Food was great but customer service left a lot to be desired

Best Italian food I've had in a while!

It was my first time to eat carbonara with tomatoes! I was surprised when I saw it, but when I ate it, it went really well with the sauce, and it was really delicious. I felt that the taste was a little different from the carbonara I've eaten so far, but it added another accent and was fresh, making it a very satisfying dish. Since credit card payments start from 20€, I ordered tiramisu for dessert. There are also apples around the tiramisu. The sweetness of the chocolate and the slight sweetness of the apple were well balanced and very delicious. I think it was about 25€ for carbonara, beer, and tiramisu. I think this price is quite reasonable for this taste. Please stop by when you come to Berlin.

Great ambience with great service. Unfortunately the portions are a bit small for the price. The food is tasty but nothing special. All in all solid. You can pay by card here.

Delicious Italian cuisine in a cozy atmosphere and very friendly staff. Reservations would be recommended as all tables were occupied in the evening on both visits.

The food is delicious, the service staff is friendly, and there are a lot of customers. The pasta has a strong tomato aroma, the fried chicken steak is seasoned just right, the meat is charred on the outside and tender on the inside. We ate here twice whilst staying at the Lindner Hotel on Ku'damm. Good service and really nice food; be it the pasta, pizza or grilled chicken.

The pasta tastes homemade. Got a dish with salmon in lobster cream sauce, where the salmon was perfectly cooked and the sauce actually tasted of lobster! Absolutely fantastic. The tiramisu, on the other hand, was strangely tasteless, but drowned in a chocolate sauce - it was a shame. But still a clear recommendation.

Food is nice, we had some pizza's and pasta's and it all tasted well. Friendly staff. Location is along a busy road and if you're sitting outside it's noisy.

We logeerden in een hotel kortbij het restaurant en gingen er een paar keer eten afhalen. Dat was altijd bijzonder lekker, goed bij prijs en een ruime portie. We bestelden telefonisch en konden altijd snel onze maaltijd oppikken. Logeer je in de buurt!n? Overweeg deze plek!

Eating from taste went like this. When paying with a card you were asked to leave a tip. You should indicate on the card reader how much tip you would like to give. Bad business practices.

It can be seen that they are doing well here. It's usually quite full. We didn't have room for dinner, a bottle of wine and dessert. Great service, thank you guy from Macedonia!! We will definitely come back when we go to Berlin again

Best pizza in years… Emilio and his team are super nice

Wine tastes like piss, it was heavily oxidized and undrinkable and when I told about it, the waiter started arguing that the bottle was opened 10 hours ago, instead of replacing that. They refused to accept card payments from us, even though the couple next to us payed by card. It's next to a street and you constantly hear some random people raving their engines. In short: terrible place!

We have been waiting over an hour for a minestrone soup that was little more than water with red pepper. The main dish was pizza and they also took a while to serve it. When I told them that the mozzarella on the pizza was cold, they replied that mozzarella is a cold product (??) In short: waste two hours, get angry and eat badly. Not anymore!

We needed a casual dinner after a long flight. An outdoor table at Sale e Pepe was the perfect place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine and tasty Italian food. The service was excellent.

Very friendly service, pizza and espresso were excellent, the Tartufo is also highly recommended. Pleasant atmosphere. Gladly again.

We arrived quite late for lunch (approximately 3pm) and the kitchen was still open. The ambience was very nice, with italian music in the background, a candle lit up on the table and cozy decor. There were gluten free options available for every kind of pasta which we really appreciated! The service was super and overall quick. The food was amazing, and the bread with olive oil was awesome too. 10-20€ per person, would definitely return. thanks!!

By chance we visited this restaurant during our last stay in Berlin and it was great!! The three of us had pasta, pizza and a salad. Everything fresh and full of flavor. The service was also great, the tables outside had some flair (unfortunately the many cars were a bit annoying, but it was still fine).

The pizza was good, service as well. We ate 4 dofferent pastas and they weren’t bad but we didn’t really enjoy it either. Tiramisu however was bad and tasted nothing like how it should. Overall, I would recommend the restaurant if you want to go eat pizza, but nothing else.

We were there with 6 people. Have reserved in advance. It was a little more crowded after 7 p.m. Great service and very tasty food.

An Italian restaurant with a simple design that matches the one that exists in the country of origin (including a typical checkered map on each table, etc.). The menu is relatively limited. We ordered pasta arbiata which was reasonable and pizza margherita which was good. For dessert we ordered tiramisu which was on the face (a big disappointment because in terms of appearance it looked good, but the taste was nothing at all).

In keeping with the season, I ordered a pizza with asparagus and salmon. A margarita came with, in total, an asparagus stick. The amount of salmon was also marginal (see photo). The waitress noticed the surprise on my face, so she asked if everything was okay? I pointed out the sparse covering and so she called the (possibly) boss. He pointed out that I would be the first to complain about this. He took the plate with him and added asparagus. Now the quantity was great, I didn't want to make an extra request to reheat the asparagus that came out of the fridge. (16.50€) Afterwards I was of course a topic of conversation among the employees. Card payment only from €20.

Every 6 weeks I walk past this restaurant and think: wow...that looks delicious. Today we wanted to eat there after a family trip. We didn't feel welcome, which was perhaps because we had our dogs with us. We sat outside and the dogs didn't make a sound. So we took the food home with us. The bag (see pictures!) was still included in the salad. So it was pre-cut salad with the appropriate dressing. Maybe from Netto next door? One does not know. There was savory on the pizza. However, the pizza was not topped with a single bean, but instead with champagne, salami and ham. Very strange... The pasta was very soft and after I found the bag in the salad, it was no longer edible. And the bruscetta... that was drier than rusks. It's a shame and no longer worth a visit for us. I prefer to eat in Reinickendorf in my tried and tested restaurants, where I am also welcome with my four-legged friends and where the guest is still king or queen.

The undertone of the staff shows whether you are welcome or not. And please do not bring any four-legged guests with you. Savory on pizza and bag in salad are absolutely a NO GO! And all in this oh-so-great tourist corner. That's where I promise myself my outskirts of Berlin, where every guest is welcome. So dear visitors to Berlin... give the outskirts a chance too. Food is better, service is better and everyone is welcome!!! PS: Stomach pain is included...

Siamo stati in questo ristorante non tanto perché italiano ma perché forniva l'alternativa senza glutine per me che sono celiaca. Purtroppo non siamo stati bene, né io a livello fisico (quindi quello che mi è stato servito era sicuramente contaminato), né a livello di accoglienza poiché abbiamo aspettato più di mezzora per poter ordinare e quasi altrettanto per mangiare; quasi un'ora di attesa che è già tanto di per sé ma è ancora di più se si ha un bambino piccolo. In chiusura chiesto dolce senza glutine, come dichiarato dagli allergeni sul menù, che mi è stato sconsigliato perché non sicuro.... lì ho capito che forse anche la pasta che avevo mangiato non era sicura...e infatti mi sono sentita male la notte.

I was alone there and when I entered the restaurant I was looked at like the 8th wonder of the world. The restaurant is small but cute and invites you to linger. What was strange was that when I ordered I was asked how I wanted to pay. A little hint from the waiter that cash was better for the employees😉 The food we ordered was fresh, aromatic and very tasty. All in all, the restaurant is recommended

A charming restaurant with an old design on the edge of the popular area, reminiscent of an Italian restaurant for example from Sicily in the 1950s. We really enjoyed pizza, pasta and dessert. We enjoyed the aesthetics of the place. The waiter who took care of us behaved strangely, we were not pleasant, mocked us for various things and in the end determined the amount of the tip given to him. The other waiters seemed nice and calm.

It was fantastic!! Not to expensive. The food was delicious, the staff was super sweet and overall one of the best foodplaces I have ever been. If you are in Berlin, I really recommend this place. Having a reservition may come in handy because it can get busy.

Although the managers are Italian, their cuisine is close to the original one. Their flaw is the raw materials used, which are decidedly of poor quality. A place that tries to represent the trattoria tradition such as the checked tablecloth, the candle lit on the table. Obviously even the stereotypes of the boot cannot be missing; the Italian music in the background and the black and white photographs of famous people on the walls. An unexpected surprise was that if you pay by credit card they ask you to add a ...so-called tip....which...suggested by the manager, must not be less than €2.5 each/person; a sort of cover charge which however is not obligatory but recommended. This is a custom of all the places in the city. ATTENTION!!! The surcharge is often applied by default by the manager....Returning to the Sale & Pepe Restaurant....I recommend it only if you are in abstinence from a dish similar to the one made in Italy. Price paid €40 for 2 for a plate of spaghetti with garlic, oil & chilli, a grilled chicken breast with mixed vegetables, a 22 cl of water. and a 50 cl draft beer. Managers and service ok.

Ein eher preiswerter Italiener bei dem eine U-20 Lösung immer geht. Im Einzelnen: Service: Nett, schnell und gut. Essen: Grundsolide, nichts zu beanstanden Preis-Leistung: Unschlagbar gut Ambiente: Gepflegt, etwas eng und eher rustikal Wir sind in der Regel 2 Preisklassen höher unterwegs, aber das Essen war absolut ok. In dieser Preisklasse sogar absolut Spitze. Wer da noch meckert merkt es echt nicht mehr. Geht besser, klar, aber dann min. für den doppelten Preis. In dieser Preisklasse absolut top! Eine Anmerkung noch: Sehr gut besucht, evtl. kurz vorher reservieren. Insgesamt bleibt nur ein Dankeschön an das Team dort, der Besuch war eine positive Erfahrung!

We went for dinner and the truth is that I was delighted with the place. The food was delicious, both the main course and the dessert, the staff was quite friendly, polite and professional, the atmosphere was perfect, with that Italian touch in the decoration and Italian music in the background. In total I paid about €20.50 for the main course and dessert. A place I will return to when I return to Berlin.

Honestly the best pasta I've had both in and outside of Italy

My pregnant wife just went out to eat something here. She was refused a table, because the restaurant was allegedly fully booked, so she ordered takeaway instead. After a few minutes a couple arrived and asked if there was a table available. The waiter told them “yes” and a few minutes later they were given a table. The food is fine she tells me, but this level of service is very disappointing.

One of the best pizzas I have ever had (their special pizza with truffle olive oil) for a reasonable price. The waiter was very kind and helpful. Kids enjoyed spaghetti and pizza very much. Highly recommended!

As always, fast, good and cheap (daily menu for 9.50 euros with starter salad, almost any main course and drink = unbeatable in terms of quality). Update 1/23: Daily menu now 10.90 euros. Still good food...
