Sajo Restaurant in Wiesbaden

This was my first time here. The atmosphere is actually quite cool, but the wooden benches outside are a bit hard and you can't sit back. The food was very tasty. I ordered edamame as a starter, a fine selection of sushi, and a homemade drink. Everything was really great (only the portion itself, the sushi roll, was a bit small, but as I said, very tasty). Service was okay. I waited a while for my first order, the food came quite quickly, but after that, no one came out for a while. Unfortunately, only cash payment was possible. For this reason, and because of the above points, only 4 stars. But overall, I recommend it!

Very tasty and great value for money. The appetizer platter and surf n turf are definitely recommended. Despite being close to the road, the outdoor area is surprisingly quiet.

We dined here on a Sunday afternoon. We got a table for 4 people without a reservation. We were greeted by the smell of old oil. The smell was so intense that we briefly considered whether we should leave again. But I was very hungry and didn't have the energy to look for anything else. The appetizers came to the table about 40 minutes later. I had summer rolls. Was ok. I missed the sauce. Half an hour later the main courses arrived. I ordered crunchy sushi. These were so crunchy that I scratched my gums with them. I've definitely had much better sushi.

Cramped but very tasty and nice, fast staff

We made a reservation here ahead of time and took care to be kind and considerate throughout, but I must say that waiting 40 minutes for a single order of edamame and gyoza + an hour and a half for our mains was excruciating… to make matters worse, not only were we not offered any kind of compensation on our bill or even a simple apology for that matter, but our waitress made a fuss about the remaining 20 cents from our bill at the end. The food itself was nice but I can’t say it was worth all this tenacity and what should’ve been a nice birthday dinner turned out to be a 2.5 hour affair in which we only ate during the last 20 minutes of it.

Very disappointing experience at Sajo Restaurant - Asian Cuisine & Finest Sushi. We had to wait an hour and 45 minutes for our food, while guests who arrived an hour after us were served much quicker. It is absolutely incomprehensible why when entering the restaurant it is not pointed out that due to a lack of staff the waiting time can be up to two hours. Such disrespectful treatment of guests is unacceptable. We definitely won't be coming back.

Tested for the first time on a recommendation: very tasty and tasty food at reasonable prices in a basement, full on a Friday evening. The service from the young ladies is friendly, a bit hectic, points deducted for the lack of card payment options, 2025..., although you come to the table with a device for the bill that shows the contactless symbol 🤷‍♂️. At least this was pointed out when we made the reservation.

We went during lunchtime and were very optimistic based on the reviews. Unfortunately, the first disappointment was that the drink order was only taken after 45 minutes and we then had to wait another 2 hours for the food. No compensation, no feedback from staff about how long it will take. Despite repeated requests, we were always put off. This is really bottomless.

We waited for over an hour for the food and there was no apology or advance warning that it might take longer. The food was very good.

Really good sushi in Wiesbaden The sushi was super fresh and really tasty – exactly how you want it. The atmosphere was relaxed and the waiters were really friendly. No frills, just good quality and nice service. I'd love to come back!

Very tasty sushi! Lots of fish, little rice. But Maki is also relatively small. And a very long waiting time, even though only a few seats were occupied. I don't know if that's always the case. Was there for the first time.

We visited Sajo for the first time today and can only recommend it. We had sushi, sashimi, hot dishes and drinks. Everything was impeccable, super fresh and lovingly prepared. The service was super friendly. We'd love to come back. All thumbs up! 👍

Yes! Food was very good. Sashiimi, for example, was great, the same goes for the rest. The service was very friendly and quick. Only 4 stars because payment by card is not possible. Given the price level, although reasonable, it's an absurdity. For 4 people it can easily cost over €100. Apparently it is often not possible to use the card reader (no reception). Otherwise everything was tip-top.

The food came quickly and was good. However, it was anything but a pleasant stay. First we were given a table directly under the box from which music was blaring unbearably loud. We were then given a seat one table away, which wasn't much better. Despite the comment, the music was not turned down, so it was hardly possible to have a conversation at a normal volume. The proximity of the table to the toilet was very uncomfortable!!! And only when paying would you be informed that card payments are currently not possible. It's a shame, because we were really looking forward to the evening there because of the many positive reviews.

We got to know the restaurant at “Eat the World” and tried it out today - very, very tasty and very friendly staff!

This restaurant is very busy on Saturday evenings. You won't get a place here without a reservation. The food looks very appealing and fresh. We enjoyed it very much. Unfortunately, no card payment or only cash payment is possible (as of March 15, 2025).

The restaurant is stylishly decorated and the food is good. However, the service needs improvement. Unfortunately, communication was hardly possible due to our language skills. In addition, the coffee machine was broken and card payment was not possible. Recently the room temperature was very low, which made the stay rather unpleasant.

Very fresh, super tasty, large portion

We were there last Friday, 2 people. Reservation by email worked great. Unfortunately, at 6:30 p.m. in the middle and unexpectedly of the children's birthday party, it was very loud until the company left. We were given a table for two in the passage to the kitchen, but unfortunately it was very drafty. Hence the ambience deduction. But the food was very tasty, we had sushi, 1 soup and 1 tofu rice dish for the main course. The service was friendly and I will go again. P.S. Payment in cash was indicated in advance. Many self-employed people experience direct debit returns for card payments, I assume they want to avoid that.

The two of us were there on a Saturday and had made a reservation. First to eat! We had 2 starters and 2 main courses. The dishes were excellent! Full marks for the food. Unfortunately, if you're two people, it's very likely that you'll end up with one of the "cat tables" in the hallway to the kitchen/toilet. We sat on wooden stools that were too low and incredibly uncomfortable. I'm not the youngest anymore and we skipped dessert because I just couldn't sit anymore. Too bad. I will only go there if I am guaranteed another place.

The best sushi around, they also respond wonderfully to special requests. I can't tolerate soy and sesame and don't like ginger and wasabi. This is taken into account and implemented brilliantly. My blackheads are also thrilled. I love your G5 - Menu Miami, which you can see in the photos attached. PS: The G7 is also great, we always like to come here, even for the warm dishes.

Quite nice, sushi tastes pretty good but overall very expensive (100€ for 2) and the service is rather mediocre.

After a long journey, we were really looking forward to the sushi. The menu is very diverse and the food is certainly very tasty. Unfortunately, it wasn't until we ordered that we were informed that we couldn't order sushi, even though the menu mainly offered sushi and our neighboring table was served some. We then decided to eat somewhere else but unfortunately we weren't allowed to cancel the drinks. I think it's a shame that the menu wasn't communicated when we brought it, because then we wouldn't have ordered any drinks that we then had to pay for.

I am from Peru and Restaurante Sajo is one of the places I have visited outside of my country where the food, atmosphere and service were excellent. Highly recommended

From the crispy summer rolls to the aromatic soup, everything was an absolute pleasure. Sajo is not just a place to eat, but a place to feel good. We ordered sushi and edamame and picked it up. The sushi is tasty, but nothing special and really expensive. Soy sauce is extremely salty. So in terms of price-performance, it is not recommended.

We were there 2 weeks ago and had reserved. When you first look in from the street, you get a somewhat sober impression of the interior. However, that suddenly changed when we entered the restaurant: Cozy, we were able to choose a table and were served by a very friendly waitress. The wine was excellent, we had "dancing beef" as a main course with a nice spiciness; The sushi was also extremely fresh and delicious. The restaurant is a pearl of gastronomy. The photos on the beautifully designed website certainly correspond to reality. Gladly again!!

A nice atmosphere in itself, but unfortunately the dishes were all too sweet. When I brought it up, the waiter said that he was aware of this and didn't go into it any further. A disgrace for the price.

Very good food! Tastes good, price is appropriate for the quality, quantity is okay, nicely presented. The selection is available and varied. Service is very friendly. There are cheap offers at lunchtime - at least that was the case a while ago. These are a few dishes to choose from that are significantly cheaper than the normal menu. So far I've only been here at lunchtime (with 2 to 5 people) and there was always a table without a reservation.

Good Japanese restaurant in downtown Wiesbaden. The dishes appear fresh and are very tasty. However, I would say it is something for those with a small appetite and the prices are in the upper price segment considering the quantity. Personally, I think the sushi platter in particular is not enough for the price.

I was literally here at the same time as the previous reviewer last night. Not only were the food and cocktails high quality I was deeply impressed at the level of service they provided us as walk ins to a packed house. I loved the cozy ambiance and will definitely be reccomending this spot to my friends.

Absolutely bad service. We're sitting here and no one is coming, we got the card from the other table and now we've decided, we'll pay for our drinks and leave. We've been ignored here for 30 minutes. Nothing happens here anyway. My baby also gets impatient because there is no food. Tonight we're going somewhere else. Luckily we checked out again at lunchtime.

Terrible service, waiters ignore you, food doesn't come for over an hour

Not a bad place to have lunch or dinner. Price was reasonable, service was great. I took my family here for lunch around 1200 pm, not busy at all. Took about 30 min for our food. It's was the 4 of us... total spent 209.00 € .I would have given 5 stars, but the area we were sitting was really dirty, I could tell it had not been dusted for months due to the cobwebs. And dirty windows. Would have moved to a different table but didn't notice it until halfway eating. ( note: just check ur surrounding before you sit down)

The place is is like a hidden cove gem. Food awesome, and more than satisfying portions. Services, fast n nice, atmosphere, pretty inside out, and different music lists, but the best, the volume is just perfect. Not to loud and not too low. Oh and the drinks are amazing too.

We followed the good reviews and were disappointed. The food is quite good, but I haven't seen service like this in a long time. Not a good day, please, thank you, the plates are slapped down carelessly. When the table behind us asked for the menu, the waitress rolled her eyes in annoyance and the man at the table asked why she was being so unfriendly. To which he received no answer. According to the service, there was a 50 cent tip. I actually didn't want to give one, but then I rounded up. The waitress said: “Only 50 cents?” It was also the first time I experienced that the tip was commented on. We don't go here anymore. I haven't felt so unwelcome in a long time.

We visited Sayo for the first time yesterday and will definitely be back. Great selection of food and drinks at reasonable prices. The salmon tartare from the starter menu and the Lyche lemonade as a drink were particularly tasty. In summer you can also eat outside. However, you should note that you can only pay in cash. Still a clear recommendation!

Delicious food and friendly service.

Everything we tried was very good. Great sushi platters but also curry. Even though the restaurant was very busy, everything was served in a timely manner and the staff was attentive.

We celebrated our anniversary here. The atmosphere is pleasant. But what struck me most was the elegance and presentation of food and drinks. The taste is simply indescribable. Now this is my favorite place in Wiesbaden.
