delicious drinks and warm service. The audience was mixed from young to old and even very young guests were there. Nice! Unfortunately, prices here have continued to rise over the last 3 years. However, the portions have become smaller in many cases so that the guest can order a little more. A business policy that I don't like. It's a shame because most of the dishes taste good, but the price-performance ratio and the portion sizes are no longer appropriate. And the fact that everything has become more expensive is unfortunately also due to the fact that many industries are jumping on this bandwagon in order to generate even more profits. But I also see keeping the portion sizes quite smaller as a hidden price increase.

Wir waren mit 5 Personen Essen. Bin hungrig und mit schlechter Laune aus dem Lokal. Die Portionen zu klein. Der Laden ist überteuert. Bedienung und Qualität ok. Es ist eher ein Beilagenrestaurant wo die Leute verarscht werden..Ich war übrigens eingeladen.. Tut mir leid für meinen Freu d. Überteuert... Nie mehr dahin.. Wir werden mittlerweile überall verarscht. 220 Euro. MFG

Very tasty tapas with good service. Interior a bit too rustic and 'Dear Ones' always hurts me a bit when spoken to, seems to be a current waiter's wording - once 'Dear Ones' is enough - if it has to be that way at all.

I arrived at the restaurant at 4:50 p.m., but wasn't allowed in, even though I just wanted to wait inside! - at 5:00 p.m. there was only one bar table left! - I understand, but not with the type of communication! - simply unfriendly and inflexible! - I had ordered 1 small salad (orally), but was charged for a large one!- I was there twice within 3 days, but definitely not again!-

The sauces are unique, the tapas are traditional and simply delicious, the staff is very accommodating and friendly! All around the perfect tapas restaurant! Auf Empfehlung haben wir diesmal die Tapas Bar in essen ausprobiert. Die Bilder sprechen für sich. Tolles Ambiente mit hervorragenden finger-food. Bestellt wurde aus der Wochenkarte, leckere Tacos! Drinnen als auch draußen eine tolle Atmosphäre und der Service ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Apart from a few small drawbacks, not enough truffle aioli with the bread, the sheep's cheese gratinated could have been creamier and the prawns in pure olive oil with garlic would have been great and would have been good for dipping with the bread, we were completely satisfied. Delicious, nice atmosphere, nice staff. We felt very comfortable. 4.5 stars would be appropriate.

A nice evening for four with really nice waitresses. As we all know, prices are not that low. When paying for a table for 4 people (approx. €200 in total) you notice that 2 large water bottles were charged, but only 1 was ordered and drunk. Price €7.20 When I was told about a male person who wasn't suitable for me in the customer catering area, I came straight back. After waiting for about 10 minutes he came back and slapped us €7.20 in 50 cent pieces on the table with the words I didn't have it bigger. An absolute disgrace No sorry or anything, the store was packed and of course all customers paid with 50 cent pieces - as usual. Maybe it was Hard Money Monday. As I said, it was good but not cheap, the girls were in a good mood as always but the only gentleman was a cheek. Keep your eyes open when choosing a career because the customer pays your bills!

We were there for the second time today and were very impressed. Very tasty, very garlic-heavy food with some good spiciness. Very friendly service, although it took a long time to bring the food today. That wasn't the case the first time, so it wasn't the norm. We'd love to come back.

A really good tapas bar. We finally got there. And we always test the aioli first. And it was really good. The four of us had a lot of tapas and they all tasted really good.

I don't understand the hype. Priced for the performance in the upper segment. Service overwhelmed, but always friendly. Our bacon-wrapped dates were burnt and didn't need to come out of the kitchen.

Unfortunately the visit to Salinas was very disappointing. This wasn't due to the quality of the food or drinks that we didn't get, but rather it was due to the manager's lack of ability to deal with stressful situations. My daughter had made a valid reservation and we were also seated at a table. There was no entertainment. The manager personally came to our table and repeatedly asked my daughter for the reservation confirmation, which my daughter had already shown at the entrance. But that wasn't enough for the young lady and she asked us to leave the restaurant. After about 25 minutes of annoying discussion, we left the restaurant. There were already other guests waiting at the exit, who from our point of view could obviously be described as regulars. The situation probably speaks for itself. Asking guests who have already been seated at a table to leave the restaurant deserves the word: unprofessionalism.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant and was immediately impressed by the quality of the food and the charming ambience. Unfortunately, I had to witness an unpleasant situation at the next table. Despite repeated requests, the guests there were unable to show a valid reservation and reacted extremely tensely and disrespectfully. It was unfortunate to see her verbally attacking the staff and the guests behaving in an unacceptable manner. However, what really impressed me was the calm and professional way the service staff handled the situation. Despite the challenges, they remained patient and polite and ultimately managed to politely but firmly ask guests to leave. Despite this incident, I cannot emphasize enough how much I enjoyed my visit to this restaurant. The food was excellent and the service first class. I can fully recommend this restaurant and am sure that anyone who visits will have a similarly positive experience.

Unfortunately I can't give a good rating. After we showed our reservation confirmation we were seated at our table. A few minutes later the less friendly boss came to the table and wanted to see our reservation again. We had shown these, but unfortunately the lady suddenly no longer had enough of them. After a long discussion we had to clear the table and were literally thrown out of the restaurant. If the restaurant is overbooked, you can solve the situation differently, for example with a round of drinks at the counter. We would have liked to wait for a table there until something became available. Unfortunately, the operators here acted very unprofessionally and therefore the restaurant is unfortunately not recommended.
