Salhino in Berlin

We waited a long time for food, the food was not tasty, when we complained about the food not being tasty, the chef of this establishment responded by saying, it was tasty for everyone, and the fact that it was not tasty for you is your problem. The bill was 110€, such rudeness from the management was very unpleasant. This is not how business is built, especially in Berlin. The price is too high, one tablespoon of salad with chicken is 11€.

My family and I had overcooked khachapuri. The sturgeon was apparently smoked and then grilled. It turned out to be smoked grilled sturgeon. Not tasty!

It was first georgian Restaurant we tried in Berlin. It was good choice👍🏻 Staffs were so kind. Suggested! Price is a little high, but this is normal for good Georgian cuisine you are looking for abroad. I love georgian cuisine and just Acharuli would be more melted cheese and half boiled egg(It is my favourite and matter of taste)

Salhino - Das georgische Restaurant mit einem wunderschönen Namen. Ich bin heute dort ,mit der Hoffnung, dass ich einen leckeren Adjaruli Khatchapuri essen könnte, gewesen. Aber leider war es eine große Enttäuschung. Adjaruli war eigentlich ziemlich kleine Portion mit großem Preis. Hat mir überhaupt nicht geschmeckt, deswegen hab ich das einfach auf dem Tisch gelassen. Aber Tatara (Dessert) war einfach hervorragend, kleine Portion, aber es lohnt sich Tatara zu probieren/bestellen. Der Kellner (ist) war sehr nett, freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Ambiente war ziemlich angenehm. Danke, dass es in Berlin so ein wunderschönes Restaurant gibt. 💓

Excellent cuisine. Fast service. In addition to classic dishes, I discovered achma (Georgian-style lasagne). Polite, courteous waiter (I didn't ask his name, which is a pity). I noted for myself that Georgian beer is also very cool. I must definitely keep it in mind in the future.

Had a dinner with friends the other night, and it was just so lovely. Incredibly authentic Georgian food, and please note that although Georgia is famous for its (delicious) meats, there are SO MANY spectacular vegetarian dishes, it's a win for everyone. We had khatchapuri, of course (cheese bread), which was honestly the best I've had in Berlin, badrijani (an eggplant appetizer made with ground walnuts and Georgian spices, it is one of the best things you'll ever taste, and I say that as not even a huge eggplant fan), lobio (a bean dish, again the best I've had), khinkali (famous Georgian meat dumplings, so good) and another yummy veggie dish. Atmosphere is lovely, and the service was SO friendly and attentive. The place was absolutely packed by the time we left, which is not surprising, since this is clearly a favorite of many - so be sure to book! Can't wait for our next meal here! PS -- can I just add, one of my favorite things about meeting friends for a Georgian dinner out is that we follow their ancient tradition of designating a Tamada (toastmaster) for the evening. It makes for very special conversations and memories... I recommend to all that you read a bit about it before you go, and just do it. :-)

After being here with my family in February of this year and now back in Berlin for work, I always look forward to dinner at Salhino. Very good and very digestible food, plentiful, and served in a relaxed, pleasant atmosphere. Good and friendly service. The drinks menu, with a good selection, from Georgian beer (which is nothing to be sniffed at) to the equally highly recommended wine, leaves nothing to be desired. Over the years, I've been here at least 7-8 times and have always found consistent quality. That's quite an achievement! Here's to many more dinners in the future! The filthy lucre: Starter, main course, and drinks, no stinginess, for around €50 per person. More than reasonable given the selection and quality. Reservations are also easy online and definitely recommended! Update May 2025: Some things change, others remain. The pleasant atmosphere and the excellent, easy-to-digest cuisine remain, as does the always friendly and attentive service (and advice for those who can never decide 🤗). I look forward to coming to Berlin every year, because my first stop for dinner is Salhino. Keep up the good work!

Very nice atmosphere, delicious typical Georgian food! Many vegetarian dishes

Unfortunately, the khinkali were disappointing, the serving was not restaurant-quality, they were just dumped on the plate haphazardly☹️ and the taste was worse than the pelmeni from Kaufland. Khachapuri was great☺️ the waiter was friendly, but unfortunately, we waited a very long time for our order to be taken, we had to go and look for a waiter, although the seating was not full.

I love Georgian food and Salhino is by far the best Georgian in the city. Update: And even these days (2025) Salghino is still the best Georgian in town. Delicious + very attentive service.

My wife and I have given 4 stars for food, service and atmosphere. But we would have given 1 star for 'value', if such a heading existed. So we have given 2 stars overall. My wife and I had a fun evening at Salhino last night and the food and wine were good. But, since we were lured here by the unbelievably positive online reviews we felt, in the interests of balance, it was fair to warn others on a budget, of how expensive this place is. Our drinks alone came to 51 Euros for two people, and that was for one bottle of decent wine and two 70cl bottles of water. We were refused a jug of tap water. At 18 Euros, their mixed-starter of a few dips, with two small discs of aubergine, while tasty, was not very large and included no salad starters. For these you had to pay another 19 Euros. And, unlike other restaurants, their dips came with no bread-basket. If we had not bought their expensive cheesy flatbread, for another 17 Euros, I guess we would have needed to eat the dips with a spoon? We shared just one main course, the rack of lamb, for another 27 euros. For this price we hoped for something quite substantial, especially as no vegetables or sides were included, but we were served 4 modest lambchops arranged end to end on a skewer, which is not what is normally understood as a “rack” of lamb. Georgia is famed for its generous hospitality, so were just disappointed that this particular restaurant is so ungenerous and money-orientated in what they offer. Given that all we ordered was a couple of starters and one main (to share) with one modest bottle of wine (one of the cheapest), but no side dishes, no desserts & no coffee afterwards, at 113 Euros even before any service charge, we felt we had significantly overpaid, especially compared to other delicious meals we have had in fine restaurants all over in Berlin during this trip and our countless previous trips.

We were there with 9 people. We received the starters we ordered together before the main courses 😉. Starters and main courses were very tasty and plentiful. Service very courteous and friendly, in a good mood. I would come back.

We had a wonderful experience at Salhino. The food is great, the meat is perfectly cooked, juicy and tasty and the bread is fantastic. Ask the young lady if you don't know what to eat, she has been very helpful to us. Keep the good work!

A very authentic and well-kept restaurant. We come from Georgia and really enjoy eating here. The owners are very welcoming and put in a lot of effort. The shish kebab and beans are amazing. Only the Imeruli chatschapuri is too doughy and is probably not made from yeast dough

I had such a wonderful experience at the Georgian restaurant. The service was outstanding friendly and truly passionate about making sure everything was perfect. The food was absolutely delicious! Every dish was bursting with flavour and beautifully presented. It was such a treat to explore the rich and unique tastes of Georgian cuisine. Overall it was an amazing dining experience and I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

If there were no star or a “minus star” I would like to use it here. An absolute blatant disappointment. I ordered a bread baked with cheese and egg. A flatbread with cheese was served, with a raw egg cracked into the middle. Because I didn't like it, I just asked to put the bread back in the oven to cook the egg through. This was actively, loudly and aggressively refused because it was traditional in this way. Such behavior contradicts any kind of service concept. Absolutely unacceptable for me and definitely not recommended. This simple flatbread should then cost €15 I then left the restaurant immediately. The atmosphere feels like it was at the end of the 1980s and wasn't comfortable.

The real taste of Georgia in the heart of Berlin – Salhino Berlin Yesterday, my friends and I discovered a gastronomic pearl — Salhino Berlin. It was not just a dinner, but a real trip to sunny Georgia without tickets and suitcases! What did you taste? Pork kebab on a skewer is juicy, with a perfect marinade that melts in your mouth. Khinkali with meat and cheese is a real Georgian must-have, juicy, aromatic, so that you want more. Quail in garlic sauce in a pan is tender meat with a spicy touch of garlic. We drank all this generously with glasses of Kindzmarauli, a Georgian wine that adds a special charm to the evening. Atmosphere? Warm, hospitable and really cozy. The staff is friendly and attentive, and also sincerely supports Ukrainians, which was very touching. Thank you, Georgia, for such generosity of taste and soulfulness! There were six of us there today and we left happy and in good shape again. You just can't stop eating from the starters QARTULI and SACIWI and KHATSCHAPURI After the main courses BBQ (MTSVADI) and ODSCHAHURI, we also ate dessert with TAPLURI and QADA. Everything was so delicious and we will definitely be back. This was our third visit and so far it has always been nice. You always feel welcome and like you are meeting good friends and enjoying good food and wine with them and then going home with a smile. We'd love to come back.

We have been to this restaurant several times, but unfortunately our experiences have been negative each time. On the first visit we had food poisoning with diarrhea, and the second time the same problem was repeated - another poisoning with the same unpleasant symptoms. Although the restaurant is always busy and full of people, based on our experiences we cannot recommend it. Additionally, we heard from another guest that a hair was found in his food - another point that disappointed us. In the end, however, everyone has to decide for themselves whether they want to take this risk. One thing is certain for us: we will not visit this restaurant again.

I had dinner there with my husband today. The waiter was really very friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere was really nice. Unfortunately it was simply too expensive for us. For a simple salad with tomato and cucumber €11, a small pot of eggplant casserole (which somehow wasn't a casserole) €17, 0.4 liter drink €6. I also think €5 for a side dish like rice is disproportionate. The taste was ok, but nothing special. Halloumi (10€) without sauce as a starter and the eggplant casserole was rather bland and a very small portion. But what was an absolute blast and definitely recommended is the cheese bread with egg. The waitress kindly pointed out to us that you mix the still liquid egg with the melted cheese and wow, super tasty. We would come back for that thing, but unfortunately not for the rest of the dishes. Ps. There are other prices online at Opentablet and the real prices have doubled.

The room and staff were warm and inviting. 9/10 things we tried were delightful and we'll be back for 2 in particular - chicken on a skewer, and the honey cake. Both were next level.

We have been in Berlin for several days. Have tried multiple culinary experiences and this by far was the best during our trip here (and we lived in NYC). Service fantastic, food was fresh and delicious. Recommendations were great. Georgian wine was lovely and would definitely recommend. The best meal we’ve had so far and would come back again.

Die Speisen und vor allem der Wein aus Georgien sind überteuert. Ein Glas Weißwein (0,1) kostet 10€. Das Essen war ok, entsprach aber nicht unseren Vorstellungen, d.h. man vermisst die "Georgischen Gewürze". Das Ambiente ist zwar gemütlich, aber wegen o.g. Punkte keine Weiterempfehlung.

Great place to get to know Georgian cuisine. We relied entirely on the advice and were thrilled. The German translation doesn't quite fit the dishes, you imagine it completely differently, so trust the advice. Cheese bread = more of a pizza-like flatbread with cheese gratin (super delicious), butter pastry = stollen confectionery. We'd love to come by again. Recommendation.

We were in Salhino yesterday, thank you for the food. Service was nice and friendly, the atmosphere was very nice, but I found the dishes small and expensive. For 4 small slices of eggplant €10 and a cauliflower starter for €20 is a bit too expensive. Maybe we ordered if.

Typical Georgian restaurant, the selection of dishes on the menu is accordingly. The service was consistently friendly and nice, although I had to wait a long time for my food and later for my bill, even though it wasn't full. The main course was served first and then the starter a little later. Anyone who knows Eastern European cuisine knows that everything is usually served at the same time. In this case that was a little too much for me. The lamb skewer - rather carelessly prepared - was unfortunately served more well done than grilled medium, but the potatoes as a side dish and the homemade sauces were very good. The blinis filled with minced meat would have been enough as a main meal, the starter was a very large portion. Unfortunately the blinis were too greasy for me. Overall, authentic cuisine that is served here, albeit at high prices. In this respect: Good cuisine, but clearly too expensive.

Ein super sympathisches, gutes georgisches Lokal. Die Vorspeisen - insbesondere die Auberginenröllchen - sind sehr zu empfehlen, die Kinkhali auch, ebenso das Lammkarree und das selbstgebackene Brot, das auch als “Pizzateig” für die typischen gefüllten Fladen dient. Die Hausweine ergänzen das ganze gut; die halbtrockenen offenen Weine sind nicht so meins (eher süß als fruchtig, muss man mögen). Mein Tipp: geht zu mehreren hin. Die Portionen sind allesamt üppig, alleine ist man schon nach einer Vorspeise satt. Und für die Küche: kann man als einzelner Gast auch halbe Portionen kriegen?

Had a wonderful meal here. TSITELI LOBIO bean appetizer, CHANAHI and CHKMERULI chicken with garlic with excellent Georgian wine. The Chanahi, which is lamb with tomato, potatoes, eggplant and Georgian spices with a popover-style pastry on top (pictured, foreground), was truly extraordinary!

Nach einem Urlaub in Georgien haben wir nach einem Restaurant mit authentischer georgischer Küche gesucht und gefunden. Neben der hervorragenden Qualität konnten wir alle Gerichte teilen was ja auch typisch ist. Dazu freundliche und kompetente Mitarbeiter. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

It was the perfect evening! I didn't even know Georgian cuisine. So we shared different dishes - and it was a real culinary delight. Since there were only two of us, we have to come back again because there are still a number of things that we definitely have to try. And we were wonderfully advised and pampered throughout the evening by a fit and very friendly team. Everything was just right. Thank you!
