beautiful restaurant, with a lovely waitress who guided us through the menu, gave recommendations, and was very knowledgeable. food was delicious.

An excellent meal. Our first time eating Georgian food, but it won't be our last! With no idea what to order, we put ourselves in the hands of the wonderful waitress who suggested a great assortment of the 'must trys' on the menu and also recommended a bottle of excellent Georgian wine. Everything tasted amazing, the place is small and intimate, and has a real neighborhood vibe. HAVE THE DUMPLINGS!

First experience with Georgian food, and it was amazing! The service was fantastic, and our server was kind enough to help us pick out excellent options for our first Georgian food experience (especially because we couldn't understand the menu). We also enjoyed Georgian beer and wine. Which were both delicious as well.

I have been living in Germany for a very long time and no matter what city I end up in, I look for a Georgian restaurant. I was in one of the famous Georgian restaurants in Berlin, which was quite expensive and the khinkali was so terrible that I could barely swallow it (I won't mention the name). At Gio's, even the dough seems to be made by hand, the khinkali tastes exactly like in Georgia, the Georgian staff is warm and friendly, they will make you feel like you are in little Georgia. In short, I have been in Berlin for 4 days and I came twice to eat khinkali😁. Anyone who wants to eat delicious Georgian dishes should definitely come here, it is not a shame to bring foreign guests, because either the food will be bad or the staff will be Russian.

A small restaurant with friendly service and, above all, delicious food! The wine was also good. We had three dishes and shared them. It was cozy and a good idea. We didn't have a reservation but arrived early (6 p.m. on a Thursday). When we went around 8 p.m., it was packed. Delicious food and excellent value for money. We would definitely return if we lived nearby! A 2-minute walk from the Kotbussertor metro station.

The food was delicious. Unfortunately, there was a large, braised dead wasp in the garlic cream chicken—it can happen. We pointed it out right away, but nothing happened. My companion didn't want to eat it anymore, so I ate it anyway. I didn't want to cause any stress and wait to see if they would come back to us. In the end, we got the full bill—no gesture or apology. When I pointed it out, they said: It's your own fault if you were sitting on the terrace—these things happen. It was 9:30 p.m.—not exactly wasp flying season. Judge for yourself.

Amazing Georgian cuisine. Couldn't fit in the Khachapuri anymore but will definitely try next time. Served tap water upon request – thank you. Our bill showed two things we didn't order but staff apologized and refunded immediately.

The food and wine were delicious. I would go back for the mushroom chinkali alone. I would suggest to the management that they dim the lighting. No one wants to bring a date to a restaurant with bright lighting.

Georgian food is very good, and at Gio's you will not be disappointed. Lovely starters and the vegetarian khachapuri was delicious. Would recommend pickled vegetables as one of the starters. Unfortunately, it wasn't a pleasant evening: There was no trace of the friendliness in the service described in other reviews. We had to wave for every drink. No one asked if it was tasty. And the place wasn't even full. The salads arrived quickly and were very tasty. The breads came right after. Also very good. We had to wait 60 (!) minutes for the potatoes with chicken. Unfortunately, there was no communication with us about this. No announcement or even an apology. The food was so greasy that I was lying awake at 3 a.m. with a rumbling stomach. The payment took forever because the card reader was broken and the lady was completely overwhelmed. Just because you can cook doesn't mean you shouldn't have a restaurant! We certainly won't be coming back! Another criticism is that the large water bottle is 0.5 liters (€4.50).

I don't understand the positive comments about the friendliness at all. I haven't felt this uncomfortable in a long time. Even paying the bill was a drama. Not even the card reader worked. For the first time, I got my food, and three of my friends had to wait an entire hour for their chicken with greasy potatoes. Honestly, I would never eat here again!

A huge disappointment! There were six of us. Three of us had to wait an hour (!!) for our food, even though the restaurant was almost empty. The other three had finished eating long ago. The food was generally very greasy and the portions very small. Two of us had stomach aches for hours after eating. The service was a complete disaster. The waitress was on her phone the whole time and made us feel like we were disturbing her. When we wanted to pay, she reacted annoyed and announced that only cash payments were accepted. She hadn't mentioned this beforehand. The fact that we wanted to pay separately also seemed like a huge problem for her, and she clearly made her displeasure known. Overall, an incredibly disappointing experience. Unfortunately, I can only advise against eating here.

Unfortunately we weren't very delighted by this restaurant. I would rather call it a family-owned cafe or cantine, and in this case the menu is quite over-priced. The portions are not huge, the food quality is 3 out of 5. The veal with veggies in a pot was not the best, it lacked taste and spices. Khachapuri imeruli was dry. My chkmeruli chicken dish consisted of 4 tiny pieces swimming in a bowl full of watery cream (it was supposed to be a creamy tender sauce full of garlic). We were disappointed 😞 If you have never been to Georgia or haven't tried Georgian cuisine, it could taste good for you, otherwise you know the difference! Also, last but not least - traditional Georgian hospitality was missing.

Unfortunately, the food and drinks were very disappointing, but very expensive. Service and ambiance were okay.

Location is dirty but that's how it is in those whereabouts. Service was OK, average. The lunch/business menu was handwritten and I thought this was a good indicator.. but when the dish came the portion was extremely small like this could at best be considered an appetizer. The rice was cold and maybe 1-2 teaspoons, not more. From the taste it was like 1-2 stars of 5 not more, very disappointing experience. The price was very high for what was served! Be careful with this place, this is a rip-off.

The food was very tasty. There was a lady who spoke Turkish, she was very helpful and took care of us. It's good to drink pear juice again. After the small shops, this place is very nice. We felt like we were in Tbilisi. Of course we will go there again.

Please be aware that portions are small! Really small as for Georgian cuisine. Food is delicious, but you will wait eternity for it to be served. Wine and beer are good. In general prices are too high, you may stay hungry after all🤷

Amazing food, wonderful and calm atmosphere with lovely candles and wood tables. Highly recommend the been stew and the bread with egg and cheese!

We came to Gios spontaneously yesterday and are more than satisfied. We were with my toddler daughter (anyone who knows toddlers knows how restless and mobile they can be 😄), I have to say how child-friendly the people are in Gios❤️ Strollers were allowed in, high chairs were available, we were even lent a toy😄 But mostly we were all looked after with love. The room is not huge but big enough to feel comfortable. Decoration, music, chairs - you feel like you're in a Georgian house. The toilets are very clean, everything is great. And EAT😍 really the best khinkali in Berlin. Simply great. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly salted, perfect broth in it, super tender dough but stable enough to eat by hand. My 1.5 year old daughter enjoyed eating one 👏🏻 Khachapuri with egg and spinach - simply delicious, crispy, fresh and so filling! We were happy to bring something home and enjoy it again in the evening. Thank you very much for the wonderful experience and see you next time!

If you know what is georgian cuisine - this is the closest to authentic experience! I am big fan of gc and tried all restaurants in Berlin, so far here - BEST KHINKALI WITH MEAT! With kinza and hot pepper, if you know what i mean. Khachapuri imeruli and khinkali with cheese also 10/10. It seems like a georgian family is running the place, you can see georgian grandma cooking and kind georgian girls serving - this is the sign of quality ❤️ Ps. They had a window before on Kotti ring, now it is a real dining experince, very nice!

A great, cozy cafe. You can taste and see that the food is homemade. Really well prepared with fresh ingredients. The coffee and smoothies were also very good.

Prices are lower than most Georgian restaurants. But the portions are also a little smaller. Very tasty satsivi, but the serving asks for bread, we didn’t know, so we ordered more. But all our requests were responded to, the service was good.

But the shkmeruli consisted almost entirely of liquid butter, which can only be described as “garlic cream sauce” with a lot of imagination. Plus a ridiculously small portion of tough, bone-in chicken. I know the dish and was accordingly disappointed. The service was inattentive.

I can only recommend Gio's to everyone. The guest room is small and very comfortably furnished, the atmosphere is familiar and warm. The person in charge of our table was an asset to the evening. There were three of us and we drank Georgian white wine and had three main courses and the starter platter to share. The food tasted very good and we were really full. In the end we had to share the dessert, but it was so good that we ordered more and then took the dessert home with us.

Attracted by this pretty restaurant from the outside, we discovered that the cuisine is Georgian. Why not try?! Great discovery, excellent dish, the staff is adorable. We are coming back to Berlin the following weekend, we have already planned to go back!

Can highly recommend this place! The room is small but very elegantly decorated with calm music. The food is really delicious! Prices are a bit high for some dishes, so I think €10 for some vegetables in the starters is a bit much. However, it is really tasty and authentic and the spinach khachapuri was a very large portion. So it evens out. As a German Maultaschen lover, the Khinkali didn't blow me away, but that may be a matter of personal taste.

Khinkali with mushrooms: 1/5, strange dough, small. Pkhali: 2/5, very small percent of nuts - just cutted beetroots. A bit expensive, not authentic georgian.

The food was nicely presented, but tasted quite ordinary. I had red beans. I would have liked some bread with it. I thought that would be added, but I probably would have had to order it separately. The service was very attentive and quick.

We had 3 different dishes. We rated them as 2/10 maximum. For me it was the worst khinkali ever had and the most expensive. Felt very heavy in my stomach afterwards.

Pleasant travel discovery here in Berlin, place open for 3 weeks, beautiful and welcoming. Top food and service, highly recommended for those who want to eat Georgian or in any case eat ethnic here in Berlin. I recommend the hot dishes, and the delicious beer! Great food, terrible Service. No card payment only Cash. Dishes were brought 5 minutes apart from each other so when my fiancé got her food mine was already cold. Waitress forgot part of the order, seemed to be more interested in chatting with family members, then working. Waited 5 minutes to pay my bill in a nearly empty restaurant. The food tasted decent.

I had the great pleasure of visiting the newly opened Georgian restaurant Gio’s Homemade Food and I absolutely love it. As soon as you enter the restaurant you can feel the warm atmosphere that is typical of Georgian hospitality. The furnishings are tastefully and lovingly designed - a perfect mix of traditional charm and modern style. On a cold January day, a cold starter with cold rice and chilled lemonade or water in a rather cool, poorly heated dining room wasn't quite right. The fact that it was a cold starter was not stated on the menu (exclusively the one on the left in the photos) and was not explained by the waiter. There was no tea either, only cold drinks, at least the rice could be warmed up a bit. But it was probably just bad luck with the selection, the other things including pasta look delicious and warm.

We were served a boat and a clay pot filled with eggplant and potatoes and it was a perfect start to the evening.

Very successful reopening! Price/performance unbeatable, food fantastic, especially the Khatchipuri. Gladly again, highly recommended.

Couldn't tell u much about the food even if my life depended on it. Arrived at the establishment at 18:30, maps said that it's opened, when in reality it wasn't. I called the stated number to ask if they are even opened today - got the answer that they are. After my reply that I'm outside of their door and it's anything, but open - woman on the phone said that her colleague be there in 5 minutes. I ended up waiting for 20 minutes only for nobody to arrive. Thanks for the "service", that's not how I imagined my birthday

Great restaurant despite the Kottis

Wow, seriously! Probably the best Georgian food outside of Georgia I've eaten in years. Meet khinkali were super juicy and dough was just the right thickness, vegan mushroom khinkali are also absolutely best. Just right amount of black pepper and spices to make it taste delicious but at the same time show the taste of mushrooms. Khachapuri dough was just right and cheese with butter and egg yolk is a real deal, no compromises with cheese substitution here, a real Georgian cheese. I have an impression that every single dish here is perfectly balanced and I simply cannot express how much I recommend that place.
