Sakura Restaurant PVT-Orient in Halle (Saale)

I was there recently with a friend. The food was good, but one of the employees was awful! My friend found a hair in her tea, and we agreed that she wouldn't have to pay for it. The employee didn't add it to her bill, but charged me for it. That's completely unacceptable! I'm really disappointed! A hair falling into a drink can happen (but it shouldn't)! But then to have the nerve to add it to my bill is just wrong! I won't be coming back. It's simply outrageous! 😡

I have nothing negative to say about the ambiance. Regarding the service, however, there were some issues. We booked two weeks in advance for my father's birthday, but were given a table that was cold and drafty. The portions were small for the price (I don't see the price-to-portion ratio), and reordering took a long time. We waited over half an hour just for our bill. I finally had enough and spoke to the waitress again quite forcefully; then she came immediately.

It looks like some of the staff have been replaced. In any case, the service is faster again. Thank you for that, and I'll gladly use your services again.

Nicely decorated, but the quality of the sushi boats is comparable to that of a Vietnam snack bar at Bahnhof Vietnam. Fried frozen dumplings, ready-made cakes, and packaged mochi… unfortunately, hardly anything is homemade. We were disappointed and won't be back.

A restaurant with style. That was my first impression when I saw this beautifully designed ambiance... Nothing has changed even after four years. The service is still very friendly. The menu hasn't really changed, and it doesn't need to, as it's a great menu. However, over the last three visits, I've repeatedly noticed that the quality of the food has declined considerably. While it's very attractively presented, it was usually cold. When I go out to eat, I like to spend money for a satisfying evening. However, today I was really fed up... The starter soup was only lukewarm, and all the main courses were cold, which really annoyed us. After I complained, my octopus was briefly warmed up, and that was it. It was neither really hot nor tasty... For me, this restaurant is over for now. Dissatisfied three times in a row is just too much. The point deduction in the ambience segment is due to the condition of the toilets.

Delicious and fresh. Sushi is gluten-free and contains no soy sauce.

The shop consists of three areas: the ground floor for à la carte, the upper floor for barbecue, and a sushi conveyor belt, also on the upper floor. Unfortunately, as a first-time visitor, I wasn't informed of this, so I sat alone downstairs and didn't get to enjoy the top-notch selection upstairs.

We went to Sakura for lunch today and ate à la carte. The selection is so extensive, it's a bit overwhelming at first. We opted for crispy roasted sweet and sour duck with vegetables. Unfortunately, the rice was already dried out around the edges. The vegetables, well, nothing special (broccoli, onions, two pieces of mushrooms, lots of zucchini). The taste didn't blow us away at all. We also ordered various vegan sushi. It was, unfortunately, the worst sushi we've ever had at an Asian restaurant. Tasteless, unimaginative, and lacking the attention to detail we've experienced at other Far Eastern restaurants. The service was friendly and attentive, and we didn't have to wait long for the food. However, we can't recommend this restaurant and unfortunately won't be going back.

The food was good. However, the service seemed overwhelmed, and there was little support among the staff. Unfortunately, the condition of the restrooms also didn't meet expectations: One toilet was very dirty, the toilet seat was hanging loose, and the sink showed obvious signs of wear.

Sakura was my absolute favorite restaurant a few years ago. Unfortunately, it's declined considerably. The food is good, but compared to other restaurants with the same menu, it's simply not better, and it's considerably more expensive. And that applies to all criteria. Everything is good, but not so good that it justifies the price. I hope it gets even better in the future.

Simple requests, such as asking for a moment to look at the menu or clarification on a dish, were met with sighs, eye rolls, and curt, monosyllabic replies. It felt as if we were actively harassing them by daring to visit their establishment. Their unprofessionalism was palpable and really set a negative tone for the entire evening. The wait for everything was excruciating. After what felt like an eternity, we finally managed to place our order. Then came the second, even longer wait. The time it took for our food to arrive was absolutely unacceptable. We watched other tables that had arrived after us receive their meals while we sat there, growing increasingly frustrated and hungry. When the dishes finally appeared, they were slammed down on the table without a word, further cementing the impression of disdain from the staff. And the food itself? A monumental disappointment. Not only was it grossly overpriced for the meager portions and quality, but it was also completely flavorless. My sushi rolls tasted like nothing more than cold, unseasoned rice with bland fillings. The fish didn't seem fresh, and the presentation was sloppy and unappetizing—truly an ugly sight. It was as if no effort or care had gone into its preparation. Every bite was a reminder of how much we overpaid for such a miserable culinary offering. This was far more than just a bad meal; it was a thoroughly ugly experience that left me feeling ripped off, disrespected, and deeply disgusted. I arrived expecting a pleasant evening, but instead encountered abysmal service, unbearable wait times, and, frankly, inedible food at premium prices. I wouldn't recommend Sakura Sushibar to anyone and certainly won't be returning. Save your money and your sanity; there are far better dining options in Halle.

Highly recommended. Delicious food, lovely ambiance, and friendly service. You can sit at a counter, ride around the sushi boats, or at regular tables. The entrance is on the ground floor. An elevator takes you to the upper floor. Everything is clean and well-maintained.

We ate there on Tuesday evening and were very satisfied. Making a reservation online was a breeze, and the atmosphere was very pleasantly Japanese. For starters, we had chimchi, which was very crunchy and delicious. The sushi, including the crunchy rolls, were perfect and rounded everything off. Only the server that evening was a bit introverted and seemed a bit preoccupied. But that wasn't a big deal. We'll definitely be back.👍

Went in for japanese ramen, but it turned out pretty underwhelming shoyu ramen. For the price, you'd expect something more refined. Service was minimal, not rude, but very bare-bones. The atmosphere during the day felt more like a casual family cafe than an authentic asian spot. Not terrible, but nothing compelling enough to bring me back.

This is our favorite restaurant for special occasions. We have never been disappointed here, the food is always very fresh and tasty. The ambience has a very good, cozy flair. A seat reservation is recommended.

I found the place very beautiful. You could pay by card. The restaurant is technically modern. There were too many onions as vegetables in my beef dish. Otherwise it was delicious and I would definitely go back to try more dishes. The restaurant is spread over several floors. The toilets are in the basement.

I haven't been this dissatisfied in a long time. On Valentine's Day we wanted to have a nice meal together as a group of 6. There was a lot going on, which was to be expected. The ambience was beautiful, but that was it. It had already been around 30 minutes before we could even order (drinks). The menu was totally confusing because several dishes had the same letter?! After we ordered our starters (with the request that we serve everything together), the first two (soup and summer rolls) arrived in a relatively short wait. The summer rolls only consisted of iceberg lettuce, some cucumber and a bit of carrot strips. The dip was a classic sweet and sour sauce. Wasn't worth it, while the soup was very good. In the meantime the last two starters arrived. The first main courses could then be ordered, for which we waited almost 40 minutes. Where you first had to find out what exactly was on the plates. The waitress didn't know, so another waitress was called in. It turned out that 2 ordered numbers were not recorded. After 20 minutes, the main course arrived, which was missing. Another 20 minutes passed and so did the missing orders. All in all very dissatisfying and a lot of money left behind. Too bad!

Despite having a reservation, we had to leave the restaurant again. We couldn't be assigned a table.

Unfortunately, my visit to the Sakura Hall was anything but pleasant. The food was average at best when we toured the restaurant. We had ordered a table via the website. The store was completely overcrowded and the staff, including the boss, were massively overwhelmed and very unfriendly. In the end we didn't get our table, which was then refused to us by the staff. Sakura doesn't have a proper ordering system, which was unfortunately evident in the crowded store. Sakura is not recommended!!! .

I reserved a table for two people 3 weeks before Valentine's Day and I saw from outside that it was pretty full, but I didn't think anything of it since I had a reservation. Only when we went in there was a couple standing in front of us who said that they didn't have a reservation. Nevertheless, they got a nice table on the lower floor. When I said that we had made a reservation for 7 p.m. (it was 6:55 p.m.), the lady smiled at us as we accepted and said that they didn't have any free tables left. I looked at her and asked if she was serious, because I heard exactly how those in front of us said that they didn't have a reservation. After us, more and more people came who also had a reservation and were told the same thing as us. Only after 15 minutes did we get a table that was a bit dirty. Since my girlfriend had wanted to eat there for a long time, we tried it anyway. But we weren't thrilled.

The food was very tasty! The ambience is so beautiful, it reminds me a lot of Japan. We think the price for 2 people is €66.10, 2 large starters, 2 main courses and 2 drinks is very fair. In terms of service, there were slight language problems but it wasn't that bad... Simply recommended, we'll be back!

Although it can get a bit noisy at the bar, the friendly and attentive staff ensure that you still feel comfortable. The central location also makes the restaurant easily accessible. If you are looking for high-quality sushi in Halle, you will definitely find it here. Recommended!

I don't want to feel cold when I eat, especially if it's not a cheap restaurant. You could only sit there with a jacket on, we weren't the only ones. It's uncomfortable and had snack quality. The sushi was quite good, but not really Japanese, as it had too many sauces, cream cheese, etc. and was partly poorly rolled. The mango lassi was disappointing: oversweet canned mango juice with something (cream?) added to it, at least not a real lassi and overpriced. Fried foods don't have Japanese tempura quality, so I left them out. The service was nice, but sometimes didn't understand what was being said. You have to have it repeated so as not to get the wrong thing. Over the years, the quality of Sakura has fluctuated greatly. It's currently in a weak phase - a shame! Another 3-4 points because of the fish, nigiri and rolls.

Unfortunately no recommendation. Unfortunately, the overall package disappointed us. Due to language barriers, incorrect orders occurred because the waitress did not want to take numbers. The equipment did not meet our expectations: inferior wooden sticks were offered - something I have never experienced in a "high-quality" sushi restaurant. There were also no small plates for guests, which increased the risk of food falling on the table. The sushi was okay, but partly poorly rolled. Overall, nearby alternatives offer significantly better quality and a more pleasant overall experience.

The Sakura in Halle is simply a dream for sushi lovers! The quality of the food was outstanding the sushi rolls were fresh, perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. I was particularly impressed by the large selection of different sushi creations and other Asian specialties. The service was quick, attentive and very friendly. The atmosphere in the restaurant is pleasantly modern and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy good sushi!

I ordered sushi and before that fried glass noodles with mushrooms etc. Unfortunately I can't recommend that. Afterwards I just felt bad, had a stomach ache the whole time and had to throw up. But otherwise everything was perfect

Disappointing, no more recommendation! There was almost no service, we ordered once at the beginning (food and drinks) and then we were never asked again (we were there for almost 3 hours in total). Even though we were sitting near the bar. But that wasn't the worst by far. We waited 1 hour from ordering to the starter and then another 1 hour from the starter to the main course, where we weren't that hungry anymore. The worst thing, however, was that there were 4 of us, 3 of whom had sushi, which came at the same time and the 4th meal only 20 minutes later, when everyone else had already finished eating. That doesn't work at all! (So ​​the 4 people waited a total of almost 2.5 hours from ordering to eating, underground.) Sushi was tasty, udon noodles not so much (hardly any vegetables, a lot of meat, which wasn't tasty) but the friends eating were completely gone , after the waiting time and the subterranean service. Afterwards we were looked at askance because we decided not to tip (because there was 0 service). You are much better off at Mimis or Kohaku.

Unfortunately, yesterday's visit to the Sakura Hall was rather sobering. It's a really great restaurant in terms of ambience and the menu also offers some great dishes. Unfortunately, we had to wait a long time for our food and then asked ourselves why this was the case, because our food was cold (vegetables, rice) to lukewarm (meat, baked shrimp). Even when we asked to warm the food properly again, nothing changed. The waiter then tried to explain the whole thing somehow, but we didn't really understand it. Unfortunately it will be our last visit there. Because there are definitely other options in the city where we have never had this problem.

We ate at the sushi bar. Original because the food goes past you in little boats. The atmosphere is authentic, modern, Japanese. The sushi is A1. The service was impeccable, even at peak times. The only "minus point" - very loud at peak operation. A top address for fans of Japanese food (sushi). I have been to Japan many times and have rarely - if ever - eaten better sushi.

Waited almost 3 hours for the food, beef steak served on a cold plate. Octopus was like rubber. Very loud in the guest area. It's almost impossible to reorder drinks. Desserts taste a disaster.

I remember Sakura from a few years ago. But what we experienced there today was simply disgusting. The seating and menus were completely covered in leftover food. I had a Tom Yum soup that simply tasted like spicy water and had nothing to do with the original. The main courses were served with completely dry meat and were swimming in fat. The sauce is full of flavor enhancers. And later got really sick and my wife was on the verge of vomiting. Never again to this restaurant!
