Rustikeria in München

The atmosphere of this restaurant is anything but cozy. It was loud, the air was stuffy and hot, and the tables were very close together. Furthermore, we were seated at a table that was much too small. The menu was also nothing special, but the servers were pleasant. The prices were a bit high, as is typical in Munich.

Our family was so impressed by this restaurant! It is a hidden gem. I will tell you we had difficulty with the menu as it is in both German and Italian. But the staff went over and beyond to explain. The food was absolutely delicious and we had a wonderful experience. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful evening at the Rustikeria. The service was incredibly friendly, the food was delicious with a lovely selection of homemade dishes, and the venue was beautiful. We would visit the restaurant again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it!

I was in this wonderful place with my wife. Since I was curious about the food and architecture of the place due to my Italian heritage, I decided to go there and eat. We are welcomed by Sergio, a man good at his job and ready to fulfill any request. Prices are a bit high, but you pay for quality, guys 😘

The atmosphere was great, we almost forgot that we are in Germany! The staff were very helpful and kinda great suggestions for food pairing with our drinks!

Very good service and very good food, but a bit expensive for what it is 🫠 also very noisy due to the high ceilings! It's best to make a reservation in the evening, as it can get very crowded here!

Unfortunately, the price/performance isn't right here at all - it's clearly too expensive for what you get in terms of food. Steak was dry and tasteless. Lasagna was tasty but tiny. Service, yeah. I was hoping for more. Bottom line: disappointing. Won't come again.

Food was great - service unfortunately bottomless. Rude, annoyed and inattentive. Would come here again for food at any time, but the unfriendly service completely ruined the visit here - a shame!

The tagliere and the coccoli with stracchino were simply wonderful! The prices are really good for the quality offered. The owner is very friendly and you can immediately tell how much passion he puts into his work. Our service was also very nice. 10/10 – we will definitely come back more often!

I went to the Rustikeria for the first time on Friday evening with a friend (without a reservation). We were aware that it wouldn't be easy to get a seat, but we would have liked the service staff to make a little more effort. Not only when looking for a seat (we were only directed to the outside seats as everything inside was reserved), but also when ordering ourselves, we only received a card, our food order or, in the end, the bill after we asked several times. A menu for dessert or coffee was not offered. Nevertheless: food (we had the focaccias) and ambience (terrace) were top top top! Absolute recommendation on the spot.

The restaurant is located in the Müller'schen Volksbad and is beautifully decorated. The menu is unusual (no pizza) but very interesting. We had the fish platter (ok, too dry), lasagne (ok, too bland in taste) and Diavola Schiacciate (very tasty). Fully priced.

I was here with friends a few weeks ago and unfortunately I wasn't impressed. First of all: the atmosphere is nice and it's pleasant to sit on the terrace, especially in summer. The schiaccata with pecorino and honey as a starter and the lasagna were delicious. We had three other different pasta dishes and they were all okay, but really underwhelming and bland. My weekly menu of pasta with eggplant and mint sounded really great on the menu - but unfortunately it was very disappointing for more than €20 and didn't taste fresh. The tiramisu tasted good, but unfortunately the ratio of sponge cake to cream just wasn't right - the cream was skimped on (too much). All in all, the price-performance ratio is not right for me. Next time I come back, I would definitely choose schiaccata instead of pasta - this is clearly Rustikeria's strength. One more request: do your female guests a favor and please finally replace the broken toilet seat in the women's toilet. The seat was already broken in August, the last time I was a guest. It's not only unhygienic with the adhesive tape over the break point, but also really uncomfortable - unfortunately we women have to sit down...

The food was really yummy (we shared different types of schiacciata - which is kind of a stuffed bread). The service was rushed and nervous, making the experience less pleasant. I consider the prices a little higher than average (25€ for a drink and a schiacciata) but it’s still a place I’d recommend to go to.

The appetizer platter was good, a bit heavily seasoned with lots of Italian herbs. Plenty of schiacciata on the menu, well-filled and tasty – worth a visit. My highlight was the wild boar ragu – delicious, well-seasoned, and, above all, plentiful. The panna cotta was also really good, with little gelatin and lots of cream.

Best place in town for a real Italian aperitivo. Always high quality food, and super yummy!

Enormously high hall - has style. The furnishings are rather uncomplicated and suitable for families. Food was impeccable, lots of delicious sandwiches with focaccia bread. Otherwise all the classics of Tuscany. Nice service.

I am not sure I get the hype to be honest. In a word: overrated. The food is fine, better than most Italian places but not the best. Portion sizes are quite small, which, combined with the food not exactly blowing you away, makes it feel a bit overpriced. The draw is its new setting, an absolutely stunning space for a restaurant. Service was also excellent, very welcoming staff. Bonus: they make a very good spritz.

For Tuscan food, really a good place to go outside of Tuscany. The cold dishes are definitely acquired in Tuscany, really top notch authentic sausage and cheese goods. The homemade focaccia is world class. The noodle dishes are strongly seasoned and generously portioned. You can tell that it's going that way, but it doesn't taste like it does in Tuscany. But the will is there. The dish of the day was very tasty and also well seasoned. Our conditions probably had a first day in the location and didn't know the way around very well. But that wasn't a bad thing because he was very friendly and tried to please us. We felt really comfortable. The ambience with the high ceilings was very inviting and even though it was full, it was easy to have a conversation at lunchtime. Next time we'll come to taste the bread thoroughly!

I've often been to the Müllersche Volksbad, but it was my first time eating there. Tuscan cuisine is offered there. The specialty is mainly a kind of sandwich with traditional Tuscan bread. But I only had antipasti: with fantastic fennel salami. The ambience fits wonderfully with the Art Nouveau style of the Volksbad.

The waiter is nice but made a mistake with the order, there still weren't many guests. Food portions are relatively fine and oily but tasty. I ended up ordering a Fortemarmina to take away because it looked good that I really wanted to try a schiacciate. Unfortunately I got something different (Bellaciccia) and I'm completely disappointed because it has prosciutto, which I'm not allowed to eat, and it's also impossible to react. ☹️

You wouldn't expect a special restaurant in a swimming pool - unexpectedly delicious & top service!

Well, it’s not bad, the food is more or less tasty, although the wait was long, the waiters are friendly, a special plus is that our Monty (dachshund) was immediately given water to drink!

One of the best if not the best authentic Italian food in Munich. Good selection of cheese, fresh made pasta, and delicious appetizers. The atmosphere of the place is very charming and the service was super nice and friendly. Definitely will go again and again. Highly recommend.

We had a reservation from 4:30 p.m. After we paid at around 7 p.m., the manager, presumably, wouldn't even let us finish our drink. In a very unpleasant way he asked us to leave the restaurant immediately. We didn't stick to the rules of the 2-hour time window and anyone who didn't stick to the rules would be sent out of the restaurant in an unkind manner. We will never ever go here again. We were really very annoyed by the way things were done.

We (4 women) have just been expelled from the restaurant by a very unfriendly male waitress named Giovanni in a cheeky and unfriendly manner that we have never experienced before. Although we had exceeded the time slot for the table, the new guests hadn't arrived yet and it was no longer possible to drink the remaining 3 sips of Aperol Sprizz despite our requests. For me it's a disgrace. If it had been served faster, we would have been able to keep to the time better. It's a shame for this place...

The ambience is first class. The restaurant is located in the Müllersche Volksbad, but is separated from the bathroom and can be reached via the entrance area. Fortunately, we couldn't smell any “swimming pool smell” in the restaurant itself. The starter consisting of ham, cheese, bread and grilled vegetables was solid but nothing special. The main courses were very small and unfortunately tasted rather disappointing (spaghetti with cavalo nero and squid as well as lasagna). The spritz looked good at first glance, but was very thin. Conclusion: Nice ambience but there is still room for improvement when it comes to food and drinks.

Fantastic! Not your typical Italian restaurant. Only cold Tuscan dishes, but of the highest quality. Super nice owner, great service and a very interesting wine list. Good value for money. You definitely have to reserve time. A must-go!

The food and service were really impeccable. I found the furniture including seating not that inviting and the ambience was marred by the acoustics (guest noise).

First time going to this restaurant, was not that easy to find it, due to some temporal street work in progress, however, the building where you find the restaurant is very nice, as well as the surrounding. Parking in the area is not that easy as you either have to hunt any empty slot, either park few streets away from the restaurant in paid garage parking. We were 2 couples and ordered 3 different types of food and some drinks, however we all considered it overpriced ( 1 Aperol spritzt costs 8 euros and it wasn't the best I ever had) and the pasta I had was not as tasty as expected. The staff was OK, they speak Italian, Deutsch and some English. Toilets fairly clean, but felt some bad odor. Overall, the place for us was one time experience and do not think to come back.

never tried Tuscan food before but this was really excellent! had the sandwiches for starter and pasta for mains, both extremely high quality, and the wines and cocktails were great too - for Munich it’s also competitively priced with friendly accommodating staff, quick efficient service despite how busy it was, and a nice ambience inside a historic building. Cannot recommend enough! Reserve a table!

In the wonderful Müllersche Volksbad next door... beautiful, high room, it gets very loud if there is a large group. Sweet, extremely attentive lady who served us. The selection of food is not too big but is of the finest quality. Something different too. Very well mixed drinks, delicious Giesinger beers. We felt very comfortable.

The place was very nice and cute, but it was surprisingly crowded for a Tuesday evening. The servers were a bit pushy about ordering, and once we did, it took a long time for our food and drinks to arrive—some items were even forgotten. Overall, a nice atmosphere, but the service could definitely improve.

It took them a long time to bring us the food. The service was in a bad mood. They threatened to call the police for leaving without wanting to pay for the entrance (two soups). We didn’t want to pay for them because we waited an hour for the main course and then we decided to leave the Restaurant. Several times we asked what was going on and why it was taking so long. I wonder: is it necessary to make such a fuss and threaten us just to charge us for two soups? It’s not worth creating all that chaos. A professional kitchen manager would apologize and let you go without having to pay. They end up losing.

If you like typical Italian, this is the right place for you. A little loud, a little busy, delicious food and just living 👍🏻

Unfortunately a real fail. The three of us were squeezed into a table that was far too small for that. One of us had to sit in the aisle, so we were constantly jostled and no one could get through. It's very loud and smells like old grease. The food took a very long time (over 1.5 hours for the main course) and some of it wasn't what was ordered. Plates weren't cleared away for ages, even if the waitress came by the table ten times in the meantime. The prices are just ridiculously high for the atmosphere and service. You can tell that this is simply about extreme profit maximization - unfortunately at the expense of the guests. It is therefore difficult for me to advise against choosing this restaurant.

Unfortunately, my anticipation of a visit to the Rusterika was quite disappointed yesterday. I had the gnocchi with burrata. According to the menu, the gnocchi are homemade. However, they taste and look like a finished product (have that sour note). Very firm dough (I'm not talking about al dente) and visually suspiciously uniform. When we entered the restaurant, we were immediately seen by a waitress and kindly asked to come to our table. The lady provided good service and brought us wine and dishes quickly. Then her colleague took over. I found him cheeky and almost intrusive when, without asking, he commented on my choice of drink (I had water and a spritzer after the glass of wine) by saying that I was boring and why it was only alcohol-free. Laughing, shaking my head and trying to persuade myself. What's that supposed to mean? It's a shame, unfortunately I won't come again.

We went for a late lunch today for our final lunch in Munich after residing for two years and wish we came to this place earlier. Excellent friendly service and the food was amazing. We sat outside to eat. Although there’s a lot of construction going on and it was difficult to figure out the entrance at first, definitely worth a visit.

Food was very good! The surrounding area itself was very nice, but there was a large construction site on the opposite side of us (outside), which spoiled the atmosphere a bit. Still a very nice staff and a nice stay!

I felt at home! Friendly and professional service, tortillas with typical Italian products, fresh pasta with excellent quality sauces.

Schiacciata Toscana very very tasty. Very high quality Italian ingredients. We also treated ourselves to a good Aperol Spritz and lasagne, also good like in Italy. I can only recommend this locally.

Based on a recommendation, the two of us made a reservation. Unfortunately, despite our reservation, we were told that all tables were taken and that we were welcome to wait to see if a table became available earlier or if a reservation was not honored. Because of the behavior, I have no ambition to give the restaurant a second chance.

Actually nice atmosphere, the menu is large, but only consists of starters, sandwiches and a handful of main courses. The food was not worthy of Italian cuisine. The tagliata for €33 was completely cooked through, the meat was of poor quality and you had to order the side dishes separately (€6.50). The open red wine would have been a better vinegar. Overall, it's really a disgrace. The service was good, the restaurant apparently had only been there for a few months. Maybe things will get better, we won't come back.
