Danger! Doesn't close at 10pm!!!! NO more food after 8 p.m.

The food tastes like German only with more spice and is far too expensive. “Card payment not possible” you are greeted with a sign like this on the door and nowhere on the website does it say that card payment is not possible. The service is very bad, the waiters are very rude and comment on everything you do (for us it was our hairstyles) and give their personal opinion. Some comments really could have been avoided. That also ruined the ambience because while you were eating you were constantly afraid that the waiter would come and make a stupid comment about your lifestyle.

Food tastes good, some extras were way too expensive! 15 grams for a hot sauce €1.95 and €5.50 for a bread not at all crispy tastes like frozen & microwave. Sorry, unfortunately never again.

The food was delicious, just as I imagined. We don't have Persian food on every corner. The service was friendly, but couldn't explain much about the food, although you had the impression that he spoke and understood German well. We were there on vacation and when we are in the area again, we would like to go there again.

I love Persian cuisine since I was in this restaurant. I always enjoy coming back to eat. After a beautiful day in the mountains, I enjoy food at one of my favorite restaurants.

Were here on vacation in the evening. Is a small but fine restaurant with great Persian cuisine. The food was perfect. Great in terms of taste and size (I have to get into the habit of taking photos 🙈). There were even 2 side dishes, saffron rice + potato wedges, although the menu said either or. It was a really nice and round evening.

I had the great pleasure of visiting Safran Persian Restaurant and all I can say is that it was a true culinary experience! As soon as you enter the restaurant you are greeted by a warm, oriental ambience that immediately transports you to Persia. The decor is stylish and the atmosphere is extremely inviting. The food is simply fantastic. The menu offers a diverse selection of traditional Persian dishes, all prepared with great attention to detail. I ordered the chicken kebab and it was cooked perfectly - tender, juicy and full of flavor. The starters were also excellent, especially the Kashk-e-Bademjan (eggplant) and the fresh herbs. What really makes this restaurant special is the attentive and friendly service. The service was extremely courteous and gave us great knowledge of Persian cuisine. The recommendations were excellent and you can feel that passion is put into the work here. The prices are also more than fair for the quality of the food. Anyone looking for an authentic Persian dining experience should definitely pay Safran a visit. Everything is just right here – from the food to the service to the atmosphere. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Very unfriendly service - we had the feeling that we were more of a disturbance at the end of the day than that we were welcome as guests. - even though we called and asked for a reservation. We then took the mixed plate x6 and paid 23 euros per person. Tourist trap.

We ate here last week, we chose the grill plate for 2 people and it was just right. Very good food and, as expected, tasted great. The sauce we ordered wasn't an issue either. We would love to come back next time we visit Thale. Thanks for the courteous service.

Today we chose the Persian restaurant Safran. Unfortunately there are no 7 stars, you would get them from us. Great welcome and very friendly staff. The food was amazing 🔨. Guys, you definitely have to go there. We are very happy to recommend it. A big thank you to the staff and keep it up. We'd love to come back.

We had lunch outside, a pleasant atmosphere. The menu is very clear and you can find Persian dishes. I thought it was good that there were German dishes for children. Our food was served in various small bowls, fresh, hot and delicious. The service was friendly and quick.

Wow, just wow. Were there this evening. There is really delicious oriental food there. If the restaurant were near us, it would probably be our regular restaurant. Staff and boss extremely friendly. About 1.5 km away from the monastery camping. Can also be reached by public transport!

The food there is very nicely prepared, according to the motto that the eye eats with it, and the portion size is just enough. What I really missed, however, were the spices. Maybe I'm spoiled, but the rice had no taste and the linsendal wasn't what you'd imagine. This can still be improved.

The food, the waiter was extremely nice and special requests (especially from the children) were responded to very courteously and implemented.

We were unsure where to eat, but what a great idea it was to eat here! The owner is a sweet, friendly man, who welcomed us warmly when we were at the door before opening time. Everything had been thought of, because he realized that we were not Germans and asked how good our German was and whether we already knew that we could only pay with cash. We forgot to take a photo of the starters, because we were very hungry and immediately attacked them! We were not very familiar with this cuisine, but we were immediately enthusiastic, what a taste sensation, delicious! The main courses were also very tasty, not too much fuss, but quality first! The meat was tender and well seasoned, the falafel was different than we were used to (but much tastier!!) and the meatballs in red lentil sauce were surprisingly tasty! (I normally don't like lentils, but I was pleasantly surprised!) We had a quick chat with the charming owner and even though our German is not of the best quality, we learned more about the town and local developments. The dessert was just as tasty and complete as the rest, especially for me and my daughter, because we have real sweet tooths! I would highly recommend this restaurant in every respect!

We have already spent 2 wonderful evenings, we were always warmly welcomed, served in a friendly and attentive manner. We had the grill plate for 2 people, so you can try everything. On the second visit, we had chicken, extremely tasty, and beef with lentils, which tasted very good, plus freshly baked bread with herbs, great, freshly prepared and nothing was missing! We'll be back, you need a great restaurant like this everywhere and especially the friendly people who work there. Thanks to the entire team, keep it up, world class!

We wanted to have a nice meal while passing through today. SAFRAN has good reviews. Beforehand, I checked the website to see what there was to eat and whether you could pay with an EC card. According to the internet possible (see picture). So I traipsed through the town for a good kilometer and the first thing it says at the front door: CARD PAYMENT NOT POSSIBLE Thanks for nothing!!!

We were there for dinner and it was beyond great. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere is tastefully decorated and the selection has something for everyone. The food itself was really delicious, freshly cooked, the bread was even steaming. Really highly recommended!

Were in Thale over Pentecost and had dinner here three times. Were here for the first time and wanted to try the cuisine. To put it briefly, the staff was friendly and attentive, the restaurant had a great atmosphere and the cuisine was top notch. The owner is also a very pleasant person to talk to. The only thing that was negative about the first evening was that there were guests (I won't say more about that now) who wanted something that wasn't on the menu and then bullied the young waiter when he didn't bring what they wanted. It didn't take much for me to tell them what I thought. Some people think they can afford anything. But well, anyone who can read has a clear advantage. We will definitely come back when we are in Thale.

We were there for the first time and absolutely loved it. If you want to eat something different, you can immerse yourself in oriental cuisine here. The falafel is a dream, and the starters are also highly recommended. And anyone who likes to eat lamb will get their money's worth here. We will be back!

Very interesting Persian cuisine, a variety of flavors, a visit that was more than worth it, unfortunately only on holiday in Thale, at home this could become my regular restaurant. 😋

What can I say... My experience only went as far as the table and then we left the restaurant. The reason. Unmotivated, unfriendly, no other guests in the shop but only the small tables were specifically pointed out. Two people table squeezed into the corner. No lights, no music. And as I said, unfriendly. I don't spend any money on it... I eat better at Kochlöffel.

If you want to try something different, you should eat here. All dishes are prepared with love and refined with typical spices. A treat for the palate The staff always friendly and relaxed. Had a nice time

We (2 adults & 2 children 1 & 4) received a very friendly welcome and the service was friendly and courteous. All the employees were really friendly and extremely fond of children. All Persian dishes we ordered (Djudje Kebab, Tschlau Kofte, Quoiema Palau) were super tasty and, above all, large portions. A visit is definitely recommended! :-)

The food, although taste-wise to our satisfaction, does not match the high prices of this restaurant. The atmosphere is quite hectic and cold, and the quality of customer service depends on the different waiters. Some polite, some a bit obnoxious. We were denied tap water, although we had already ordered multiple (pricey) beverages and plates for the entire table. Instead we were urged to buy regular water, which definetely raised the drink bill. The water even turned out to be sparkling, even if that was absolutely not requested and when we hinted at the fact that we wanted natural water, the waiter straight up denied the water was sparkling. Absurd.

First I would like to say that the service was very friendly and accommodating, but the food disappointed me a bit 😞 not very spicy, the sauces were very watery and everything was a bit sober, the prices at the entrance in the "showcase" do not match the menu...my conclusion is therefore the price Performance isn't quite right 🤔

My girlfriend has been wanting to eat here for a while because she loves Persian cuisine because her sister-in-law often cooks the dishes. We got a table at short notice that we had previously ordered by phone. The parking spaces in front were occupied, but everything was free on the next side street where you can park for free. When we arrived we were warmly welcomed and given a small table in the corner where we could have some peace and quiet. The waiter was new and didn't understand everything correctly, but the friendly boss came back and asked. We had the grill plate for 2 people which tasted really good and we barely managed it. We will visit the restaurant again.

The two of us were in the restaurant earlier and wanted to eat. We entered the store at 1:18 p.m. and a table was occupied. Then a discussion began because the kitchen and/or the restaurant closed at 2:30 p.m. and it would still be a while before we ordered. At some point the owner gave in and we were seated at the smallest table and the atmosphere was slightly disturbed. Persian hospitality and friendliness was not present here. Actually zero stars for this review. Unfortunately I can't say anything about the food etc. We said goodbye with thanks and tried to communicate our criticism in a positive way, but there is total ignorance and slight arrogance here. To be honest, I don't understand it...my wish would be to be a little more of a restaurateur. Very tasty falafel and lamb. We had take away food. Special requests were taken into account and the food was prepared quickly. There was a side salad with every meal. Unfortunately we found the portions a bit small for this price.

Leider habe ich keine guten Erfahrungen gemacht.😔 Meine Familie und ich sind froh, dass wir nach langem Suchen ein iranisches Restaurant gefunden haben, und als wir das Restaurant betraten, konnten wir uns über unangemessenes Verhalten nicht äußern.Und meine Kinder sind völlig verärgert.Wenn man bedenkt, dass es dort viele leere Tische gab.Ich verstand den Grund für diese Begegnung wirklich nicht.🤷🏻‍♀️ Alle Restaurants haben ein paar freie Tische für unerwartete Gäste. Aber 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Ich habe in keinem anderen Restaurant einen besseren Service gesehen. Mitarbeiter mit höchster Freundlichkeit und dazu noch mit sichtbarem Spaß. Das Essen war eine ausreichende Portion um satt zu sein / werden. Der Preis ( siehe Speisekarte ) mag für manch einen viel sein, allerdings lohnt es sich sehr. Vielen Dank liebes Team! Wir hatten hier ein kleines Geburtstagsessen mit 4 Personen. Wir hatten einen Tisch bestellt und wurden sehr herzlich begrüßt. Der Service und die Freundlichkeit haben uns genau so verwöhnt wie das leckere Essen. Ganz sicher werden wir wieder kommen. Meine absolute Empfehlung.

Das 1.mal persisches Restaurant ausprobiert und nicht enttäuscht worden. Gewürze exzellent.freundlicher Gastgeber.Speisen einfach nur lecker, egal ob vegetarisch oder Fleischspeisen.

Wir machen gerade Urlaub in Thale und kamen spontan vorbei. Obwohl wir also nicht reserviert hatten, gab es für uns uns unsere beiden Kinder einen Tisch. Das Essen war außergewöhnlich lecker, die Portionen ausreichend und das Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis absolut in Ordnung. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Aufgrund der doch meist guten Bewertungen und weil das "Athos" Urlaub hatte, sind wir im Juli 2022 in dieses Restaurant. Als Vergleich hatten wir das Darwisch in Heidelberg und das Shiraz in Bonn. Leider spielt dieses Restaurant nicht in dieser Liga. Wir saßen in einem engen Hof. Gefreut haben wir uns auf eine schöne persische Mezze. Hier wurden wir leider enttäuscht, die Safran-Überraschung konnte da nur wenig überzeugen, die Falafel waren trocken, die Vielfalt ließ auf sich warten. Die Tür, welche von der Küche zum Hof ging, knallte rhythmisch, wenn ein Essen oder ein Getränk die Küche verließ. Also, es gibt noch einiges zu tun. Innen ist das Restaurant schön gestaltet.

Leckeres Essen, viele verschiedene persische Gerichte zur Auswahl. Hausgemachtes und leckeres Eis zum Nachtisch sowie super tolle Baklava. Bei uns hat das Essen lange gedauert bis es da war. Preis-Leistung stimmt. Ansonsten ein gutes Restaurant.

Wir hatten uns spontan entschlossen, hier einzukehren. Wir haben es nicht bereut. Wir wurden sehr höflich bedient. Auf unser Essen mussten wir eine Weile warten. Das Essen wird immer frisch zubereitet, deshalb dauert es etwas. Schon auf der Speisekarte wird man darauf hingewiesen. Es hat uns vorzüglich geschmeckt. Wir können das Restaurant sehr empfehlen.

Wir haben leider gleich mehrere schlechte Erfahrungen gemacht. Obwohl mehrere Tische frei waren und auch nicht reserviert waren, wurden wir brüsk an einen zugigen Tisch direkt am Eingang platziert. Dort war es sehr kalt, und die Heizung ließ sich nicht regulieren. Wir haben uns daraufhin die Jacken angezogen und gefragt, ob sich vielleicht die Heizkörper aufdrehen ließen. Das sei nicht möglich und überhaupt sei es ja gar nicht kalt. Und bald komme ja unser Essen, dann werde uns schon warm. Das Essen kam aber nicht bald, sondern sehr viel später, etwa eineinhalb Stunden mach der Bestellung. Es schmeckte okay, allerdings waren die Portionen für den Preis sehr spärlich bemessen. Für den Service würde ich aber tatsächlich null Sterne vergeben. Der Kunde ist hier nicht König, sondern Bittsteller. Alles in allem nicht zu empfehlen.
